Angry Nigerians have been signing a petition started by Sikemi Okunrinboye and some other two. The petition kicks against the social media bill championed by APC, Deputy Chief Whip, Sen. Sabi Abdullahi and Sen. Mohammed Sani Musa.

Stating the reasons behind the bills, the senator said he wants to curb the spreading of false information by social media users.

The bill about becoming a law also stated the penalty attached to defaulters, which includes, a fine of N300,000 for an individual and N10,000,00 for corporate bodies and imprisonment of up to three years or both.

Nigerian ace singer turned politician, Banky W, some other celebrities like Simi and other Nigerians have been tweeting against this bill, supporting other Nigerians.

The COZA rape case which has made rounds on social media has been concluded as court billed N1m in a rape case filed by Busola Dakolo against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Court 12, sitting at Bwari, Abuja has dismissed the case filed by Busola Dakolo against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).

Justice Oathman A. Musa, in giving the judgment, held that the matter amounts to injustice and an abuse of judicial process adding that the case is empty and purely sentimental. Justice Musa said that the case was aimed more at cruelty than obtaining justice.

The court also awarded costs of N1,000,000 against Busola Dakolo and held that the fine should have been 10 times more because the court’s time was wasted.

Dakolo filed the suit against Fatoyinbo after alleging that he raped her in 2002 and caused her emotional distress. Fatoyinbo’s team of lawyers, led by Dr. Alex Izinyon (SAN), had however argued that the prayers in the suit were unguardable by the court and that the suit was frivolous and an abuse of court process.

Fatoyinbo wasn’t in court because he’s not required to appear in person for a civil matter. He was however represented by his lawyers.

A woman in a video clip shared her experience with Uber drivers and warns the public to be very careful with uber drivers.

The woman in the video explained how she requested for an uber and got in thinking the driver must have started the trip but not knowing the uber driver had not even started the trip.

Fortunately for her, she was observant enough to have noticed the driver had not started the trip and had asked him to tap his phone to confirm if he had started the trip, only to confirm his phone wasn’t on.

In the video clip, she explained how she quickly jumped out of the car as she noticed the strange movements of the driver, she feared the driver’s plan was to take her somewhere else probably kidnap her, according to her she would have been in more danger if she wasn’t very active.

The acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has charged the new Batch of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members to shun any act of corruption particularly the infamous cyber crimes and all internet related frauds.

Magu stated this on Tuesday, November 12th, 2019 at the Lagos State NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, during a sensitization lecture titled "EFCC and the role of the Youth in curbing corruption in Nigeria".

The EFCC Chair who was represented by Dolapo Adeniran of the Public Affairs Directorate, Lagos zonal office, said that rather than engaging in criminal activities that will always lead to regrets, the youths should focus on building a beautiful future and a corrupt-free Nigeria by upholding hard work, integrity, and discipline.

Sequel to the rumors making rounds on social media that the Azman Air caught fire yesterday after a passenger started a fire in the aircraft, Azman air, however, has confirmed this to be false.

The airline made this public announcement via its twitter handle, confirming the incident to be false.

In a documentary they uploaded on twitter handle they wrote;

Fire in our aircraft, operating #Lagos to #Abuja is false!

There was an air return on the same ground but the aircraft was thoroughly checked by AIB and they confirmed it was a false alarm thereby declaring the aircraft fit and safe to fly.

We operated the same airline to #Abuja and returned to #Lagos immediately after.

A boarding school in Gombe, Government Science Secondary School, Kaltungo in Southern Gombe State, always pray against rainfall as a result of their dilapidated building.

Reports gathered by Punch correspondents, says the students of the school are always praying against rainfall, even the teachers.

According to the pupils, they barely sleep as they are awake to always park water whenever it rains, they also added that they have converted most of their classrooms to hostels, still is not enough for the population.

They also complained that they have over 26 classrooms but just two are good whenever it rains it disrupts the lessons as students ran for safety.
