onegentleguy: Following my last post, several persons have been asking what my views are on the mkt, and if by implication, I only see a mkt underperformance outside a Peter Obi win? Here's a straightforward answer... In the near term, I like to think that the mkt uptrend will continue as technicals hold up. However, mid to Long term direction will to a large extent depend on this election and what follows after it.
With what I have seen and heard since 25th, belief system appears to have decelerated as in-country risk premium pushes further upwards. We need to, as a matter of urgency redeem whatever is left of the country's image. ...the stakes are sky high now! No country can witness effective growth (RPC in view) with this very low level of image amongst the community of nations.
If a country can not conduct a task as simple as that of a free and fair elections, then it becomes very easy for ANY country to give her a BAD NAME and in time blacklist her. Not that we had it good before now anyway, but this is yet another case of missing out on the opportunity to turnaround what has clearly been a wrong trajectory and MAKE THINGS RIGHT. Needless to highlight what almost always happens when "a dog is given a bad name"!
From an investment standpoint, you might only expect foreign direct and portfolio investment to continue to narrow down. Quite frankly, the ripple effect can be all-touching.
This is why I tell folks to lower their expectations, given the crop of current leaders we have. ...the rut in the system is beyond deep!
I will and will always be non-partisan. I prefer to look out for opportunities in difficulties. The question is; What opportunities are there for an investor to "bet for or against the system" in view of what it prescribes? How will I as an investor benefit from a Peter Obi, Atiku or Tinunu presidency?
I think the 1st name will bring about a robust and growth driven market than the last 2 names. With the middle and last name, I see likely continuation in the status quo (low investor apathy, weak cooperate governance structures etc) with pockets of facile positives every now and then. ...the mkt may not align towards the much desired sustainable path to growth.
A Peter Obi win? Likely gonna be a "positive explosion"- Riding on the high believability index already attached to the name and its brand. Countries live on change driven by hope and believe!
A Tinubu win? NAHCO- Already a great coy, but it could favour them even more as more Nigerians will likely seek to "japa". Oando, Ardova and a few O&G names- For near obvious reasons. Brewery Ind- Frustration likely to highten... "revenge with the bottle" A few Manufacturing coys and insurance Names.
An Atiku win? Some banking names- For obvious reasons...
I just wanna think of how to benefit from the system. Pls prepare your minds for all outcomes! Nigeria is a failed state.
It is well. My brother, I disagreed with you on some of your views regarding what the market outlook would be if the second or the third person emerged. In as much as I am not political, the second has sent his blue prints on his plan for the overall capital market development in particular establishment of commodity exchange. I remember vividly that he sent Lagos state Governor to close the commodity market around October and also presented his blue print for the overall market to stockbrokers and capital of industry present that day. I believe that if any of the candidate emerged, be A, B or C, market will improve compared to what we have now |

[quote author=customstreet post=120319378]Hello Folks,
Has anybody looks at MRS Oil Plc? I see the price beyond current N16. First, second and third quarter results are -41k, 1.29, and 1.26 culminating into N2.30 EPS for 9 months. Extrapolating for last quarter, we may likely have Unaudited N3.30-N3.50 per share. For my own little contribution to this group, I will recommend MRS for medium term holding. All things being equal, I predict between N20-N23. Please Do your own research.
Has anybody look at this? Congratulation to the winners |

I was thinking this election suppose to be a challenge between the elites and the masses, but right now it is between masses and the masses and elites v elites. I don’t see any progress going forward with this constitution. It is the bane of our problem. Atiku, Obi or Tinubu will perform less than average with this unholy constitution |

Radiant01: I believe wike group are the authentic PDP members while Atiku group are impostors. Look at wike group, only ortom has defected from PDP to APC and back to PDP,makinde, wike ipeazu, infeanyi, Donald duke, jona jang, bode George,Jerry gana, fayose and the rest have not defect from PDP to another party. But check out Atiku group, sule lamido and aliyu babaginda, udom Emmanuel That did not change party, from Atiku,Ayu,tanbuwal, dino, dele momodu, Daniel bwalla, obaseki, ademola adeleke, saraki, dogara, olagunsoye oyinlola etc All changes party and are now controlling the structure of the party. That is not totally correct 1. Fayose decamped from PDP to Labour Party to contest for senatorial seat and later decamped back to PDP to contest election fro his second term 2. Seyi Makinde decamped from SDP to PDP to win OYO governorship election |

yomi961: At the KADInvest programme in Kaduna, he spoke about how Governor Nasir El-Rufai turned a “rotten situation to a bad one”. In Kano last year he revealed his plan to recruit 50 million youths into the military in order to tackle unemployment while he went off tangent at a book launch back in July, talking about “cassava, garri, agbado, eba and ewa.
“Earlier this year, he advised Nigerians to go and renew their expired Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) thereby causing confusion in the polity until the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued a rebuttal,”
He continually argues that he doesn’t need physical strength to lead Nigeria but only the mental capacity. However, his refusal to publicly display this intelligence and articulate his thoughts should worry every well-meaning Nigerians who are still suffering from the seven-year misrule of the All-Progressives Congress that has brought poverty, inflation and unemployment to an unprecedented height
Due to his continual refusal to be accountable, the Lagos godfather had to be publicly invited to the studio by Arise Television, an invitation that he remains too timid to honour since nobody would be able to teleguide him,” I disagree with you on this with your last paragraph. The man said, he cannot appear on a TV show where all participant are pro-PDP. He said, the owner of the TV station, Atiku, Kwankwaso, Peter Obi are one way or the other Pro PDP . You can only jump into conclusion, if has been invited by other TV stations and refused to appear. Meanwhile, I am very sure that Atiku will not appear if he is invited by TVC television station. So they all understand the game. |

Prechgold1180: Good evening house
Sorry to bore you with my issues
My mum and dad separated 24 years ago
Reason for separation My only biological bro died from malaria My dad was unable to come up with money for treatment
My mum moved out took me with her She remarried 2 years after Gave birth to 4 leaving me with 4 step sibling Some years back I heard my mum saying my dad has other children ( I don’t even know them ) I don’t even know my dad
I am a graduate now
So comfortable in life Got lands houses and cars to my name
My problem now is I feel empty whenever I think of my dad More like I don’t know my root
I plan on visiting mums home for Christmas The problem is she hates my dad so much any thing about that topic gets her angry
I don’t know how to convince to go show me my dads house
I don’t know possible ways to get her to show me my dad hus
Don’t even know if my dad is good Don’t even know his family Don’t even know my village Everything I call family is just from my mother side
Zero from my dad side I wish I can know them My brother, there is no smoke without fire . For your mummy to have behaved like that, there is more to it. I had an experience like that for a woman that got a child for me. Though, she claimed that I was the father, but I started doubting her because of the way she hates me to a large extend. This hatred made me to conduct a DNA test. To say the most, the result showed I was not the biological father. This lady till today still says I am the biological father, but her hatred toward me is second to none. Please look at your mummy hatred toward your daddy and examine why a man can abandoned a child without looking back. There is more to it than what your mummy was telling you going by my own experience |

yMcy56: Oga Mpeace I know say you be lawyer..... .....but before employing legal means, try and do small findings, this issue might not even be so hard like that, may be negligence on the part of someone....
Get your broker, CSCS and APR on their toes, involve SEC and let them sort it out for you thru email/phone calls....or if closer, physical visits.
Legal should come as a last option........but na my own I dey talk sha, una language dey different...... but with that, you still needed facts. Hope I'm not blocking someone case here.... Just to add to what u said. Any infringement in the capital market to be address must follow the following orders: 1. You may get a lawyer or the investor himself to write to the securities house who committed the infringement 2. If it cannot be resolved, then write NGX to table your complains. The letter should be addressed to Surveillance and Monitoring Dept of BDR. The letter may be written by the investor or his lawyer. 3. NGX will forward your complain to the Securities house and ask them to restitute you within a stipulated date 4. If the house cannot restitute you within a stipulated date given to them, another letter would be written to them for the second chance for the investor to be restituted by the Securities house. 5. After the second attempt, and the house cannot restitute the investor, the house trading will be suspended 6. Depending on the value of the infringement, if the value is more than 5million, EFCC would be drafted in to take over the case 7. The house would be invited for all parties meeting with the investors by the NGX 8. If the house license has been withdrawn and the house is declared death, the investor will be compensated to the tune of N400,000 by NGX from the IPF (investor Protection Fund). 9. If the investor decides to collect the money, an agreement and application form will be filled and sign by the investor exonerating NGX from any legal tussle going forward. 10. However, if the investor decides not to collect the money, the case will be referred to SEC using APC to take over the case. Meanwhile EFCC will still be on the onslaught against the securities house or the person that committed the crime 11. If the house is inactive but not dead, on the part of the NGX, the case would be referred to the DRP to look at a way forward 12. If DPR cannot find solution, and it is obvious that securities house committed the offense, the trading license could be withdrawn by panel constituted by the NGX 13. If the case cannot be resolved by APC of SEC, which takes the form of High court, then the case is referred to DPR is SEC 14. DPR is similar to appeal court, if the case cannot be resolved, it then means that it will be transfer to IST which is the final arbiter in r try he capital market case 15. EFCC will handle the criminal case of the matter while IST will resolve the civic aspect of the matter Add your own to this please |

Mpeace: Fidelity bank result really good. Eps of N1.32 as against 92kobo of last year. We pray they improve on their dividend. 30-40kobo or more will not be bad. Yeah, good result . I strongly believed they will do good dividend compared to 22k paid last year. Let us wait . The payout rate last years was 23.90%. Let us be conservative to have audited EPS of 120k against unaudited result of 132k and apply 23.90%, we will be having dividend payout of about 29k. We are waiting. I believe the bank can still do up to 320k per share |
