The Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Uyo His grace, Bishop John Ayah has finally reacted to the resignation of charismatic radio evangelist and founder of the Grace Family, Rev. Fr. Patrick Henry Edet from the clergy of the Catholic Church. Bishop Ayah announced the withdrawal of all privileges and dissociates the Catholic Church from the activities of Rev Fr. Edet as he forbade all Catholics from associating with him. Rev Dr John Ayah, in the release which was read at St Patrick Catholic College, Afaha Inang ,Uyo and other parishes, implies that, any Catholic who attends his programs does so at his/her own risk while awaiting official reaction from the Pope Francis. The Catholic Bishop of Uyo Diocese, Rev Dr John Ayah's message is dated 12 August, 2017. A catechist of the Church said, all the comments on social media about the matter are misplaced and misleading as they don't know the gravity of the matter. You don't just quit the Priesthood of Catholic church like that. His words, "Let those who make useless comments on social media continue, the Catholic church is a church guided by discipline and no form of rebellion of any kind shall be entertained. Even when Barr Enoidem resigned his appointment as a commissioner to contest election as legal adviser of PDP, he later returned to the cabinet because of course his resignation letter was rejected by his boss, Governor Udom Emmanuel and he returned to the cabinet until others were dissolved. So until the Pope accepts his resignation letter, he remains Rev. Fr. Patrick Edet. That is the cross he is bound to carry ,after all, he took an oath to serve the church perpetual", the catechist said. https://www.nationalhelm.co/2017/08/waiting-pope-catholic-bishop-reacts-patrick-edets-resignation.html Credit; Osondu Ahirika

This is what she shared on her social media page; The rate at which robbery incidences are happening in imo is really alarming. On my way to 6'oclock mass on sunday in Owerri, Imo state, I didn't know that the keke i entered where occupied by cultists cum criminals. They asked me to bring my phone, when I resisted, they used a sharp bottle to dig deep into my hand making it impossible for me to hold back the phone and then they pushed me down from a moving tricycle which made me fall and roll in a tarred road but I thank God I wasn't hit by any car. Something really needs to be done about the state of things in this state. This is the third time I'm loosing my phone to armed robbers. The operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command yesterday recovered an AK-47 assault rifle from three young men in Apapa Area of Lagos State just as it arrested a 23-year old bag snatcher on Friday in Alagbado during a botch operation. The operatives, who were on routine patrol of Apapa sighted three young men carrying a bag at around 11:00 p.m on Friday. The officers accosted the men but the suspects on sighting officers dropped the bag and fled the scene. A check on the content of the bag revealed an AK-47. No ammunition was found in the bag. Meanwhile, the suspected okada robber, Ayobami Adedeji, was chased by the operatives on routine patrol of Kola Bus Stop, in Alagbado Area of Lagos, after snatching a hand bag around 10:00 p.m. Adedeji, in company of an accomplice, who he referred to as Aboki, had on Monday night, operating with a motorcycle, snatched the hand bag of one Kudirat Oyebade at Kola Bus Stop. The operatives who were close to the scene of the incident chased the motorcycle into the inner streets. One of the suspects was however arrested while the rider escaped abandoning his motor cycle. Adedeji, who snatched the bag stated “I was a bus conductor. I went to Kotangoa market on Monday to meet Aboki about how to raise money for ourselves…. We have been together for a long time. At around 2:00 p.m. on Monday, we perfected the plan to operate together on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, but our focus were Adura and Council bus stops around Agbado areas of Lagos State. Our priorities were handbags and purses.” “We had snatched two bags and my colleague was keeping the money before our last botched operation. This was our first time…. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t know RRS operatives were monitoring us. I snatched the bag and they chased us into the streets. My colleague escaped after abandoning his okada and I was arrested,” he continued. He added, “I dropped out in SS1 after losing my mother. My father was just a ceremonial father. He never cared about me since the death of my mother. He never assisted me but I had to fend for myself after the death of my mother.” The rifle has been deposited at the RRS Headquarters for further investigation while Adedeji has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti for further investigations.
