Family / Re: Being The Only Child Of Your Parents: How Has It Been Like? by DamiKhojie(m): 5:01am On Jan 04, 2013
I mean I still had to do all the same things as a typical nigerian kid which stinks because I never had anyone to split chores with. It also was annoying havin all your parents attention you and it was nearly impossible to get away with anything. I did get lonely at times but I had plenty of cousins coming in and out of my house so it wasn't too bad.
Politics / Re: Suits: Why Do Nigerian Presidents Hate Wearing Them? by DamiKhojie(m): 1:16pm On Mar 30, 2012
As long as they are wearing native clothing who cares not like they're wearing t-shirts and jeans.
Music/Radio / Re: Akon Signs Wizkid,psquare And Tubaba by DamiKhojie(m): 12:20am On Dec 20, 2011

utelee:

inviting 30 players is a waste of time our local player do not hav patience later they will travel abroad. nonsense

Why would they stay and play in Nigerian leagues the pay isn't nearly as good as what they'd make abroad and outside of Nigeria who's really watching them.
Politics / Re: Bigamy No Longer A Crime In Lagos by DamiKhojie(m): 1:26pm On Dec 15, 2011
I wouldn't do it personally as I feel it's kind of selfish but it's not really my business what people choose to do with their love lives. Thing is though if it's legal for men to marry multiple women it should work the other way around.
Sports / Re: Earthquake Shakes Club World Cup In Japan by DamiKhojie(m): 9:05pm On Dec 14, 2011
To Japan a 4.9 earthquake is nothing it happens all the time. Plus their buildings are made to withstand much more, I'm sure they felt nothing more than a small shake.
Politics / Re: Same-SEX - FG Threathens To Jail U.S. Citizens by DamiKhojie(m): 7:59pm On Dec 14, 2011
kenjudy:

Since from d origin of mankind, it has always been man and woman. Now humans are tired of having d opposit sex, rather preffered same sex, and some people supports it. U better be ready to follow when human and animal will finally be legalised, tho it has started with your all loving America,  Maybe when u (silly supporters) gets tired of animals, what happens? And better be ready if u support that evil cos u will one day experience what is like to be a man-lover. Maybe then u'll understand,

I'm sorry but really? Whether or not you agree with it a consensual relationship between two people of the same sex is not the same as someone having s*x with an animal. It astounds me that with terrible roads, unreliable electricity, corruption, poverty, outside corps exploiting you for your resources and leaving the mess for you to clean up that same-sex marriage is what Nigerians choose to focus on? Wow, just wow. It seems like too many people are blindly following their religious leaders, and falling for their politicians lip-service while both manipulate them for their own gain, and believe it or not this is the same reason America as become a sh*thole over the past 5 yrs NOT because they're giving people their basic human rights.
Politics / Re: Nigerian's Ten Most Wanted List by DamiKhojie(m): 3:37am On Dec 10, 2011
If it was accurate it'd probably be made up of all politicians lipsrsealed
Foreign Affairs / Re: Us Senate Okays Soldiers To Be Intimate With Horses! by DamiKhojie(m): 3:34am On Dec 10, 2011
kaykaybaba:

The ignorance that Nigerians often display is truly astounding. undecided undecided maclatunji has rightly said it all: "It is one thing to have Google; knowing how to use it is a different matter altogether!"

Exactly it takes literally two seconds to fact check these things. The link I posted above was one of the first of several stories I saw that explained it.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Us Senate Okays Soldiers To Be Intimate With Horses! by DamiKhojie(m): 1:17am On Dec 10, 2011
http://www.kake.com/news/headlines/Pentagon_Beastiality_Still_Considered_Illegal_135329868.html?ref=868

There you go stop with these knee jerk reactions. And for the record having sex with animals is not the same as a consensual relationship between two adults (whether you agree with it or not).
Fashion / Re: Guys, What's Your Taste In Jewelry? by DamiKhojie(m): 2:24pm On Dec 08, 2011
I wear I lot of bracelets especially wooden/beaded ones that's about it unless you consider watches then I wear those from time too. Been debating piercing my ears but I think I'll pass.
Culture / Re: How Naija/americans Are Viewed Amongst Nigerians! by DamiKhojie(m): 8:14am On Dec 08, 2011
I'm Nigerian born in America or American of Nigerian heritage(whatever you want to call it) and my parents always raised me to embrace my culture, although it's not like I had an option with a very long Yoruba name lol. Anyway I've been to Nigeria several times since I was about 5 (I'm 20 now) and with a few exceptions people have generally been pretty accepting as long as I showed respect and interest in them. The only thing that was strange for me was the constant greetings, in New York you generally mind your business you're not always expected to say hi, good morning, good evening etc. to every person you come across but in Nigeria I feel I have to acknowledge everyone which is like a chore to me tongue. I even remember some lady going to my aunt telling her how annoyed she was that I didn't greet her in a room full of 20 something people. But hey your from Georgia you guys seem to be a lot friendlier down there.
Family / Re: Bad Parents Bring Up Bad Children by DamiKhojie(m): 2:46pm On Nov 29, 2011
For the most part it's true but there are always outliers. I know people with terrible parents and I'm amazed (and proud) of how they turned out. And I also know people who had pretty good parents who didn't turn out well as adults.
Computers / Re: Laptop With Longest Battery Life by DamiKhojie(m): 5:04am On Nov 29, 2011
Got a macbook pro 15 inch for college in 2009 when I push it (lights all the way on using media volume up bunch of apps running) I usually get 2-3 hrs when I'm just browsing the internet or listening to music typing up an assignment etc. I get 5-7 hours. Keep in mind this is after 2 yrs the first year or so I had it I was getting 4-8 hours depending on the tasks and other than the flimsy charger I've had no problems with it.
Business / Re: Nigeria Should Clean Up Oil Spills In Niger Delta - Dutch Cabinet by DamiKhojie(m): 9:07pm On Nov 18, 2011
If these leaders want to doo there job stop getting paid off by these oil companies and tell them to clean their own mess. I'm studying Civil/ Environmental Engineering here in the US I told the professor my families from nigeria. First thing he said was a lot of oil there shame how they're unable to control it. He also mentioned how the Pollution in the Delta dwarfs the BP spill smh undecided
Computers / Re: Only 28.2% Of Nigerians Use The Internet - CNN by DamiKhojie(m): 2:06pm On Sep 01, 2011
That's still more than the populations of most countries and considering Nigeria is a developing country it's still pretty good.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Ranked 38th In Latest FIFA World Ranking by DamiKhojie(m): 7:56pm On Aug 25, 2011
I agree these things are either rigged or bias. England still in the top four am I the only one who think's they are one of the most overrated National Teams?
Business / Re: Do You Think Nigeria Will Ever Be A Developed Country: ? by DamiKhojie(m): 7:20pm On Aug 19, 2011
Maybe in 50 years or next century corruption & religion in my opinion are the biggest things. Once corruption is actually punished, and we get people to stop blindly following religion the rest will come eventually.
Celebrities / Re: Nigerian Accent Ranked Fifth Sexiest In The World By CNN by DamiKhojie(m): 7:04pm On Aug 19, 2011
Honestly it depends on who's speaking it I've heard all these accents (French is my favorite), and some girls with them sounded normal or even annoying others really do sound sexy so it all depends
Crime / Re: London Riots: Nigerian Remanded For Looting . by DamiKhojie(m): 8:32pm On Aug 12, 2011
Amazing how media is so quick to blame Nigerians, Asians, Muslims and other while they ignore that many white teens have also participated in the riots. Smh as someone who grew up in the States I always thought the UK was years ahead of us when it came to race relations. undecided.

even in this video where most are white people are commenting it's only blacks causing damage

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYuMPw6Yi3k

Hopefully everyone participating no matter the race gets what they deserve angry.
Romance / Re: Why Do Men Grow Very Long Nails? by DamiKhojie(m): 4:41pm On Aug 11, 2011
Honestly always thought this was disgusting i like to keep mine trimmed. I grew up in New York and long nails usually means you're doing drugs. My Chinese friend said in China and other parts of Asia it means you're rich (as if you have long nails ur probably not doing hard labor). Who knows what it means for Nigerians.
Romance / Re: What Is Your Age Limit For Dating? by DamiKhojie(m): 3:26am On Aug 11, 2011
if ur between 12-30 in the US we usually say divide your age in half and add 7 that's the youngest you can date without it being awkward so in my case it's 17 don't think I'd date more than 2yrs older.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Will Usa Go To War With China To End Its Economic Decline? by DamiKhojie(m): 4:18pm On Aug 09, 2011
This seems like a pretty dumb question attacking China would not improve our economic decline. Not to mention the consequences of such an action would be devastating considering the economies of the US, China, Japan, and the EU are so tightly intertwined that even the slightest disturbance in one would send ripples to the others. So why would any world power attack the other knowing full well what could happen. I know many of the Right -Wing Conservative & Tea Partiers in America love war, but they know they have nothing to gain from attacking China
Family / Re: Should Nigerian Men Be Neutered To Save Nigeria by DamiKhojie(m): 12:04am On Aug 09, 2011
They should just limit the amount of children that people can have in this day an age people shouldn't be having ridiculous amounts of kids. For the record I'm pretty sure neutering and vasectomy are not the same thing vasectomy is getting your tubes tied and can be reversed neutering is removing reproductive organs which is probably no different then castration (just the thought makes me cringe undecided).
Music/Radio / Re: 99% Of Nigerian Hip Hop Singers Are Clowns by DamiKhojie(m): 2:27am On Jul 29, 2011
Most are trash I like a few like Naeto C, MI, Ice Prince,DaGrin and some others. My problem with most of the Nigerian rappers is I have no problem with them being inspired by US rapper but they just go all out and imitate copy them and the vast majority of the time they do it poorly( you can also observe this with Nigerian reggae & dancehall impersonators). Also artists like Timaya, P-Square, 2face, Flavour, J Martins, D'Banj are more Nigerian Pop, Dance music then Hip-Hop most just put a modern twist on Nigerian Music.
Foreign Affairs / Re: So Oyinbo Too Dey Bomb; Norwegian Bombing Carried Out By Norwegian Citizen And Not Muslims by DamiKhojie(m): 3:14am On Jul 25, 2011
Funny when I was reading all the comments on news sites on the Internet people were so quick to judge and were seemingly happy that there stereotypes seemed to have been confirmed when some radical islamist group tried to take credit for the killings. Nice to see these intolerant bigots eat their words.
Religion / Re: Hitler Was A Christian? by DamiKhojie(m): 12:40am On Jul 25, 2011
I think he identified as Christian but didn't actively participate it. He was a very convincing speaker so I'm positive he probably would've used it to his advantage in speeches when condemning Jews. It really doesn't matter what his religion was in the same way it doesn't matter that Radical/Fundamentalists Muslims practice Islam because at the end of the day they're all scum who killed innocent people and should be remembered as such.
Religion / Re: God Does Not Exist: This Is The Proof ! by DamiKhojie(m): 12:30am On Jul 25, 2011
@claremont at the end of the day you aren't going to convince someone who've dedicated their entire lives to a certain religion to stop no matter how much you argue or how much "evidence" you provide. Rather than stressing over trying to convince people there is no God or their religion is false you should focus on the main problems that stem from religion which are mainly intolerance and blindly following religious leaders. These in my opinion are why the most religious of third world/ developing countries are often the worst off. They throw the country into chaos over petty differences rather then just tolerating each other and facing the serious issues at hand. Also following these religious leaders blindly also kills these countries especially in Nigeria. Not only do we Nigeria's own leaders come and rob us blind but then they let religious leaders from abroad falsely promising miracles stealing money from those living in a shack meanwhile they'll leave in their Private Jet to go live comfortably in their house with the money they just plundered from a bunch of unfortunate & gullible followers. These are the things you should try to make clear to them instead of trying to convert. The more you try to shove it down their throats the more they will resist and the same goes for all religions. There's nothing wrong with having some faith just don't be a total bigot and sheep.
Religion / Re: Morality Is Relative. Do You Agree? by DamiKhojie(m): 11:39pm On Jul 24, 2011
And everyones conscience is different hence the term "he/she has no conscience" when someone shows no regret for harming someone or going against the social norms.
Religion / Re: Morality Is Relative. Do You Agree? by DamiKhojie(m): 10:50pm On Jul 24, 2011
yommyuk:

I am not talking about the legality of the issue but the morals involved. It like saying two same sex adults consenting together. Yes, it is within their right, legally speaking, but morally wrong to most of us.

Saying that, Morality can be relative on some certains issues like traditonal beliefs and cultural practices. e.g. choice of bride, equality b/w genders, respect for elders, age of intimate consent, criminal liability age and many more.

catch 22 more like. embarassed

Those are the keywords most of us is not all of us. The thing I added about 18 plus was just a reason why I'm saying that may not have a problem with it. Putting legality aside my main point was that there are cultures where a father would not think twice if his daughter had been sleeping with different men at 18 or even younger. I think because the world is becoming a smaller place as a result of technology our morals will slowly become more and more similar, but I don't ever think there will be a universal ethics code for wrong or right and good or bad.
