PoliticsYouths In Ondo Mobilise To Recall Federal Lawmaker by Dalek(op): 9:05pm On Jun 23, 2017
Youths in Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency of Ondo State have begun to mobilise the people of the constituency to start the process of recalling the lawmaker representing the constituency at the House of Representatives, Mr. Bolarinwa Bamidele.

The youths, under the auspices of the Idanre/Ifedore Youth Coalition, alleged that the lawmaker had not made any positive impact in the federal constituency, adding that he had allegedly abandoned the constituency for a longtime.Addressing journalists in Akure on Thursday, the coordinator of the group, Mr. Adeyemi Alabi, alleged that Bamidele had absconded from the federal constituency. The group also alleged that the lawmakers had not sponsored a single bill on the floor of the lower chamber of the National Assembly since he had been elected to represent the people. Alabi further alleged that the lawmaker had refused to empower the people of the constituency like the other members of the House of Representatives in the state had done. Alabi said, “We are, indeed, unfortunate in Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency; Bamidele has absconded from this area. His constituency office is non-functional. We can’t access our representative; he has not been home for a longtime now.”

However, one of the aides of the federal lawmaker, Mr. Odeyemi Richard, who spoke on his behalf, said the allegations were not true. He explained that the federal legislator had done well for the people of the constituency. He said, “We in Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency are not complaining, no lawmakerin Ondo has achieved what my boss had achieved in our federal constituency in the last two years. We have nine federal lawmakers at the lower chamber and none of them has achieved what my boss had achieved in the last two years.”

I don't have any problem whatsoever with d Arabic/French option.......the misgiving is why CRS/IRS should be merged with civic. Why not leave them as they were? What will it cost to have civic and CRS/IRS as two SEPARATE subjects? I believe its better ds way. If crs and IRS are combined as a single subject under civic (sic) ..... do u teach d students both IRS and CRS irrespective of their religious inclinations?......sounds kinda weird undecided
on the last part no, the ministry of education actually said it wen it comes to the subject, dey will have different class.

The principal, who also spoke on merging of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) and Islamic Religious Knowledge(IRK), said there is no controversy on the merger; only lack of publicity by the authorities which led to lack of understanding on the part of schools and other stakeholders. His words: “There is no controversy and the merger has nothing to do with one’s religion because if you are a Muslim, you take only IRK and vice versa. The only issue is that the questions are merged – IRK andCRK. So if you are to take hundred questions, you willhave 110 questions set for Islamic studies and Christian religious studies. That means, you will leave 10 undone.

Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya (ANPP, Kano South) has described the recent adjustment in the school curriculum by Federal Ministry of Education which leads to the replacement of the teaching of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) and Islamic Religious Knowledge (IRK) with civic education as unacceptable.Senator Gaya, in a goodwill message on the occasion of Christmas and New Year celebrations, urged Nigerians to be patient as everything is being done to reverse the trend. He called on the education ministry to, as matter of urgency, revert to the former curriculum as the status quo of civic education teaches nothing but immorality and government antagonism."The unity and faith in the Nigeria coat of arm symbolises faith in the two religions. I remember in our school days, a Ghanaian teacher taught us proudly on this, why at this time of our development are we throwing this to the trash can?"I also urge all Nigerians to be patient as all issues of national interest are being given accelerated attention. We in Nigeria know that no religion preaches terrorism so government should look for an avenue to negotiatewith all proponents to ensure security of lives and property of Nigerians," he also said.In a release signed by Senator Gaya, he rejoiced with Nigerian Christians and all Nigerians on the occasion of Christmas and New Year celebrations."As the year rolls to a close, we all will agree that the country passed through turbulent times particularly on security challenges. We in the senate promise Nigerians that the 2012 will be year that the senate will adjust to tackle fundamental issues of national interest. Nigerians will witness a robust legislative year in 2012," the release reads in part.

Chinese or Mandarin as the Case might be should be selected with French as International language for students
now you're talking without sentiments, exactly but our government would rather stick with what it's easy for them and cost effective.

Arabic teachers na sharp sharp to get, why waste (invest) in better languages for the betterment of this nation.

i believe there are more Arabic speakers in Nigeria than the rest of those languages. it would be hard getting qualified teacher to teach other Foreign languages. even french teacher is low.

Arabic best suits the North, even here in Lagos french teacher are hired to come teach only on specific days as some private schools don't employ them permanently

instead of one nonsense alfa be teaching children diluted Arabic based on extremism, wouldn't it be better to regulate the teaching in a school.. i believe it will help the North better.

It's baffling how people would think CRK will be replaced by IRK I'm the first place. How and why?
Lack of proper research from the rumor Mongers, if you're not clear about an issue. Raise a FOI request to get clarification. these people just love to be seen as relevant and reel in sentiments.
