This view was in line with the prevailing slave laws in the colony of Virginia at the time, which treated slaves as property, rather than as people with rights or freedom.


Anthony Johnson, the early African-American colonist and slave owner, has been described as having a dark complexion and African ancestry. Records and descriptions from his lifetime in the 17th century describe him as having "dark skin," likely referring to a dark brown or black complexion. It's important to note that descriptions of race and skin color have varied over time and in different contexts, and racial identities and categories have changed in complexity and significance over the centuries.

He refused to allow another black slave freedom after his indentured status was over.

Because I am a Hebrew I read the Bible differently from the way pastors and scholars teach it. Ham's descendants because cursed by Noah to be servants of servants only means that Hamites shall enslave each other. That's exactly what went on in Africa long before the white even set foot there. And the Whiteman only colonized Africa because you were too busy trying to dominate or enslave each other. Oh did I mention that homosexuality is a form of domination?
