Top up Zedcrest and CS aggressively; CS will pay a dividend next month. Make sure you reinvest the dividend and withdraw some for shopping as well. Ogborokiri: Paramount, Zedcrest, and CardinalStone boss |

Actually, the chart is research from CardinalStone, and the forecast has been accurate with the market trend. ollypass: This the major draw back of an equity fund ...you can't read it in a chart the way you would an individual stock |

It might be better to stay put till Monday to see how it goes; I don't believe the T+1 made the market bearish; it has always been like this since the beginning of the year. I'm trying to find the historical NGX chart from CS; I will ask someone on this thread. ollypass: Am just 3 months old but wish I had hopped in at the start of the year .. Experts believe T+1 implementation is the cause of this present crash ..policy uncertainty...with the green of yesterday..don't know if I should NCA today or wait to see how Monday will close. |

I know POTUS plays a cat-and-fish game with stocks; nevertheless, I'm a long-term investor, no shaking or moving. I've seen what the market can do and undo. ollypass: Newbies ? even the so called initiated here will dive in. the lust for kanayo alone that's depicted here is a testament. Only few have a long goal perspective in view here. Some haven't even spent two months and are already 'cashing out ' , bet naija mentality. If you want to be a day trader, fine. But approaching equity with same strategy? how is compounding suppose to work for you in time if you try to keep jumping in and out of short cycles in the attempt to time only bull runs? As for manipulation...all markets are manipulated, just the degree that matters based on the liquidity of that market. POTUS has been buying stock of different companies and weeks later go to visit such company or even tweet about it ...and guess what happens to the stock prices of said company after ward ? |

One can easily run to MMF if the market goes south in NGX; for foreign stocks, there is no turning back. Moreover, a correction is needed as most foreign stocks already did +100% to +200% from Jan till now. A lot of investors on this thread just want green and apples; financial education should be taught clearly to fend off "FOMO" and Ponzi scheme mentality. I'm quite sure if MMM comes with stocks that bring greens all year round, a lot of newbies will rush into it. Allboiz: That's huge. NGX is soft when compared to some stock markets.
Only the strong-minded and the long term players win.
It's not for the weak abeg.
No wonder they advised people of age 60+ to avoid anything equity 😂 |

🤣🤣🤣 🤣 Are you implying that if the market has a bullish run for 1-2 weeks, it won't go back to reversal or a pullback? How do you expect the market to be flying in greens for months without correction? Buying the dip makes you more money if you know the game. Gabriel411: Self-correction doesn't happen this quickly; it takes months, even years. If it happens this sudden, it's a manipulation. Take it or leave it. |

Investing in the stock market or any equity drama is not for the faint of heart; if you are not a day trader or a swing trader, I recommend being extremely patient in order to see significant returns. The market fluctuates, and a single year can produce negative returns. Except for "crypto," those who made gains from high-risk investments held through volatility. If you have made a lot of money, take your gains; however, doing DCA pays off in the long run. Finally, if you expect to make quick money from the market, you will be disappointed.

50% foreign stocks, 40% large-cap stocks, and the remaining 10% to equity fund managers. Moreover, you have to really keep an eye on the foreign stocks portfolio. I do top up twice a week, and as of now, I am getting more than the daily percentage, and if it goes south, I will also burn as well. (Market returns +1%, I will make +$105-+$106) mizGene: Thank you, sir. That split is across what products? My base is flexible, so I'm looking at investing in both places. I've read up quite a bit of the thread and done some research on my own but I'm particularly clueless about the UK side of things still. |

If you're based overseas, your best bet is usually sticking to foreign ETFs and solid Nigerian large-cap stocks rather than going with Zedcrest or Paramount. For beginners, using a 50/40/10 split is a great way to keep risks low while you learn the ropes. So far, my foreign investments have done exceptionally well, bringing in much larger gains than my investments back home. mizGene: Hi everyone,
If I wanted to see the trend over time of Zedcrest and Paramount equity funds, where would I look? It doesn't seem to be readily available in the apps. |

Most fund managers in Nigeria should have that test before accepting any investors. My bank and broker do a rigorous test to identify the risk level before making any subscription decision for new investors. Bluearrow: Don't see it as an insult. Before u invest in gt equity, they will give u test assessment, if u are not ready to lose 25% of your capital, then they tell u to stick to mmf & not equity. The people u think are insulting u are only telling u on time to leave this market, so u don't develop high bp.
Alot of u guys were drawn to equity because u were seeing upward movement, same way the market can go up for a month is same way it can go down for a month or even 6 months, so prepare your mind if u still wish to remain in this market or go to mmf now because your money can still drop more than what u are seeing now. Election is approaching & anything can happen. |
