I dithered about Wema when it was N4 and then forgot all aobut it due to the distractions of life. Right now its on TS at N15, with rumours of Chinese and European banks sniffing around for a piece of the action. Well, I gues that's the way the cookie crumbles. grin grin grin
BusinessRe: Skye Bank's N50b Hybrid Offer Opens Today by Crownvilla(m): 6:48pm On Jan 14, 2008
Skye abank is a good bank, no doubt. However, it is outrageous that SEC and NSE are allowing them to source the market for more funds without concluding the Skye Shelter Fund offer.

Peeps like me who invested in SSF haven't heard anything from the bank since the offer closed in June 07. Not a single press statement. angry angry huh shocked

The story about Ribadu's mansions was first reported in The Independent; the newspaper owned by James Ibori.

PoliticsRe: New EFCC Boss: Who Will It Be? by Crownvilla(m): 4:59pm On Jan 09, 2008
Col Umar stated that he won't take the job if offered because (according to him) he has disqualified himself by the recent interview he gave about the EFCC and by virtue of being a known critic of the OBJ regime.

Can't remember exactly where I read it, but I'll do a search and post the source, once found.

Guinness closed at N128.01 today. So if sold at today's price, your Dad should get N128.01 x 6,900 = N883,269 before the brokers fees/deductions. grin grin

BusinessRe: Fraud In Wemabank Igboho, Oyo State by Crownvilla(m): 3:55pm On Dec 05, 2007
@ Semacity,

As long as you have proof of all your lodgements and are not in anyway an accomplice to the fraud, you have nothing to worry about.

First, ask for audience with the bank manager to get an official explanation of the status of your bank account. Ask him/her to put this in writing.

If you are not satisfied/still denied access to your account/funds send a written response and give them seven working days to get back to you. Make sure you state that you opened the account in good faith and have not used the account in any illegal/fraudulent activity.

If still not resolved by then, take all your documents including correspondence with the bank to the EFCC. Shikenan.

What phone number do you give in the relevant column on the PO/IPO forms?

I've been using the Nigerian mobile number of a friend, but wonder if anyone has been using their U.K or U.S etc phone numbers.

OBJ has zero intellectual content, he made matters worse by surrounding himself with criminals and dishonest men who gave him wrong advice. See all his policies are being reversed.
@Ziddy,

Not sure if you support the reversal or not. Can you please expantiate? Thanks.

@ Buffead,

Are you taking public transport?

If so, get BUS 38 to Dalston, get off at the last stop on Balls Pond Rd, turn left into Kingsland High Rd. Walk past Kingsland train station, the next turning on the left is Bradbury St.

I hope you enjoy your meal. grin

Murtala Muhammed for the following:

Abuja was the baby/creation of his adminstration

Clear cut programme with dates for return to civillian rule

Appointed constitution drafting commitee of eminent Nigerains to create new constution to facilitate return to civillian rule

Increased number of states from 12 to 19 in line with yearnings of most Nigerians for more states

Probed and found 10 of the 12 governors of the Gowon govt corrupt. To date, (30 years later) not one of those found corrupt has come to the press to cry out 'I'm innocnet' 'It was the work of my enemies' 'It is because I'm a xtian, muslim, from X tribe etc) as per the normal Nigerian practice.

He was very proactive in the fight for majority rule in Southern African states such as Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa. His dynamic foreign policy made Britain, U.S quake in their boots. He gave the freedom fighters financial, moral and logistical support. Nigeria became a safe haven for the nationalists and many came to study or as a home away from home. He also nationalised BP and Barclays bank to show the Brits that Nigeria was serious in its opposition to minority rule and apartheid.
BusinessRe: Dangote Flour Mill Certificate by Crownvilla(m): 8:08pm On Nov 27, 2007
@ Onyenwe

The stock hasn't been listed yet because the authorities are still compiling the results/proceeds of the IPO. Once this process is completed, there will be an announcement to confirm formal listing of the stock on the NSE.

After the formal listing, share certificates would be sent in the post to share holders that didn't indicate their CSCS numbers on their forms.

Pls go ahead and upload the PP forms for Fidson and Cocoa processores. Thanks.

BusinessRe: Lagos Building Investment Corporation. Private Placement by Crownvilla(m): 3:35pm On Nov 20, 2007
@Etin;

A copy of the application form was scanned and emailed to me but you can hardly read the text. I had intended to complete the form and scan back to someone in Nigeria that would submit the form on my behalf but that is not possible due to the sorry state of the application form.

The offer closes on 27/11/07, so unless I can identify someone coming from Nigeria (to bring a hard copy) in the next few days, this looks like non starter. What a shame though, this PP is definitely worth investing in.

I'm 100% against the fees of N150,00 to N350,000K per session. It was Mdsocks who said the fees are good not me.
