An older man identified as Chief William Ibori, the former Unugbrogo of Oghara kingdom got married to his younger bride traditionally yesterday in Ogharefe, Ethiope west local government area of Delta state. The new husband who is the elder brother of former governor of Delta state - underwent the traditional process to claim his new wife in the presence of family and friends.

Meanwhile, in 2010, HRM Oreki II, the Ovie of Oghara Kingdom, derobed the former Unugbrogodo of Oghara Kingdom, William Ibori, elder brother of Chief James Ibori, former Governor of Delta State, as an Okakuro (Chief) of Oghara Kingdom.

According to reports, he was derobed as result of 'gross acts of disloyalty and disrespect' to monarch and the traditional institution.

He was said to have unlawfully installed 48 persons as chiefs in Ogharefe. On two occasions, he was summoned by the traditional rulers of the 23 Kingdoms in Urhoboland to defend himself , but allegedly chose to snub the royal fathers.

A Human Rights activist, Kola Edokpayi has secured the release of one Abubakar, a Machine Operator who was wrongly arrested by officers of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on the 28th day of February, 2018 at his camp at about 2am where they legitimately engage in bush sawing of timber.

He was released yesterday night 16th day of March, 2018,

The NDLEA officers were in search of the owner of a large Indian hemp farm at Emuhun Community in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo state - on the fateful day where he was arrested at his camp close to the Indian hemp farm while he was fast asleep.

The owner of camp where the young man was arrested had been going to NDLEA office but nobody listened to him until he cried to human right activist for help in securing the release of his worker.

Former Catholic priest, Reverend Patrick Henry Edet got married to former Miss Inyene Sampson on Saturday. The traditional wedding took place two days earlier. According to reports, the wedding reception which took place at Ibom Hall, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state had a large turnout.

The former priest and his new wife, Inyene Sampson Akpan who hails from Atai Ibiaku Itam in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and a graduate of University of Uyo – were all smiles at their wedding as guests gathered in their numbers to witness the event . .

It could be recalled that Patrick Edet had announced his resignation from priesthood on August 2nd last year during his radio programme, Grace and Inspiration on Planet FM.

The popular saying 'everyday for the thief, one day for the owner of the house' was confirmed in the lives of two robbers recently. The two ''unlucky'' thieves were humiliated in public after they were nabbed stealing a goat.

According to reports, the thieves had already stolen the goat and were in the process of roasting it to prepare meat before the rightful owner caught them in the act after a tip-off.

The robbers were forced to carry the unfinished roasted goat on their heads as they were paraded in public for all to see.

'Man must eat', these are the words of a gallant solider who was seen preparing an unusual type of meal in the jungle. The soldiers who are fighting against the Boko Haram terrorists - were pictured cooking a meal made of caterpillar while at the battlefield.

According to one of the soldiers, the life in the jungle is not easy but that is what makes them who they are, 'a full man'.

The soldiers later went on to eat the highly nutritious and proteins meal....

The speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Onofiok Luke, has hailed his wife following her statement while delivering a keynote address at the 2018 International Women's Day Celebration on March 8th at the Centre for Gender Studies, University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom.

Dr. Mrs. Uduak Daisy Luke, the speaker's wife and Akwa Ibom President of LEWA, said;

"I was told a story when I was a child. I asked why women usually tie two wrappers and was told that in those warring times, women had two wrappers on so that if their husbands should return battered and torn, they could use one to cover him from the shame. I want to say appeal to our women today, can we practise this same love and regard amongst ourselves? While covering our husbands, can we also cover our fellow women when they fall? Before criticizing them, can we cover them first from the world, and then correct them to the right path?"

The speaker shared the trending post on his Facebook timeline while commending his beautiful wife. He wrote; What a lesson, proud of your wisdom, my girl.

A first class Yoruba traditional ruler in Osun State, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, caused a huge scene yesterday as he stormed his community, Iwoto distribute money to villagers. The aged people and others came out in their numbers to receive their own share of the 'blessing'.

Oba Akanbi relocated the palace popular idol to another shrine in the town and resettled it there.

The victims who were killed in fresh herdsmen attack - have been buried. They were laid to rest in a mass grave yesterday in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau state.

The death toll from the attacks on communities in Plateau State has risen to 16, the Police have said, but residents claimed 25 people have been killed. Residents blamed herdsmen for the attack on communities in Bokkos Local Government Area, including on the days President Muhammadu Buhari visited the state.

The Police spokesman said 16 people had been confirmed killed in the multiple attacks on several villages between Wednesday, March 7, and Friday, March 9.

He said the Command had deployed more personnel to restore peace to the troubled areas, and advised the people to remain calm and avoid taking laws into their hands.

Meanwhile, community leaders, who briefed journalists in Jos Sunday, said 25 people were killed in the attacks, while many others were still missing. The community leaders blamed the attacks on herdsmen and listed villages attacked to include Nghakudung, Shilim, Morok, Mandung, Faram, Filla and Hotom.

A suspected kidnapper received jungle justice from an angry mob after he was apprehended following a foiled operation. The middle-aged man who is said to be married was caught by residents in Zamfara state while trying to allegedly kidnap a young victim.

He was stripped unclad and beaten to pulp by the mob as he was left bloodied before the arrival of security agents.

A man said to be demented went on rampage earlier today as he attacked and killed two students during break in Ogun State. According to reports, the two students of the St John primary school, Agodo, Ogun State, were allegedly butchered by the mentally unstable fellow, who reportedly fled the scene after the incident before the arrival of the police.

The suspected killer identified as Lekan Olori Ilu, stormed the school during lunch break and hacked Obituyi Alabi and Kalesanwo Ibrahim to death..
