RuuDie: I am with Elampiro on this one...You should be used to stuffs like these already. When it's time to buttress the fact that LVG is strict and principled, we are reminded about how he held the bayern board to ransom and stuffs. When it's time to sway the argument, we are told that he had to "accept certain signings" because he just resumed even when the man made it clear he approved those deals. ![]() |
StarBoard: Boss, why na?LVG wasn't under any obligation to make statements on wether he approved the deals involving shaw and Herrera, yet he decided to do so in a very concise manner, to the extent that he even mentioned their names. It's a very simple matter. |
StarBoard: And what would you expect?Nobody put a gun to his head before he made those specific statements. There are so many other things he could have said about shaw and Herrera in that press conference. StarBoard: As per clear statement, didn't he say he wanted to assess his players? Why would he assess a new signing he made himself? The way it stands, LVG approved those deals, and he confirmed it by specifically mentioning the names of the players involved. |
StarBoard: Take the whole statement, na. Why 5 words? That's the ish... There shouldn't even be an argument when the manager himself has clarified his position. Assuming he didn't say anything, it would have been a different issue entirely but for God's sake, the man made a very clear statement on the matter |
elampiro: * Two had already come in. = Two of them had already be signed before Gaal took over.Juan mata and marouane fellaini, if they have forgotten! |
StarBoard: van Gaal approved it,Shikena.... No need to dwell on the issue!! |
elampiro: You always speak my mind on this issue. Gaal said in a press conference.......Dunno why there should be second-guessing on an issue which the manager has made his position very clear. |
StarBoard: Luke Shaw was being lined up before van Gaal's arrival.I really don't see any need for all these conspiracy theories and assumptions, since our manager himself confirmed his approval of those signings, when he could as well have distanced himself from those deals by keeping mum. |
StarBoard: Van Gaal won't sign a 19 year old for 30 million. How isn't it his making when he clearly confirmed that he was the one who approved those signings? Does LVG even cut across as someone who'd be cowed into taking decisions? Our manager has spoken. Under such circumstances, it's his word over any other person's. |
StarBoard: Who else will sanction paying 30 million for an unproven minor aside Moyes and his buddy Wooden head?In his first United press conference on Thursday afternoon, Van Gaal said: 'Shaw and Herrera were already on the list. I gave my approval because I like them. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2696066/Louis-van-Gaal-says-gave-approval-Manchester-United-sign-Luke-Shaw-Ander-Herrera.html Van gaal should take responsibility for this one Abeg.. |
StarBoard: All these boys wey bin dey watch Enyimba mid 2000s sha. . .Your head is dia sir... Enyimba was envy of all other clubs in nigeria. Compared to other clubs, Incentives like brand new cars and plots of lands, attractive allowances etc made them stand out. OUK was really crazy about the club. I remember he wanted to purchase one draman traore from Ismaili(one of the teams that made North Africa dominate African club football), for 2M (I think 500k was the highest amount paid for any player in nigeria as at that time). |
afrodoc: wa gbayi baba mi.Muri ogunbiyi (the guy from Benin republic), na im dey always form paul scholes for midfield that time. Then the one-eyed ogbonaya okemiri, Maldini-esque romanus orjinta, etc! ![]() Gov orji uzor kalu sef dey follow coaches Sidon for bench that time... |
afrodoc: i am sure joetex frimpong too would have been saying if it was figo and zidane feeding him passes instead of ndidi anumunu and david tyakase he would have won WPOTY 2002 instead of ronaldo da lima ![]() Baba, so you also followed the "people's elephant" back in those days? Chop knuckle! ![]() |
afrodoc: Coogar thinks he is as good as those guys going forward, when the most consistent knock against Cleverley is that he does not go forward enough"I watch Spanish football a lot. If they pass the ball sideways but keep possession, the fans clap them," he told the Daily Mirror. https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/premier-league-cleverley-people-don-39-t-appreciate-084436829--sow.html When the player himself confirmed his cluelessness and "sidewayness" just a few months ago? Some kind arguments dey baseless, trust me. |
afrodoc: Young is playing well no doubt, long may it continue.A big amen to that. Seems as if his new role fits him well. However, if he reverts back to those 1diotic in-swinging crosses, the likes of crystal palace and black pool are waiting in the wings... afrodoc: But Fellaini and especially Anderson should be sold.......why won't he cop a calf injury when the tiny legs are carrying his big tummy? How that tele-tubby still remains a man utd player...should be the 8th wonder of the world.i'm beginning to think there's more to it. afrodoc: I never advocated Cleverley being sold, i have always believed he should be kept as a SQUAD player. However i am not one of those that have compared him to Kroos,Gotze,Thiago etc He isn't good enough to clean the boots of the aforementioned players. |
StarBoard: Thankfully we are not anywhere near Europe. ![]() Getting destroyed by an attack worth 270m, can't be said to be disgraceful jare. ![]() |
StarBoard: The question is who fits the description needed that would be sold to us at that rate?At Madrid, Sami khedira's future seems to be on the bench .Why can't see get him for God's sake? I don't see us getting turned down by the club or even the player. StarBoard: If it were in my power there's no need going for such on the basis of the emboldened. To further complicate issues... '‘I cannot talk about Cuadrado, because if I say something about him the price will rise.’' metro.co.uk/2014/08/06/louis-van-gaal-fuels-speculation-that-juan-cuadrado-is-a-manchester-united-target-4823421 |
StarBoard: Mehn. their forward play is something else. The fact that it's dynamic and fluid even makes it more dangerous. Yesterday, I saw Ronaldo, James and otu Benzema swapping positions on numerous occasions to great effect. |
StarBoard: The thing is we are going to be linked with Vidal till the end of the window, whether we actually are or not. In this case Juve are on tour and till he returns to base, we won't stop hearing these stories. With roughly 18days to the close of the transfer window, the purchase of a 20-25m midfielder should be just about enough to quench the Vidal rumors. StarBoard: but do you see things improving on the transfer front in general? things are just the same (i.e. speculation level). There's even renewed news that woodhead met with Di Maria's people last night in Cardiff. The present situation of things isn't too encouraging but you never know.. We might be in for a surprise(a pleasant one) towards the tail end of the window. Our supposed interest in players like cuadrado and di maria remain a mystery, considering the fact that both are expensive players who don't seem to be useful in a 3-4-1-2 formation (which is gonna be our default formation from all indications). |
With the appointment of fletcher as vice captain, it seems the scot is gonna play a key role LVG's plans (at least for this season). Taking this into perspective, I won't feel bad with the acquisition of a decent 20-25m rated midfielder, ending the Vidal rumors once and for all! |
codedguy1: Imagine the quality of midfielders Khedeira, Kroos, Alonso, Modric. Any 2 in the pivot role for Madrid is cool.Fellaini didn't do anything spectacular jare |
afrodoc: na attachmentE fit be say e cut am, come wear am back ![]() |
Did I just see cleverley play a long diagonal pass?? |
Rooney is a f00l |
Shebi they say fellaini don cut hin hair? ![]() |
SailorXY: he's better than averageI tire oo.. So far, The dude has been pretty decent. |
Mata should get himself in the game Abeg. He is expected to be our creative outlet for God's sake ![]() |
SailorXY: "Or, I should say, we don't have wingers of the......a polite way of LVG saying ; "currently, all our wingers (maybe with the exception of januzaj) are Watford standard"....if you ask me! ![]() |
afrodoc: We dont need cuadrado. He is a good player but we already have 3 right wingbacks.I tire for the constant cuadrado talk oo. From what I have been reading, It isn't as if he can really do a job at WB (coupled with the fact that we seem adequately covered in that department anyways). |
afrodoc: Thank you very much. Every year the dominant Italian teams in the local league get maltreated in Europe and the smller teams also get misused. Dayo hates English league and everything English so much......watch him try to argue that the Serie A is better than the EPL.The fact that Vidal has created a buzz by bossing things in a yeye league, is a fact that can't be thrown outta the window just like that!! PS... I'd still love to have him at oldtrafford tho... ![]() |
raumdeuter: Arsenal went unbeaten in the EPL and still failed in Europe; does that show the yeyerity of the EPLAn English club (Chelsea) made it to the semi finals of the ucl that year. When last have we seen an Italian team in the semis ? How have Italian teams fared in the UCL in the last 4years? raumdeuter: Madrid(2000) and Liverpool(2005) finished 5th in their leagues yet won the CL, Add AC Milan to it; Does that show the yeyerity of the CLHow is this relevant to the topic at hand? |
