President Muhammadu Buhari, says leaders who undermine the economy by denying workers their benefits, while stuffing their personal accounts with public funds will not escape the current anti-corruption dragnet.

The president stated this when he received All Progressives Congress delegation from Benue State, led by Senator George Akume, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

President Buhari said the Federal Government’s bailout to states and Paris Club funds were basically to alleviate the sufferings of the people, describing misappropriation as unjust and unfair to workers.

He said: “I honestly don’t know how people sleep when workers have not been paid. The workers have to pay rent, buy food, send their children to school and they have health care to take care of.

“I assure you that my main interest is all Nigerians in all parts of the country.

“Therefore, if anybody who tries to create any impression that I prefer any group across ethnicity or religion let him dare me by being caught red-handed stealing public funds. I will deal with him.’’

The President told the APC delegation that the Federal Executive Council had been monitoring the plight of workers across the country and utilisation of the bailout and Paris Club funds by some states.

“I thank you for your courage to come and see me. This visit has resuscitated our morale,’’ he said.

Nigerian born English actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor 41, plays Scar, while singer Beyonce gets the role of Nala in the adaptation of Disney’s animated feature “Lion King.”

The first official trailer for the upcoming movie was released on Thursday night, November 22, 2018 and is projected to hit cinemas in July 2019, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Lion King” depicts the struggle of a lion cub, Simba who was challenged by a stiff opposition from his uncle, Scar, in a battle regarding who will rule the animal kingdom.

Ejiofor has taken on the role of Scar, the villainous lion and brother of Mufasa, who seeks to usurp the throne from his brother and ends up teaming up with the hyenas.

In the same vein, Beyonce plays the character, Nala, the fierce lioness and Simba’s childhood friend-turned-love interest.

The Lion King marks the singer’s first feature film role since she voiced Queen Tara in Epic in 2013.

Other casts in the movie are Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard and John Oliver.

As campaigns for the Presidential and National Assembly elections officially kick off tomorrow, President Muhammadu Buhari has decided to first showcase his achievements and projections for the next four years to Nigerians before the official flag-off of the campaigns.

The event for this presentation is tagged “The Next Level’ which will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 5pm to 8pm. It would be broadcast live from different T.V stations and will be a precursor to the official flag-off of the campaigns.

A statement issued by Festus Keyamo, Director, Strategic Communications, President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation said on Saturday that at the event, the president was expected to unveil two documents: one that would highlight his achievements in the last three and half years and would also contain other facts to guide supporters in the course of the campaigns; while the other document is titled “The Next Level”, which captured the projections of the Buhari administration in the next four years if given the mandate again by Nigerians.

“A formal announcement as to the official flag-off of the campaigns would be made in the next few days,” the statement said.

Sports / Buhari Congratulates Super Eagles For 2019 AFCON Qualification by cute9ja: 8:10pm On Nov 17, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The team’s 1-1 draw against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Johannesburg on Saturday had secured the team the ticket.

In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the President joined millions of football-loving Nigerians in commending the team for their spirited and disciplined performance against a very formidable opponent which earned them qualification with the final match against Seychelles a mere formality.

Having keenly followed the senior national football team’s progress in the qualifying stages, President Buhari was enthused by their confidence, sense of patriotism and professionalism, and recommended these attributes to other Nigerians.

He equally commended the coaching crew, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Supporters Club, especially Nigerians residing in South Africa who turned out in great numbers to cheer the players, for a job well-done, and assured them of the unflinching support of the Federal Government going forward.

The President wished the young Nigerian football ambassadors more successes as they prepare for the AFCON tournament in Cameroon.

I don't understand what you mean by 'mingles with corrupt people'
As if you see Buhari chill and drink beer with Ganduje everyday

socialmediaman:

Of course, everyone has seen Buhari for who he really is except for those who are yet to open their eyes to reality. Buhari loots the treasury through proxies like Gandollar, Oshiomhole and heads of special agencies like NNPC. He doesn’t receive bribe money directly that’s why he has no case to answer.

He’s like Abacha whom we thought was a saint, till he passed suddenly without covering his tracks, now we know better. I remember on one occasion when workers were on strike and Abacha was on TV in an interview claiming he was being owed salary too cos he was a government worker, and I thought to myself “what a simple leader”.

I’m not trying to convince you cos I know you can’t be convinced, but if a man praises and mingles with corrupt people, don’t tell me he’s not corrupt please
Politics / Re: Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s Endorsement Of Atiku Lacks Substance – Buhari by cute9ja: 9:18pm On Nov 16, 2018
You are only speaking for yourself not the Igbo nation, Igbo leaders are more divided than you can ever imagine. Infact, that is the resaon why the region is finding it difficult to provide one stong candidate to rule Nigeria.
AmuDimkpa:
One thing good about Igbos is that we are honest enough to show where we belong. People will say it is bad because we end up losing when things don’t go the way we vote but it is how we are. We don’t need to say A while we mean B.
Buhari, Igbos Won’t vote for you. It is not because you are Fulani, no but because you are an incompetent bigot with disregard for human life which is sacred. We are not saying you will lose when we don’t vote for you, we are only telling you how we feel about you and your government. It is ok for you to appoint all your brothers and people from other regions into sensitive positions and continue to sideline us. We are happy with it , don’t just send your murderous herdsmen to the East.
If the rest of the country decide to give you a second time in the face of glaring incompetence, bad economic decisions and corruption , then that’s your luck.

'Buhari steals money through Gandollar'
Does this even make sense?
socialmediaman:
Hahahahahaha politicians will collect Buhari’s money and tell him what he wants to hear, just like they did to Goodluck Jonathan in 2015

The more Buhari steals money through Gandollar and Oshiomhole to settle these politicians, the more he goes deeper into Nigeria’s dark archives.
Politics / Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s Endorsement Of Atiku Lacks Substance – Buhari by cute9ja: 8:08pm On Nov 16, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the split within the Ohanaeze Igbo socio-cultural group over its reported endorsement of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), did not surprise him.
He made the remark while speaking at a meeting with a select group of South-east leaders on Friday, at the State House, Abuja.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Garba Shehu, President Buhari said that the moment the so-called resolution was announced; he got calls from well-meaning leaders from the region asking him to disregard it as it was without any substance.

He said “From that moment, I knew that the resolution would not stand, and alas, there it was.”

President Buhari said that his party, the All Progressives Congress, got it right from the very beginning that the major problems facing the country were mainly on security, corruption and the economy.

He said “We have done so much. Given the chance, we will do more. Given every chance, we will tell Nigerians where we were in 2015 and what we have achieved up to now.

“We will not get tired of speaking about the golden opportunity Nigeria lost during 16 years of the PDP. We earned money, which we didn’t use,” he said.

“The state of infrastructure we inherited was terrible – no roads, the railway was killed and power. They lacked conscience because anybody with conscience will not do what they did. We will report them to Nigerians. Let anybody lead this country but not the PDP. They were so reckless with the resources of the country,” the President said.

“If you ruin the economy, send your children abroad to get education, won’t they come back?” he asked, adding: “I said it 30 years ago that this is the only country we have. We must stay here and salvage it together.”

The leaders of the delegation, Engineer Emeka Ekwuosa and the National Chairman of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Chief Chekwas Okorie, informed President Buhari that the Igbos and South-easterners generally understand the good things he is doing for Nigeria which they said, had unfortunately been misunderstood.

They promised to mobilise support for him in the south-east, saying that his re-election will be a national consensus.

mixter:

This is not how to start in my opinion. Election is by the corner and they are moving everywhere giving people loan of 10k. We both know they won't pay back the loan. Is that one loan sef? The money could have been effectively utilized.
