Do we have stockbrokers here?

In 2012,

My mum get some shares which includes

SKYE BANK and DAAR COMMUNICATIONS

Now she’s trying to know the status of these stocks but she’s being told that SKYE BANK is no more and as such, there’s nothing for her.

And I’m wondering if that’s how it works really!

As for DAAR Communications they’re also saying there’s nothing on that.

I need your guidance please.

Thank You.

Coronabirus:
What's there confusing. Is it a sin to have a Kanuri man born and raised in Kano and chooses to accept Kano as his Indigene?
He's Kanuri of Kano Indigene, there is nothing confusing, I know what I wrote.
Well,
Just like you have your reservation about Abacha not representing North East in your so called leadership distribution,

The South West also has their reservations about Obasanjo who you call the Yoruba man.

So get your confused analysis paralysis off my post and let people engage properly and intellectually.

Coronabirus:
TRUE HISTORY OF POWER DISTRIBUTION AMONG ETHNO-RELIGIOUS GROUPS OF NIGERIA
Some people should rather use their brain to think than to allow others feed them with hatred & lies.
Some forces are using ethno-religious diversity of Nigeria to create dangerous accusations & conspiracies which are far from the truth. Those enemies of peace logically use the current predicaments of Nigerian to blame some tribes or religious group for the failure of Nigeria not knowing that all the groups collaborated in gang raping the nation. Those inciting Nigerians along ethno-religious line know very well that some gullible are so dumb enough to accept anything trash feed into their head.
Below is the data that calculated the years Nigerians are ruled under religious, ethnic and geographical location considerations. 60 years since independence, Nigeria was ruled by:
11years Obasanjo- Yoruba
9 years Yakubu Gowon-Angas
8 years IBB-Nupe
6 years GEJ-Ijawa
6yrs Nnamdi Azikwe-Igbo
5 years Abacha-Kanuri
7 years Buhari (+2yrs military regime)- Fulani
3 years Shagari-Fulani
2yrs Yaradua-Tuarek
6 months Agunyi-Ironsi-Igbo
2years Murtala, Shonekan & Abdussalam-Fulani, Yoruba & Hausa.
If calculated along religious line, it can be seen that Nigeria was ruled under Christians Presidents for atleast 32years while Muslims Presidents ruled for 28 years.
When calculated along geographical location, it can be seen that South ruled for almost 24yrs while North rule for almost 36yrs.
Yoruba ruled for approximately 12years, Fulani ruled for less than 11yrs, Angas ruled for 9yrs, Igbos ruled for 6yrs, Ijaw had 6yrs, Kanuri had 5yrs, Nupe had 8yrs, Tuarek had 2yrs while Hausa had 1year only.
North-Western presided Nigeria for about 17yrs, South-West presided for about 12yrs, North-Central enjoyed approximately 18yrs, South-South presided for 6yrs, South-East had 6yrs while North-East are still struggling to get to the apex position and still not agitating for it.
Going by the logical distribution of power along ethnic and religious line it can be seen that accusing only one particular tribe for Nigeria's failure is just a deliberate tactics by desperate power mongers and children of hate to put us into ethno-religious conflicts.

This mindset is what we’re talking about!

You guys are so carried away with this silly notion which is why you will never support a new constitution, restructuring and electoral reform.

There’s a political disequilibrium which your region has used the power of the military to create, it won’t last for long.

Arrewa:
then who are the middle belt?

Nasarawa state is more Arewa than Borno!!

Niger is more Arewa than yobe!!

Kwara is south west.

Kogi and Benue is the only people you can deceive with the word middle belt.

Arewa is just more than a region!

Arewa is a political Empire then is beyond tribe inclination!!

Trying to divide Arewa is childish!!

The only state that can buy your middle belt is Benue and maybe kogi to an extent.

Sokoto and Kano vote equals the East.

The power tussle is always between the north and the north.

If the north decide to adopt a single candidate no region can stop her even if all the southern should unite.

Buhari keep failing because the north is divded and most northern strong men were against him.

Northern Nigeria decides who rules!

We can decide to pick a candidate from the minority tribe and make him the president.

PoliticsNigeria’s First Coup and 54 Years After. by DadaStephen1(op): 3:47am On Nov 27, 2020
The Coup of January 15, 1966 was successful in the Northern and Western Regions and Lagos City, the capital.

But, failed only in NCNC-Controlled, Eastern Region & Midwestern Region.
The Coup was Political.

Now ...

The Counter Coup of July, 1966, staged by Northern Army Officers, was Not Political; but a Revenge Coup in Vengiance for killing of the Northern Premier and their Military Leaders.

That Coup was a Bloody Massacre.

The rule of the military government lasted in Nigeria for 33 years. Democracy was restored in 1999.

And for the those 33 years, the Northerners in the Army staged over
15 Coup Plots between 1966-1999 to have Arms-Twisting-Control of the Federal Government Establishments.

Only the Western Nigerians in the Army are yet to Stage one Military Coup Plot;
not a single Coup from the South Westerners since 1966:
simply because the Westerners are too Noisy Talking, Agitating, Demonstrating and Protesting while the Northerners were busy into Climbing the Ladders by Military Machinations, Political Threats, Religious Terrorism and Streets Banditry;

While The-West seem to believe in Rules of Laws and Principles of Democracy Processes for Regime Changes.
yet, They lost at Votes until MKO Abiola Won; and the Victory Annuled by Northerners/Army-Couplotters !

And that has since been the History of the Nigerian Military Sectional Coups for Regimes Change.

Class of 1966'

In January 1966, as a result of the coup, a group of young military officers became an elite class.
Even today, the group of these wealthy soldiers and officers have an enormous influence in Nigerian economy and politics.

Kaduna Nzeogwu, a military leader of the 1966 coup once said:

"We wanted to get rid of rotten and corrupt ministers… We wanted to gun down the bigwigs in our way."

Nothing has changed, still the same old song 54 years later and counting.

I received this news with mixed feelings.

On one side, I am happy that a Nigerian Tech Company has done so well to get to this point where it has to be admired and acquired by global tech giants.

It’s a motivation for some of us Nigerian Youths who work assiduously and legitimately to make ends meet, solve problems as well as make the nation proud.

It projects a good image of Nigeria and proper impression for young Nigerians. It shows that we’re not all Hushpuppies and Diezanis.

On the flip side I feel pained.

That was how we lost Jumia and other promising Prospects emanating from Nigeria to these smart westerners.

Why do they have to keep swallowing everything that survives the critical death stage, leaving us with absolutely nothing of our own to be proud of?

Why must Africa continue to consume innovations and inventions of the Wild West?

Why are the governments not buying into these projects and companies to strengthen them to a point where they become global brands from Africa, contributing to the growth and development of the country and continent ?

I’m just pondering about this with a very heavy heart.

Why must my dream be to build www.ceoshub.net to a point where an American Company pays me heavily for it and takes it over leaving my country or continent with nothing to point to as “their own”, something that is contributing to global development which is coming from Nigeria or Africa?

Well, I might be wrong in my thinking, but I think NIGERIA and Africa generally needs to watch it closely.

How many global brands can we point to and say “this is from Africa”?

Apart from Nairaland which has not only added value to Nigerians, but also generated lots of contents for the internet over the years, Nigerians do not really have digital platforms that attracts internet users from outside that much.
A Nairalander has launched the ceoshub dot net which is meant to compete with global brands to push NIGERIA into the satellite space.

The social network is designed for business people and for business purposes with lots of perks.

Nigerians are often blocked out or restricted on any online platform that offers opportunities and value due to the stigmatization of cybercrime and fraud related issues.
This social network has put measures in place to curb such issues without relegating any country.
Was launched October 1st for Nigerians and will be launched November 7th globally.

BusinessHow To Strengthen The Naira Again by DadaStephen1(op): 12:32am On Oct 10, 2020
IN 1980 NIGERIA EXCHANGED 80kobo to 1$
TODAY NIGERIA EXCHANGES ₦470 to 1$

BUT HERE ARE THE MAJOR REASONS AS CAPTURED BY AN ANONYMOUS WRITER.

We shouldn't be surprised.

We were far more productive in 1980 than we are today

In 1980 the key reasons for economic growth were are as follows:

1) We were a net exporter of refined petroleum products. Today we import all our refined petroleum products

2) We rode in locally assembled cars, buses and trucks. Peugeot cars in Kaduna and Volkswagen cars in Lagos.

Leyland in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu produced our buses and trucks.

Steyr at Bauchi producing our Agricultural tractors.

And it was not just Assembly, we were producing many of the components.

Vono products in Lagos producing the seats.

Exide in Ibadan producing the batteries, not just for Nigeria but for the entire West Africa.

Isoglass and TSG in Ibadan producing the windshields.

Ferodo in Ibadan producing the brake pads and discs

Tyres produced by Dunlop in Lagos and Mitchelin in Portharcourt.

And I mean tyres produced from rubber plantations located in Rivers State.

3) We were listening to Radio and watching television sets assembled in Ibadan by Sanyo.

4) We were using refrigerators, freezers and Airconditioners produced by Thermocool.

5) We were putting on clothes produced from the UNTL textile mills in Kaduna and Chellarams in Lagos.

Not from imported cotton but from cotton grown in Nigeria.

6) Our water was running through pipes produced by Kwalipipe in Kano.

7) Our toilets were fitted with WC produced at Kano and Abeokuta.

We were cooking with LPG gas stored inside gas cylinders produced at the NGC factory in Ibadan.

9) Our electricity was flowing through cables produced by the Nigerian wire and Cable, Ibadan and Kablemetal in Lagos and Portharcourt.

10) We had Bata and Lennards producing the shoes we were putting on
Not from imported leather but from locally tanned leather at Kaduna.

11) We were mainly flying our airways, the Nigeria Airways, to most places in the world.

The Airways was about the biggest in Africa at that time.

12) Most of the food we eat were being grown or produced in Nigeria.

We were producing all of the above and more in 1980

Today, we import almost everything.

There lies the source of the terrible exchange rate we are experiencing today and everybody reading this has a critical role to play in reversing this very UGLY trend.

It is not enough for us to complain about the exchange rate or point out what others are not doing or are failing to do, the key question is what are we producing or what are we planning to produce?

Going forward, it's time to ponder and think of the way forward progressivesly before it's TOO LATE.

Credit goes to the Unknown writer for this beautiful reminder.

We have been talking about these problems and more for ages... what solutions do we have in mind

openbusiness6:
Restructuring cannot work. Nigeria has practiced "true federalism" before which is = restructuring and there were still problems and political agitations and conflict. The only solution right now is self determination. Let those that want to take their destiny into their own hands and have their own country do so. We can still be collecting visa from ourselves. There's nothing bad in Nigeria breaking up, it is not a crime and it's not a death sentence. I don't know why people oppose that idea blindly. Before the British came and merged us together, were the various tribes not existing and living in their respective lands and territories by themselves? So why do people nowadays make it seem like if Nigeria breaks, it's like someone has dropped a nuclear bomb on our heads? For me, I think it's only the political elite and the 1% extremely wealthy class that control the economy, that want Nigeria to continue and I understand why they want it like that.
The emboldened part is exactly why the British conquered you in the first place.

Break yourself into fragments again and see what happens 50 years from today.

We need to resolve our issues anyhow and stay as one big Voltron against the wiles of the Wild West.

I pity una

Idris Abdulkareem is a Prophet.

He sang about Sexual Harrassment on Campuses by Lecturers decades ago which we call Sex for Marks today.
We didn't care,
We just danced like people with no thinking faculty.

He sang Nigeria Jaga Jaga
Long before we named Tinubu Jaga-ban
Long before Buhari came to play the exact script of the song.
We only sang along, our brains were too weak to process the lyrics and solve the problem.

The evils bedeviling us as a nation today didn't start today,
We just didn't observe on time
We just at didn't bother to ponder on a solution
We just didn't know it will degenerate to this

Or

We have always been part of the problem all along.

From the first to the last Military Coup, to the Buhari led 2015 Opposition

The songs has always been the same.

Dear Reader,
Be very pragmatic and sincere,

Nairaland GeneralHow I Think We Can Survive This Extended Lockdown by DadaStephen1(op): 12:24pm On Apr 14, 2020
1. We need to help the government in the aspect of Citizens Welfare.
Churches should distribute food items through House Fellowships, The Community Mosques should call for zakat and distribute food items too.

Estates, Streets, Communities should organise themselves, donate stipends, food items and distribute to the needy and hungry.

2. Our own security is obviously our responsibility as we can never rely on the Nigerian Police Force for our safety and this is a time our JTF should bring the Boko Haram insurgency to an end. So let's all cooperate to defend ourselves against hoodlums, armed robbers, etc on a community basis. Organised Community Vigilantes should be setup.
While some work in the day, some work at night.

3. Let's use this opportunity to bond with family and loved ones, relate with our neighbours and build some passion for Nigeria.

4. Spend your Data wisely by browsing what you can do to make extra money to feed even in this time.

5. The government should support e-Commerce and Food supply chain by allowing some registered delivery services to function.
Such that people can buy things from home and get it, people can share foodstuff, provisions and relieve items to others without challenges.

6. Start a mini farm within your vicinity.
Vegetables, Snail, Fish, maize, etc.

7. Save your airtime and data just in case of emergency.

8. You cannot survive outside God. Get spiritual, Build a connection with God.

Dst.

While the donations of multimillionaires is trending on social media, Gyang William and Nura Jibrin quietly walked into Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH and requested to fixed all their broken down ventilators at NO COST as part of their contribution to fight Covid-19.

The cost of one ventilator ranges between $30,000 to $50,000 (Between N12 million to N18 million) before you add logistics cost. That will make us appreciate their contribution.

Dr Daniel Meshak reported that they have so far fixed two that were considered scrap bringing the total number of ventilators in JUTH to 6. In many cases, persons infected by coronavirus require ventilator to survive and its a critical tool in the fight against this disease.

The contribution of this two golden hearts is one of the purest form of patriotism I have seen in recent times by any nigerian citizen. You can't imagine how many lives will be saved by this singular act.
