I use a Peugeot 307 and I experience this fuel gauge problem that no matter how much fuel I buy, the gauge stays on the empty tank.
It has embarrassed me twice when the fuel will finish completely.
When it first occurred, a Rewire fixed it as he said it was an electrical fault, which turned out that his solution was temporary.

Dat9jaguy rightly stated that our civil service is a major cabal and reason for our failure. The Government needs to restructure the civil service combining Mda's that can be combined and scrapping others that can be scrapped. Steve Oronsanya's report already has provided a framework to go about this. Older civil servants should be retired as Bode Augusto advised and the remaining workers should be retrained and tested on a regular basis.

Government cannot use 4 years on education and then another 4 years on security. These things must sort of go hand in hand. My list was based on priority of what I feel is the most sustainable way to develop Nigeria.

Good point. However, don't compare military and paramilitary training to education.
When we say security, their academies and colleges are inclusive. Infact even their sponsored trainings. You don't separate them.

If there was adequate security, chibok and dapchi girls won't be a topic of discussion today.
Leah Sharibu won't be in custody. The Dapchi school resumed recently with a very poor turnout as the parents had already said they won't return their children to that school without security.

We do not need a national carrier. National carrier are just pride symbols and white elephants that developing countries use to deceive themselves. Which progressive country has a state run national carrier?

Nigeria should provide drinking water, 24 hours light, good health care to everybody in Nigeria before providing an airline that less than 0.01% of people in Nigeria can ever afford to fly.

The richest, most peaceful and developed countries in the world do not have national carriers yet their people have 24 hours light and water and their airports are busier and cleaner than ours

If you travel often, you will realize the need for a national carrier.
They airlines use it to boost their country's economy. Wherever you're going in the world, national carriers will take you to their countries first, you will spend hours and you will have to spend your dollars in their country.
It doesn't necessarily have to be owned by the government 100% which is not advisable, but all the governments usually have stakes in it no matter how little.

Truly all these things need urgent attention but the most fundamental problem with Nigeria now is the civil service.
Our civil service is archaic and corrupt,that's why good ideas on how to fix Nigeria are not in short supply,but implementation
and execution are the problem.

Before a politician enters office we see he has lofty ideas but when he gets elected we see them behaving just like their predecessors,
why,because the people meant to ensure continuity(civil servants)are the problem.

Until we reorganize our civil service,we would just be moving but still be at the same place.

The real cabal are the civil servants.

And how do you intend to achieve that?

1. Education not just to develop higher skilled workers but to also increase the amount of disposable income the average Nigerian has. Free high quality basic education across the country will create jobs for out teeming youth and educate the up and coming generation. Education will also decrease our high birth rates and improve healthy practices.

Funding for this would be derived from progressive taxation on the rich and privatisation of non-functioning MDA'S.

2. Security. Insecurity in Nigeria is mainly borne out of the massive poverty faced by many. Without security nothing would work. A carrot and stick approach will be the most appropriate solution. The provision of free quality education and healthcare in poorer communities would create jobs for the locals and quality services for the people. The solution main solution is to increase our police force and to provide adequate equipment and training. civil defense, road safety, and other paramilitary agencies will be combined to form one police force. Each former agency will become a department under the police force. Policing will become decentralized as the number of federal police would be drastically reduced. Police would be recruited at the local government level and the state government level.

Funding for this will be derived from administrative savings from combining the agencies and taxes from Nigerians.


3. Power

Power is needed for industrialization. Power would provide value adding jobs for Nigerians taking many out of poverty. Without education, security and Nigerians being able to afford to make payments for electricity, any investment in power will be unsuccessful. Government must maintain currency stability as many fuels are priced in dollars and at the same time invest in cheaper fuels such as coal. Low pricing for power is extremely important as Nigerians must be able to pay for it. Please note that Free Education and Healthcare would increase Nigerians disposable incomes.

Funding for investments. Oil revenues and savings from privatisation of non-functioning MDA'S and efficiency in managing our oil wealth through the effective use of information systems such as the TSA IPPIS, and Aquila.

4. Science and technology
Investment in research is important as it moves the production possibility curve of the whole country. This implies that more jobs would be created and more people will be gotten out of poverty.

4. Tourism (Tied with science and technology)
Black people tend to be more artistic the people of other races. Be it in sports, acting, music, fashion and design, and poetry and writing, black people are at the forefront in these fields. Investment would create more jobs for our teeming youth.
