Foreign Affairs / Royal Announcement: William & Kate Will Officially Be King & Queen by dami2boi(m): 3:23pm On Aug 10, 2017 |
Royal Announcement: William & Kate Will Officially Be King & Queen Take a look at your newest soon-to-be King and Queen of England! Today, Queen Elizabeth officially announced that she will be passing down her crown to her grandson Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton. This, of course, means that the Queen has skipped over her own son, Prince Charles, in the British monarchy’s line of succession. Bummer. While the drama surrounding the royal family has taken most of the attention away from their policies and image of regal stature, the Queen believes implementing a younger generation than her son is vital for the House of Windsor to thrive in the future. “Her Majesty realized that William and Kate are the future,” said a palace insider. “She has spent 65 years making sure that the House of Windsor survives, and she sees William and Kate as having the energy and star quality to do the job in a modern world. Queen Elizabeth will always do what is best for the long-term health of the monarchy.” Her Majesty has also said that she truly does not believe the monarchy has the “respect and power it once had.” The source continued, “In her eyes, William and Kate are the two people who can turn that around.” So how does the King-to-be and forever-Prince feel about the decision? Unfortunately, the decision has caused a rift between William and his father Charles. According to the same insider, their relationship has been strained, but they will get used to it eventually. Just like classic Brits, they’ll push their feelings as deep down as possible! And, of course, what does this mean for the world’s most popular couple and their young family? Since Prince George and Princess Charlotte are only 4 and 2 years old, respectively, Kate is mostly concerned about her role as a mother. “She’s desperate to remain a hands-on mom and worries about being in the spotlight more,” says the palace insider. So while the rest of the world is excited for the change and step forward, it’s important to remember that they are, in fact, still trying to be a normal family. https://www.yahoo.com/news/royal-announcement-william-kate-officially-021200634.html

Crime / Rivers People Must Hear His-why I Lost $39 Million Rivers Fund To Fraudsters by dami2boi(m): 10:07am On Aug 04, 2017 |
Why I Lost $39 Million Rivers Fund To Fraudsters – Amaechi by Femi Famutimi Former Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi has disclosed why he lost $39 million to fraudsters in Rivers state. The Federal Minister of Transport who at his Senate hearing famously uttered, “I have never taken bribe in my life but if they send a girl to you and you sleep with the girl and do that favour, that means you are corrupt”, said that he lost the money because he was only human and was learning on the job. Guardian reported about the fraud in 2015, After spending N8.54 billion on a proposed 1,000-bed Adolphus Karibi Whyte Specialist Hospital, the permanent secretary in Rivers State Ministry of Health, Somiari Harry yesterday said there is no physical structure at the site of the project. Vital documents such as a memorandum of understanding and shareholders’ agreement between the state government and Canadian-based Clinotech Diagnostic and Pharmaceutical Limited, which received the $39.2 million to build the contentious hospital are said to be missing. Harry told the Justice George Omereji-led commission of inquiry investigating the non-execution of the 15-storey Adolphus Karibi Whyte Specialist Hospital after the payment of $39.2 million (equivalent to N4.6 billion in 2008), to Clinotech, that besides some parts of prefabricated buildings littering around, containers and other equipment, there is nothing at the site of the proposed hospital to justify the huge amount the state government paid to the contractor. According to him, the concept was for the hospital to provide world-class medical services in Port Harcourt. He said the estimated cost of the project was $98 million and based on this a memorandum of understanding and shareholders agreement were signed by the parties, which required that the state government would provide 40 percent of the funding, while Clinotech would provide 60 percent. According to him, state government paid off its own 40 percent equity valued at $39.2 m (N4.6 billion) at the time to Clinotech, which in turn failed to contribute its own counterpart funding for the project. Amaechi is seen in this video explaining how his learning on the job cost the people of Rivers state $39.2 million. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZxCeF2kugM Read more at http://www.herald.ng/lost-39-million-rivers-fund-fraudsters-amaechi/#ROKkKePPIdGhbTP2.99 |

Sports / Neymar Will Make $1 Million Per Week At PSG by dami2boi(m): 10:28am On Aug 03, 2017 |
Neymar will make $1 million per week at PSG Numbers from Neymar’s big deal to move to Paris Saint-Germain are out, and they are massive. The Brazilian superstar will reportedly make $1,025,000 per week at the Parc des Princes for a — wait for it — princely sum of about $54 million per year. [ MORE: Latest Neymar news ] Bonkers. That means Neymar, at age 25, will be the highest paid soccer player in the world, surpassing the $813,000 per week Carlos Tevez makes in China. Neymar was given leave from Barcelona training on Wednesday to help sort out his future. From the BBC: Barcelona have told the French club they must pay his 222m euro (£198m) fee “in full” and they are understood to be ready to meet his release clause. It means PSG’s total outlay across the initial five-year deal will come to £400m. That’s about $475 million over the five years of the deal, quite an investment for a player who will now attempt to prove he’s as big a star as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He’ll also bear the burden of doing what Zlatan Ibrahimovic could not and fulfill PSG’s dream of a Champions League title. https://sports.yahoo.com/neymar-1-million-per-week-213456865.html Nicholas Mendola NBC Sports Follow @NicholasMendola
