Cutting OPEC's output alone wouldn't amount to much if major non-OPEC producers (Russia) continues with its output. While Saudi is battle ready for the current prices, other members such as Nigeria & Venezuela are feeling the heat. OPEC is now trying to cooperate with Russia on a possible deal and it was the 'positive' response from the Russian Oil Minister that pushed up prices during the week.

The speculations, forecast & predictions continues and only time will tell.

Meanwhile, the linkage between crude oil and LNG prices is about 70% (said Mr Babs during a Senate hearing last week). The rise or fall of crude prices does not immediately affect LNG prices, it however does in the long run.

My question is, is it oil prices that is holding NLNG from concluding this recruitment or something else?

The crude market sef... Mere hearing that OPEC oil minister will meet in Feb has pushed up prices around $35/b. Who knows, prices might have bottomed and the market becoming bullish again.

100 GTs would cost NLNG $15m pa (my wild estimates). I'm not sure the addition or removal of this amount would make any significant difference in nlng books (yes, even with the low prices).

We wait...

Receipt of NLNG's success mail/Invitation for Medicals would make me as happy (if not happier) than these guys on the following:

The only thing I am saw is that everybody (including nnpc) is getting set for 30mtpa. In all the debacle, my employer has fulfilled its obligation by accordingly remitting tax to firs & dividend to nnpc. Its left for the president, nnpc & ngf to agree a common ground, my nlng should be left out of this.

So if you asked 3 questions, What are the requirements, What is the preferred location and what is the budget? You believe you will be alright? None of the options satisfied the 3, you had to make a compromise. You needed to have asked enough questions to justify the compromise. But obviously too little time and too fast information reel out.
I even remember the preferred location was vague. We will be alright in the end.

Come oh! Its now 8yrs since our coy recruited GTs. I'd presume folks hired in '07 have now been promoted twice (aleast & atmost), leaving the junior staff cadre vacant. I think we need more people this time

Btw, who knows NLNG's hierrachial structure, I.e, employee levels from GT to GM?
