Programming / Having The Nigeria Stock Market Reports Api On Your Website. by damolat: 2:24pm On Aug 01, 2008
Hello, does anyone have any information on how I can have the Nigeria Stock Market Reports on my website.
I am making a site for an asset management company and they want to have that kind of information which is updated daily dynamically from the nigeria stock exchange.

Information like price gainers, price losers, share index, etc.
Is there some sort of API or application that supports this which I have to get from the stock exchange or how exactly can I go about it. Any help would be useful, thanks guys.

My dear, I don't need advice from an idiot like you.

You have been writing nonsense because I disagreed with an advice of yours even when I thanked you for giving the advice because it was the right thing to do.

Go straight to hell and try to become a better person yourself, stop bothering about other people hypocrite like you.

Let the respect you claimed you had for me purge you for ever, it is people like you that are very poisonous and petty, silly dog.

Nice one my brother, keep doing what you do best!!

Afam, at the beginning of this thread, I quite respected you and was critically concerned about what decisions you made and why you made them. I then wasted my time trying to debate reasonably with you. Now, unfortunately, you have turned yourself into a laughing stock. I would express my honest opinion, in that you should sift through this thread in your spare time, get rid of all the insults and attacks and guard jealously all the advices and tips given you so that it can in the long run, make you a better person.
Webmasters / Re: Website Review, Anyone? by damolat: 12:32pm On Mar 27, 2008
@Afam
I have one question: DO YOU THINK YOUR SITES HAVE GOOD DESIGN OR VERY POOR DESIGN.
and why do u think so Huh

your answer to the question will help many people out there
chaoo!!!

Maybe this would have been a better reply,

I think my sites have a poor design because I am a programmer and programmers are not meant to know anything about design, they are also not meant to employ good designers because they will steal our programming skills and run us out of business.
After all I have never told anyone on nairaland that I am the best designer in the world, I don't know where people are getting their foolish ideas from.
Thank you all.

No big deal if some extravagant developers can had code in Notepad but the bottom line is the end product or project delivery.

IMHO, I think it is a required skill, and not an extravagant practice, because every web developer should strive to be at the top. In high profile development projects, you realize that the development work is carried out by a team of variously skilled individuals. Front end developers, back end, testers, application developers, accessibility/usability implementation and all other various neccessary skills. Only a hardcoded website can allow for ease of interaction and comprehension between all these parties involved in the development process. To be more precise, issues like consistent naming conventions, spacing and ease of readability etc, and even when it gets to back end development, a lot of other issues make hardcoding a must. What do u think??
Webmasters / Re: Worst Website In Nigeria, Found? by damolat: 5:40pm On Mar 24, 2008
clients can be a pain at times, one needs to be able to strike a balance between satisfying them and making a decent turnaround on ones jobs.
Webmasters / Re: Ibs Nigeria - Review Website by damolat: 5:07pm On Mar 24, 2008
Thats a nice website my guy. Am sure you must have put a lot of careful thoughts to that design, from the fonts to the gradients, to the web 2.0 style boxes,
to the gray color of the copy text, well done.

The only thing I can say is that try a different color from that red, It just looks a bit too primary. Experiment with orange or lemon green.
Dude, am impressed man, I even see you have used css for your positioning instead of tables. Thats a good one, well done.

Cheers.

I believe any accomplished web designer should be able to use any software to generate their codes including notepad. However, if you need to do a speed job or feeling a bit lazy or new into the trade and want to use a wizard application, then dreamweaver is the preferred choice.

So my answer will be yea front page is good for developing websites.

Afam, there is no point taking you serious, goodbye.
Webmasters / Re: Website Review, Anyone? by damolat: 11:08am On Mar 22, 2008
Men afam, I think I must conclude that you are a bit too tilted to the attacking side, abeg cool down. I think this guy was just playing around with some SEO. At least give him benefit of the doubt before you start attacking him or ask. And also the comment I made about your site, it was a honest constructive opinion, you took it as an attack. Please take it easy.
Webmasters / Re: Website Review, Anyone? by damolat: 12:21pm On Mar 18, 2008
I personally am not a fan of primary colors(talking about the blue). I think you should use your design software to mix your colors properly (it takes time and a good eye) and u can even copy the color codes if you want to use them as css or whatever.

Also the fonts are not nice. Some fonts are just not nice and you need to know what fonts look nice for a particlar font size.

Also the red bar, same primary color problem. not mixed with any tint of black white or other complementary colors.

Structure, organisation and symmetry is ok but can be better.

And a professional conclusion is that this creator of this site is probably more of a programmer than a designer, as a matter of fact I don't see any design here, all the visual elements are generated by html/css.

HONEST OPINION.

Well I have been reading all the replies relating to this post and am a bit interested in this. I think y'all should stop criticizing this dude, and just understand the point of his discussion. If you know any guys making it big, why don't you tell us so we can learn from them. If you don't know, wait for others to post so you can also gain from it. All these criticisms just screams BEEF!! and that is not a good side.

Art, Graphics & Video / Heard Of Sitegrinder - Converts Photoshop Artwork Into Full Css And Xhtml Docs. by damolat: 3:22pm On Jul 17, 2007
Has anyone heard of this software, sitegrinder. You can design your websites in photoshop and it would convert your psd into a full fledges webstie using CSS and XHTML. you dont even need to know how to write html or css. It will do it all for you and even make it accessibility compliant.

I need reviews now if anyone has used it before as I am contemplating delving into the software.
