Evening house.
Just want to ask if anyone has ever sent a box containing clothes from Europe (Berlin) to England. Do I have to declare the value of the clothes and do customs really go through boxes.
Cos I’m just not decided if I should send it through delivery services and if anyone knows any reliable and good baggage delivery services or any advice at all

First have you registered to be on the electoral roll? Very important in building your credit history. Do you have a contract phone that you post pay? You start having credit score recorded for you immediately you start making payments on your bills. Signing up on Totally Money, Experian and other credit reporting platforms might help too.

Good thing you can report your rents as well... Will share the link below for you to sign up for free after doing your due diligence on same.

Use the following to report your rent payment to report the rent payment to credit agencies.

Need advice please
How long after getting into UK would someone have a credit score? Been here since 2nd week in June on a dependent visa. Not started working yet. Have an account with Lloyd, Monzo and Revolut.
Just rented an apartment this month though and haven’t started paying any bills.
Just want to know if anyone has an idea of when one can start having credit history

Hi house. I’ve asked this question earlier though. Came into UK on Saturday 10th of June and planning to collect my BRP on Tuesday 20th of June.
I’m told I must collect within 10 days of arrival within the UK or 3 months after the visa is issued ‘whichever is the later’.
Just want to ask if I’m still within the specified period as my visa was issued less than 5 weeks ago but I’m not sure if collecting on the 10th falls within the specified period

20th June is still within the 10 days period since you arrived on the 10th of June 🤷🏿‍♀️ or are we missing something here?

Once you've stated your collection point during your application process, it will be despatched there in wait for your arrival and collection date specified. Did you get any email from the courier service stating your BRP has been despatched? They usually send one.
I actually plan to arrive in Manchester on the 21st making it past the 10 days arrival date to get the BRP.
And no, I haven’t received any message about my brp being sent by any courier

Hi.
Came in on the 10th of June and still staying somewhere around London but I’m supposed to get my BRP in Gorton, Manchester within ‘10’ days of arrival according to the BRP letter I got.
Problem is, I’m actually supposed to wait for some reasons till 20th of June and that will be past the 10 days for the BRP.
Don’t know if this could be an issue and if I should cal the post office ahead to say this or I definitely have to get it within the 10 days of arrival or I should just ignore and it isn’t much of an issue.
Thanks in advance house

Hello house
Can I travel with an international passport that has a 3 moth validity?
My visit visa will be expiring in Nov 2023.
My wife is presently in the uk working as a doctor and I intend to apply for a dependant visa next month.
Will o still be allowed entry into the UKif I’m traveling with a passport that has an expiry date that is less than 6 months if I’m on a Tier 2 visa with a BRP
Hello house. Need help with this please

Good morning House.
I applied for a UK standard visit visa and did my biometrics on Feb 20.
I had a program I am to attend on May 5 and was supposed to arrive in UK on April 25 which was what I wrote on my visa application form.
I was issued the visa and noticed that my entry date was written as 18th of May instead of 18th of April.
Please what do I do? Am I supposed to pay for a new visa application or write them or what?
Thanks.
Thanks to everyone that responded.
Did a paid call to them…actually told a friend in uk to call on my behalf and gave him every needed details.
They just mailed me today to bring in my passport for submission and I’ll be re issued a correct visa.

u can apply 3 months to the time. Please if you want to state that you will be spending 1 month in the uk for a 1 day exam pls provide extensive explanation of why this and show that you have accommodation as well finances covered x 10.
Ur form will carry the question what date are u planning to come into the uk- usually you would get a validity from one week before this date if it is for a later visa such as you are seeking
Thank you very much.

Hello house.
Need help and advice as I'm in a dilemma.
I intend to write my plab exam in the UK in the first week of July but would want to apply sometimes in the second week in March.
I understand that one can't apply earlier than 3 months but intend to state in my application that I'll be entering the UK a month before my PLAB 2 exam with a leave letter from work so I can prepare for the exam and read.
Will I be able to apply in March if I state that I'll be traveling in June and when can one enter the UK if the visa is granted.
A friend said they usually put the entry date to be about a week to the time one intends to travel to the UK cos I I tend to travel sometimes around May 25

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by crossbonehelped: 8:37am On Sep 11, 2021
Good morning house. Need help and advise.
I'm planning on traveling to the UK on a student visa for the January admission and intend to go with my fiance. We haven't done the court marriage yet though we've been dating for about 5 years with mails and chats to that effect.
I read about the unmarried partner and was wondering if anyone has advise on that or I should do a court marriage but I'm also concerned if that won't be seen as not being genuine considering the court wedding will probably be about a month to when we want to apply for the visa.

Thanks for the help so far. Need help in filling some parts of my application.
There's this particular part I'm asked how much I earn monthly after tax. Parts of my salary however go towards a loan repayment and my cooperative savings.
Wondering if I should add all together or just put in what enters my bank account alone? Would be submitting my payslips to show how much I'm being paid, tax deducted and other deductions too.
Would appreciate the help. Thanks.

ekpotek:
.

I will advise that you do not use your father bank statement as this may be viewed by ECO as poor home ties to your country, after all, you're working and should be able to sponsor yourself without support from anywhere. .Since you have N800K available, request for this money to paid into your bank account. Then explain in a cover letter, that the money came from your cooperative savings with evidence and documentation from your cooperative to support it. With 1M in your bank account you are good to apply.
Thanks a whole lot for the candid advice

Was thinking of obtaining a letter from the cooperative stating that I have access to the said amount on request and would be submitting my payslip which shows the monthly deductions for the cooperative as I would be submitting my application in the next 3 days and feel putting such a huge sum for any reason might be counter productive.
Then someone advised that using my dad as my sponsor shows family ties meaning I have peeps here that I'm close to as against going all alone without demonstrating any family support here.

Hi. Been on this thread for a while and really learnt a lot.
Plan travelling to U.K. in May ending for the second part of my medical licensing exam. Already paid the £845 fee for the exam and want to apply for the visiting business visa that plab exam falls under.
I have been working in a federal Govt facility for about 5 years but wasn't really planning on travelling till late in the year but some change in U.K policies means I have to travel soon.
My source of concern is the fact that my savings account only has about 200k which is about £500 inside while my estimated total spending would be about £1200 as I intend to spend only 4 days total. I however have a cooperative savings of about 800k which is available on request by me and I intend getting an official letter to that effect.
There's also a provision for a sponsor for which I'm considering using my Dads account as he could help to the tune of £1000 but I'm caught in between using just my saving account in the bank which is about 200k and my cooperative saving for which I could assess around 800k or just using my Dad as the main sponsor and probably adding about 200k myself to the money.
Note that I'm above 30 years of age though unmarried and the money in my dads account is a savings that's been on for over 3 years though the money is largely untouched but payments are made monthly.
Thnsks for the anticipated help.
