Family / Re: Help Me Get Over My Sister's Death by damatiti(f): 1:32pm On Jun 13, 2008
My sister passed on in 2000  and I am slowly releasing her to rest in peace.  I was once like you, I blamed everybody and myself until I met one stranger who told me that my sister wants to move on but I keep her behind. Everytime I call her name when I cry she gets worried about me and cannot rest but has no way of communicating to tell me to stop.

This person advised me to keep an object like an ornament or candle (never a picture) in a special place and everytime you pass that ornament  think about your sister, touch it and think how peaceful that object that represents your sister looks like. Gradually you will realise that you no longer cry but that you want to keep the object restfull. Never tell anyone in your house about that object because those who do no believe in what you go through will never accept your intentions and may make a mockery of you.

Your husband will soon see the change in you and dear sister hang in there for your your sister is watching and smiling at your every efforts only she can't tell you how much she appreciates you.

I hope this helps you too. Good luck and work on your marriage your sister does not want your marriage to suffer. I trust in meditation, it helps me a lot maybe you can do that too. I may sound harsh but you are injuring yourself hence the loss of feeling in your legs. Let go of the grief slowly start by going out, I mean outside as in going to the park and just sit and listen to the birds, watch the clouds moving, smell the air, dogs barking, only encourage positive thoughts in your mind. If you are interested I can be with you everyday through email and encourage you till you reach happiness with your sister's death.
Webmasters / Re: Which Is The Fastest Internet Connection In Nigeria by damatiti(f): 12:07pm On Jun 13, 2008
I have been with Accelon for two years but the company has been bought over by a new company called Internet solutions. my reception was always extremely slow and erratic and now it is even worse than before. I have satelite connection (no dial up) and pay over 35 per month, paid over 100k for dish and installion and now the new company wants additional payment for new cabling, is that fair?

I am in Abuja and I need  recommendations for a fast and reliable ISP which can make use of the current infrasructure  please?
Nairaland / General / Why Do Nigerians Run Away To Other Countries by damatiti(f): 9:38pm On May 24, 2008
Nigerians are running away from Nigeria?  Yet the same Nigerians complain when they are repatriated? Why not stay and make Nigeria a better place?

brownbonno and all others who responded.

What luxury could she possibly enjoy in this your bad roads, no nepa, fake drugs, fake food , let me not name them all.

FIRSTLY my friend came because he pestered her to invite him so he could migrate to her country for good and she decided to come see for herself why he so desperately wants to get out from this so called Great Giant of Africa.

SECONDLY she came because she wanted to prove to others that the bad image they hear about nja could be a lie. BUT NOW SHE WILL GO AND CONFIRM THAT ALL THEY HEAR ABOUT NJA IS TRUE AND EVEN WORSE.

What she saw here disgusted her so much,  when she left she was vomiting from some bad bug she picked up in this YOUR so called good luxury hotels. she spent only 3 days in this your country. sha , I hope she did not pick up typhoid/ cholera , shame she may be quarantined like they do to dogs when she got home.

As for the dude who tried to 419 her, may he find some stupid white ladY in europe for a visa to go abroad. WHY DO YOU WANNA RUN AWAY FROM THIS YOUR COUNRTY . YOU MUST ALL STAY AND DEVELOP THE PLACE.

well I don't need anymore of your blah blah blah I rest my case. THANK YOU.

Romeo and Blatant

I looked for your views on nairaland about an issue I felt is very very unbecoming of an african. We (AFRICANS) never take our guests to hotels, we are very very accommodating and sincere with all whom we associate that is why this matter hurt us so much and my friend and I wanted to know if this was nigerian culture or 419 culture.

In my country when we invite guests we make sure we reserve a bedroom, if the house is full with relatives, we request the relatives to move into one room so as to make sure there IS A ROOM RESERVED FOR THE GUEST. we provide good hospitality for the guest and treat them to our traditional food and show them our way of living. This we do even to a total stranger,   that is africanism my friend.

my friend left on Saturday and decided never to have anything to do with nigerians. Is that what you would have wanted. We preach about ONE AFRICA ONE PEOPLE ,  with people like u we have a very long way to go,  to reach what KWAME dreamed about.

Blatant

The next piece was written by you BLATANT ,  I just copied it from "136 Nigerians Kicked Off British Airways Flight! pasted it here just to show u who u are. U said it, not me,  hehehehe

"Nigerians are the daftest of people on earth!!!

Please don't be offended.

Nigerians never think deep about anything, too shallow to consider what might also affect them or their families in future, too preoccupied with the NOW and blinded to the future.

I can bet many of those who read this story or even withnessed the event will be booking BA flights in the coming weeks.

Shame on us all  "

THATS WHAT YOU WROTE ABOUT YOURSELVES,  HEHEHEHEHEHEH

He is not your husband whom you can give up your work for. Afterall, he is a cheat thats why he cheated on his wife with you and will do the same again and again with many others. You say you have a good job, dont give it up for him.

Why dont I get any response or comments? your silence confirms that I may have hit the nail on its head and that it is nja culture to invite guests and dump them in hotels?

I now want to conclude that 419 is part of Nigerian culture.
Culture / Why Do Nja Men Take Foreign Guest (lady) To A Hotel by damatiti(f): 10:04am On Apr 26, 2008
Is it a norm in Nigeria for a man to invite a guest from another country and keep this person in a hotel. These two persons were having a long distance relationship for over a year and they decided to meet in order to move to another level, yet when the lady arrived she was taken to a hotel. This person is a big boss in one business and must have a house, or so I belief. He has a car and a chauffeur who is driving her around while he is at work. Perhaps it is all a big lie perhaps the car and office are just a charade?  What is he hiding? Could there be a wife or girlfriend at home? Perhaps he does not trust her and thinks she may steal his silver?

Please give me your views.

Religion / Please Recommend A Church In Abuja With Few Offerings + No House Visit Requests by damatiti(f): 8:34pm On Apr 07, 2008
I am new in Nigeria from another African country and would like to go to church at my pace and give offerings without being forced.  Also I do not like the loud sound system used in some churches I visited. If the sound is so loud it makes understanding Nigerian english very difficult and secondly it gives me headache. I am a christian and sometimes feel to hear the word of God from someone preaching.

Romance / Re: 3 Things You Should Never Do Around Your Man by damatiti(f): 9:54pm On Mar 04, 2007
There is nothing wrong in passing wind in each others presence. If you hold it in it causes an epset tummy. Let loose and enjoy the moment. Why would you leave your partner everytime you need to fart!! it spoils the moment to leave. Also, the changing of tampons, my dearest hubby had to wash my undies after I gave birth because I was so sick and could not do so myself. If you are in a relationship learn to do everything together. My hubby is my best friend because we share everything.
Family / Re: Tell Us About Your Marriage by damatiti(f): 9:28pm On Mar 04, 2007
This is the best thread I have ever read on nairaland. I am a visitor to your country and am sometimes bored if there repeats of Nigerian movies running on tv, then I go to nairaland. I just love your humour, vast experiences and culture. Been blissfully married for 25 years I thought I knew and had it all in a marriage but today I learned many new ways that will further cement our union much firmer. Thank you.
Family / Re: Can A Woman Steal From Her Husband? by damatiti(f): 8:43pm On Mar 04, 2007
I never have to answer for money taken from my hubby's pocket or bank account for that matter. since we got married we are one, needless to say whatever money he earns is ours and whatever I earn is ours. Been married for 25 years.
