A thief was apprehended while stealing armored cable wires at Umuguma Owerri neighborhood, Imo State capital. He was caught by residents of the neighborhood, as he was stripped unclad, beaten and was about to be set ablaze before police officers come to rescue him.

He was nabbed at Umuguma back of three decking at Abba father and in the process of being lynched, the police came to his rescue. According to some people, he has been terrorizing the neighborhood, breaking into people's shops before his capture.

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans can show their support for Carl Ikeme and raise money for Cure Leukaemia by taking part in a 24-hour-penalty shootout at Molineux stadium, England. The challenge, which is being put together by lifelong fan and ‘They Wore The Shirt’ author Steve Plant, will look to raise more than £10,000 for Cure Leukaemia after Wolves No1 Carl Ikeme was diagnosed with the condition last month.

The event will be opened by goalscoring legend Steve Bull at 10am on Friday August 4th and will run until 10am the following day when Middlesbrough visit to kick-start the 2017/18 season.

Supporters can donate £5 to take three spot kicks, with a number of special guests set to take part over the 24 hours and ‘on-the-spot’ prizes for the best finishes, trick shots and saves.

So far 100 supporters have signed up to take part in the penalty competition, which will take place in Wolfie’s Den at Molineux.

A Nigerian lady and a female member of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB took things a step further following a revelation she made on her Facebook page. The young lady identified as Nmesoma James, shared pictures of some Biafran currency which she said she found among her grandfather's collections. Nmesoma who calls herself 'Ada Biafra', flaunted the Biafran Pounds while confirming that she is ''proudly part of this evangelism''.

Here's the latest update on the 70-year-old widow who was paraded and banished from her Afikpo native for sleeping with her boyfriend on her matrimonial bed. The widow identified as one Mrs Maria Okoh who hails from Amauzzu Nkpoghoro village in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State was on Tuesday, July 18, banished from the community over alleged sex scandal.

The accused was also paraded in the market shortly after being caught by her grand daughter having sex with her younger lover on her late husband’s bed.

Parading of people unacceptable - Essa Ehugbo.

The member representing Afikpo North East in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Mrs Maria Udu Nwachi (Afikpo Chic), on the 22nd July 2017, complained to Essa Traditional Council of Ehugho, the highest decision making body in Ehugbo (Afikpo), about a 70 year old widow, accused of sleeping with a man in her late husband’s home at Amuzu Nkpogoro, Afikpo, and paraded with the man round the villages; with youths chanting disgraceful songs behind them, thereby creating a scene which attracted condemnation from several quarters, describing such as obnoxious, uncivilized, and other adjectives.

Following the report, the Ekpuke Essa Traditional ruling body on 26 July 2017 at Ulubi Eke Ehugbo deliberated on the matter and stated that the normal thing as Ehugbo tradition demands is that the culprit is liable to atone her misdeed with a goat. The above process, the Essa said is the tradition and not the dehumanising act of parading the culprit. They also advised widows cannot hold themselves, they should re- marry or alternatively pack out from their late husband house.

[i]THE VERDICT IS: No community should parade anyone again and if they ever do, they would be fined N100,000 and another fine of N5000 will be given again to every one in the community who allowed such act. They stated the act of the said community is not acceptable. They frowned at the bad public image the incident gave the town of Afikpo.

The police at Idimu Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, SP Fayomi Solomon early on Wednesday foiled a robbery operation that took place at Zenith Bank Plc branch at Egbeda, Lagos. During the operation, one of the robbers died as a result of injury he sustain in a gun battle with the Police while the second suspect was arrested alive.

The police also recovered short locally made gun and live ammunition including the motorcycle they used to operate in Lagos.

It was gathered that the suspects met their bitter end when they went to the bank targeted one woman identified as Mrs Joyce Bello and snatched N40,000 she withdrew from the Bank ATM.

They reportedly pointed their gun on her head and forced her to surrender the money.

While they where escaping, the mobile policeman attached to the bank noticed what they did and went after them.

The robbers were said to have fell down due to gun injury the rider sustained and on sighting the Police led by the DPO, Solomon.

The corpse of the victim identified as Habib Bello who lived at Shasha area has been recovered and deposited at Igando General Hospital, while the second suspect who resides at Dopemu area was still detained at the Idimu Police Division.

A Nigerian pastor has been accused of brutalizing a woman for 'not worshiping in his church'. According to a Facebook user, Joy Ejiofor who revealed that the victim is her mother, the Ogun state based pastor ordered the woman to be beaten mercilessly last week - leaving her bloodied in the process and landing her in a hospital.

She has launched an online campaign to get justice for her mother.

A female suicide bomber trying to infiltrate Kawuri in Konduga LGA ,Borno State,was arrested by security operatives. The female suicide bomber, who was on obvious mission of committing mayhem, was spotted by a vigilant sentry while trying to access the military location.

Fortunately, she was apprehended before carrying out her deadly mission.

On Monday 24th July 2017, troops of 233 Battalion, 27 Task Force Brigade of Operation LAFIYA DOLE in conjunction with vigilantes on routine patrol arrested 4 confirmed fleeing Boko Haram terrorists at Kurnari village and Nayinawa, outskirts of Damaturu, Yobe State.

The confirmed escaping Boko Haram terrorists, Bukar Waziri, aged 25 years and Mammade Lawan, aged 20 years, were from Buk, while father and son, Muhammadu Damina, aged 40 years and Isah Muhammadu aged 15 years, were from Talala.

During preliminary investigation, they claimed that they were fleeing from the terrorists’ hideout at Talala and Buk in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State because of the unbearable military’s onslaughts and bombardments on their various locations.

In a related development, troops of 33 Brigade Nigerian Army, on Operation FOREST KUNAMA II, on Sunday 23rd July 2017, following a tip off, at about 10.20pm, arrested one Salisu Ibrahim, an armed robbery suspect along Bauchi-Gombe road.

The terrorists and armed robbery suspects are being further investigated.

A Nigerian lady identified as Princess Jemaimah Kalu has revealed how she was saved after falling into the hands of ritualists during her stay in Lagos law school some years back. Read what she shared on her Facebook page on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.


I was in Law School Lagos at the time and was undergoing my Court Attachment at the Federal High Court in 2014. After the Court sitting for the day, I strolled down to Falomo bridge and entered a taxi heading to CMS. At CMS I was supposed to board another vehicle that will take me to Ajegule, I had an outreach to carry out in a secondary school there.

However, I noticed the taxi I entered from Falomo was not following the correct road that leads to CMS. I was about complaining when they driver and the three other men in the vehicle started having a conversation in Hausa language. They did not know I have a little understanding of the language. After listening to their conversation, it dawned on me that I was inside the vehicle of ritualists "One Chance". Then I started praying in tongues within me.

They driver kept on driving and asking the others if I have become unconscious. Well, my eyes were wide open! I remained calm and every time he turned around to look at me, I smiled . At a point he became very angry and drove into a remote place. I was seating in between two men. The doors were firmly locked and the windows were closed. People were passing by but nobody dared come close to see what was happening. The men were looking at me and I was looking at them. After sometime, their Native Doctor arrived and entered the car through the front door. He brought out some powder like stuff from his pocket, sprayed some on his palm and after chanting some words he blew it on my face.

However, I noticed that while he was blowing the stuff, he couldn't look at my face. When he was done I smiled at them and continued praying within. Nothing happened! The Native Doctor got angry and asked the driver where he picked me from. He said to him,

"Where you carry this one come from? Abi you no see the fire wee dey for her face when you carry her? The GOD wee she dey serve done keep trailer for road wee go kill you if you touch her oh! Open door make she carry her trouble dey go oh!"

Immediately after saying this, the driver who was already scared opened the door and yelled at me to get out of his vehicle. Well, I refused to get down. I insisted that they must show me how to get to Ajegule and I told them my mission was to go there and preach the gospel and at that point I did not even know the location where I was. The driver was trying to yell more at me when the Native Doctor told me to come out and he walked me down to the park. When we got to the park before he left he said to me,

"My pikin, that GOD wee you dey serve, make you no leave am oh!"

When I entered the vehicle heading to Ajegule, I kept on weeping. My body was cold and stiff. My lips were shaking! I kept on thanking JEHOVAH!

That day, the LORD delivered me from death! HE wore me the garment of boldness. I was like a lion in the midst of the wicked! The Native Doctor that was supposed to end my life became my escort!

Indeed, we worship a living GOD! Praise the LORD, hallelujah!

A young man identified as Frank was murdered in Ondawari community in southern Ijaw local government of Bayelsa state.According to multiple online reports, the man was allegedly killed following a gun battle between security operatives and some gunmen from the community because of Agip surveillance security jobs.

An unidentified teenage girl’s body has been found at Henshaw Town primary school, Egerton, Calabar South, Cross River State. An eyesight that has left the minds of the pupils of the school questionable. According to reports, the girl was found on Friday 14th July, 2017 morning”.

The girl was said to have been raped and probably killed and dumped as no one knows for sure how she ended up there .

Residents are calling on relevant authorities to evacuate the decaying body before it results to an epidemic in the neighborhood.

Lagos State Police Command has arrested a police officer alongside 18 suspected hoodlums for allegedly causing chaos along Burma Road in Apapa area of the state. In a statement released by the state’s police spokesperson, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, the command received a distress call from the Chief Security Officer, CSO of a new generation bank located in the area.

“The caller said hoodlums were trying to take laws into their hands by setting the bank ablaze following the shooting of a tank driver by a policeman, attached to the bank after a altercation.” he said.

Famous-Cole said operatives of the command including the Area Commander Apapa, the Rapid Response Squad, RRS and other security agents quickly rushed to the scene to take charge of the situation.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, was also present at the scene of the incident.

He said if not for the quick intervention of the Police, the hoodlums would have wreaked more havoc as the destroyed private properties and valuables.

He explained that a mob had gathered in front of the bank demanding the trigger-happy policeman be released to them.

But the bank refused, leading to the arson and further attack another bank branch, located on Wharf Road.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police said the fire at the banks was put out by the police and other security agencies as the tanker driver, identified as Azeez was rushed immediately to the hospital for treatment.

He said he was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital.

“Contrary to reports making rounds in the news, only one tanker driver was shot.” Famous-Cole reiterated.
The policeman has been arrested and would be charged to court immediately, the police mouth-piece said.

He noted that 18 suspected hoodlums were also arrested and investigations on-going.

“The Lagos state police command would like to address the members of the public about the rate of impunity and jungle justice in the state.

“We are no longer going to tolerate the act of lawlessness and impunity by members of the public.” the statement read.

He said normalcy had since been restored to the area.
