Touched ground at OR Tambo International Airport at about 3.30am on thursday. Thanks to RwandAir for the wonderful trip.

Point of entry:A woman immigration officer attended to me.She asked few questions as per where am I going and what brought me to SA.She also asked for my hotel reservation,Flight ticket and my Kpally.

I answered all questions she asked me and show her all documents she requested for. She told me to enjoy my vacation and I was cleared to enter the country.

Observation/Experience: So far the country is nice with good structures and road network most especially Sandton and Pretoria.

Security: SA government still need to beef up security in some part of the country as the crime rate is still rampant.

My appreciation goes to everyone in the house.

I have booked for room there but their mode of payment is that you will pay when you get there.My concern is that will the guys at the POE allow this as I have not paid for the hotel.

Somebody need to come and share more light on this biko.

There are lots of cool places you can stay, Sandton is good but expensive. You can check Lorentzville, Midrand, Bedfordview, Berea, Rosebank, e.t.c Please avoid Yeoville if you can, it's one of the most notorious places in Joburg.

My people. I have these questions to ask

Question 1
Is it a must that i must use dollar as BTA if am travelling to South Africa.

Is South African Currency not acceptable...If yes, how much am i supposed to go with. And which currency is better to use?

Question 2
If am to stay in a hotel for instance 10 days
Is it compulsory i book all the days at once? .Because i learnt South African immigration do request for a confirmed hotel reservation at the point of entry.

kindly share more light on these.

Depends. Each of these travel coys av targets for airlines. Wakanow normally pushes sales for South African airways. While travelstart has slightly lower rates for Rwanda or Kenya airways. Jumia Travel is new in the business. Not sure how their rates are.

But from experience, I've used both wakanow and travelsrart. Travelstart makes you pay heavily for any change to your ticket after it has been booked. Wakanow is more reasonable. Also wakanow has more coverage as they have many travel centers around especially in and out of lag. With travelstart you just have to keep calling customer care if you have issues.

Rates are always slightly cheaper on travelstart tho. Especially for Rwanda and Kenya airways.

At the point of getting your boarding pass at MMIA, they will ask you but at PoE, sometimes they don't ask i.e.subject to who attends to you. I wasn't asked for PTA in both SA and Kenya but i was greatly disturbed for PTA here in Lagos just because they want some kickbacks.

Boss, sorry for asking this question.

Is it our naija immigration or South Africa immigration that will ask for BTA at the point of entry?

No issues, just be bold and sincere. The immigration officer will definitely ask some questions from you which is not limited to your purpose of coming.

Staying with family and friends is just for accommodation purpose. PTA is to show you won't be dependent and substantial amount should be with you for shopping and other things.

What if i want to stay with family/friends.
Do i still need to provide $500 as BTA?

1. $500 is the adequate amount as PTA.
2. No, you only need to pay for like 5days if you want to lodge in the hotel. But if you have agreement with the hotel of your choice, you can pay at the facility. Explain that to the immigration officer cos they will check the reservation and can call the hotel at their own discretion.

What kind of documents are you referring to if one is applying for permit and like how much is the cost of applying.

i will comfortably recommend pretoria for you. if you are sure you can speak afrikaan that's another advantage for you cos alot of times they always want people who can speak afrikaans for job.
about beauty and fashion industry that's the main job foreigners do here havn't you heard that all of us has turn to beauty and fashion designers? serious they need you here, people who cant do it are already making money from it here.
about rent, one bedroom flat here is N48,000 per month but what people do here is you will take 3 bedroom flat for N72,000 per month then give 2 rooms out at N32,000 each which is N64,000 per month so will only be paying N8,000 per month for the other room and u will also use the parlour.
you wont renew visa here, you will only submit your documents immediately you enter this country within the first 30days once u 've submitted ur documents you are free, they will give you a receipt showing that u 've submitted your documents you will use that receipt till your permit is out, matter how long the permit take to come out that's no longer your problm all you need to do is to keep going their for new stamp when the stamp they gave you is about to expire.
you will certainly live a comfortable life here as far as you are working and you said you are into beauty industry it's cool, the least job here is N50,000 with what you explained now you are above that. the worst are people who cant do anything.

As useless as Buhari is, this Senate can NEVER impeach Buhari.

They are lily-livered cowards who are in mortal fear of Buhari. What they dread most is Buhari coming after them. As it stands now, Saraki is incapable of protecting himself from Buhari not to talk of protecting Senators under him.

What would happen is this: Buhari would offer them respite if they impeach Saraki. They'll happily do that for them to have peace. Buhari on the other hand would have a compliant legislature as Saraki would be castrated ahead of 2019.

Please anybody with a decent and cheaper hotel in Johannesburg or Pretoria should quote me.
