pc guru: I use windows 8 and ubuntu dual boot, Windows 8 works flawlessly with apache, do pple still use wamp, at this age get Xampp i use Zend Server since i use Zend Framework.

I still use wamp. Feel xampp is bloated,

Are there any pro-xampp differences? Pray do tell

You can try amazon ec2 instance it's free for the first year. You can install a lamp stack on a Linux AMI and have full control over your server.

Djtm: me too. Apache has stopped working. I'm also thinking of running win 7 alongside win 8 or downloading another apache server.

The reason why apache is not working might be because Microsoft IIS is using port 80
Try configuring apache to use another port. The other option is to stop IIS.

Cool idea by the way, this should be a mobile app making use of the geo-location, being able to detect changes and, probably when someone is in a moving car, (the location changes faster)
Also that way you can actually verify people's location before allowing them to update traffic info about that location

Depression + loneliness = suicidal thoughts;

People can be depressed about a lot of things, when they don't have people to talk to things about they begin to contemplate suicide.
As someone who dealt with suicidal thoughts in the past myself, I contemplated suicide because there was actually no one i could communicate my problems with. I felt so bad and so sad; it was a very dark phase in my life. My parents and siblings were willing to listen but i was so sure they couldn't understand my problems i didnt tell them anything
I smiled to the world and conceived the evil thoughts pulling at my heart

It was untili spoke to a counselor, Not a professional anyway, just picked a random pastor's no and called him. he called me back and we spoke at length, i kept on going to his place, he listened to me despite my anti-religious views.
After i had told him about all my inner fears, i felt the burden lifted away from my heart. Slowly but surely i solved my problems (still have a couple lingering though).

Now i can look forward to a clearer and happier future, the suicidal thoughts of yesterday now looked back upon as a thing of the past

GraphicsPlus: There are cool features and opportunities Seun is yet to leverage to turn NL into a goldmine.
I mean, for the past 8 years, NL seems to be going very slow.
There are things Seun needs to put in place to expand this forum to yield great income for him.

I think he probably needs to drive more user engagement, people visit nairaland either to source for information or to interact with users. There are enough ways to interact with the information, the users need to be able to interact with each other, say

notifications when i'm quoted or replied to e.g. you have to rummage through all your followed posts before you can read this particular post and so do i if you reply me. Reduces the user interaction level

say up-voting and down-voting (to make the forum saner).

I actually had an idea of creating a plugin for blogs and social networks for randomly showing missing people based on the viewers location(ip address). Planned on asking major blogs like linda 's nd bella to help push it through.

Was halfway through the stuff but i baulked at the bureaucratic bottlenecks and legal shit i had to go through.(#teamNerd )

Can anybody partner with me to pick up the legal stuff please i would do all the technical work required.
