Hi TemitopeJ16. We are in the same shoes. Applied Oct 13 for PGC at GBC. No update from CIC. Its like PGC applicants(Paper route) are been placed on hold. I have not witnessed a trv refusal or testimony for PGC winter (paper route) on this thread. The closest I have seen is a PGD. Please be patient cos I believe VO is thorough with our application. Let's still be hopeful. Cheers!

I agree with you completely. Worst holiday season ever.

Hello everyone,i am a silent follower of this thread.I bless God for making it possible to share this wonderful testimony..I just recieved a mail for passport request. It can only be God.I lost faith in my application after reading facts from this great forum..
Applied for PBD in Business administration.(Thompson rivers university).
H.N.D - Electrical /Electronics Engineering
8 years Experience in Oilfield sector.

Congratulation, truly happy for you and looking forward to my celebration. You do not have renew your passport so long it exceeds
6months to the expiry date. You will be able to transfer your study permit to your new passport upon renewal for a small fee. Wish you the best as you prepare for departure. When did you submit your application?

Please i need advice on this: My international passport expires Jan 2018 and my programme is for 2 years, starting january 2017.I was unable to renew my passport, was told my validity still more than 6 months.I hope this wont cause any issues with my TRV.

I need advice from gurus in the house please. I need to make a transfer of 1m from the account I used in my trv application, do you think it will be detrimental to my application?

The facts are, I applied using one account because an agent whom I later realized to be more ignorant than myself adviced me to. I wanted to add my domicilliary account which has substantial amount in it with reasonable flow of money. I'm sponsoring myself, predicted the fall of the naira so I liquidated most of my naira into dollar at the rate of 196. As a result, I applied with only 5.3m as my closing balance. Thus, if I make use of 1m I will have 4.3 in it. I paid my first year tuition in full, my course is for 2years. Should I get statement of account of my dom account accross to Canadian consulate in Accra to make up for any financial shortfall? What do you all think or am I just been paranoid? Thank you for your urgent response house.

What step can i take guru in the house.

I'm truly sorry with what you are going through. There is nothing you can do about it until the estimated time for the processing of your application elapse, upon which you can contact CIC through web form, thereafter your application will be given priority. If the estimated time given to you when you submitted your application is yet to elapse, your message to CIC will be ignored.
Hello Everyone,
I have been a silent observer here since June, 2016 when my first visa application was 12weeks and counting. I was eventually refused august 19th (applied since march) reasons were level of education and current employment status , like others that applied for a PGD program. It was frustrating and exhausting. At first I didn't want to reapply because I didn't know where to start from and how to convince the visa officers. My best option will be going for a masters degree, but at the level of my career that's not what I want at the moment. So I contacted my school is Canada and they requested for the CAIPS note. It came back after 28days and their reasons were with my level of education ( BnSC Nursing) and the fact that I'm currently employed they don't see any reason I should be going for a post graduate diploma programme so therefore they don't think I'm a genuine student that would return after studies. When I got this all hope was lost. Getting a master degree was the only way out I said to myself. Then school offered to be my agent if I want to reapply and gave some tips like stressing how getting further degree is not what's next in my career, how international exposure in clinical and medical field will help get a more satisfying job in Nigeria. I took my time and composed another letter of explanation( my first letter of explanation wasn't well detailed) . I poured my heart out and explained my short and long term goals and how the diploma program will really help to achieve them. I was encouraged by friends and family to give it one more trial. I summoned all the courage, picked myself up and gave it my all one more time. I got letter of introduction and study leave permit from where I'm working and most importantly I basically committed everything into God's hand because it's a miracle I really needed. I worked on my faith and I did an upfront medicals( wasn't called for medicals in my first application)
I got bank statement( my dad is the sponsor) and sponsor's letter.
On October 28th I submitted through paper route and I prayed and hoped for a miracle. I set my mind on 2months for a miracle to happen.
To the glory of God the miracle worker I tracked my application on the 1st of December and I saw your passport has been dispatched from accra to VFS on 30/11/2016. I didn't believe it at first, I had to collect a colleagues phone to check again and I saw the same thing. I was scared, at the same time thanking God for fast response. I didn't know what the decision was but I just held on to my faith that it has been approved.
I haven't collected my package from lagos as I type this. But I know God that has started this good thing will finish it.
I'm typing this long story to encourage someone, we can always give it one more trial, search within your heart and ask yourself is this what is really next for me?

Congratulation. I can relate with your testimony. Thanks for sharing.

My advise would have been you waiting till after Xmas... You are aware, that contact got same airline below 300k for some people on this thread! Pls always consider a cheaper option oooo.... and then send the balance to me.. shocked grin
Best wishes dear.

You can fly from Accra, it's way cheaper than Nigeria. Check it out before you make a decision.
Goodmorning All. please what kind of permit do I apply for my child who I want to accompany me to canada. Those who have gone through it please help. I want to apply for a study permit and I also want to apply for my daughter to accompany me but I don't know if i should apply for a visit or study permit for her. She is 4 years

Exceptions: Studying without a study permit
In some cases, minor children do not need a study permit to study in Canada. These cases include:

minor children attending kindergarten;
minor children who are refugees or refugee claimants, or whose parents are refugees or refugee claimants; and
minor children who are already in Canada with parents who are allowed to work or study in Canada, and who want to attend pre-school, primary or secondary school.

The rule on CIC site states that, when a minor parent is authorized to work or study in Canada, the minor doesn't need a study permit. All you need do is apply for a visiting visa for her and state in your study permit application that she will be accompanying you. I haven't done it personally but I asked a friend who did. I hope it helps.
P.S you need the child's birth certificate and that of the father as well as an affidavit from the father showing consent otherwise you be perceived as a child trafficker.

tplacid:

But I thought CIC needed to send you a mail before you check or something........so peeps can just check their accounts randomly without a mail from CIC.

Sometimes the message from CIC comes in late. Just like when your bank account has been credited or debited but you are yet to receive an alert from your bank.

Thanks to all those who shared their success stories and the most honor is bestowed unto those who shared their rejection stories, nothing can ever defeat you in life because you are people of courage. Never knew Nigerians could be this communal until I stumbled upon this thread. I submitted my application since September 30th via paper mode and there is no update other than medical passed. It is the positive people on this thread that is keeping me sane. Thank you.
