justwise: Sometimes when i read a post like this i feel that some people are not exposed, so backward thinking and dam right uninformed. Working in home care or elderly people's home is a full time job for many people, its their profession, they studied it in school, get trained and are making a healthy living out of it. This is not just a job for illegal immigrants or for blacks, this is a job for all colours and there is nothing shameful about it.

You talked about people washing dead bodies to make a living, i ask you this...who washes dead bodies in Nigeria? Jobless people? people picked up from the street? Or nurses from those hospitals?

Yes things are difficult for alot of people so what? Are things rosy in Nigeria? You said European economy is dead but the same European countries are giving Nigeria aids worth millions.

What is the percentage of Nigerians living in Nigeria making honest living without stealing and bribing their ways out of everything? What is the condition of social amenities and living standard of ordinary Nigerian?
Please help me to ask him o?

As much as it is good to be patriotic to one's country, there is no need to be delusional. E.g. I was speaking to a friend the other day who seemed to think people in UK are not allowed to talk on phone while at work, I asked him where he got that info. If you want to believe that people abroad are really suffering then please go ahead and believe that.
In Naija you can hit money and become dangote overnight but everybody knows true riches never happens overnight, the same way people hit it and become millionaire overnight is the way they loose it overnight.

It is Nigeria that I learnt the term "Olowo ana" meaning "yesterdays rich man" so please yarn me another one.

Anyway I found this piece written by a Nigerian living in Nigeria

obadiah777: HE IS RIGHT. OVER 99.9 PERCENT OF NIGERIANS IN UK ARE SUFFERING. IF YOU MAKE LESS THAN £50 PER HOUR YOU ARE SUFFERING. WHEN TAX AND COUNCIL TAX AND BUS PASS FIRST OF ALL CLEAN OFF HALF OF THAT NOT TO TALK OF RENT. ITS OK FOR A WHITE MAN TO LIVE LIKE THAT. THIS IS THERE SYSTEM. THEY WERE BORN INTO IT AND ARE USED TO IT. BUT FOR A BLACK MAN TO MANAGE ONLY £50 PER HOUR IS EXTREMELY RESTRICTIVE IF YOU ARE USED TO THE NIGERIAN LIFE OF 'HITTING' MONEY OUT OF ALL KINDS OF VENTURES
E gba mi o shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked You mean a blackman can not live on £2000/week even if they tax at 50% that is £1000/week.

No wonder people are lobbying at Aso Rock every day.

BusinessRe: Are more British-born Nigerians moving back to Nigeria ? by cutebabe: 1:59pm On Feb 19, 2013
dbride: 99.9% of nigerians living in the UK are suffering and smiling, period. They are coming back because they have reached their wits end, their backs on the wall economically. Besides, there is absolutely no life there. Nigeria is bad, yet these whites who attain their retirement in 9ja, secure another job just to stay back in 9ja! I have travelled far and wide, home is home in spite of all her shortcomings.
I am a Nigerian and God does not make mistakes!!!
Seriously which side of UK are you hanging. Sure if you land where the folks don't have right papers to work and don't have experience yeah but definitely not 99.9% rara ko jo. The truth is there are many Nigerians who have gone far in UK, Canada and Abroad in fact you will not believe they are Nigerians until you see or hear their names.

The main complain is that UK is boring and the cold is miserable and recently economic downturn, even at that the ones who are making cool money legitimately are making it.

I suppose it depends on which side of the hill you are on.

In fact I know up to 3 families who have returned to UK within 4 year of relocating to Nigeria.

In summary, the reporter found 3- 4 ladies who relocated to Nigeria from abroad Lobatan.

Having said that it is true that many in UK say Naija is best until they attempt full relocation and their eye is shined by force and they realise that Naija is not for the chicken livered and the couple of thousands of pounds they have amassed is for boli and epa grin grin they quickly dust their pali and run back abroad.

pDude:
The girl was definitely sick. Nonsense. Why don't most handicapped people in Nigeria commit suicide? Why don't most deformed people commit suicide? Why don't graduates who have been searching for jobs for 5yrs commit suicide? Why don't most barren women commit suicide? This spoilt rich rat who had everything going for her committed suicide. Well good riddance. At least Nigeria's population has reduced by 1(so said one of my colleagues at work).

SMH.
I agree with you pDude she was sick, unfortunately she did not get the right treatment or help on time afterall no one in their right mind will choose to die hence why you run from a moving trailer.

Having said that, I totally disagree with you on your other point and think you need to rethink your comment. It is shallow to say she had everything going for for her because she is rich. Money and rich parenthood is not everything, in fact job and man does not come close.
A man is made of spirit, soul and body, you be the judge if having money, man and job satisfies all three.
I could write numerous chapters on mental health for you so you and your colleague can read at your lunchtime.

Also, there are deformed people who commit suicide, there have been graduates without jobs who committed suicide, there have been barren women who committed suicide. Do you think if it was Suraju under the bridge or Segi who sells rice by yaba junction that committed suicide it would make it to Nairaland talk less of 5 page thread.

We are only priviledged to exercise our vocal muscles because she made the news which again is not unconnected to riches and beauty.

P.S.
Just in case anyone reading this is going through similar or have people around you are susceptible to such, SUICIDE IS NEVER THE ANSWER. Every problem has an expiry date no temptation will overcome you, don't allow the lies and deceit of the world or even the cruel comments of others drive you to Despair. God cares and he knows what you are going through, God has the final say on your situation. You did not give yourself life and you should not take it. We should always think of this [i]"after Death what next".[/i]

FamilyRe: Is A Jobless Man The Head Of His Family? by cutebabe: 3:52pm On Jan 19, 2008
IN A NORMAL SITUATION A MAN IS THE HEAD OF THE FAMILY NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

The Bible and Nigerian Tradition also says this.

The only reason when people starts asking questions is when the situation is not normal.

@Poster for the man to be shouting that he is the head of the house already shows that he is afraid that he is not, you don't go around shouting that you are your father's son except you are faced with paternity test.

The president does not get on a radio to make announcement that he is the President of Nigeria, the people around him introduces as such.

I don't necessarily think a man that does not have a job is less of the head (so far he is not a lazy arse who is at ease with joblessness). Yaradua is the head of the country yet the money he is administering belong to Nigeria. There are many women who have money but their husband adminsters the money appropriately in terms of investments, advice to the woman so much so that the increase is even better than for the husband to be working.

Do you think that woman will complain?

And for the fella who said it is what is 'below', words even fail me

GERMAN BANK OFFERS FACILITIES TO 12 NIGERIAN BANKS

@All

CommerzBank of Germany, one of the largest universal banks in Europe, has concluded plans to syndicate foreign denominated currency facilities for 12 Nigerian banks. The initiative is coming ahead of the formal commissioning of the German bank's representative office in Lagos next week. Mr. Florian M. Witt, who has arrived the country to head the Lagos office, would not disclose the banks involved and also declined the value of the facilities. But Witt, in a chat with newsmen in Lagos, said the bank was tickled into establishing the Lagos office by the tremendous rise in the fortunes of the nation's financial institutions. According to him, Nigerian banks have shown great features of credibility and strength, and we are ready to partner with them in project financing in such areas like commerce, industry, infrastructure, oil and gas among others. He said: "The consolidation programme in Nigeria's banking sector was very efficiently carried out and actually recorded extreme success. It was well received in the international market. This has now enabled the banks to become adequately strengthened to play bigger roles in project financing. "Indeed, the scenario has now positioned Nigeria as the financial hub for sub-Saharan Africa and we have actually witnessed the country's banks making successful business forays into both Anglophone and Francophone West African countries. "The BB-rating for Nigeria, in terms of risk factor, has raised the confidence level of international capital market players in the country's economy." Guardian, p. 17.

PTH:
There is none. But i challenge you to show me JUST ONE verse in the bible where God placed an emphasis on the building for worship. Go ahead tell us.

When Christ sent out the apostles how many churches did they build and how much did Judas collect as building offering?
After the day of pentecost, please show us where the apostles forced the brethren to sell their land and bring the money to the church so they could build Bethlehem's largest auditorium . . . afterall thousands were saved that day and they would have needed "space" to preach the gospel aye. . .
Read 1 Kings chapter 6, emphasis on verse 12

And before you go shouting that was the old testment read John 2 v 12-16, emphasis on verse 16.
It may interest you to know that this was the same temple which had now been rebuilt by Herod.

I wonder why Jesus did not attack the splendour of the TEMPLE.

It may also interest you that Jesus went to this same temple to worship.

I don't know why you all expected Jesus to have built a temple when he had but 12 disciples and was on a mission of being sacrificed so that some 2000 years later millions of people will be going to church and inherently need the large building.

What baffles me is when we go to my hometown and we go greeting people from door to door and 75% seem to be related to you one way or another.

And you perfect the art of kneeling down like a robot, in short you kneel for everybody taller than you less they report you to grandma angry.

Yes and did anybody have those young uncles who "help" to blow all your knockout and you have to go and ask daddy for more money.
