Stocks is really a long term investment. All funds should not be dumped in it. You should have a ratio between equity and mmf to balance things.

If I had started in Jan, I would be 95% up. I recently knew there are negative years whereby no profit will be made for those years.

I have just subscribed to CSOF.

Thought about this question as well, but in the end, the facts that the company that has been operating for almost 20 years, is recognised as one of the top stockbrokers in the country (which also means they'll have access to great deal flow) with very positive ratings from international agencies etc, all tipped the balance in favour of CSOF for me. In fact in doing my research i realised that Zedcrest has appointed CardinalStone multiple times to lead their (the broader Zedcrest Group) commercial papers issuances. So if Zedcrest trusts CardinalStone, why won't I trust them too?

20% difference in it's single first year is not enough reason to invest that amount in a fund that hasn't reached 6 months old. My goal is long term capital appreciation (I don't intend to withdraw the money in the next maybe 20 years) so stability is more important than momentary gains. I guess if one was planning to withdraw in less than a year the calculus might be different.

In all, after the initial year lock-in period or a couple of years, if it looks like Zedcrest is consistently outperforming, nothing stops me from gradually moving over profits from CSOF to them or even do another bulk deposit.

My bank here has an option to use a third-party broker to purchase Intel and NVIDIA. After doing some detailed analysis, I decided to go with Intel. My portfolio is heavily allocated to "tech stocks."

If I am assign my average price will be 116 which I am a bit scare of..too high. But they have paid me premieum on the contract already. So I cant lose both way.

My broker has a robo platform that buys the dip when my ETF moves away from its portfolio allocation. If I don't buy the dip, the robot will sell my units to raise cash and buy the dip. Furthermore, buying the dip in foreign market is quite good for me as I need more units in a cheaper price to meet my goal. Furthermore, the ETF prices are usually unstable when the market opens, It might dip heavily today and tomorrow morning, it will bounce back aggressively.

Nice strategy moving your funds into foreign stocks, but it might be worth having a second look into buying large cap Nigeria stocks and forgetting them till any year you decide to move back to Nigeria, if you ever have such plan to retire here. Even if you don't have such plan, you can still invest and get the reward in the future.

The reason is Nigeria is still an emerging market, most of our stocks are still under valued so if you buy and forget now, you essentially buying at a discount. If anything, just invest in the FUGAZ stocks and continue to invest abroad. You will be glad you did.

This is foreign equity; you can buy Naija equity when it's dipping as well.
