Christianity EtcRe: I Was Richer Than RCCG As Lecturer – Adeboye by dabraska: 10:37am On Feb 20, 2017
DaySpringer:
The pastor is a worker in the house of the Lord, there are many other workers in the house of the Lord too.

Why didn't you quote the part of the bible where it was said that the tithe is for the Servants of the Lord?
If you work, don't they pay you? even if it is just small stipends for transportation to be coming to work everyday, it is necessary.

You people act like the people working for God are the undead and do not need small thing even if it is for transportation and for little feeding so that they can be encouraged.
Yes those people might not ask for it but as a man of God, you give the people that show dedication and spend their time making sure that the house of God is running and working something.
Do you people expect God to drop money straight from heaven?

Are you God to be determining what is Sacred and what is not?
If God determines that his "Sacred" funds which he does not need by the way is to be used for his dedicated servants when who are you to be "Quoting" his word for him?

Mtchewww Nonsense Critics
When God calls you, he provides how you'll survive. Unless you call yourself, then you look for means to survive. When Noah was called to build an ark, he didn't need to source for animals to enter the ark. They came in pairs. When the multitude were fed, God multiplied the food.

So when you try to analyse how offerings and tithes should be shared rationally, it kinda feels like He's not there. Don't insult God.

This is wrong on many levels. Exposing your child to things like this at a very young age is the recipe for disaster. This is too early!
CelebritiesRe: Gordons: "2face Is The Only Illiterate Who Can Sing Correctly" by dabraska: 8:59pm On Feb 07, 2017
What nonsense did this one just say? All these while that musicians have been singing against government, what has it changed? Why are Nigerians backward thinkers? Hating on our own fellow man. Do you even know the reason for a protest?

A protest goes beyond your immediate environment. Foreign and global media houses like CNN will cover it. The nation becomes very aware. It becomes a big deal. Musicians using their music to protest is completely useless! Tuface did well.
CelebritiesRe: Basketmouth Supports Tuface Cancellation Of Nationwide Protest - Nigerians React by dabraska: 5:19am On Feb 06, 2017
This right here is the main problem.

The churches who are supposed to invoke morality and be in the fore front of the whole thing are standing back and watching from afar. Tuface hasn't failed us, THE CHURCHES HAVE FAILED US!

texazzpete:
For most protests to work, people need a critical mass of followers to make the Government sit up and take notice. And in our country, only Pastors or mega celebrities wield this much power to pull a large number of people.

Up until now, this class of Nigerians that the masses have elevated have done the bare minimum to push for change. They've made a killing seeking the patronage of the wealthy, corrupt elite that has nearly killed Nigeria. They've been part and parcel of the rot...people given power and responsibility who only flex that power in showcasing their latest cars and babes on Instagram...or Pastors who focus their efforts on fleecing congregations instead of preaching against corruption and injustice.

Now after a spectacular failure of one of the privileged ones to be the catalyst to spur a popular demonstration, they've descended to relentless rounds of back slapping and fist pumping for "at least we tried".

Rubbish.

And they can keep quiet about the whole "nobody is doing anything" rubbish. Oby Ezekwesili has been protesting in two successive administrations for BBOG...a former minister who should even have more skeletons in her closet than Tuface can dream of. Yet she's not been scared off.

Well, You may be right afterall. I'm ignorant about a lot of things. To that I agree. Let's look at it this way:

A policeman, based on suspicion can choose to search you without a warrant. This is called an emergency exception. Please you can check Google if in doubt. My brother's car in the U.S has been searched a couple of times for no reason. He finds it funny but I believe that they are just doing their job.

masonkz:
You really are ignorant.

Tell me one advanced country where this is done. Smh.

CrimeRe: Man Shares His Police Brutality Experience In Lagos (Pics + Video) by dabraska: 8:04pm On Jan 07, 2017
Brother, I totally agree with you. You'd also agree with me that wisdom, in this part of the world is necessary. Only a man who's alive can fight. A dead man is gone and forgotten. In emergency exeptions, no warrant is needed. Please check Google. The policemen can easily claim that it's an emergency situation.

pesty100:
why should we leave warrant alone? Getting details from you is different from been told to unlock your phone. No police man has the right to search your house without warrant talk less your phone. I don't think we should always turn the other check i believe the right thing should be done in the face of any adversary.
CrimeRe: Man Shares His Police Brutality Experience In Lagos (Pics + Video) by dabraska: 7:44pm On Jan 07, 2017
Let's leave warrants alone. A policeman can walk up to you and get details from you at his/her discretion. It's also done abroad. Remember hat these guys are first human before being uniform men. So there is the tendency to misbehave. However, If a policeman walks up to you, kindly comply and when he's done and can't find nothing, then you have a case.

pesty100:
show me the statue that allows police to tell you to unlock your phone without a warrant
CrimeRe: Man Shares His Police Brutality Experience In Lagos (Pics + Video) by dabraska: 7:39pm On Jan 07, 2017
While I agree with your method of reasoning and the reasons behind them, I may be wrong. But let's look at the facts critically. A policeman stops you to check your phone and since you have nothing to hide, why don't you show them?

Putting in consideration the clime we are in. Your phone is your property, but understand that your state is kept clean from these yahoo boys and criminals because of random searches like these. Police guys are crazy no doubt, but I want to believe that they won't hold you for things that you aren't guilty of. It's more like a stop and search. It's done all over the world. You don't need a search warrant to do that. If you had obliged, there won't be a need for a scene.

adrusa:
This is a very silly comment. No policeman has a right to ask you to unlock your phone without a proper reason backed up by a warrant. It is like a random policeman batching into your home and ask for a search with no prior case, no warrant, no nothing. It is because mumus like you oblige them that makes them get emboldened to continue such stupid thing. No policeman can ask to see my phone not to talk of unlocking it.
CrimeRe: Man Shares His Police Brutality Experience In Lagos (Pics + Video) by dabraska: 12:57pm On Jan 07, 2017
No offence to the guy but he was wrong. Police asked you to unlock your phone. C'mon show it to them! They have the right to ask to search your phone or belongings. That's why they are policemen. You refusing to open your phone is not right.

However, how you could have had a case is if you were being accused wrongly of being a yahoo boy after your phone has been searched.

Such a detailed review. This piece has made me more interested in seeing the movie. Thanks.

However, I do have a few questions bro;
I'd like to watch the movie but seeing as its my first time ,I have a few questions;
1) How much does the ticket cost at silverbird abuja(I want to go on Thursday)

2)Would you recommend snacks during the movie? and how expensive are they?

3) Does the movie schedule correspond with what they have online? as I wouldn't like to miss it due to misinformation.

Thanks.

Hmmmn. Men cannot do without women. I agree but please remind me again why God created Eve for Adam? Also, the bible also says that men were not created from women but women from men. 1 Corinthians 11 vs 8-9. Does that signify equality? You can read that bible passage.

Have an enlightened New Year wink wink wink

dealslip:
You are still avoiding the verse of the Bible that said submit one to another. You know the truth but you have deliberately ignored it. A dog is a dog you can turn and twist it as you like. He created man male and female and he called them man and he blessed them he never said anywhere that anyone is less. You can continue to believe the lie you have in your mind but a female is equal to a male. They are both human being God gave mandate to be fruitful and multiply and rule the earth. Your use of fingers as examples defeat your own arguement already. You use of examples that men are taller than women is even more childish. I am taller many men. That mustake them lower than me. Low self esteemed and unenlightened minds like yours need some claim to importance and relevance hence your continuous delusions. Your pen.is and hairy chest doesn't make you superior to the female specie. Deal with the truth. Have an enlightened new year.

Mschew!!! There isn't an equality anywhere. Don't live in fantasyland.

Our physical anatomies don't even support it. A woman has a womb, takes in and for nine months, goes through a series of hormonal imbalances. This affects their work and relationships with people. After giving birth, have to breastfeed their kids. This takes them off corporate duty for a while. I know a number of ladies that are completely horrible when on their period. Does this mean that the male gender are superior because we don't have/do all of that? NO! Absolutely NOT!

A woman sparked outrage sometime ago when she was breastfeeding her child in the middle of a government meeting. Does that even sound right to you? And you say we are equal. The women species are so blessed that the men even envy them but the women want to be like the men now.

dealslip:
Broke ass insignificant cockroach grin grin ;DD. This is so true. The society has destroyed their mind by making them think they are entitled to authority. Honestly I have met men whom I adore so much. These sweetmen earn my respect anytime without asking for it because they recognise fast that women are their equal and fellow human being.

I hate to bring it to you but you are the one with the limited knowledge of Feminism.

Safarigirl is right. Completely! Feminism isn't the fight against Male Supremacy or Male Dominance (whatever that means). If not, it would have be coined differently. It's the fight for EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES! No one is talking of male dominance. Don't be so bitter about the male gender.

You must have heard of scenarios that women are allowed to do things just because they are women. ("Leave am, na woman she be"wink. Do you know Feminism is about not being allowed to be treated that way? Even if it takes away their 'advantage'?? Let the everyone get the same opportunity. Be enlightened. More reason why I said 'Feminism' is flawed in Nigeria.

We go on to shout how much of a feminist Hilary Clinton is but we forget that she stayed with to her husband who allegedly cheated on her. Alakija says she still cooks and takes care of her husband. Abeg, what tangible material thing is her husband contributing to the family that Alakija cannot contribute 10 folds? Does that mean her husband should share the responsibilities of the house with her?

One more thing, your understanding of a subject matter need not be overtly expressed with big grammar. Let people understand what you are saying. Don't confuse us.

DarkRebel101:

I have no qualms with you being stalwart in your belief that the sheer fact of you owning a vagïna places you several strata below the male species. Excuse my French.

You are free to grovel at the feet of a man all you want, but you have no right to flip-flop when it's convenient for you.

The core purpose of the feminist movement is to make the equality of the sexes a breathing reality.

You say you don't believe the sexes are equal, yet you extol feminism and highlight the virtues of the movement. Sounds like you're contradicting yourself to me.

If men are superior to women, then they – men – should be able to harass them sexually without getting questioned.

So, yes, bringing an end to sexual harassment is a step toward gender equality.

Here are the other achievements of feminism you highlighted, and which indicate a nudge in the direction of gender equality:

Bla Bla Bla, no one's talking about radical feminism here.

Educate yourself, dear. Your knowledge of the subject appears to be very limited - that explains the contradictions.

Lool. I laugh my head off when I hear ladies talk about how lazy and less intelligent men are.

If you have a boss at the workplace. Even though you are smarter than him, does that make you share same responsibilities with him? Complaining to yourself and a few loved ones will earn you the comfort that you so deserve but he's your boss. You could be higher than him in all levels but hey! He's your boss.

The true feminists are actually submissive to their husbands. They just want equal opportunities. No carry fire for your head.
FamilyRe: Twitter User Slams Feminists, Teaches Them "How To Keep A Home" by dabraska: 10:37pm On Dec 30, 2016
"Chauvinism is the same as, rather than the opposite of feminism. If feminism was really about equal treatment of the genders, it would be called humanism or equalism. There is no opposite to feminism in existence. That's part of the problem.

Well this is the result from the Google search for opposite of feminism.

If you are feminist, fight for equal opportunities for women. Don't come here and talk about why men must take up responsiblities at home. It is your responsibility.

I'll repeat it again. Marriage is not based on two equal people loving themselves. It's about one complimenting the other. If you are okay with gays and lesbians openly getting married. Then I have no argument with you. But if you oppose that and then you come here to say that women should be equal to men. Whathuh

You are right. I got the definition wrong. Please scream yaaay.

However, gender equality with regards to women's right explains my post. It's not about who is to share responsibilities with males at home. Like I said, women are doing things already and that's what feminism is about. Not women proposing and not because she's working, responsibilities at home should be shared.

[q1uote author=lovelygurl post=52397140]

I'm sooooo happy you said in your opinion who am I to say your opinion is wrong

Sooooo? Now am I supposed to scream yaaay or what?

FamilyRe: Twitter User Slams Feminists, Teaches Them "How To Keep A Home" by dabraska: 4:53pm On Dec 30, 2016
Lool. I'll just assume that you would propose to your man.

In my opinion, Feminism is advocacy for women rights. Equality is advocacy for equal gender rights. They are different. Feminism is understanding the PLACE OF WOMEN in the society. Don't get it twisted. You all don't know what you are fighting for. If you say the girl child needs not to be married at a very young age, that's Feminism. But you saying you there needs to be equal attribution of responsibilities for both the men and women, then you are merely looking for equality. Don't limit yourself.

The evidence of Feminism is everywhere. Women do almost everything now. It'll get better. Infact women are even more preferred now to men in certain roles.

You can promote feminism and still be submissive to your husband. Don't fight battles that you don't know anything about.

lovelygurl:
When did you ask huh And yes I dobt see that as a big deal. In fact I don't want any bride price because I am not a got to be bought

This does not make sense because feminism means equality

I want you to back that up with reasonable FACTS and reasons why you think so. I repeat reasonable

Positions which were given by who?

Oh I am aware that we are higher animals and that's why we shouldn't be compared to the lower ones. If you want to do so I expect you to run naked around and do other things expected from them
FamilyRe: Twitter User Slams Feminists, Teaches Them "How To Keep A Home" by dabraska: 4:26pm On Dec 30, 2016
You never answered my question. Would you propose to your man?

A man's ego is not to be tampered with. I'm not against feminism. I'm against equality. There's a difference. You women are not equal to men. It doesn't matter how many hours you work. The man knows his position and acts accordingly. Women should do the same. You women are the best species on the planet but you want to bring yourself to the level of a man. Because you want to be treated like a king. Is that your definition of equality. You have gifts that men don't have, yet the great men we know have been successfully manipulated by women.

Regarding the animal talk: Didn't you do biology in school? Or you want to question the fact that we are higher animals?

lovelygurl:
That's what you want 'enjoyment', right. For someone to be kissing your assistance. I keep repeating it men against feminism are either the insecured men or lazy men.
Women working as a loooot to sith being equal because that's the number 1 argument we get to hear "how can I be working and so this and that blablablabla"

You admitted nowadays things have changed. You are right not only have the "additions" increased. Things are really changing!

And pls stop comparing yourself to animals because we all know that the brains of humans and animals are different. It's almost like you are wishing to be 1. We are not on the same level.
FamilyRe: Twitter User Slams Feminists, Teaches Them "How To Keep A Home" by dabraska: 4:17pm On Dec 30, 2016
There wouldn't be poverty if there wasn't anything like comfort. Farmers and fishermen (those days) fed their families. Were they poor? I leave you to answer that.

There are people with 15 children who don't earn up to 10k as income and they still survive. People who live in Maroko and on the water. All these things that have become necessity are mere comfort. Survival basically is for feeding and shelter. Buying SMA Gold which is a necessity for some people is mere comfort. I never had that but I think I still turned out good (with some issues sha. lol)

Mynd44:
A man will sustain his family? Do you live in a bubble? I know men who earn 25k per Month. Now how can that take care of a family or even help them survive? If the woman can also get a job and earn 25k, thats 50k and survival is lookin plausible. This is not about luxury or comfort, this is about fighting poverty.

Women working has nothing to do with being equal but does that not mean they have earned their place at the table? A woman goes to work, her husband does too, why cant the husband wash his own clothes while she cleans the bathroom? Why can't thw husband bathe the kids while she fixes breakfast?

When you were younger and living with your parenrs and they fed you, you had to do all they asked but get a job, start pitching in, pay the rent, buy groceries and what does that nake you? A responsible adult that does not just deserve respect but can actually demand it
FamilyRe: Twitter User Slams Feminists, Teaches Them "How To Keep A Home" by dabraska: 4:09pm On Dec 30, 2016
Totally Agree!! Not by forming gra gra and dragging with men. Know your place and use it to your advantage!

jollymizzle:
seriously for any 'lucky' woman the term 'submission' is usually inert. And every woman should know the power she wields. My people say 'obirin L' o ni ete' meaning women are the cunning ones. I think the craving for submission by men arose from the fact that women have a way of making us do things we don't want to do. When we went to get my brother's wedding ring. We met an old couple . they came arm in arm and they must have been married for years. The woman bought jewelries worth millions and at the counter the man brought out his cheque book. Smiling he told his wife 'haa o Kan nowo MI,Iwo na loni' the wife simply smiled and gave him a peck.everybody burst into laughter. he was probably 'under the influence'. And his wife just made him spent millions without raising her voice or thickening it like a man. Submission usually means nothing in the long run, the issue is finding the right person to submit to.
FamilyRe: Twitter User Slams Feminists, Teaches Them "How To Keep A Home" by dabraska: 4:08pm On Dec 30, 2016
I'm amazed at how you try to justify these things. You are shielding them from who? Other men? Were their mates not getting married during that time too? If not, why didn't FELA marry the whole tribe of single ladies.

Okay you shielded them by marrying them. As what? Your wives? They automatically belong to you (your property) because they have been saved but also confined to you. There goes your feminism.

Mynd44:
Lmaoooo. No, Fela's action was not slavery. It was a way of protecting those women from men who were ready to humiliate them. It was a way of saying "touch them and I will come for you" it was his only way of having them keep what they wanted to do with dignity and also ensured that crazy men (and women) out there dont prey on them

As for a woman proposing, errr… it actually happens. Just cos you have not seen one does not mean it does not

FamilyRe: Twitter User Slams Feminists, Teaches Them "How To Keep A Home" by dabraska: 4:00pm On Dec 30, 2016
The women also worked those days abeg. But the men enjoyed being recognized as the head not an equal. That's nature.

Also let's think about it well, if it's just about survival, a man, no matter how lazy he is will sustain his family. Nowadays, there are too many additions. You want your kid to go to a private school, you want to buy a Mercedes Benz, you want A/C in all rooms etc. That's comfort! Making it a necessity for women to match up to the responsibilities. There are a lot more things that we need now that cost a lot more.

Women working doesn't have anything to do with being equal.

lovelygurl:
Mynd44 already said it all. Just wanted to add that during that time the marriages of course lasted longer because women had no where else to go. They had no choice than to be submissive but nooooow women are getting more independent. They can work and care for themselves. Marriage isn't a must for them to survive anymore. It's a choice both of them (man and woman) decide to make.

And it's not like back in the days the woman stays at home all day and the man works. Both of them now work!
FamilyRe: Twitter User Slams Feminists, Teaches Them "How To Keep A Home" by dabraska: 3:55pm On Dec 30, 2016
I'm actually enjoying this. You mentioned lions. I quite agree with you on that though. But a simple question. Who eats the food first brought from hunting by the females? The males! That's submission.
Where the lion lazies away, the woman does the work. You even buttressed my point.

No one denies the fact that the women do a lot nowadays (why we look to marry people like our moms). But the ladies want to 'bring home the food and eat first because they brought it'. You'd learn from the animals. Also, you mention just about 5 examples out of the whole animal kingdom.

Please who suffers more from a failed marriage? The men? You make me laugh.

Mynd44:
Male Lions are dominant right? When they lazy around for 20 hours a day while the females go get food. You can actually say the male lions are actually intimacy gadgets.

Have you seen a herd of sheep or goats? Who leads em?

Which sex dominates ants and bees?

Perhaps you need to see how Penguins (who have one partner all their lives like humans want to) share the job of raising the young ones.

So please dont go all Darwin on me. It is a dead end.

As for people and their sexuality? What is my business with what two consenting adults do behind closed doors?

We have a high amount of failed marriages because men like you refuse to change. In the past slavery was a thing, people evolved and dropped it. Some cultures kill twins, they dropped it, female circumcision too, it is being dropped why? Because in the world we live in, these beliefs are outdated.

Deal with it
FamilyRe: Twitter User Slams Feminists, Teaches Them "How To Keep A Home" by dabraska: 3:37pm On Dec 30, 2016
Now let's even take your example of Fela. He married 27 wives the same day to prove that women need a sense of acceptance right? Ask yourself where it leaves the ladies that were married. What if some of them didn't like him or the idea of getting married along with 26 other women? I'm sorry but in my opinion, this is another show of slavery. Just like buying a slave from one man for yourself.

Also let's look at it the other way, if all women want is to be equally treated like men. If there were 27 back up male dancers for a famous woman who were looked down on, would she propose to them all and marry them? Okay I'm going too far. Would a woman propose to one guy she likes to marry him? Nope! She'll rather Behind him up and ask him to propose to her. So where's the feminism there?

Mynd44:
Now let me help you with something funny about Fela. He married 27 women in one day. They were all his singers, dancers and the likes but do you know why he married them?

He did because society had tagged them as useless because they were dancers and worked with Fela. They had nowhere to go and no one would marry them or accept them but did he turn them back? No, he understood that they also had a right to be what they wanted to be and they have a right to decide their own choice of career and how they want to be so he married them to give then a sense of acceptance.

Now can we say in that regard, Fela showed a Feminist side?

Again, you don't know jack about feminism
FamilyRe: Twitter User Slams Feminists, Teaches Them "How To Keep A Home" by dabraska: 3:24pm On Dec 30, 2016
I think my previous posts shed more light on feminism. Let's assume you don't believe the bible, well, you'd more likely believe evolution. It's evident in animals. The males are clearly dominant while the female take care of the younger ones.

You don't believe in evolution, not a problem. If you say women are equal to men, then you should be an advocate for gays and lesbians getting married. If you are against that then there is a high sense of contradiction in your approach to feminism. Take a look at the large amount of failed marriages we have today compared to other generations. I'll tell you why it's so high. There is a massive clash of egos from the male and female side.

Mynd44:
