Is it necessary to have a house in the village when you spend most of your life outside the village? My uncles hardly visit their mansions in the village. Other people are just occupying the property. They only come back once in a blue moon. They can just breeze in and breeze out tomorrow.
My question now is, is it not better to have that mansion in the city, than rent an apartment in the city. You are a tenant in the city in one poor make-shift house, but own a duplex in the village that is empty. Is it even economically wise? It baffles logic and common sense. Tell me why the SE should have more states. By population they are up to 11% of Nigeria's population and the total area of the present 5 states is 3.1% of Nigerian landmass which is less than half the size of many states in other parts of the country. The lage st of them is Enugu state which is not bigger than some LGAs in other parts of the country. And none of the states is economically viable since they can't even pay salaries.

You forget, politics is about size and numbers, Ijaws are close to Igbos in population and don't have as much representation as you do.

The Southeast cannot get what it wants without partnering with other regions.
