The lady who abandoned her new baby after giving birth at the newly commissioned ultra modern market in Sapele area in Delta state, has been reunited with her. 

The baby was rescued after vigilante men at the market - heard the baby’s cries and traced her close to a female toilet in the market after following trails of blood.

The security men notified their boss, Mr Tony Akpeki who arrived the scene and notified the authorities as they rushed the baby to the general hospital in Sapele by 12 midnight (on Saturday).

It was also revealed that the lady who delivered the baby later collapsed in another hospital due to the forceful removal of the placenta.

The mother is said to have undergone medical treatment as the family revealed she did that out of depression and that is not the first time it's happened.

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick has revealed why he invited business moguls Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola to the FIFA Best Awards ceremony in London on Monday night.

Dangote, who holds Nigeria’s second highest national honour (GCON) is the President of Dangote Group and is ranked as the richest person of African descent in the world.

The Dangote Group has interests in various commodities in Nigeria and other African countries. Alongside oil baron Otedola, Dangote was conspicuous at the Awards, and both met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the crème de la crème of world football in the British capital.

“Alhaji Dangote is perhaps the biggest business brand in Africa, and one of Nigeria’s leading Ambassadors. I am very happy to be in a position to invite himself and Mr. Otedola to such an event of global stature and essence.

“As a nation, it is important that we continue to showcase our best brands in all fields. Doing this enhances the stock of our country globally. Alhaji Dangote and Mr. Otedola were happy to meet the world’s top governors of football and the football governors were also happy to meet them.

“Our objective as a Football Federation is to attain financial autonomy so that the Government can channel resources otherwise taken up by football into other critical sectors, and we believe that if we have persons like Dangote and Otedola partnering with Nigerian Football, we will get there faster,” said Pinnick, who is also the 1st Vice President of the Confederation of African Football.

A notable football, Dangote is reportedly worth over $15 billion.

A Nigerian man is said to have lost his life after allegedly jumping from a building in Malaysia while trying to evade the authorities. It was gathered that the deceased who reportedly hails from Awkuzu in Anambra State - jumped from a second floor due to lack of papers.

He was rushed to the hospital where he passed away days after, according to reports.

This is coming after a similar incident happened in the Asian country as a Nigerian man was covered up in blood having jumped off a building.

He reportedly did this to avoid getting arrested by the police. This happens in Suria where he dived into a parked vehicle.

He rested helplessly on a rail with a deep cut obvious on his forehead.

No matter how hard/difficult the situation is, Nigerians must always find humour in it. A Nigerian man decided to make fun after his house was overtaken by flood as "he can't kill him". The young man shared pictures which appear to show him bathing and also swimming in the massive flood. 

Meanwhile, the National Emergency Management Agency on Monday said that about 441,251 people have been affected by flood in about 50 Local Government Areas.

The agency said this in a situation report on the flooding which it said had left 141,369 people internally displaced.

It said about 192 people have sustained injuries as a result of the flood with a total of 108 lives lost to the disaster.

President Muhammadu Buhari, today, arrived New York for the 73rd Session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA73) which officially opened September 18, 2018.

According to report by a New York based journalist, Simon Ateba, ambassador Yahaya Lawal, a senior special assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations, was prevented from entering the venue of the United Nations General Assembly after the minister of foreign affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama was allowed in.

The high point of President Buhari’s participation at the UN general assembly will be his address on Tuesday to the General Assembly on the opening day of the General Debate.

The President’s presentation of Nigeria’s National Statement is expected to reaffirm the nation’s commitment to international peace and security; sustainable socio-economic development; disarmament and denuclearisation; youth and women empowerment; climate change; rule of law and human rights; among others.

A body found in Leicester last week has been identified as missing man Ezra Wale. Officers were called at around 4.15pm on Thursday (20 September) to a report of a body found in the water in the Abbey Park Road area of Leicester in the United Kingdom. 

The body has been formally identified as 22-year-old Ezra Wale. Ezra had been reported missing after last being seen in the Church Gate area of Leicester on Saturday evening (15 September).

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for HM Coroner.

The man and woman are believed to have spent some time with Ezra after he had spent an evening with friends in Leicester city centre on Saturday night.

A Nigerian monarch, King Nwachukwu Nashid Koleoso Karade Eri, has been confirmed a ruler by his community in Lexington, Kentucky in America. He was confirmed a king after undergoing spiritual rites and cleansing.

According to reports, King Nwachukwu, who is a DNA tested African America Igbo and a retired university administrator, has been paying regular homage to Iduu Eri Kingdom in Anambra state yearly and has been involved in several prayers and cleansing during his stay in Igboland.

The historical coronation ceremony was presided by His Majesty, Eze Eri 34th, Eze Aka Ji Ovo Igbo and supported by members of his royal entourage.

The US House of Representatives of the commonwealth of Kentucky as well the Mayor of Lexington, all sent their encomium.

This is really touching. A Nigerian cleric moved a woman and other church members to tears after doing an unusual thing during service. The cleric identified as Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe of CCC Genesis Global (Isheri Outreach), instructed a female church member to go away with all the offerings paid to the church by members during a Sunday service.

The prophet said he was led by God to make the members of the church happy and the chosen woman was living in lack and sadness.

The woman who was moved by this gesture, broke down in tears as other church members also joined in crying. 

The rest of the church clapped and jubilated as the woman packed an undisclosed amount of money in a bag in while crying.

The emotional woman cried more as other church members even came out to give her more money while she was still packing the cash the pastor gave her. 

The pastor said he doesn't want to have cars and many things because he wants to be blessed to bless others.

Following the governorship election which held yesterday in Osun state, supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have gathered at the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osogbo, to celebrate their they termed as “victory” ahead of the official announcement by the electoral body. 

Chanting songs of victory, such as ‘ose ose o, ose o, ose baba’ (meaning ‘thank you, thank you, thank you, father’), the supporters danced from side to side lined up on the streets while security officials watched from afar, in a trending video posted online. Watch below.

According to results of the 19 local governments announced so far by INEC, Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), boasts a slight lead over Isiaka Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Players of the Abia Warriors football club of Umuahia, Abia state, have arrived Lagos for their Aiteo Cup round of 16 games against fellow Nigerian Professional Football League NPFL sides, Kano Pillars, Kwara United and Rivers Utd scheduled for the Soccer Temple, the Agege Stadium next week.

According to multiple media reports, the football players encountered an armed robbery attack today at about 2:45 pm, while they were travelling to Lagos for their Aiteo Cup round of 16 games.

The team reportedly ran into a group of armed robbers operating along the Lagos-Ibadan express way but they narrowly escaped .

It was also reported that some players out of fear during the robbery - attempted to jump down from the vehicle as they sustained injuries and were treated by the medics.

The players have now arrived Lagos state ahead of the football competition.

Here are pictures of the sex workers who are set to be deported from Ghana after being apprehended in the course of engaging in the illicit trade.

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) is set to deport 73 Nigerian and Togolese women over their involvement in various illegal acts in the country. The deportees were arrested on Thursday down following a swoop by Enforcement Unit of the GIS at the Redco Flats neighbourhood at Madina.

They were 72 Nigerians, one Togolese as well as nine other Ghanaians. Some of the deportees were nabbed for prostituting whiles other also did not have the requisite resident permits.

Speaking at a press briefing, the 2IC at the Public Affairs of the GIS, Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI), Linda Asare Mantey, said the foreign nationals will be deported whiles the Ghanaians have been handed to the Police to be prosecuted.

She said 20 of the suspects were arrested at the Junior Hotel at Madina, which is known to be an area where prostitution is very rampant.

“It is illegal to come to the country and engage in prostitution,” Supt. Linda Asare Mantey remarked.

She cautioned that the Ghana Immigration Service will soon turn attention to owners and managers of hotel facilities who hire their facilities out to irregular migrants and locals to use for prostitution.

A female soldier has earned the praises of Nigerians following viral picture of her praying at the battlefield. According to an online report, the gallant soldier who is currently fighting against the Boko Haram sect in the northern part of the country, was captured praying in a bush - with her rifle by her side. 

This rare photo of a female soldier praying has got Nigerians talking and wishing protection of the troops at the front line. 

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, says in spite of pocket of attacks by remnant of Boko Haram terrorists in Borno North, the army is tightening the noose against them.

Buratai, therefore, urged Nigerians and people of the region in particularly not to panic as those attacks do not signal resurgence of insurgency as being insinuated in some quarters.

He spoke in an interaction session with journalists at Mongunu after he personally monitored and coordinated onslaught against the insurgents locked in between troops’ locations in the area.

Early today, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations - DCI Detectives arrested two Nigerians and one Tanzanian for engaging in electronic fraud in Kenya where local banks lost huge amounts of cash. According to reports, most of the money defrauded from the local banks was withdrawn outside the country.

The following items were confiscated from the suspects:ATM cards, Laptops,Cheque books among other exhibits.

The suspects are currently in lawful custody and will be arraigned in court on Monday.

The operation to weed out more Electronic Fraudsters continues.

Nigerian business mogul, Arthur Eze, recently hosted popular comedian, Obinna Simon, popularly known as MC Tagwaye, who is known for mimicking president Muhammadu Buhari. 

The comedian who has been labelled Buhari’s doppelganger due to how he exactly copies the president both in dressing and speech, was hosted along with his friends at the billionaire's exquisite mansion in Enugu state on Wednesday, September 19th.

The comedian said though he is an Igbo man from Anambra State, he learnt how to mimic the president because he was born and raised in Katsina and he has always admired Mr. Buhari.

MC Tagwaye shot to stardom after he styled his craft in such a way that he dresses, speaks and acts like the President coupled with the fact that he has a striking resemblance with him (Buhari).

A Nigerian soldier identified as Adegor Okpako reportedly killed his partner, Saka, before he went on to commit suicide. The sadi incident occurred during a training exercise at an army base in Borno State.

It was gathered that Adegor Okpako, a staff sergeant attached to 192 Battalion in Gwoza, killed himself at about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Three soldiers and a member of the civilian joint task force were also seriously wounded in the random shooting by Mr Okpako, sources said.

According to reports, Mr Okpako killed himself two days after returning to the battalion after taking a few days’ break. 

The plight of Nigerian soldiers engaging Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria’s war-ravaged northeast appears to have worsened in recent months. Over 100 soldiers have been killed and as many feared missing since mid-July alone.

Efforts are being made to locate the family of a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who was found in an unconscious state two days ago in Lagos.

According to reports, the Youth Corper identified as Babatunde Sodiq Bello, said to be graduate of University of Benin, Edo state and passed out from the Adamawa orientation camp, was found on laying on the ground after urinating on himself in the 'unconscious state'. 

Passersby who saw him - got his identity from the ID card found in his waist purse,. 

It was revealed that the corper was rushed to the general hospital in Gbagada by Lagos Neighborhood cops.

While some think that the corper was seriously sick that's why he collapsed, others have argued that he might have taken hard drugs before the collapse.

No further report has been given about his condition.
