Tina was seated in her one room apartment thinking with tears in her eyes. Since she left Raymond's apartment over three hours ago she has been crying over her ill- luck.
"The rich wants to continue to be rich and they are not ready to affect the lives of the poor unless the poor man is ready to serve them till death. They don't want their children to marry the poor because they believe the poor is after their money but they are mistaken. Ninety percent of the rich-poor relationship are caused by the rich. The rich will be ones to ask the poor for a relationship knowing fully well that his/her family will be against their union." she thought to herself.
"Since I stopped my job as a prostitute I have not felt peace or joy. I decided to stop the job so I can take a step further but....."
She thought as the event of Five months ago came flashing.
FLASHBACK
Tina was just returning from one of her numerous night business. The time was 8am on a sunday morning when she saw a religious tract on the floor. Though she could neither call herself a religious person or a church goer but when she was in school, secondary school to be precise one of her teachers do advice them that to be successful theu should read anything readable. So far it is written in a language they understood, they should endeavour to read it.
And she decided to read this tract. On getting into the house she sat down to read it and discovered it was a religious tract. She wanted to tear it but the topic treated took over her curiousity.
WHAT IS IT YOU ARE DOING? CAN YOU POINT AT THE GAINS?
She started reading the tract with all seriousness like someone preparing for an exam. She read to a point when she started shedding tears. THE JOB YOU ARE DOING PRESENTLY IS NOT APPROVED BY GOD IF YOU CAN'T POINT OUT A THING/INVESTMENT YOU HAVE MADE WITH THE MONEY.
This perticular message sent her reeling and reminiscing on her past deed. In her five years of working as a prostitute she couldn't point out a thing she has done with the money, all she does was to buy expensive filthy clothes, jewelleries, bags, shoes, makeup kits and other wordly things. She couldn't point out a thing that if she decided to stop the work, she will fall onto. Despite her exhorbitant charges her bak account is a thin as a broom stick. She couldn't fall back on the money because she spends her income immediately she recieves them.
BACK TO THE PRESENT
"Tina!.... Tina!......" Raymond called her for the upteenth time.
Tina snapped out of her reverie to see Raymond's masculine figure before her, thank God for her small rechargeable lamp.
"Raymond! What are you doing here? When did you enter?" She asked.
"I've been standing here for almost three minutes. What is it that you are thinking about?"
"Nothing."
Raymond talked to her, apologised on behalf of her mother and promised to love and cherish her. Raymond left one hour later with a promise that he'll be back the following evening to pick her up.
"Should I tell him about my past now?" she asked within herself as she was seeing him off to his car.
"Sweetheart tell me what is it that you are thinking about?" Raymond asked looking at her intently.
Tina could feel his eyes peering into her mind and reading averything that is going on there.
"Nothing." She lied.
He backed out his car and Tina walked back into her room.

"What right do you have to talk to my girlfriend like that?" Raymond asked immediately he entered his perents sitting room.
Mrs Bianca Douglas was making a call when Raymond entered.
"Its your son who has come to shout on me because of one wretched girl." Mrs Douglas said to the person at the other end of the line which is no other person but Chief Douglas.
"Mummy, is it a must for me to marry someone from a rich family? Then my wealth will be as useless as anything. The only way I can make a difference with my money is if I spend it on the needy." Raymond said.
"Shut you mouth. You are young to understand some things. And I'll let you know them. You see...." Mrs Douglas was saying before her son cut her short. This time she has ended the call with her husband.
"Raymond, are you mad? See how you are talking to your mother." Atinuke shouted as she approached mother and son.
"You have no say in this. I know you'll be on your mother's side when you have been making plans for me to marry a billionaire like me which is not gonna happen." Raymond told her off.
"Am not taking anybody's side. What mum did was bad but..."
"But what?... You better learn to make decisions on your own. Am sure you and your mother would have written a letter to the state governor stating how much you love him and you want to be his wife." Raymond said.
"Me? State governor..." Atinuke was saying as her voice trailed off.
"There is no decision to make here. What I said is the final. That girl has no place in our family wether you like it or not." Mrs Douglas said.
"You must have tried you hand on comedy while you were young. If this family is all about place, class, money then I see no sense in being a member of this family." Raymond replied.
"Not when am alive will you marry that girl. Even after my death my spirit will frustrate her out of your house." Mrs Douglas said adjusting her spectacle.
"Like Grandma(Chief Douglas' mother) frustrated you when Dad choosed to marry you even though you are his secretary?"
"Shut your mouth. What do you know?"
"Am not shutting up. You keep talking about class. As far as I can remember you finished your first degree after you gave birth to me which means you got married a dropout but Tina is a graduate at twenty-four. You couldn't beat that." Raymond said rudely.
"You called me a dropout?"
"Its a bitter truth. Dad gave you position of his secretary because he had interest in you. Tina started working with me on merit. You need to see her result, she graduated in flying colours. Only God knows where she'll be in two years time. Maybe a world renown businesswoman." Raymond said, his anger rising above its limit.
Mrs Douglas kept quiet for a few seconds trying to process what her son just said. She picked up her phone and dialled a number as tears rolled down her eyes.
"You need to see you son calling me a dropout, a bloody secretary because of a girl." Mrs Douglas said to her husband.
Raymond kep quiet and was fuming as his parents talked on phone.
"Daddy, you know I can't do such. She was calling my girlfriend all sort of names."
"So your girlfriend is more important than your mother?"
Raymond kept quiet and was listening as his father continued scolding him.
"Tomorrow at 12, I want to see you. Tell the pilot to get the jet engine ready." Chief Douglas ordered.
"Okay sir." Raymond replied as he hung up.
Mrs Douglas snatched her phone from her son as she angrily walked out of sitting room.
"Mad boy is in love." Atinuke said before exiting the sitting room.
Raymond seeing there is nothing else to do decided to leave so he can see Tina before it becomes more darker. The time was 8:30pm.

Raymond was driving at a relatively slow pace back from work. He was in no hurry to reach home as he took his time to take bends and patiently waited for pedestrians to cross the road.
He let his mind wander as he remembered the conversation he had with his mother the day he took Tina home.
"Raymond look at me, I am your mother and you are my son. You can't marry that girl." Bianca said.
"Mum can you give me a reason why I can't marry her?" He asked.
"Thank you. You see girls like this are after your money, she is a noobody and she deserves to marry someone of her own calibre." Bianca explained.
"Mum if she is after my money she ought to have been making demands but there has been nothing of such since I started seeing her." Raymond replied.
"Its the plan. She wants to win your trust first." she replied.
"I trust her she can't do that."
"I know many girls that are willing to marry you. Senator Iyiola's daughter is there for you to pick, the deputy governor is there for you but you choosed to marry a girl from the gutter."
"Mum save it. Like you were the president's daughter when you got married to dad. Aren't you secretary back then?" Raymond asked angrily.
Her son's outburst caught her off balance and she lacked what it takes to counter her son.
"Go on and marry her but no while am alive will you marry that wretched thing." Mrs Douglas said as she walked out on her son who was still fuming in anger.
The conversation he had with his mother came flashing and he smiled remembering how his mother's face changed when he asked her if she was the president's daughter when she got married to his father.
This time Raymond had gotten to the estate gate. The policemen assisting the Douglas' security men saluted him and he drove inside.
"Welcome oga." Haruna greeted immediately he alighted from the car.
"Haruna how you doing?"
"Oga small madam say make I give you this fafer." The hausa man said calling 'P' 'F'
Raymond knew at once that what he meant by small madam was Tina.
Raymond collected the envelop and walked in, he read the letter as he walked in.
In the letter Tina explained extensively why she had to go citing reasons that her mum needed her urgently and she also explained that she is no longer interested in her job.
Raymond was suprised as he exited the house.
"Haruna."
"Yes oga."
"Where did she say she was going?"
"Oga I no know o. All I see was that Big Madam came and shouted on her. Then small madam left after that crying." The hausa man explained in the best of his ability.
Raymond needed no soothsayer to tell him that his mum had come to drive his girlfriend away. At once he started boiling in rage. He walked back into the house, picked up his car key and exited the house. He drove out of the compound towards his parent's apartment.
Its high time he unleashed his anger on his mother who thinks money is everything.

The next morning Raymond walked into the bedroom for the third time since he woke up to find Tina still lying on the bed.
He ignored her as he walked towards his shoe closet, picked up an italian suede and sat down on a stood to put it on.
"Sweet love." Raymond said tapping her lightly.
Tina opened her eyes.
"Its morning already?"
"Aren't you going to work?" He asked.
"Baby am weak." Tina replied trying to sit up.
Raymond scrutinized her for a few seconds.
"You know how you can fix yourself a breakfast, don't you? Am off." Raymond said pecking her as he carried his briefcase and walked out of the room.
Tina slept off the moment Raymond walked out only to be woken up two hours later by her ringing phone.
It was a strange number.
"Hello." She said sitting up.
"Tina?" The caller asked.
"Yeah. And who is this?" Tina asked in return.
"I'll be with you shortly." The caller said hanging up. Throwing her into further confusion and to say she couldn't place the voice.
Checking the number once again she discovered that it looked exactly the same way just like Raymond's. The only difference was the last two digits, apart from that every other thing is the same.
"Maybe its Atinuke." Tina concluded as she got up even though she is still feeling weak and headed for the bathroom to wash her face.
She came out a few minutes later looking model-ish with her black hair tied to a pony tail. She headed for the sitting room, did some little cleaning on the rarely used electronics and the quality leather chairs. She switched on the music player and the song that came to play was Drunk in love by Beyonce. She was humming to the song as she did the cleaning.
Just then the doorbell rang.
"Yes? Am coming" She said as she walked towards the door.
She pushed the door open and saw Atinuke in her natural state(no make up) looking beautiful.
"Good morning." Atinuke greeted.
"Good morning." Tina replied.
"Can I come in?" She asked.
It was then Tina realised she was blocking the door way.
She smiled as she stepped aside to let come inside.
THIRTY MINUTES LATER
The two ladies were gossipping about everything they could think of, fashion, music, cars, men, relationships to mention a few.
"I thought you said you wanted to fix yourself a breakfast?"
"Yeah." Tina replied.
"Lemme go and get dressed. So we'll go shopping together." Atinuke said as she slipped out of the kitchen.
Tina started preparing what to eat. She had it in mind to make rice but so she doesn't keep Atinuke waiting, she decided to make potato chips to go with fried egg.
Just when she settled down to eat on the kitchen table the doorbell rang.
"Yes? Am coming." She said as she put on her flip flops and ran to the sitting room to open the door.
"Good morning ma." She stammered as she greeted Mrs Douglas.
"Will you at least step aside?" Mrs Douglas said as she walked in rudely.
Tina took the behaviour in good faith as she followed her mother in law to be.
"So you are Raymond's girlfriend?" She asked.
"Y....ess Ma." Tina replied stuttering.
Mrs Douglas sat down on the three seater couch which was littered with a plate of Ice cream and nylon of pop corn consumed by Atinuke.
"Don't you think you should go get job?" Mrs Douglas asked.
Tina knew where the conversation will lead to so she kept her calm.
"You see my son Raymond is engaged to a beautiful lady. The daughter of the state's deputy governor. So you stand no chance." Mrs Douglas announced.
Tina still kept quiet counting her fingers.
"I'll give you five million naira. Go and start something with it and leave my son to mingle with people of his class."
"But mum I love Raymond." Tina said for the first time since the conversation began.
"I know you do but you are a nobody. Imagine just because you got the opportunity to sleep here for a night you littered this expensive couch with the packs of this expensive ice cream." Mrs Douglas said.
Tina wanted to talk that it was her daughter who littered the couch but she decided against it.
"I'll be back here in the evening and I don't expect to meet you. I'll have the money wired to your account and don't be suprised I knew you account number."
"I don't need your money." Tina replied sharply.
"You'll regret ever talking to me like that you slut."
Tina sat on the floor and let the tears flow freely.
"Is it a crime to be poor. Everyone can't be rich. My God." she cried.
And a few minutes later Atinuke came in to meet Tina in a heartbroken state.
"Sister Tina am set." she called.
"Am not going anymore."
"I know this is the handiwork of mum and I've expressed my displeasure to her. Raymond will do something once he returns. So please lets go.

A few minutes into their conversation Mrs Bianca Douglas and her son came into the living room.
"Ah ah ah! Who am I seeing?" Mrs Douglas said.
"Good evening mum." Atinuke greeted her mother going down on her knees.
"How are you? How is Abuja?" Mrs Douglas asked at once.
"Am fine mum and you." Atinuke replied.
"As you can see am fine too."
"Black brother." Atinuke said facing her big brother.
Raymond pretended as if he didn't hear her as he moved towards his sister with a clenched fist.
"Mummy tell him o. Am no longer that teenager he could punch anyhow." Atinuke said running to their mother for cover.
"Come for a hug my prodigal sister." Raymond said as mother and daughter including Tina bursted into laughter.
They chatted for a few minutes before Raymond announced that they are leaving. All through their conversation Mrs Douglas made sure that she didn't direct her words to Tina and Tina on the other hand made she had no eye contact with her.
A few minutes later Raymond backed out his car as he began driving towards his own apartment.
"What did mummy discuss with you the other time? Is it about me?" Tina asked breaking the silence that has taken over the drive back home.
"Its about you truely." Raymond replied as he expertly swerved the car off the tarred road inside the Douglas estate into the tiled road that led to his gate.
Tina was visibly shaken the moment she heard their discussion was about her.
"So what did she say...." She said amidst a shaky voice.
"Mum was angry that I have no plans for us, no plans for your mum and siblings." Raymond replied.
"Plans as in?"
"She expected me to have at least set up an apartment for your family inside the estate now that we are one big family." Raymond replied.
Tina thought for a few seconds, someone who barely accepted her into their family wants his son to set up a place for her family. She gave up on the thought with the belive that time would tell. This time Raymond had parked the car in just before the entrance.
"Welcome Oga." The security man greeted.
"Hey! Haruna." Raymond said throwing the car key at the security man who at once knew what to do. He was expected to park the car properly in the garage and bring the key inside.
"Keep the key with you." Raymond said as he walked in with Tina. The security man barely took notice of Tina.
Immediately they got inside Raymond started tearing off her clothes in a hurry and it took Tina a minute to understand what was happening as she adjusted just in time.
They ended up going to bed after three rounds of hot sex without their dinner.
Raymond woke up later in the midnight around 1am as he went to the kitchen to prepare something for them to eat.
"You should have woken me up." Tina said when he set the food tray on the bed.
"I want my queen to take some rest."
"That's very romantic of you." she replied as they started munching toast bread and milk.
Twenty minutes later Tina was fast asleep.

Tina was seated in the very spacious and large sitting room of the Douglas. She was feeling anxious and nervous at the same time, because she just found herself in a situation she had no idea of. Raymond has finally decided to bring her home to meet his immediate family and Tina was happy at first but now she wished some powers could just take her off from the couch and drop her in her room.
Raymond had gone inside in search of his mother whom Tina had no idea of what she looked like except for her pictures in magazines and television but seeing her physically. This is the first time.
Tina has visited the Douglas estate many times in the past but her was always limited to Raymond's house. She has spent weekends with Raymond many times and Raymond had visited her family countless times. Just when she started having doubt about Raymond taking her to the alter he told her on thier way back from work that she'll be meeting his mum that day.
Ever since she started going out with the young billionaire, Tina's living condition has changed tremendously while her mother has started living comfortably in an apartment rented for her by Raymond, her siblings, Gloria and Francis who had made it point of duty to come home almost every weekend for their feeding allowance only comes home when they are on break to spend time with their mother.
Mrs Douglas cleared her troath on entering the living room thereby bringing Tina back from her reverie.
"Good evening ma." Tina said going down on her knees.
Mrs Douglas smiled as she walked up to her and pulled her up to an embrace.
"Good evening my daughter. How are you? How is mummy and daddy at home?" Mrs Douglas asked.
"We are all fine ma." Tina replied kneeling down once again.
"Come sit here with me." Mrs Douglas said patting the empty seat beside her.
Tina sat down beside her mother in law to be and they started chatting.
"So you said your dad is dead right?"
"Yes ma."
"May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace." Bianca Douglas prayed.
"Amen."
"So your mum is the minister for what? Or is she an ambassador?" Mrs Bianca Douglas asked throwing Tina off balance even Raymond felt the worms in his stomach make some noise.
"My mum is neither of the two. She is a trader." Tina replied.
"Thats good." Mrs Douglas said smiling.
Tina heaved a sigh of relieve.
"Raymond can I see you for a minute?" She said as she walked back in the direction in which she had emerged into the sitting room few minutes ago.
Raymond took permission from Tina as he followed his mum.
Ten minutes later the front door opened and a young lady of about twenty-two years old walked in. Everything about the lady smelt money. Tina sized her up with her eyes and her rough estimation valued everything on her at over ten million naira.
"Good evening." The lady greeted Tina showing a bit of respect.
"Good evening." Tina replied.
"My name is Atinuke, Raymond's sister and you must be....."
"Tina."
"His girlfriend?" Atinuke asked.
"Yeah." Tina smiled shyly.
Atinuke sat down with Tina as the two ladies began talking like long lost sisters.

CHAPTER 4
Raymond was seated in the company of his three best friends, Davies, Majid and Sam.
Davies is the eldest of the quartet at thirty two he is married with a son to call his own. A young politician who is aspiring for a seat in the House of Representative, the eldest son of Chief Remi Davies, a former vice president in Nigeria. Davies is naturally gifted to be a leader, a public speaker, an activist and above all a councellor. At a tender age of sixteen he was made the senior prefect in his secondary school, and by the time he graduated and was waiting for admission he had written different motivational books. By the time he got into his third year in the university he was elected by the student union as the president and his fellow student enjoyed his tenure as the president. Even though it was his dream to become a Lawyer or an activist, his father stood his way and convinced him into studying political science while his younger sister has made a name in law.
Majid on his part is a young businessman just like Raymond. He started doing business from a very tender age. Striking deals with his siblings, they'll have his meat in turns and he'll take their pocket money. Majid knew every way which he could use to generate money. The only difference between him and a businessman from the eastern part of Nigeria is their language. He is engaged to a young model.
Sam who was widely regarded to as bigsam or Sammy is a music producer and a rapper. Just like Nigerian-born American rapper Wale of Maybach music. Sammy plies his trade in the united state and does less music in his fatherland. Even though he had been a stepping stone to most other Nigerian musician who came into international limelight through bigsam. Sammy is rich and everyone knows that but his love for women has been a major setback in his bank account. In the last three years, Sammy has proposed to four women with expensive gold/diamond rings and after a few months of engagement, they all break up on terms of inreconciliable differences. He is currently going out with a popular American actress and their relationship seems promising.
"Raypower, are you still afraid to talk to these cheap Nigerian girls?" Sam asked Raymond.
Davies and Majid both bursted into laughter out of mockery.
"Enough of that boys. I just got a gold fish." Raymond said suprising everyone of them.
"Tell me more." Majid said.
Raymond explained everything about Tina, how they met, how things sprang up, how he asked her out.
"You want to marry a girl that ought to be one of your numerous side chics?" Sam asked.
"No way am I attending your wedding. That poor thing?" Majid added.
Raymond tried to talk his friends out of labelling his girlfriend with bad names but the two bad eggs of the quartet, Majid and Sam seemed to be enjoying themselves at the expense of Raymond's feelings.
"Raymoney, all I have to tell you is to be watchful. Marrying a rich and classy lady and marrying a poor and classless lady isn't the most important thing. But marrying a lady with whom your happiness is guaranteed. I can't tell you what to do because I believe you know what is good for you. All that remains now is blessing from your parent." Davies adviced like the elder brother he was to his friends.
"Come off it jor." Majid said.
"Marriage is not like politics o. You know nothing about love." Sam said.
After a series of arguments and jokes Davies announces his departure.
"Boys, am leaving. My wife must be waiting." He said picking up his car keys.
"My regards to Samantha and Junior." Raymond who was also known as Raymoney or Raypower said.
"I don't know his problem. His wife doesn't give him chance to enjoy himself. I swear I don't see him winning the upcoming election." Sam said angrily a few minutes after Davies left.
"That shows how responsible he is. Mind you he is married." Raymond said.
"Meaning? We are irresponsible." Majid said.
"Did you hear me say that? Am leaving guys." Raymond said picking up his bunch of keys too.
"Mind you we are responsible too." Majid said picking his keys as Sam followed him. Everyone of them laughing as they exited the guesthouse.

The relationship between Raymond and Tina blosssomed over the months to what no one anticipated. Everyone in the office knew about them and at every given opportunity they pass disgusting comments about Tina. Prince became miserable during this period that at every given opportunity he tries to go fist to fist with Raymond during meetings. He was hurting badly that he hit Tina in the face one day because Tina corrected one of his numerous mistakes.
This was the last straw which broke the camel's back. Raymond was enraged and he attacked Prince in the parking lot and beat him beyond recognition. The following day Prince was arrested for hitting a woman and by the time he returned to office after a week of treatment in the hospital, his letter of appointment termination has been served into his mail box and also on his table.
The aftermath of Prince's departure became the begining of peace in the company. All the haters hating on Tina began to like her as they all consoled her when Prince magical hand hit her hard of the face.
-------------------
It was a bright friday morning and Tina as usual went in to greet Raymond for the first time that day.
"Sweetheart." She said as she pushed the door open.
Raymond smiled as he stood up and opened his arms for a hug. Tina ran into his hand and Raymond kissed her on the forehead.
"How is my Queen doing?" He asked.
"Really good." she replied.
Raymond smiled as he lifted her head up and kissed he lightly on the lips which she refused the respond. On his second attempt she responded and the hot romance in the office began. They became unconscious of the fact that they are in the office that they knew not when there was a knock on the door and they asked the person to come in.
The door opened and Agatha, Raymond's secretary walked in with some files in her hand.
"Jesus Christ!" She shouted as the filed all fell down.
Tina quickly disengaged from Raymond as she adjusted her clothes before sitting down on the couch in the mini sitting room inside Raymond's office.
"Am sorry sir." Agatha said for the upteenth time as she picked up the papers and left the office.
Tina was ashamed of the act which she was caught doing with Raymond as she refused to look at Raymond in the face throughout her stay.
"So, I'll send my driver to come and pick you up for the weekend in my place." Raymond said when she was leaving.
Tina wanted to say something.
"But I thought we already discussed this. You are spending the weekend with me and nothing is gonna change that." Raymond said.
"As your lordship pleases."
They both bursted into laughter.

The rest week was very eventful after the meeting was concluded. Some of the company's policies were scraped off and a new General manager was announced in the name of Prince Cole. Some departments were scrapped off and workers layed off on both temporary and permanent basis.
The interview panel was completely scrapped off and its occupants were layed off permanently while only some longest serving workers were retained as part of the company's board of directors.
Raymond released a new list of the interview panel headed temporarily by Miss Tina and deputized by Mr Clement. A total of seven people were in the panel.
The policy making department was layed off temporarily alongside the company's ethical and cultural department. Every rule and policy will always pass through the table of Miss Tina before implementation while Tina was the only level three worker allowed to report directly to the CEO.
At the end of the meeting every agreement reached seems to be in Tina's favour and at the detriment of other workers. The remainder of the week was one of the worst of Tina's life as everywhere she goes within the company, she recieves sneering comments.
She reported to Raymond who by now had developed interest in her and is no longer hiding his feelings. Tina on the other hand can not do without speaking to Raymond in a day, all she was waiting for was for Raymond to ask her out and make everything official because she was also of the african believe that a man must always ask a woman out and not vice versa.
------------------------
Since his appointment, Prince has only been to the office twice and those two times he came and left after one hour claiming he is yet to adapt and become conversant with the working conditions.
Raymond so much detest his nonchalant attitude to work and he has made a vow to make him pay for his attitude.
This is the first time Raymond visited Tina in her one room apartment. Even though Tina told him not to come because she thinks he won't like such place but to her own suprise Raymond opted to sit on her bed rather that sit on the only plastic chair available.
"You seems disturbed." Tina said suspiciously.
"Its nothing much." Raymond replied.
"Something you can share?"
"Yeah. Its about the Cole." He replied.
"Whats about them?"
Raymond went on to explain to her how his father and his friend Cole started the company some over three decades ago and after the company blossomed into what nobody expected it to be Cole demanded for his fifty percent share of the company's assets. He took forty percent and went to start his own company. His ten percent share was what his family still shared in the company the vacant office of the General manager. While the name right and administrative affairs all bores down to the Douglas only one office was legally owned by the Cole and the office given to Mrs Cole was only a kind of compensation and she was expected to leave once Prince is ready to take his office.
"What happened to Cole's business?" Tina asked.
"He got duped and lost all the money. Billions of dollars." Raymond replied as took a sip from his bottle of coke.
"He has another business I guess. He still make his money."
"He depends on the ten percent per annum which was increased to eleven and a half percent two years ago."
"How do you intend to make things work?" She asked.
"My lawyers is working on it. I'll pay them off on the elven percent and take up the company completely. Then I'll make you the General Manager."
At the end of the day Raymond succeded in getting a positive answer when her asked Tina to be his woman to love and to cherish.

The following day at work, news making rounds was Mrs Cole's resignation. Some counted it as rumours while others took it personal like they own the company. Some bussy-bodies at work said Mrs Cole was sacked by Raymond, others said the company could no longer afford her salary and that every other interview panel are expected to follow her in the coming days and Miss Tina of valuation department will take over the department and run it alongside her valuation work. Raymond refused to show up for the next few days and speculations grew higher. Some short insighted people said Chief Douglas relieved his son of some certain duties to punish him for terminating Mrs Cole's appointment one of the company's most prized asset.
Tina refused to say a thing during that week, she was always laughing in the confines of her office at how people make stories and you'll believe it. She is one of the few people who knew the truth of the matter.
On thursday which was a day before an holiday was given to the workers to mark the day the company signed its first international contract with the Chineese government over thrity years ago. Tina's phone rang and Raymond personally spoke to her thereby summoning her presense immediately.
"Have your sit." Raymond said pointing to a vacant chair a few minutes later when Tina arrived.
"Thank you sir." Tina said before settling down on the chair avoiding his gaze.
"Juice or coffee?"
"Am okay for now." Tina replied shyly. She doesn't want to be seen as a glutton before the CEO, her crush.
"Tina, I have always seen you as one of the best and competent worker here but there is only one blemish to that which is what I hate most." Raymond began.
Tina urged him to continue.
"Were you sent or you sent yourself to eavesdrop on me?"
Tina was caught off guard as she wasn't expecting such question.
"I don't understand you sir."
"I know you won't but to make myself clear take a look." he said turning on his visual system with a remote control.
The video showed Raymond walking into Mrs Cole's office and a few seconds later Tina followed him but stood by the door eavesdropping like someone whose sole mission was to eavesdrop. And a few minutes later Tina ran away from the door and a few seconds later Raymond walked out.
"Can you explain this?"
"Yes sir. I wanted to see Mrs Cole for something but when I hear voices I decided to leave and come back later but your voice held me. I was suprised to see you in another office as you could have summoned her. Then I heard what you were discussing." Tina explained.
"Do I take that as an explanation?"
"Sir I don't eavesdrop. What you saw me doing was a mistake which I promise won't repeat itself."
"Everyone must have heard about what you heard."
"Before God and man I haven't said a thing to anybody."
"You can go." Raymond waved her off unceremoniously.
Few minutes later she was summoned for a meeting involving every worker in the company excluding the unskilled workers. The only set of people absent are those on leave and a live feed is been sent to their computers and mobile phone so they can be active.

Tina walked into the office twenty minutes late the following day looking as beautiful as ever.
"Good morning." Lola greeted.
Tina in turn sat down on her table and started gisting with her secretary.
"How did the driving lesson go?" Lola asked.
"It was not bad. But a bit stressful." Tina replied.
They talked a bit more about the driving lesson and the instructor, James who has been labelled as a womanizer. Lola explained everything in details how Mr James had made passes at every female colleague who had gone through learning how to drive under his tetulage. They gossipped a bit about Prince, something Lola has been dying to do because she was suprised to see them know each other to the extent that they went out on a date.
"I saw Clement yesterday." Tina said.
"Clement. Oh! Your man. He came here too." Lola replied.
"What do you mean?"
"Never mind madam." Lola said playfully.
"I thought he is on leave. Is he back?"
"He came to get his leave allowance. That man too like money." Lola replied.
"Leave allowance or salary?"
"Once you are on leave you'll be paid one-quater of your salary at the end of the month as your leave allowance. Then you get your full salary on the day you leave clocks a month." Lola explained.
"So many policies."
"Amounting to success. We're fine here." Lola said.
"Do you go on leaves too?" Tina asked referring to the secretary.
"Yes. Mine is when Mr Clement returns then every other person in this department gets theirs towards October." Lola replied.
"I'll be overworked." Tina said.
"No, a temporary office will be assigned to you. You'll most likely work directly with the CEO because the last occupant of your office worked in Clement's office last year."
Tina pretended like she heard nothing. She has no idea of what to do. Maybe scream in joy or get angry. But deep within her she was praying for Clement's leave to elapse so Lola can go. She'll be with Raymond, her source of happiness.
She exited Lolal's office after spending twenty minutes to begin the day's work. She was in high spirit by the time she started working because its been a while she saw someone to talk to. She felt fufilled and everything she did before the lunch break smelt super-efficiency.
After the lunch break, she recieved a mail inviting her to Clement's birthday party scheduled to hold in a week's time at his residence. She kept the message in her draft hoping she'll send her reply two days before the day. She had a feeling the invitation was a ploy for Clement to get at her but was hopeful Raymond would be present.
Tina stood up to go and see Mrs Cole in her office, the only place she is yet to visit since she began working here is the Interview Panel's department. Since she has no business there, she has no disciplinary sanctions on her to defend. Its been a while she last saw Mrs Cole.
She left her office with an envelop in which a sum of one hundred thousand naira was packaged. She got to Mrs Cole's door and stopped as she heard a familiar voice from within.
"Son, its time I leave to join my husband abroad. Then my son can take up his office now that he is twenty-seven." Mrs Cole said.
"Mum, I understand that. Prince can come and take up his office but your presence here has been a source of inspiration to me. I am at peace when I see you around here. I know nothing will go wrong once you are here." A male masculine voice pleaded.
"Its my decison and I'll stand by it. We shouldn't be arguing over this. My husband and your dad already signed this when they started the company." Mrs Cole said.
Now Tina has gotten the hit. The masculine voice she had heard was of no other person than Raymomd which she has guessed.
Then she heard footstep like someone is exiting the office. She hurriedly took to her heels without looking back.
Three minutes later from her office she saw Mrs Cole driving out of the company's premises.
"Is she leaving for real?" this is a question Tina asked herself as she sat down on her seat.

The relationship between Tina and Prince over the last few weeks had blossomed into what nobody could have anticipated. From Prince's end he seemed to have found love at last, someone to cherish, someone to love, someone to make a happy family with but he was clearly mistaken because from Tina's end she saw Prince as her brother, her friend, her confidant, her instructor and above all someone to talk to.
They had gone on series of dates, they had spent weekends together at eateries, beaches and games reserves. Prince had made passes at her but she kept on declining his request for she knew she can't marry someone like him. He is too classy for her likening while on Prince's part he believed that he is not man enough and he has been making franctic effort to win her love with his mother behind him.
Today is the 28th day of the month, the day according to the company's policy on which salaries was paid. Everyone within the walls of the Douglas Group Of Company came to work with a new found spirit. Everyone was lively, all smiles and laughing heartily. Worst enemies became friend all of a sudden even though such friendship wouldn't last. According to one man from the accounts department, he said the reason he was friends with another man from the valuation department was because he'll be collecting the money which the later is owing him.
Then her intercom rang. Tina was particularly happy on this day because she'll be going out with Raymond after lunch. She picked the call and went to the accounts department where she was given her signed pay slip which she was to take to the bank for clearing even though she had recieved alert on her phone that her bank account has been credited, so all she needed to do now is get the payslip and take it to the bank for clearing which is not all that necessary but obligatory.
"Hold my calls I'll be back in few minutes." Tina said as she left her office.
She exited the accounts department with her slip ten minutes later. She was confident that her major financial worries would be solved. Most importantly repaying part of the amount she got from Mrs Cole and stocking her out of class wardrobe.
Just as she was about entering the elevator that'll convey her back to her office floor she was accosted by a young man.
"Miss Tina?" He asked.
"Yes." She replied.
"The company has given you the mandate of taking the rest of the day off to begin your driving lessons. An instructor is waiting dowstairs with one of the company's cars." The man said and stood still waiting for her reply.
"Driving lesson? What for? But I got here barely a month ago."
"All your questions will be answered here." He said handing over an envelop to her. "Don't you know you are a senior staff." He said as he turned back to leave.
"Thank you sir."
"You are most welcomed." he replied without turning back to look at her.
Tina got back to her office, picked her things and walked out to give Lola some certain instruction after which she went to the second floor to sign out and off into the parking lot.
A car drove into the parking lot and a young gentlman in his early thirties came out, a sunshade covering his handsome fair face.
"Tina, wassup." he greeted as he removed the black sun glass.
"Mr Clement." Tina said a bit suprised.
They exchanged short official greetings as Tina hopped into the car and Clement into the company's building.

CHAPTER 3
Raymond drove into the big exclusive Douglas estate which was voted the largest in the country. Inside the estate stood many mansions and low cost houses which were all occupied by the Douglas and their staffs.
Chief &Mrs Douglas occupies one of the numerous mansion alongside their only daughter, Atinuke who just returned from the states after studying Business Administration. Their only son occupies another big bungalow where he is living the life of a typical bachelor even though he has many maids and servants at his disposal.
Instead of driving into his own apartment he diverted his car towards his parent's mansion which was presently occupied by his mother alone.
"Good evening mum." He said prostrating.
"Hello darling." Mrs Bianca Douglas replied pulling him up.
"How are you mum?"
"As you can see am fine." Bianca replied.
"I came here to say hi and pick up a book from dad's library." Raymond said as he stood up just when one of the maidservant served him snacks and juice.
"Son we need to talk." Bianca said.
Raymond knew at once what his mother wanted to talk about seeing how serious she looked.
"Am coming mum." He said as he hurriedly left the spacious living room to his father's library which was stocked with books by philosophers, tips for a successful business and books explaining extensively on leadership. He picked three books and locked the library.
"Raymond." Bianca called.
"Yes mum." he replied.
He could see how serious his mother was, so he dare not make mistakes.
"Do you realise that you are not getting younger anymore?" she asked.
He kept quiet as he was staring at his mother knowing where the discussion was heading to.
"All your mates are married, the few that are yet to get married are engaged already. Am sure you don't have a girlfriend talkless of bringing anyone home for marriage anytime soon." She continued.
Raymond laughed at the mention of girlfriend.
"Tell me, are you afraid of talking to them? I can arrange good girls who'll be you life partner and a good daughter-in-law." she said.
"Mum. Am still working on it. I'll bring your long awaited daughter-in-law very soon. Just give me time to work things out." Raymond pleaded.
"You can't do two things at a time. You can't be overseeing your father's business empire and still be on the look out for a decent girl. You have to drop one for now." She advised.
"I'll talk to dad tomorrow. We'll draw out a conclusion." he said hoping his mother will drop the topic which she did much to his suprise.
Then he realised how much he was hungry.
"Anything here to eat? Am famished." he announced.
"Your wife should be able to get that for you." She replied.
"Mum!" he exclaimed laughing.
"No, assuming you are married, your wife....." she was saying when his phone rang thereby cutting her short.
Raymond picked his phone and spoke with the caller for the next ten minutes during which Mrs Douglas exited the living room and ordered one of the maids to serve Raymond what to eat.

The rest of the week was uneventful for Tina except that her mum got discharged on friday. She has been a little bit busy with office works and some other stuffs.
"Valuation department." Tina said on picking up the call.
"Good afternoon dear." a male voice greeted.
Tina was suprised that she got a call from someone who seems to be calling for an unofficial purpose.
"Please who am I speaking with and how may I help you?" Tina asked curtly.
The caller laughed on the other end much to Tina's irritation.
"My name is Prince and...." he was saying.
"Why can't you call me on my personal line?" Tina asked.
"This is because I wanted to speak with you this minute. I also want to see you." Prince replied.
"Am in the office right now. So we can't see." Tina said.
"Am sorry to disappoint you because am on the same floor with you." Prince replied laughing.
There was a knock on the door and the door was pushed open, Prince walked in.
He was handsomely dressed in an all while attire, the young man stood 6ft 7inches in height and a bit mascular with the perfect haircut that compliment his well patterned beared.
"You are suprised. Ain't you?" He asked.
"Suprised is an understatement. I never knew you are around."
"You ought to be. Am actually in here to pay my friend a visit." Prince replied.
"Your friend? And who is the friend." she asked.
"Raymond." he replied.
"Raymond?" she asked with suprise.
"Yeah. So can I take you out?" Prince asked.
"Its not lunch time. Moreso lunch break is thirty minutes away."
"That's one of the reasons why am here. Give it a try and walk out with me. No one dare ask questions." Prince bragged.
"I'll meet you in the elevator." Tina replied without thinking.
Prince exited the office and Tina quickly reapplied her make-up and cleared her table just then the intercom rang.
"Valuation department." Tina said on picking up.
"You attention is urgently needed at the Finance department." The ever soronous secretary to the Finance director said.
Tina hissed silently and cursed inwardly.
"But lunch break is a few minutes away." Tina said hoping she'll be excused.
"Yes. But you'll be served lunch in the department." The secretary said.
"Okay I'll be there in few minutes." Tina said angrily as she hung up.
She knew at once that she'll miss going out with Prince, she'll miss lunch and also sign out an hour after the normal closing hour.
"Lola, please tell the man outside that I need to attend to an emergency." Tina told her secretary.
"Prince?" Lola asked.
"Yeah." Tina replied wondering how popular Prince must be in the whole of the comapany but a question popping into her mind is how Mrs Cole is comfortable working under her son's friend directive. Only time will tell. She concluded as she walked away through the right exit wich leads to the hallway from which other departments are assesible.

Tina left the hospital late in the night after her mother was resuscitated by the combined efforts of the doctors in the hospital. She got home just before her apartment gate was locked and she just slumped to bed and slept off.
She woke up a bit late the following morning and got prepared for work. She got to the main road and took a cab which conveyed her to her work place.
The rest of the day was uneventful as there was not much to do. The CEO is yet to be back so some important preceedings had to be suspended. Tina spent the whole day gisting with her secretary except for the time when the Financial director summoned her. She spent about three hours with the old lady who seems to be interrogating her of
something she knew nothing of. Contracts that has been completed and dusted, she was asked to explain how it was financed.
At the end of the day, she was already stressed out as she just finished with the woman and went to her office to pick up her bag. She got into the parking lot to meet Mrs Cole waiting beside her car.
"How was work today?" Mrs Cole asked.
"It wasn't bad but too much energy was exerted." Tina replied.
"But I thought you are one of the lucky people who did nothing today."
"Yeah, I was until the FD called me." Tina replied.
Mrs Cole gave a short laugh as she drove out of the compound.
"That's because you are new here. Everyone in the Valuation department has at least once fought with the annoying lady who has refused to go on leave in the last three years." Mrs Cole explained.
"Really?"
"You can ask Clement. She dare not look at him in the eyes." Mrs Cole replied.
"Does that mean I should expect more of her?"
"Definitely. She'll soon invite you to dinner in her house where you'll talk about the company's financial progress through out the night." Mrs Cole said as she slowed down her driving pace.
She took one hand off the steering and searched into her bag.
"That's the remaining hundred thousand naira I promised." she said.
"Oh! Thank you very much ma."
she ignored her as she concentrated on the road.
"Hope you are free tonight sha or are you in a hurry to see your mum?" she asked.
"Not really ma. My siblings are there with her."
"Fine. I want you to meet my humble family." Mrs Cole said smiling.
"My pleasure ma."
Mrs Cole smiled mischievously like someone who has a plan in place for her.
In over fifteen minutes later, she drove into a big mansion which was no doubt constructed by the best engineer in the country and patterned by the best architect and designed externerly by the best exterior designer. The flowers are trimmed to taste, the floors covered with italian tiles, the walls painted with arguably the best paint.
"Welcome mum." A young lady probably in her late teens greeted Mrs Cole.
"How are you dear?"
"Am fine." the girl replied smiling and looking at Tina.
"Tina this is my daughter Sharon."
"Good evening ma." Sharon said going on her knees.
"Good evening dear." Tina replied.
Sharon at once held Tina's hand and led her to a two seater couch where they both sat down and started discussing.
"Sharon. Where's your brother?" Mrs Cole asked.
"He is with the maitenance man in the garage." Sharon replied.
Mrs Cole re-emerged a few minutes later dressed in a casual night robe and a shower cap with a young and handsome guy of about twenty eight following her closely.
"Tina, this is my son. Prince."
"Hi." Tina greeted.
"Good evening." Prince greeted extending his hand for a handshake.
Mrs Cole smiled like a fufilled soldier sent on a mission to make two people meet.
"Sharon, leave the two of them alone and join me in the kitchen."
Tina wondered why the two of them must be left alone to converse but she has no choice other than to play along.
At the end of dinner when Tina was about leaving, Prince had succeeded un getting her number and her Blackberry pin. He even volunteered to drive her home much to Mrs Cole's delight.
