plaetton: You still dont get it , do you?I think you are blowing issue out of proportion and dont know the Bible as you claim it. The idea of saint is not a new testament thing neither is it an exclusive term for believers in Christ. A saint is a sanctified, separated person totally committed to Yeshua (God). Moses and other patriach of old are saint. Now here are a few places where the word saint was mentioned: 1) Psalms 106: 16 'They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aron the saint of the LORD. 2) In Daniel 8: 16, you see the same mention of saint. You should try understand the difference between a matyr and a saint. The context differs. Now to your question on where did the resurrected saint go after the rose up and appeared to many. They went back to their rest (the grave). That is the simple explanation! Read 1Thessalonian 4:15-17. If you are looking for a part of the scripture to make fun of...you cant have any. Your argument are always very weak! |
unistudent1: Thanks for your replies.Oh sorry for the misinformation. Teleperformance center are decided at Sheffield while the VFS is at Abuja High Commission office. Please visit the Ikeja VFS office if you can still get a date with them No, you don't need to go to Lagos. Passport and document are made available at the collection center. |
unistudent1: When you say most people in Abuja, do you mean the people that applied at the Abuja VFS or the people that applied at the Abuja Teleperformance?I mean most people that applied at the Abuja VFS office. I am yet to confirm from people that applied via the Abuja teleperformance |
unistudent1: I just want to knowVisa decision are made at the consular office in Abuja. The Lagos office is a collection center. I advise Abuja though the Teleperformance guys are just settling down. |
unistudent1: I made a mistake on my visa application form. I have signed the declaration but I haven't yet booked an appointment date or paid. Can I create a new application using the same CAS numberStart the application afresh and you can use the same CAS number. What is the name of the school? Also ensure you fill the information correctly this time and make appropriate visa fees payment. You have nothing to fear. The fresh application has no bearing on the result of your visa application once you provide right and correct information. |
Chioti: Tracking code that has refused to change since. University of Manchester. If application is submitted in Lagos, I think there is a major problem with the transition from VFS to Teleperformance firm as UKBA commercial partner. This is terribly elaying the result from being processed. Most people in Abuja have their visa's within 5-8 days. I hope this teleperformance will be on top of their game soon enough |
SSGUniport: There is nothing to worry about if all the documentation are right and you didn't have any visa refusal history. |
Chioti: Your application has been approved and visa issued....it actually means the visa has been granted, right? cos am already so excited. And then if my VAC was at Abj, hope the passport will be returned "within 2 working days"Most likely return before the two days. Keep tracking the passport via the tracking code. May I know the name of the University? Just inquisitive |
AlfaSeltzer: One thing with David was that he was very fond of other people's wives. You see, Abigail was Nabal's wife before David took her. Bathsheba was the wife of Uriah before David took her. Infact unmarried maidens seem not to interest david. When unmarried Merab was offered to him, he wasn't interested. He even bandoned his previously unmarried first wife, Michal, who became so frustrated that her father gave her in marriage to another man. It was after Micah married another man that David became again interested in her and fought to get her back. So don't tell me that Ahinoam wasn't someone's wife previously because if so, David wouldn't have looked twice at her.Interesting! you are trying to really twist the scripture to your level. I start with the subject of David marrying other people's wives. If you want to use the scriptures as your basis of argument. then stick to it and dont be presumptous! It is clear to you now that Ahinoam the wife of David was not the Ahinoam, the daughter of Jezreelites. Now to state that the same Ahinoam must have been the wife of another man probably that was what elicitied the libido of David. That's wrong! It wasn't in the scriptures and you cant conclude like that. There are other wives of David that little were known about them Haggith, Abitah and Eglah- we knew little about them other than their children to David. Now to Prophet Nathan, "Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I anointed thee over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul, and I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom," etc. But Saul's wives did not become David's wives, and hence that comma should not have been placed after "house," and the word should have been translated "women," not "wives.” According to tradition, when a new King emerges, every possession of the other king is in possession. So the context of Nathan declaration was in tandem to possessing and taking care of them by way of provision and protection and not sexuality! Also Rizpeah, the concubine of Saul, David had her two sons hanged at the request of the Gibeonite. David wont treat his own wife like this. Study the word properly and not with a gainsaying mind or cheap popularity. Yes David had lot of issues with his passion for women but he did not commit incest sleeping with her mother-in-law and wife. He married Abigail after the demise of Nabal. No law stop him from doing so! |
AlfaSeltzer: Where did you get the info that Jonathan was 42 when David was 15? Anyway, that's not the topic of this thread.Aside the fact that the Ahinoam the daughter of Ahimaaz would be too old for David to marry and would have reach menopausal age. There is another twist to it. Ahinoam the Jezreelites and Abigail followed David together with his followers to the land of Philistines to escape from Saul. During this time a Civil war broke out and there is no way Ahinoam the wife of Saul would be the same wife of David or follow him to Philistine. "27:1 And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand. 27:2 And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath [see Gath of the Philistines]. 27:3 And David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal's wife.27:4 And it was told Saul that David was fled to Gath: and he sought no more again for him." (1 Samuel 27:1-4 KJV) For the singular fact that Ahinoam was married to David before the demise of Saul and followed David to escape from Saul cancels out funny permutation that Ahinoam the wife of Saul was the same wife of David knowing full well the great respect that David had for Saul. He couldn't even kill him when he had the once in a life time to kill him. How much more taking his wife while he King Saul was alive and Jonathan as while. What a parochial conclusion! Alfa...as much as I appreciate the depth you go deep to sort out issues in the scriptures always have a balance eye and do your research deeply. |
malvisguy212: the scripture make it clear that no oneGood analysis and forecast of things to come but I do not see how that relate to my answer to Llvey. Maybe I am missing something |
AlfaSeltzer: So quoting your bible is now kicking against it? Because all I did was quote the scriptures. You didnt just quote my brother, you made a fallacy of hasty generalisation without a contextual perspective of issues and conclude God is a Liar! I beg to differ |
Alexyem: calvary greetings to all my brothers and sisters in the lord!!! Pls my problem is that am getting confused with all dis stuff am seing around me i.e in the church of God a yoruba adage says one's hearth is his faith(okan eni ni igbagbo eni) pls is wearing body fited blouse or T shirt with mini or micro mini skirt biblican? Also the issue of not covering head in d church is it biblican.okan eni ni igbagbo eni but. You cant look someladies twice in the church, different thought will be coming your mind which is a great sin,pls help me out.I quite understand your point and I want to assume you seek to know the truth. Let me start with the Yoruba adage you quoted. This is not entirely right in Christianity. The Bible say out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh- No man lights a candle and puts it under the bushel. The light of the world on your inside must radiate out to the outside world. Now to the specifics of your question: The Bible does not give us a dress code but we have principle by which we should dress. One of such is: a man should not wear what belongs to a woman- Apostle Peter also states that women dressing should be with shamefacedness not with outside adorning. If we apply this to current situation; provocative dressing that leaves special part of female organ out should be avoided. Dresses that elicit immoral thinking and passion should be avoided. We should rather dress descently. Now to the question of covering of head in some churches: Paul made mention of this in Corinthians. Covering of head or not covering it does not make you a sinner. It wont disqualify you from making heaven. Paul encourage women to cover their head when they are in the church particularly when praying BUT he also states that a woman long hair is a covering to her head. Finally, he said if this would be coming something of contention, let everybody be for there is no custom as such. |
malvisguy212: unfortunately for you, do you REALY think God will recognise religion? One thing for sure, you must face judgment, either you like it or not.I can understand your frustration...I think you need a time out to calm yourself down before you enter into another thing. Maybe you have been so disappointed. Well, it is only Jesus yoke that is light compared to other yoke you want to carry. |
AlfaSeltzer: Here they come. Apologising and contradicting their god. There is no contradiction here. You can decide to be blinded by your hatred and pessimism. It changes nothing! I decide to post this so you dont confuse innocent people who go about reading some stuffs online. Voltaire said many terrible than this, yet the unimaginable pain he went through at his hospitable bed can not be described. Better learn from history how many people had kicked against Bible and everything it stands far and how they ended. I expect your education and bigotry should have informed you that 'no one kicks against the Bible and end well' No one unless they change. |
The only issue that cast doubt on the identity of Ahinoam the wife of Saul and Ahinoam the Jezreelites, the wife of David is the same wife of Saul could not have given birth to the first son of David. The same mother of Jonathan remember. Jonathan was 42 years old when David who was 15 years old killed Goliath. So it is safe to conclude that Ahinoam the daughter of Ahimaaz wife Saul would be around 62 years. it is therefore difficult it was this same Ahinoam that David married. Yes, the Bible place priority on Ahinoam as the first wife of David, the Jezreelites but we dont know his father's name. Also, i think is only logical for David to resist marrying the Mother of Michal as you know Michal was later restored to David. While Michal was with the other man Saul gave her to by wicked adviser Doeg to Saul. However, the man did not sleep with Michal. One thing is sure, if David did a terrible act of Incest, it would be stated in the scripture but it wasn't. Now for the fact the Prophet Nathan said I gave you Saul harems' doesnt confirmed he married all of Saul wife. Also note, the number of wives allowed by King to marry is eighteen according to Rabbi. Deut 17:17 and David had 6. |
GlobalCareers: What about if one cannot pay online, how can someone book for appointment? Cant someone pay in cash (naira) at VFS on the day of appointment? The acceptable form of payment by UKBA is online payment. Anyone with token for internet banking should be able to handle that. However, there are road side cyber worker that could help with online payment. Though this is not really neat. Also you need to be aware of credibility interview at the embassy though this is just for 3-5mins. If you need further assistance, you could reach me via email. Thanks |
athorello: thanks crown86. In which of these schools can I run a geoscience program that is affordable apart from Heriot-Watt. Already got an offer there but the cost is...umm...very high.I will advise you stick to Heriot Watt University, Manchester is also expensive unless you like to consider another related programme like Petroleum Engineering at Teeside University. Fine if you have a second class upper. |
@Global careers.... Is okay to book an appointment before visiting the VFS for application submission. It is wise to fill the online forms, book the date and time for the interview ( though this could be effected when you have made the visa application fees online) and print out the automated generated form on the UKVI website. You can visit this site: https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ and google some information |
@ Alfa seltzer, God cannot Lie: Hebrews 6:18King James Version (KJV) That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. Now, let me answer your question in the light of available knowledge that I know: The first and the second verses you quoted refers to the same event! Now, is important you understand the context of the event. Ahad a terrible King who had allowed himself to be use by Jezebel and commits gross idolatry against God who crown him King. God is not always happy with the wicked! Here, God didnt tell the lie but merely permitted it to achieve a purpose. Well, that could lead us to a deeper question! Humans are free-moral agent with seat of decision at the mind. This is controlled by the brain and reasoning. This is not properly renewed with right things may affect our decision. I am afraid to say, that God and Satan cannot control this and that is why we are most accountable for our decision until after the white throne Judgement. God position events to help change or motivate our mind but does not force his will on us. Since Ahab cup of indignation is full and is time for judgement his imminent. The spirit decided to volunteer itself for this assignment. We dont know what manner of spirit of this as this was not revealed. Even as the eventual truth was told to Ahab by the genuine prophet Micaiah yet Ahab pride and the people around him did not believe. Ahab choose to go to the battle. There he met his waterloo. It is not uncommon for God to byepass his protocol at times to teach humanity lessons and to show the world He is God. The lie the spirit sold to the other prophets was eventually countered by God's intention to destroy Ahab by his real Prophet Miciah to him yet Ahab wouldnt listen. He that is often reprove and harden his heart shall perish speedily and that without remedy! Now to prophet Jeremiah, in Jer 4:10 that you quote if you read the first verse and other verses; God gave his condition for a truce and to stop the impending danger but as you can see after verse 10. The children of Isreal still have vain thoughts logded within them (verse 14) Also there is a need to understand when God is speaking through the prophet and when the prophet is speaking his mind. Most times, when God is speaking to prophet, they are oblivious of preceding events. Here it wasnt Jeremiah that was deceived, it was Jerusalem and Isreal that decided to be deceived because they ignore the earlier condition of God. They wanted peace without fulfilling their part which is repentance! How many of us wants riches and sound health without fulfilling our commitment to the giver of wealth. Jer 20:7, this wasnt a case of lie, it was the case of a frustrated prophet earnestly waiting for the confirmation of his prophesy but God being patient with his people towards repentance. Prophet Jeremiah therefore conclude because God was slow towards his promise of judgement, He might have deceived him thus far. Which is not the case if you read to chapter 21. The issue raised in Ezekiel is well founded and I am unable to provide an answer regarding this but a probable explanation is this. In the old testament, the general believe and tradition is any supernatural event both good and evil comes from God. This explain the reason why Job said 'can a man receive good from the LORD and not receive evil? They do not have an understanding that something evil could happen from satan. If you look through the scriptures, less was spoken of about the Devil. Now God wont deceive his own prophets to prophesy and still destroy them! What we have is a prophet carried away in idolatry in his own heart and puffed to prophesy. He said to the froward, I shall be froward. Which ever side you want to see God, that is the same way he will reveal himself to you. Now to the new testament, Alfa; you see you were only able to point out a verse in 2Thessalonian 2:11, you see Paul is referring to people whose mind of being made up to perform all manner of unrighteousness. Their mind is made up for evil just like Pharaoh and if by the intent of the wickedness God decides to make it faster and believe whatever they want. is it evil. I dont know if you are an atheist or whatever religion, but the summary of everything is this. God is not evil and does not tempt he anyone with evil. Everyman is drawn away in his own lust. Anyone can choose to believe anything about God but that doesnt change his status, stature, sovereignty and success! |
