Visa Alert!!!

Submitted application- 2nd Aug 2021

Gave Biometrics - 9th Aug 2021 (Application transferred to DMC same day)

Received an email from UK visit visas that my application was just received on the 6th of September 2021 ( which was my proposed date of travel)- can you imagine?

TLScontact requested for my passport since i opted for "keep my passport" service - 14th Sept 2021 and that was duly submitted on the same day.

Passport collection email from TLS on 23rd Of September 2021, but i requested that it be couriered to my location.
Passport delivered with Visit Visa on 24th of Sept.

I have been to 8 countries and to the UK 2 times.
Submitted 4 months Bank statement showing my salary deposits and 4 months pay slips ( i recommend you submit 6 months though)
Employer's letter and appointment letter
Host's passport bio-data page and utility bill.

In my opinion, your financial situation is the most important factor in the decision making process.
Before you begin make sure to go around 1 year of information on the thread as all the questions you may have are already on here. Just take your time and you shall reap the rewards.
And most importantly trust in God to grant you favour.

I wish those still awaiting a decision on their applications success.

Yes, that is very true. You will be needing an airport transit visa anytime ypu choose to fly either of the airlines to the UK

Dcsn:
What is this that I am hearing about getting a Transit visa if travelling from Nigeria to the United Kingdom via KLM or AirFrance?
Do we now require a transit visa?

So sorry about ur refusal. I remember u were about to cancel ur application as a result of a mistake.

Sponsorships can be very tricky. You have to prove why the person in question wants to sponsor you as u re not related in any way. The person will also have to write a convincing letter why they are sponsoring u, perhaps as a gift to u. My advice is that u plan well, exploring various possibilites before applying again. Plus, address whatever issues were stated in the refusal letter as well.

[Qquote author=Juddy2018 post=105845523]Please can someone give me advice on how someone that is not related to me, can be my sponsor for a visit visa. Thank you.[/quote]

Your passport should be ready by friday. After a decision has been made, and depending on other factors, it should take around 2- 5 days before passports are ready for collection. I note that the VAC staff can be very sluggish at times. If it takes longer than this, then the problem is from them.

makylove101:
I and hubby also completed our biometrics on the 9th of August. Sent a paid mail last week Thursday after waiting for over 20 working days without hearing from them and got a response two days ago saying that a decision had been made. I subsequently got a call from them yesterday requesting that we submit our passports within 28 days ( We opted for “keep my passport”).

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to stamp your passport. I ask because I am traveling to a different country in less than 3 weeks.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by dadamann: 8:50am On Sep 15, 2021
It doesn't matter @unikbeing. What is more important is that you have the requisite financial capability to cater for urself during ur trip. Once you have ur visa, u may decide to travel at any other time within ur visa validity.

unikbeing:

@dadamann and the whole house, what will happen if decision has not been made on your application as the date for the intended trip has passed or still counting?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by dadamann: 8:43am On Sep 15, 2021
The overt truth is that nobody knows these days. Just allow ample time to process your application, typically 90 days to ur intended date of travel.

slimchuks:
Hello.

Please, how long does it currently take UKVI to process Visitor visa application from the Victoria Island Lagos office after biometrics through the priority service?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by dadamann: 8:39am On Sep 15, 2021
I'm so sorry about the refusal. As for me, I got a reply from the paid email to UKVI yesterday that a decision has been made on my application and that i will be contacted shortly. Fingers crossed!

funbox1100:

@Dadaman and @unikbeing... You both and my Sister had your biometrics on 09/08/2021, and after Dadaman advised that I send a paid mail, they replied within 24hrs that it was at VAC. Just yesterday, she received another 'email' this time, asking for her details, and they were forwarded to the address. A REFUSAL LETTER WAS RECEIVED TODAY however, with refusal reason stated as:

•        You intend to visit the UK for 19 days for tourism. You state that you are employed earning 336,800 NGN (£590.63 at exchange rate £1 = 570.23 NGN). You state that you spend 150,000 NGN (£263.04) on the cost of living each month which leaves you with a monthly disposable income of £327.59.  You state that you alone are funding your trip and that you have £1,300 in total for your trip.  This equates to 4 times your monthly disposable income.  From the documents and information provided, I am not satisfied that the proposed trip is proportionate to your finances and is therefore credible. I consider this rather a large outlay on a tourism trip when viewed in light of your salary, which leads me to doubt the credibility of your trip and therefore your intentions for your visit.

PLEASE I NEED ADVICE ON THE WAY FORWARD EVERYONE AND ANYONE WITH AN IDEA OF WHAT'S GOING ON...

NOTE: Money in her account at time of application was N1.8mill.

Also, monthly expenses does not total 150,000, basically. Just wrote it in the application like that cos last few months have seen her account depleting in that range for landed property she's building (all proofs were submitted).

No right of appeal.

Please gurus, any idea on how to get South Africa visa Asap, for my Exams next month. I know this trend is for UK visa. Thank you.

Yes i do. But that will take like 2 months to process your application. Please don't go that route as i have been there before especially if an exam is involved.

So factor in the standard 15 working days from that date to get a decision from UKVI. Yes, It's frustrating but it is what it is.

unikbeing:

I did biometrics on the 9th of August, I got a mail on the 8th of September that my application has arrived UK visa section and is under Process by UK visit visa. I got the above mail after a sent a paid mail to UKVI.

No response too on my own end. However, i sent another paid email to them on Friday. At this point, i'd just wait till whenever they have reached a decision. Life continues.....

Please advise
My spouse visiting visa expires Oct 21 can she renew by September 21.
Lastly I note that if anyone experienced lengthy delay on your visa decision there is 80% chances that it will be refused….from experience ooooo

The sooner he renews it the better for him as his personal circumstances from the last time he was issued visa are still intact. However, he still needs to send all the required documents.
It still swings both ways. The delays can acutally be for different reasons that is beyond both the applicant and the ECO. In this case, the overwhelming number of student visa applicants this period has delayed processing of tourist visas. It's everywhere. Even in india. You can so your own research.

You won't get a response by sending to thay email. Replies to it have been blocked. Use this instead https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-outside-uk

How long does it actually take to get response after biometric. What's the best time to apply and make an appointment for early November biometric appointment. Travelling first week of December?
Thanks a bunch for your anticipated responses.

The best time is Now! At least 90 days (3 months )prior to your intended date of travel is accepteable.

Good evening everyone in the house, I did my biometric on the 6th of August 2021, No information yet even my cousin that invited me is yet to be contacted...i want to please findout if it is normal or something must have gone wrong. and if there is any steps i need to take, the intended date to travel in the application is 1st of September 2021. I did self service anyway. Thank you as i await response from the Gurus.

I'm also in a similar situation. I suggest you send a mail to ukvi so that they can escalate your case and at least tell u what's going on. But be rest assured that it's a general trend attributed to the unprecedented high volume of student visa applicants this year.

Hello Gurus in the house. PLEASE I NEED HELP SOOO BAD!
My Sister made an application for Tourist visa (6months), and went for biometrics at the Ikeja office on 9th August 2021. Up till now 8th Sept, we haven't heard anything. The hotel booking that was done will need to be rescheduled, as she was supposed to travel on 10th September 2021.
My questions are.. Is this delay a general thing? Should we be worried? And how can we track aside using the TLS app (cos it just says received at the UK...)?
Thanks in anticipation

I'm also on the same boat as ur sister. I gave my biometrics on the same day. I only heard from DMC on the 6th of September (intended date of trip) that they had just received my application (like seriously after 19 working days) and that i will have to wait again within the service delivery timeframe (15 working days) for a decision. I was able to get their attention though by sending a paid email to them for a response that they would escalate my case to the relevant department. So, i suggest to send a paid email to them.
