There are a lot of books to read on this subject matter. We can only summarized the difference between the two here and cite one or two practical examples but they are much more detail in on real sense. I will advise u press a goggle search engine and see plenty of write up on these two areas

2. Stock recommendations for short term

As per this, it is only luck and insider information that can give your return on short term basis. There is no stock u cannot make short term profit from but like I said, it is all about luck. If I can define what u mean by short I will possibly up to one year, I will advise Transcorp, Fidelity, Academy press, UPDC, but all is still about luck

3. Take on vitaform at the current price of 22.0 considering dividend pay-out

The current dividend yield is close to 7%. To me, I personally see that this is not the time to enter this company, it is either you hold or sell season . If the company can bring out it’s first quarter result with superlative performance, it will hovering around 20-25. U can still get a higher yield in the market that will give u more than 10%, rather than buying Vitafoam at the current price.

Just my personal belief.

Is there any possibility of merger or acquisition among the following companies in the foreseeable future?

Road Plc suffered the same faith before it eventually wound up. Declared 1 for 4 bonus and 45k dividend. Took almost a year before the dividend was paid and bonus never acted upon. I wrote a lot of petitions to SEC, NGX, African Prudential and the company itself, all to no avail.

For me, I don’t think SEC is actually protecting the interest of shareholders but the interest of anybody that contributes to the SEC pocket. If u check very well concerning inaction of SEC to approve the corporate action embarked upon by those companies, it would not be more than money issue- companies not meeting making one payment or the others to SEC

Learn Africa, Fidson (though Fidson is not a penny stock again), Courtville, Transcorp.......and maybe UPDC.

** Academy and UPL : Very illiquid.
** Abbey Building: Not very familiar with this. Also illiquid.
** Prestige: Trades in range.
** Wemabank: Wema is good BUT you have to wait till the issue of reconstruction or whatever is sorted out first.

*** REMEMBER: This is strictly my opinion.
*** ALSO NOTE: That you have to time your entry right. Try to pick at bargain prices.
*** ALSO REMEMBER: That Courtville is delisting, you can start picking in tranches. They are yet to announce the buy-out price........once announced and is fair getting cheaper may be a bit difficult by then.

When I surfed through internet looking for it’s fair price, I came across 2 American valuation sites with one saying it’s fair price is 58k and the other put it at 179k. When I examined their balance sheet, it book value was 102k. Though, there free cash flow per share as at third quarter was not too strong enough to match the least price mentioned above.

Subjectively, what is your own projection of the buy out price?

Go and read up market efficiency theory. I will summarize it for you.

1 Weak form efficient market - NSE belongs here.
In such markets, fundamental analysis and insider information are very useful, but technical analysis is USELESS.

2. Semi-strong form efficient markets - fundamental analysis becomes useless in addition to technical analysis.

3. Strong form efficient markets - insider information also becomes useless.

In NSE, one MD can scatter the chart you are using overnight, by arbitrarily reducing or not paying dividend, even with big profit declared (e.g UBA). This is the least of what can happen to you in NSE.
Wale Tinubu and others are on another level

So leave big grammar, deal with the price and volume information that is available to you as an outsider, and pray for luck.

No western investment strategy can work effectively in NSE as it is a field, filled with lawless wolves

And by the way, NSE has zero in fundamental analysis as the root metric which is good corporate governance in the constituent companies is highly lacking. So every other thing that looks like fundamental is Zero.

1. Share reconstruction @1 for 4 from 7 billion plus outstanding shares to now 1.8 billion shares

2. Share reconstruction done when the price was N0.42 per share culminating to N1.64 post share reconstruction.

3. 4th quarter EPS unaudited result based on old share was N0.12. Based on the new shares, it amounted to N0.48 EPS

4. Last year dividend was N0.05. Going by the ratio of share reconstruction, dividend of N0.20 is expected.

5. The last trading price was N1.42 which is equivalent to N0.35 of old shares

6. With expected dividend of 20k, dividend yield would be 14.08%

Can LASACO surprise investor with 20k dividend going by the analysis?
