And to answer your last question, a refusal of a student visa has no effect on your immigrant case. As long as the information you provide is the same. Eg don't say you're married for student visa and then say you're not married for your IV.

The list of documents you need should be on the portal. Why do you need other people to tell you what to submit?

Login to your account and follow the instructions. If you need clarity on certain things like what type of birth certificate is accepted for Nigerians, then you can ask here.

But why ask people to give you a list. If I give you a list from 2017 and it has changed nko?

I’m confused, I understand the embassy accepts the new Police Character Certificate which is issued online with biometric capture at the State CID, but I’m also hearing that NVC only accepts the old PCC with the fingerprint page attached. Who has been able to submit the new PCC to NVC successfully? I want to avoid any delays to becoming DQ’ed in the shortest possible timeframe.

I heard it too, they only accept the one with finger print attached now. They don’t accept the online version. I think is better to do the finger print attached one. That’s what am doing now.

Congratulations! Try your best to get DQ as soon as you can because it impacts how soon you can get IL after your DQ becomes current.

You don't need to upload all those educational certificates. Police character from any state will be accepted. Also NPC attestation will be accepted. Start getting your affidavit of support documents if you haven't already.

No you don't need to submit any of those you mentioned. You will only be asked your level of education in one of the forms if I remember correctly.

Your PD is current for filing but not for final action which means a visa is not yet available for you. F1 is current for Dec 2014 or earlier.
Note that on the visa bulletin, dates for filing is different from final action date.
However, you should be getting a letter from NVC anytime now so that you can get DQ in readiness for when your PD becomes current. Actually, you should have received it by now so just reach out to NVC and ask them. Contact them using the inquiry form.

Pls, my PD is Aug 2016 F1 and according to the may visa bulletin they have passed my PD. I have not received any welcome letter from NVC. How should I go about this? Am I to wait for them to send it or should I contact them.

According to the visa bulletin, for date of filling your category is still in Jan 2017. And ur priority date is Feb 2017. U can only start payments when they get to or pass ur priority date

Mine is 19 Aug. 2016. They have not sent anything. I think they stopped at 8Aug.2016 from the bulletin. So u can't start anything until they get to feb 2017
