All these politicians urging people to apply into Nigerian Army left and right, one would think the army even recruits enough annually. Most of the time they don't recruit more than 50-100 people per state, so what's all the fuss about?

There are always more people applying than they can recruit, not to talk of the meagre salary and lack of welfare in the army. Besides, youths are tired of terrorists getting pardoned while military 🪖 men are killed by the same Boko Haram and other terrorists and bandits.

Why is this is a surprise to us as Nigerians?

There is literally no sector where we have enough workforce, except for political offices. I bet we have more politicians than doctors in Nigeria.

Police- understaffed, even the little available are taken by politicians, VIPs and expats for personal security.

Military - grossly understaffed and ill equipped. These guys even have to buy their own uniforms from their meagre $75 monthly salary.

Public schools - understaffed. The only saving grace is NYSC posting to rural communities. Even in the mighty Lagos, public schools have to use non-teaching staff for teachers in primary schools in several cases cos Alausa (LASG) rarely recruits teachers cos they don't wanna pay salaries- I know this cos I have people working for Lagos state government. Alausa is highly culpable and corrupt!

Hospitals- obviously understaffed.

Waste management - LAWMA for instance is a case study. They are trying, but they lack strategy and dynamism. Just packing and dumping with drug addicted PSP truck drivers.

Only a lack of investigative intelligence causes this kind of issue.

A country where police raids and packs anyone and everyone and sends them to jail? I am not surprised one bit.

I've heard countless stories of innocent people getting jailed. I even remember one of our elders in church whose son was missing, unbeknownst to him, he was locked up by the NPF, just because they raided their area around night time and he was outside.

I understand that certain emergencies cause people to borrow from these loan apps, but it's best to avoid them like a plague. Loan Apps from Blue Ridge Microfinance (e.g. Easemoni, Okash, etc.) are the worst in my own experience.

Even if you have a good history with them, it doesn't concern them. Once you don't pay by the deadline, you get your image tarnished and still repay with added interest. Some will even start threatening you with unknown numbers before the due date.

The CBN has failed Nigerians by not regulating these people and a lot of Nigerians are now their slaves due to financial challenges and rising cost of living. Worst still, they hold on to people's data and never delete it even after you repay and ask them to. Very diabolical organisations.
