When I started posting this story, I almost blamed myself because I thought it was a very stup!d story so to speak. But I was proved wrong when it made the frontpage and also got over 30,000 views and still counting.
Even if the story is bad, no one has come out to say it and I will take the silence as a fact that the story is not bad.
I am always happy when I read comments, I mean interactive comments, I remember when Kingphilip and snowhyt are always debating on this thread over the turn of events.
I can only express my gratitude to you guys by listing out a few names
Prettydiva89, harjiborla10, macpetrus, stuff46, onemansquad, TrishP, Ndukings92, bigwig97, Anas09, Aprilwise, fam24, Uthman51, killercute16, sammyomotola, Neephemie, Ziziola, Shankies215, sleekbody, Aipete2, shebarh and several others. I appreciate you all.
We will try to go steadily from now on. One update per day and on some happy days when the comments are encouraging, we get two and on the days I am jobless, we get three.
Do enjoy the rest of your day.

Daniel was seated in his office, head bent on the table, deep in thoughts that he didn't know when the door opened and his secretary walked in. It wasn't until she tapped him that he knew of her presence.
"Oh! Magaret, its you."
"Yes sir. I came to drop the Eko atlantic file for you so you can go over it and sign to enable the Finance director disburse fund to the boys." She replied.
"Oh! Eko atlantic? What's that about?" He asked absentmindedly.
"Sir? Eko Atlantic, the file you gave to me when you came in this morning. Its no even up to an hour." She replied.
"Oh! Eko atlantic, I remember. I thought you said, Eko.... Never mind." He replied almost incoherently. "Where's the file?" He asked.
She gently handed the file to him but instead of walking out of the office, she remained.
"Magaret, I think you should return to your duty post or what do you think?" He asked.
"Definitely I will, but sir, I have been watching you for quite some days now and I can see something is eating you up. You are not your usual self these days. The boss I work for doesn't have his lunch in the office, I know you are always the first person to arrive at the canteen even before it is break time an you are always the last to leave, but recently, you have changed." Magaret began as she took her seat even without invitation.
"Magaret, are you a psycologist?" He asked.
"No sir."
"Can you just sit down there, look into my eyes and tell me what my problem is?"
"No sir."
"Good. And if I tell you what my problem is, will you be willing to help?" He asked.
"Of course, anything for you sir."
"Good. And I am telling you I have no problem." He said with a straightface.
"Sir, no one believes he has a problem until things turn from bad to worse. I know you won't tell me, probably because we have an history, but believe me Daniel. I know you. I know you more than you do and I sure that this problem is about your marriage with Adeola. Everyone in this firm knows, then why not tell me what the problem is and try to fix things up."
"Magaret, can you please leave?"
"I will leave, but a problem shared is half solved." She replied.
"Like right now." He stood up and hit his fist on the table.
Only a seductive smile and swaying of hips seductively was all she needed to do as she approached him, planted a kiss on his lips and sat in front if him on the the table. He couldn't help it as he downloaded everything that is wrong with his marriage life and other issues invoving Adeola and his love child.
The door opened when it was exactly an hour that Magaret arrived and Jimmy walked in.
He stopped in his tracks the moment he saw his friend and boss in such an akward position with his secretary.
"I'll see you later Daniel. Don't think about it." She said as she walked out of the office.
"Hi Jimmy." She said as she walked past Jimmy at the door.
One apologetic look from Jimmy refrained his from beating the hell out of the annoying secretary who has refused to leave his friend alone.
"Guy, you no try o. How you go download everything that is wrong in your marriage to that b!tch? Don't you know she might use it against you?"
"Guy, forget. Magaret is a good girl, she can't do such a thing. Not to me." Daniel replied.
"The Magaret I know is very desperate and would stop at nothing than to bring down your marriage. Remember the sweetheart incident, how she almost turned Adeola against you." Jimmy explianed.
"Can we talk about something else?"
"Of course. I found something about Christina." Jimmy announced and for the first time in the week, Daniel's face lit up in happiness.
"What about her child? Our child?" He asked happily.
"Cool down bruv. She lives in Lagos and her son attends one school like that in the Island." Jimmy explained further.
"Lagos? Island? Like seriously, that's your job man. You live around there. I mean you can go on leave for the rest of the year, just make sure my child returns to me." Daniel said.
Jimmy bursted into laughter. Afterall, its good to see his friend in good mood. And he was ready to do anything to help his friend, afterall, he would be doing himself a lot of good if Daniel should get reunited with his child. It means, his secret with Adeola won't come into open.
"Here." He said passing some pictures to his friend.
Daniel collected the pictures and scanned through them. Everytime he came accross Christina in the pictures, he was quick to change it.
"The boy looked a lot like me. Christopher, what a nice name." He thought.

__________________________________________

The feeling that surged through Serena's body that moment could not be described with words. She just prayed that the ground open and swallow her, and never to let her out again, or better still, she should just ascend to heaven where she would be free of all these troubles.
The dissappointed look on her father's face told her he overheard her speaking and arguing with Stephanie. How would she get out of this? Was the question on her mind she as she decided to rough everything by pretending to be innocent. Something youruba students call 'ogboju.'
"Where do you think you are going?" Her father asked just as she walked past him.
"Inside of course." She replied smiling. A risk that is worth taking if things go well, but if things went otherwise, then she would be in double trouble. One for the initial offence committed and the other for seeing it as nothing because she was smiling.
She had realised over the years that beneathe the handsome looking, strongwilled, disciplinarian of her dad lied a gentleman whose only problem with the women folk is smile. Once you are able to smile at him, he looses his anger one bit.
"Who is that?" He asked.
"Who are you talking about dad?" she asked, still smiling.
"Young lady, don't play pranks on me. Who is the girl that just left now?"
That moment, Serena could only blame two people for her predicament, one her mother who had toiled with her father's patience to the extent that he doesn't care anymore and Stephanie who after kissing Jake still had the guts to come to her house. As much as she tried not to think about Jake, she still found herself blaming him. Maybe if he hadn't organised any stupid party, all these wouldn't have happened.
"That's Stephanie now. My friend who came to give me my laptop the other day."
"Yes, I know she is the one. Can I have a look at your laptop?"
"Of course, but the battery is down, so I am thinking I should just plug it inside to charge while you look at it." She returned a few seconds later. She couldn' afford to let the gateman who had a triumphant look on his face watch her get punished.
"Young lady, there is a socket somewhere here."
Serena returned into the house and returned to the verandah with the laptop in hand.
"Here sir." She handed it to him and he switched it on.
The computer came on and a minute later, it requested for the passcode.
"Let me do it." She said.
"Young lady, will you tell me the passcode?" He raised his voice and that moment, she knew she had lost the case.
"LovelyJake sir." She replied with a shaky voice.
She could see him shake his head as he typed the words and the next minute, the homepage came on and he shook his head further. Because, as much as he tried to navigate his way through the icons, he couldn't see them because Jake's picture was everywhere.
"Is this the boy?" He asked as he finally got to her files.
She nodded her head.
"Listen to me as I speak. You have over hundred of this boy's picture on your computer, you have just one of my pictures, you have fifteen pictures of your mother, five belonging to Nathan and Davies is just unimportant that you couldn't save at least one of his pictures."
"No daddy."
"I can still remember those days that we take group pictures every sunday. While Nathan uses his camera, you use your phone, can't you transfer them to your computer?"
She watched in horror as her father went to the recycle bin and all the pictures involving every member of her family, including the one taken in group were swimming in the bin.
"Serena, how much worse can this get?"
"Am sorry daddy." She had dropped to her knees.
"Are you saying this boy is more important than your family members?"
"No sir, he is just a friend." She replied.
"You know I don't like beating you, don't make me change my mind. The only friend I know you have is that girl who just left now, and to my suprise, you don't have any of her pictures."
She watched as her father operated he computer like a wizard. She knew she was in for a double treat. One for Jake's picture and their relationship and the other trouble would be about her having a boyfriend.
"How old are you if I may ask.
"Eighteen sir." She replied.
"Which means you are an adult and you can have boyfriends right?" He asked.
She could only shake her head.
"And I think I overheard one of you saying he studies in America."
"Yes sir." she replied, thinking it would soften her father's heart because he would see him as a boy with a bright future.
"Do you know I have the money to sponsor you education in America?" He asked.
She nodded.
"I am not... going out with him because he studies in America." She defended.
"So, why are you going out with him?"

Christina was dishing out instrution to the field agents who worked directly under her. She was dressed in a white long sleeve body hugging top and a black jean trouser. Even though she had every body parts in moderation, her chest region was relatively small but she loved it that way, because according to her, she couldn't move about with a heavy heart and also a heavy chest. But what she lacked in the chest was made up to her with her averaged size bottom. All thanks to her once a week fitness jog, she would have lost shape a long time ago.
"No stones would be left unturned as forensic reports and video footage would be sent this morning and from there we take it up. Even though suspects have been arrested by the police and by the time they bring them in for question, I want whoever would be handling the session to be civil and try as much as possible to get facts from them."
The door into the hall opened and Mark walked in with his usual serious face and I don't give a damn look.
"Hi guys." He greeted as he stopped beside Christina.
About half of them responded by waving their hands while the other half gave him a look of you-are-no-needed-here.
"Mark, I believe it was clearly stated that the resumption time every day is seven o'clock. While you have until seven thirty in case of traffic. Look at the time you are coming in." Christina complained as she checked her wirstwatch.
"To start with, its just eight thirty and I will say I am sorry for coming late. Moreso, no one told me about the resumption time." He replied much to Christina's suprise.
Could he really be this sober for once?
"But you were given the book of ethics."
"Oh! Yes I was, but I couldn't read what was written in it. They are just too much for one person." He replied as he without invitation approached the table which stood in front of Christina and picked a blue covered note.
"I will keep breaking rules, at least, for the first one month that I am here. And as I break the rules, you'll tell me what I should have done."
Now he has returned to his former self, the pride was back and the thought that no one could sanction him has taken over his reasoning.
Well, who could sanction him? Nobody. Afterall, he was invited to come ASSIST/HELP in the fight against terrorism. But above all, Christina was happy because she was able to boss him at least for once.
"That will be all for now guys. And thanks for your time." Christina said as she collected the book from Mark and started tidying the table.
"Agent Tina, I would like to see you." A youngman said just as he was about exiting the hall with his colleagues.
"Agent Idriss, you can go wait for me in my office, I will join you soonest." Tina replied as she picked a small bag where she had shoved all the books which laid on the table one minute ago and made to walk out of the room when Mark did the unexpected by grabbing her by the shoulders and pushing her against the nearest wall.
"What the hell were you thinking when you said I broke a rule? Who are you to boss me around?" He asked.
"The last time I checked, I am in charge here and so far no one is above the law, I think there should be no exception. Even Collins who is the boss here, if he is found wanting I can order his arrest." Christina replied looking at his tall domineering figure. She felt like a dwarf in front of a giant.
"You are hurting me." She said and he released his grip on her.
"The next time you try sh!t with me, you'll be suprised." He said, but still held on to her.
"There is nothing to be suprised about. I am in charge here, regardless of where you are coming from, or where you work, you answer directly to me." She replied.
"Let's wait and see." And that moment, he brought his face close to hers such that, he could feel the hot breathe escaping her nostrils and he knew she could feel his too. He looked deeply into her eyes and he could see the vulnerability as she shivered within.
A part of her wanted to kiss him because the last time she got kissed from a man was about five years ago, aside the pecks she recieved from her son when everything was still rosy between them.
"Let me go." She whispered and that moment he released the grip on her finally.
She grabbed her bag and ran out of the hall. A part of her was happy because she could resist, while another part was sad because she blew up the opportunity to be kissed. But the ultimate question was; did he really want to kiss her?
The moment she took the last bend which led to the staircase, her scream echoed round the floor as she threw herself to the ground.
Lying on the floor was agent Idriss who she asked to go wait for her in her office in the pool of his own blood.

This was the exact thing I told the INEC official training us. Its quite funny that its revealing itself now. These card readers can fuel violence more than the normal ones we're using.

How can you explain to a man that registered in a polling unit that his thumb print cannot be identified or he's not supposed be in a polling unit? And you say the verification process will only span for 4hours. Some of these voters are touts and have low tolerance level.

CHAPTER 3
Adeola walked out of the bathroom with a small towel hung on her neck and dressed in a nightie that stopped just at mid tigh. She approached the giant mirror that stood just at the wardrobe door and dabbed her face with the towel as she dried the water on it. Its been almost a week that she started having problems with her husband, Daniel Martin. Ever since he found out that she has a damaged womb which means she will never be able to have a child of her own except God comes to her rescue. He has been acting up and avoiding her like plague. He no longer eats in the house, he returns home late in the night when he was sure that she would be asleep or preparing to go to bed, then he'll sneak into the restroom and sleep and early the next morning, say 4am, he would enter their room quietly and pick his clothes for the day and other things he would be needing. And latest by 5am, he had already driven out of the house.
Even though he said he had no problem with her having a damaged womb, but the manner through which her womb go spoilt was the main issue. She had an abortion while they were still in school and what angered him the more was the fact that when he impregnated a lady back in school, Adeola was on his neck, stopped associating with the girl, attacked her at every opportunity she get, called the girl all manner of degrading names that one would think she was a saint.
The question he put to her when she managed to enter his office this afternoon, thanks to her position as the sole heiress to company. He had told her to tell him whoever impregnated her that time and the reason why she had to sleep with another guy.
--TWELVE YEARS AGO
The various decisions that we take at various stages in our lives have a way of shaping our future. It was no longer a rumour that Daniel Martins, the guy with the poor background who was dating Adeola Smart, the daughter of the richest man in Nigeria had impregnated Christina Olukolade who happened to be Adeola's bestfriend and sister. And everywhere she went, people are always pointing at her as the unfortunate girl who couldn't give her boyfriend the baby he wants. The worst part was that by this time, Christina had moved out of school and Daniel no longer spends time in school, he was due to travel out of the country at the end of the week, all thanks to her father.
She lost her senses when a young girl walked up to her.
"Do you still have the plans of settling down with Daniel? Girl you better think it through. What do you think would happen to his baby mama? Will he forget her just like that? If you are to marry him, his love child will be a problem to your marriage, his baby mama would be a nightmare. Think." And the girl walked away.
That day, she invited Jimmy, who was Daniel's bestfriend and slept with him without any form of protection, thinking it would hurt Daniel, but she ended up hurting herself, because she realised after the act that she had no moral justification to condemn her boyfriend or her preganant friend.
By the time Daniel arrived the United States, they had made up and she was pregnant, but the best option was to abort, but things didn't go as planned and her womb got damaged, a secret she had always kept to herself for almost twelve years and until she got married to Daniel six years ago, she didn't believe her damaged womb could be a problem.
[/b]THE PRESENT[/b]
She thought about how best it is to explain to her husband that his bestfriend was responsible for the pregnancy which destroyed her womb, how would he take it? Was the question on her mind. The first thing that would happen is a divorce, regardless of the undying love Daniel had professed to her. Afterall, he was still with her because he believed the only way to pay back her kindness and that of her father is to remain in the marriage, no matter what.
And for the sake of her father's status in the country and in world at large, she can't afford to let her marriage tarnish his image. Afterall, not everybody knew her, she was not the outgoing type and the first time she got in the news was six years ago when she got married and six years later, she was about to get into the news for a second time, because the union which was the talk of the town for many weeks six years ago had turned sour and divorce is happening.
"Hell no, I need to do something about this."

CHAPTER 8
Inside her hotel room, Anita was lying on the only sofa in the room, her head placed on her boyfriend's laps.
"Are you listening to me at all?" She asked.
"Of course, I am listening to you." Barrister Olu replied.
"So, what do you see to that? Should I extend my stay in the hotel or I move into your house?" She asked.
"I am against you extending your stay in the hotel. And moving into my house is a very bad idea." He replied.
"How is it a bad idea? Afterall, I will be indoor everytime and moreso, your wife is not in Nigeria as we speak."
"Anita, its like you are not seeing what I am seeing o."
"What are you seeing?" She asked.
This is the fourt time in a week that they will be having this discussion that will always turn to arguement. Ever since Olu complained about being see in a hotel, Anita had requested that she moved into his house.
"What about my children? I mean, they are matured enough to know what is going on. Even the calls I recieve from you at home, they no longer trust me."
"Your children won't be a problem. Afterall, you are my husband's cousin. I am Mrs Thomas, you are Mr Thomas. They know me, they know about the family ties...." She was saying when he cut her short.
"Save it Anita. Save it. They knew about the divorce."
After minutes of arguement, they both concluded that renting a flat would be the best thing to do. And after another round of s*x which has became a norm and a everyday thing, Barrister Olu drove out of the hotel, with Anit seated beside him.
-------------
One hour later, he pulled the car up in front of an old friend's house according to him and he held Anita's hand as they walked into the compound.
"Uncle James." He called on the elderly man who was about entering his flat.
"Ah ah ah, Olu Thomas. Is this you?" The elderly man replied as he approached them.
"It is me o Uncle." Barrister Olu replied.
"The law!" The elderly man said and they all bursted into laughter except Anita who was staring at a yellow mercedez benz which was parked inside the compound. The car looked a lot familiar.
"Let's go inside." Uncle James said.
"Its okay like this, we'll be leaving in the next ten minutes."
And while Uncle James called on one of his grandchildren, Olu took his time to remember how he met James.
It was many years ago when Olu was still in the university, that James who at the time was over thirty years old joined them and fortunately for him, he was given Law as a course. He was very brilliant, but according to him, he only wanted to have his degree certificate, which was why he was in class with people he was over ten years older than. In the end, Olu graduated, but didn't further his education, neither did he attend the Law school. Which was why till date, he still call Olu 'The Law' because he claimed he studied law while he(James) spent seven years in the department of Law.
"So, what brings you here?" James asked.
"It is my wife here o. She needs to rent an apartment and I know how good Uncle James is at that."
James gave a short laugh.
"So, you later choosed to be like Uncle James who has two wives?" James asked.
"Don't mind me, abi wetin man go do? One dey America, the other dey Nigeria. Balance equation." Olu replied.
And that moment, James exchanged pleasantry with Anita.
Just as Anita uncorked the bottle of coke in front of Olu, as she made to do the needful to her own, her world came crashing before her.
"James, the community head sent his regards." Patrick Thomas, the head of the Thomas family and also Oluwole's(Anita's ex husband) elder brother.
"Oh! You have a visitor?" He asked as he approached them.
"Yes o. My friend Olu and his wife."
Patrick stopped in his tracks as he saw his younger cousin, Barrister Olu Thomas and his brother's ex wife. Even though he wasn't in support of the divorce, his plan was that, as soon as he returns to Nigeria, he would find a way to bring the two couples together. And he already spoke to Anita and assured her while he was in in the states.

The moment when everyone thought you are dead, after you were attacked in your home and rather than feel sober and mourn your death for even a minute, they were rejoicing like your death will pave way for many blessings.
Colonel Mark Ashimolowo Anthony on the 17 of April 1987 was attacked in his home by coup plotters and he was shot, while his wife ran away with his son when he realised that she connived with them to come attack him when he is least expecting it. He also couldn't find his little daughter who at that time was two years old and the most painful aspect of it all was how the news of his death was celebrated. He knew it would be dangerous to spend another night in his private residence, therefore, with the help of some loyal officers, he was smuggled into the republic of Togo where he underwent treatment and five years later, he travelled to India where he had a facial surgery that had a little effect in changing in outlook from being light skinned to a little bit dark, something Nigerians call chocolate skinned.
As a friend of Sheik Mosur Al Biya, the president of Egypt, Mark Anthony has enjoyed various level of impunity and immunity in the continent of Africa under the disguise of the name, Al Yakub. Mark Anthony made known his decision to punish everyone in Nigeria for celebrating his downfall thirty years ago and the masterminds of the attack in his homw that night, and an agent of darkness they say is an enemy of the man who invented electricity and the electric bulb, because the sole importance of electricity and the bulb is to illuminate the dark areas, therefore, killing the chances of the 'dark agents' in doing something bad. While a dark agent will be a catalyst to someone who is ready to destroy electricity and the bulb. Such was the case when, Sheik Al Biya met with Mark Anthony fifteen years ago in Cairo.
"How much have you gotten about the woman?" Mark Anthony asked one of his men who was working on a computer.
"Nothing much sir, except that she now lives in America." The man replied.
"Any trace that she has a child?" Mark Anthony asked.
"Possibly sir. She has a son, but his profile is not made public."
"Let me see."
The young man quickly carried his laptop and walked over to where his boss was seated.
His jaw twitched the moments he set his eyes on his wife's picture.
"Grace... Grace." He muttered.
Another picture came into display and here, a young man who he would recognise anywhere was kneeling down in front of a young lady, an half caste with a ring in his hand. Probably he was proposing to the lady and beside them was Grace who was smiling away. He kept staring at the picture on the screen until a smile displayed accross his face.
For the next ten minutes, he was looking at the pictures on Grace's facebook page and he was impressed with the happiness in her life and his son's life. But, where could his daughter be?
The event of the night came playing in his mind. How Grace grabbed his son's hand and raced out of the house. And he could remember asking about, Eniola prior to the entry of his attackers, to which Grace said Sisi, the housemaid then was preparing her for sleep.
Meaning, if Grace had left the environment that night, she could only have left with Junior and prior to her running away, his attackers ransacked the house and returned with the report that no one was in the house, meaning, Sisi must have escaped with little Eniola.
Now that he has confirmed the location of his wife and son, he needed to look for his daughter to make a complet family, after which he would kill Grace for conniving with the enemies thirty years ago.
"We are jetting down to Nigeria tomorrow. Tell this to Sheik." He told the young man who dutifully walked out of the room.
He continued checking the pictures until his eyes caught something. His son was pictured with several white men and women in suit and in the background stood the symbol of the America's leading intelligence agency, THE CIA.

As she directed the driver who had driven them all the way from Abuja to her destination, she decided to engage him in a conversation.
"Since when have you been working with the president?" She asked.
"Quite a long time madam. I have been with him, right from the time he was the speaker, house of assembly in his state." The man replied as he stepped on the brought the car to a halt as the traffic light turned red.
"And you enjoy working with him?" She asked.
"Of course. I have been with him for almost fifteen years now and I will remain with him until my retirement." He replied.
Tina bursted into laughter.
"Retire? Are you a government worker?" She asked.
"Well, I retire the day my first son recieves his first salary." He said and stepped on the gas.
Christina looked at him from where she sat on the backseat like he was an alien from another planet.
"Madam, don't be suprised. Why am I working? To take care of my home of course and why should I continue working when my child is already earning something bigger? He'll pay my pension and gratuity." He explained.
"Please stop here." She said.
"Madam, but I thought you said your house is located in the next street."
"Yes, I have to pick up my son from my brother's place." She replied.
"I see. But why not let me drop you off and if possible drive you both to your house. I can even drive you to the airport so you can pick your car."
"Aha ha. All these for me? Abeg. Please, you still have a long way to go. Remember you are returning to Abuja tonight."
"Abuja is not in my plans tonight. I'll find somewhere to sleep then return tomorrow morning."
"If you don't mind..." She got a control of herself just before she completed the sentence. She would have told him to come pass the night in her house, but not with Christopher around.
"A hotel, I guess." She said.
"No, my family lives in Lagos." He replied.
The both gisted for a while until he ignited the car and drove until he got to the next street where Tina insisted that she alighted. After much persuasion, the man agreed and exchanged numbers with her. Tina then opted to walk the remaining distance to her brother's house where Christopher has been staying since she travelled.

According to him, his mission in Nigeria is to destabilize the economy of the nation and to bring unrest to the citizen. He was forcefully indoctrinated into the army and was used to wage war against the other soviet states. At the end of the war, the United nations came in and the union was dissolved, and Russia being a capitalist state lost its major investors to other soviet states on the ground that the Russian government has been cheating other nations who made up the capitalist union and about fifty percent of the profit returns belonged to Russia while the other fourteen countries in the union take the other fifty percent.
All these was possible because, Russia was an emerging world power at the time and with a strong based millitary and arms production, they were able to victimize the other soviet nations into dancing to their tunes.
Ranked milliatary officers were at the end of the war retired and payed exhorbitant gratuities, while the recruits were dissolved without even a word of thanks. Lovato led the other dissolved recruits and protested against the decision of the government, but when it became clear that no one would do their biddings, they ransacked the millitary base in Moscow got away with dangerous weapons of destruction. They were all declared wanted and they fled to other parts of Europe and Asia.
Lovato being a public figure was invited by an African dictator and sice then, he has been used against several African countries. The tides have changed and Lovato is working in the western part of Africa on the orders of an African president and a Former millitary ruler in Nigeria whom everyone thought had died.

They had just finished meeting with the president of the Federal republic of Nigeria, his vice and other security lawmakers at the presidential villa. And as they prepared to be driven to their hotel so they can return to Lagos the foolwing day by air, Mark dropped the bombshell when he reiterated his desire to return to Lagos by road. Even though Christina had no problem with returning to Lagos by road, Mark made matters worse when he said they must leave the city of Abuja immediately.
"But, why the rush?" She asked, keeping her anger in check. Afterall, Mark had succeeded in instilling fear in her, such that, he now seemed to be in control and his decision must stand.
"I need to be in Lagos today, that's all." He replied.
"That's good for you then. I'll join you tomorrow, there is no way, I will allow my return ticket to waste. Goodbye." she said and made for the SUV which was supposed to drive them to the hotel, but his strong hand grabbed her.
"You are going to Lagos with me. We need to put some things in place before we go all out against this faceless insurgent group. And the best time to do that is now."
"Good, but we can do whatever we want to do here." She suggested.
"This the FCT young lady and not Lagos. The state under attack is Lagos and not FCT." Maek yelled and Tina dutifully entered the backseat with him and the driver drove off.
Fifty minutes into their journey, Mark brought out his laptop and opened it, the first thing that caught Christina's eyes were the pictures flooding his window page. A beautiful lady strucked different poses in each of the pictures and with the red symbol of love all over the screen, she concluded that the lady must either be his wife or wife to be. She was less concerned about his love life anyways and who talks about his love life when he/she couldn't even open his mouth to talk to you on a normal day.
"Where is this?" He asked.
Even though She had never been to Abuja in her life, she was still able to answer him, thanks to her observant nature. She was quicck to sight a signpost by the roadside.
"That's the stadium road." She replied, hoping that he would be impressed that she knew the way around Abuja, but his response made he regret answering his question in the first place.
"I know its the stadium road, I just wanted to be sure, because I have never seen stuffs like this in America. Stadium road? Amd sure there will be bank road or even church road in this country." He said.
"Yeah, there is Bank road almost in every state of the federation. Church road? I don't know, but many bus stops are named after churches." she replied.
"Bank road, tell me more. How many banks are on that road?" He asked sacarstically.
"They are not on the road. But by the roadside..." she was saying when he cut her short.
"Now I get the picture." He said rudely.
Just when they were about to enter Kogi state, he spoke to her again.
"Welcome to the confluence state. What's that about?" He asked.
"Its Kogi state. Where our two major rivers met. The Niger and the Benue." she explained.
"So, are we gonna see these rivers?" He asked.
"Yeah. We'll pass the Niger bridge." She replied.
"You know, you should have studied something relating to Geography. You would have thrived more, rather than waste for time as an intelligence agent."
That was the height of discouragement she had even experienced in her life. Even though, she didn't feel bad considering the person who said it, but its quite disheartening for your partner on a job to tell you how bad you are at doing the job.
"No offence intended. Am just saying." He quickly added.
She looked at him briefly and smiled. Afterall, there might be a good side of him that she would grow fond of, but for now, he should enjoy the superiority while it lasts.
Christina slept all the way from Kogi till they reached Akure and on waking up, she realised her head was placed on his shoulder and he didn't seem to mind. And immediately she took her head off.
"You are awake? I was thinking I'll have to carry you into your room tonight if you didn't wake up." He joked and she smiled.
"And you know, you look beautiful when asleep." He said without looking at her.
"Thanks, but don't tell me you were staring at me all these while." She joked.
"No, I wasn't. You actually placed your head on my laps at some point, so I was able to see your face."
She flushed with embarrassment that moment but quickly hid it.
"Who is that?" She asked pointing at the lady on his computer screen.
"Its my computer, my business, not yours." He replied as he shut down the device and put it inside its bag.
The rest of the journey back to Lagos was spent in silence until they go to his hotel where they parted.

Olanireti:
Hi guys, as much as we are enjoying the story, the suspense is killing. This is why i like reading finished stories cus i don't like suspense. Though, i understand it's not easy writing a story and how busy you might be with your daily schedule. But nevertheless, try to Minimize the waiting time. Kudos to you.
I understand your point and I can categorically tell you that being busy is not what is stopping me from updating. If you followed All in a circle, you'll see that the way and manner which I update per day is yet to be matched on this section, but one factor responsible for that is the comments.
I want to believe that since the story started, you have commented over 5 times, but then some people didn't comment until the story ended and I never cared because the comments are just so many.
I will update today, no doubt, but it is only when the comments improve that I will be encouraged to post more often.
Thanks anyways.
