Education / Re: What’s The Possibilities Of Graduating With 2.1 (3.5 CGPA) by dammywizzy: 8:00am On Mar 22, 2023
Hi OP it's a good thing you've noticed your lapses and you're willing toake amendment. This was my similar story when I was in 400L(first semester) I had to do all it takes so as to have a 2.1 second class upper too. I knew it was all A's or nothing so the first thing I did was that I calculated how many A's I needed, I made sure I was closer to all my lecturers than before, I was present in all my classes, I did all my test very well, and of course I read extra. It paid off because I had A in my project which was an 8unit, I cleared all my 2unit with a A grade and I had only 1B. It was enough to land me a 3.5 CGPA and that's it. So brace up, move closer to ur lecturers, appreciate them and aim for an A in all the course u put in for.
TV/Movies / Re: Why Is The World Cup Not Seen As A Distraction To 2023 Election Like Bbnaija? by dammywizzy: 7:51am On Dec 02, 2022
Here are some reasonable reasons why the world cup isn't a distraction.
(1) It's a global sport event
(2) it doesn't promote immorality, gossip and hatred
(3) it's a way to relax and unwind it's not a show that runs for 24hrs . We don't watch players while they sleep and snore
(4) Everyone can watch it it's not rated 18+. And it gives a sense of belonging if your country or continent is ably represented
(5) sport is fun

This write up is a total bullshit, everyone is beautiful/handsome with the right amt of money. The OP sef no even understand as he dey do am just talking from both side of her mouth
IntersexSherry:
All those saying that women are only into money and don't care how the man look like na wash oh. Yes, women like money because we have lot of needs and it requires lot of expenses to maintain our beauty but it doesn't mean we don't like better thing.

The thing is, women are very strong emotionally so can accept any kind of man even if he looks like chimpanzee. Just that we don't chase men the way men chase women because of shyness. Even if a girl likes a boy, she will want him to make the first move, if he doesn't, she forgets him. Afterall, we still got lot of chasers. Women just want everything..

Me i like fine boys oh but still i'm okay with any man with good personality but if i should between an ugly billionaire and a handsome poor boy, i will choose the ugly billionaire because i can benefit a lot with the luxurious life.
Afterall looks will fade one day and let's not forget almost all men are the same whether ugly or fine, men na men. Only sex they want..

Nothing special about the mansion. He should focus on better things. So what should the likes of Drake now do with their own mansion if this one no wan allow us hear word. You will see better interiors than this in mansions at lekki , maitama, ikoyi and asokoro.

Also, there's no proof his mansion costs 350M as he's claiming. Don't be deceived by their fake lives and what they tell you on social media. Davido can't cough out 350M easily like that without bleeding his bank account.

Dear Liedetector, I am not seeking to draw us into an elaborate exchange that is founded on our individual perspectives of life. I do however wish to be of immense help to a much younger person drawing from my experience.

You are not unfortunate in any way. You happen to be so fortunate that you do not understand. You belong to a generation that has had the best access to opportunities which naturally makes more demands on you. We were not so lucky 20 years ago.

What you call unfortunate incidents mostly depends on how you look at it. Take for instance the current COVID 19 menace. It appears unfortunate but look at it critically, a few people have positioned themselves to benefit immensely from this supposed menace.

Others are just complaining seriously. As a matter of experience, when you are on the complaining side of the spectrum you cannot see inherent opportunities because a you seek are faults and more faults. The successful ones seek out opportunities and more opportunities.

For the avoidance of doubt, even in your immediate environment there are several opportunities for you to max out. The only snag is that you need to start small. And please you don't need money to start out in every business. Your abilities backed by a strong determination to conquer which is in turn laced by an infectious enthusiasm will see you through.

Several testimonies abound even here on Nairaland which you could draw from. Small everyday businesses and trades that you can adapt and modify to suit your immediate circumstances.

Whatever you do, please ensure that you give it your all even if it appears like it is not working. It is growing in leaps and bounds but may not be obvious to you at the moment.

Look for something and start out immediately. Forget if you are earning enough or not. Start out with 500.00 daily and grow it to 1k and then 2k and then eventually 5k.

Bros, even Aboki come to Lagos empty handed and without degrees or NYSC certs and within a few years the still make out a living and even bring down their families.

Gear Up Bro!

We live in exciting times. This is the best time to be alive in the evolution of the human race. Exploit this era as much as you can.

Good luck!

This is very insightful, thanks for this, I really appreciate.

Amen. Can we brainstorm on hustles one can engage in to mitigate the effect of this Corona pandemic?
For now all I've been doing too is brainstorming on so many ideas, all in all it all boils down to money. But I want to just use this medium to rewrite my goals and aspirations and find workable solutions to them. I'm also into part-time printing so I've been putting up ads on my social media and hoping to get potential clients

You have just created an online pity party.

Many people experiencing similar circumstances will flood the thread very soon.

I don't know why you think it had to be so hard. You just have to deal with the situation as is and all you need is the right disposition to overcome and you will put this behind you very soon.

A few tips may be useful here.

Firstly, the Corona Virus pandemic is going to be in our midst for while together with its attendant drawbacks and by extension its negative impact on the global economy. The beautiful thing is that those who can shift their gaze and reposition themselves will sooner than later realize that this could be a springboard for changing their lives and making a lot of money.

Secondly, deal with the situation on the ground. There will be no NYSC for at least one year. C
Schools may not likely open till the fall and that means there will be no new openings for teachers.

You have to buckle up and look clearly around you. Opportunities abound. Most of them will not look attractive on first appearance but then who says that they cannot be helpful?

Do not look down on any available option at this time. Look for a way of making a daily income of 1000 providing a needed service or product in your locality/neighbourhood. Start with whatever may appear as lower hanging fruits now. Then work your way upwards.

The secret may yet lie in selling a fast moving consumer product of the food variant.

Wishing you the best of luck.

Thank you so much for this. Op you're not the only one passing through this as a matter of fact over 80% of fresh graduates across the federation are battling with this right now. But I'm highly optimistic that God will see us through

Politics / Re: Buhari Extends Gradual Ease Of Lockdown In Lagos, Abuja, Ogun By 2 Weeks by dammywizzy: 4:21pm On May 18, 2020
Knowing fully well that Covid 19 is real, but Covid19 in Nigeria is a faux. A whole lot of shady things is being perpetuated and this is because of how our govt portray things, the end result of this whole rubbish is that it will cripple the economy and slide us back into recession, with many being obviously out of jobs, many more will join the unemployed train. I beckon to our leaders to instead put measures in place, health and safety measures that is and let people go back to there business. Even if it's not going to be back to business as usual, health measures and guidelines that are put in place would help reduce the spread while people continue to earn their living. This isn't even among the 5 most deadly virus in the history of mankind.

Covid-19 keeps increasing in Lagos, what is the way forward to Flatten this rising curve? 'The battle between our health and hunger'.
Why do you think the poor are unwilling to stay at home?
Is it because you think they want to die?
Let's open our understanding and analyze within proper context...
There are two issues now in Lagos, Nigeria.
1. Health crises
2. Hunger crises
The rich are afraid of (1)
The poor are afraid of (2)
The rich are pushing the poor to stay at home as they who are rich believe that is what will save the situation(just as it as helped other well developed countries)and perhaps their assets as well.
The poor are also pushing to survive as they know they may die of hunger and not the virus if they don't take care. Well, what do you expect from people who make daily income, they have families to feed and they must survive even admist a pandemic.
The rich, it appears, fear the virus and not hunger.
The poor, it seems, fear hunger more than the virus.
Each is fighting for his survival, only differently.
SOLUTION
• Let the state govt provide money in cash for its citizens either in Grants or loan(5k,10k even 15k)... Provisions of food relief doesn't work it's not even appreciated, to make matters worse it not even getting to ppl who need it.
• Let the rich, if they are really serious about not dying, push that strategic steps be taken to feed all the poor and constantly, not only once but twice at least.... for this method, food banks need to be set up, in each LG office bvn should be used as a means of identification...this things aren't rocket science. Come on compatriots!
• But if they just keep crying stay at home, the poor may take the desperate mantra to mean- *die at home* .....which will definitely turn to a revolt hence, robbery, hooliganism, fighting and theft will become rampant
• Every SME in lagos who actively pays tax until Jan 2020 should be given a certain amount as reimbursement truly a newly set up scheme.
• Lagos state govt should pls and pls engage all health educators, a lot of health educators in the university and college of edu across the state. I believe they can play a vital role now!
We are each others' keepers.
For the poor to stay at home and soundly, what they fear most, which is hunger crises must be well dealt with.
Otherwise they will come out to survive, and that is as well dangerous; for they may eventually be killed by the cruel virus.
Let's be each others' keepers in these hard times.
Let the rich stand for the poor in these crises, and together, we shall be safe.
God bless us all. This time shall surely pass. Share till it reaches appropriate authority.
