CareerRe: ICAN Has Rejected Me Again by danalyst(m): 12:50pm On Aug 02, 2007
"hmm ICAN? Jst like a cult, you need Mafians to get you through, just ask any Cum ICAN how he passed, he will explain to you everything, its CULTS".

Am so baffled that in the present age and time someone could post a thing like this. anyway, on my own experience, prayer, preparation and confidence did it. I qualified in 2004 having bagged the AAT certificate 24 months earlier, even without attending any lecture centre from the beginning to the end. are you saying am a cult? am under my 30. so if ICAN is a cult how come people pass even without knowing anyone?

my pal. go back to your books, exhaust the syllabus, acquire nothing less than 10 consecutive diets pass question on the stage you are writing, buy recommended books, create time to read on your own, and pray fervently, then your success come.

InvestmentRe: Stanbic Bank Premium Offer, Should Shareholders Sell? by danalyst(m): 10:17am On Aug 01, 2007
i think babaife has done well trying to explain from an objective position. i must however add that those that sell may not have the opportunity to share in the synergy that may accrue to ibtc in time to come. and to compensate them for the opportunity cost, stanbic is offering them value higher than the market value. this is possible when one consider that stanbic is buying into ibtc future earnings.

therefore i will pitch my tent with both babife and panadol that short term investors should sell while long term investors should hold on. you are either a short term or long term investor based on your investment strategy and motive for buying the shares.

cheers

PoliticsRe: Agusto, Lagos Ministerial Nominee Not Confirmed By Senate by danalyst(m): 7:19pm On Jul 25, 2007
i think agusto is not a politician. 2. why is it that those defending him are AC membrers in the house? he must have some undisclosed relationship with the AC. 3. KORO spent billions for the last gov election, he needs 'compensation". 4. agusto belong to Bode goerge camp, a camp whose strategy is not good enough to win election in lagos on THREE occassion.

notwithstanding, he is qualified to hold the office but for the afore mentioned reasons, he might just be advised to return back to AGUSTO & Co to keep nigerians abreast of the credit rating of our companies. in all, i wish him the best of luck in his future endeavour, cos I KNOW that YAR ADUA IS NOT BOLD ENOUGH TO RE-PRESENT HIM

PoliticsConstitution Amendment: Your Opinion by danalyst(op): 3:29pm On Jul 21, 2007
if i were to change one thing in nigeria's constitution, it would be the immunity clause. we have lost so much to corrupt leaders hiding under the clause. if you have the same opportunity what will you change?

PoliticsRe: Niger-delta Issues & Matters Arising by danalyst(m): 3:09pm On Jul 21, 2007
am not a niger deltan but i had my nysc in one of the states in the region. i could tell first hand the plight of these people and share in their grief. their adopted method of kidnap is one of the best method they could use to draw the attention of the world to the region, just the same way the middle east people adopted self bombing to achieve the same purpose.

however the recent trend and available evidence as shown that some of these so called militants are insincere with the struggle, they kidnap to request for ransom what a crime against humanity. worse still is the kidnap of young innocent children. i believe that the time is ripe for them to down thier weapons till the time the liberty of their people will be paramount in thier heart again just like in 1995- during the ken saro wiwa era

PoliticsRe: Why Isn't Efcc Probing Obasanjo by danalyst(m): 2:52pm On Jul 21, 2007
yes, how can the slave probe his master? nuhu ribadu told us that some people took about 200 million naira loan from UBA to buy transcorp shares for baba, but he doesn't know them?haba, what prima facie evidence do we need again? abacha loot couldn't be accounted for, refineries stolen and sold to cronies, account was 20,000 in 1999 but about 180 billion naira in 2008!, harboured adedibu for his recklessness and corrupt practice in ibadan, supported the illegal removal of peter obi in anambra, spent over 90 billion dollars on electricity yet no light, billions of naira meant for road repairs in 8 years gone down the drain, the list is endless my fellow country men and women
PoliticsRe: Should Babangida Be Put On Trial by danalyst(m): 2:40pm On Jul 21, 2007
leave the man alone ooooo. he has been told and shown to him that nigeria is bigger than him. he could be dealt with at any time the govt so pleases. lets tease ourselves- why was he shown the way out of the presidential race, if he is still relevant in nigeria? the man is just enjoying espirit de corp just like the likes of gen. T. Y Danjuma among others
PoliticsRe: Is Politics A Do Or Die Affair? by danalyst(m): 2:32pm On Jul 21, 2007
though i believe in conservative politics, i cannot deny the existence of machiavellist politicians that believe all threats to your goals should be eliminated, oppressed and suppressed. politics is like a game of chess you eliminate your opponents and capture the king then you win. this politics is not peculiar to nigeria but the breakdown of law and order in this country is what makes it look like NIGERIANISM (nigerian idea of politics is to eliminate opponents)
PoliticsRe: When Is Atiku Going To Be Arrested? by danalyst(m): 2:22pm On Jul 21, 2007
i tried to analyze mamajama's comment especially from the point of law. 1. has atiku ever admitted stolen anything? my response no. even efcc has not been bold enough to present any indictive evidence against him. 2. as any of the ptdf fund be traced to his account? again no. the efcc has failed to establish that. 3. the approval for the 20 million dollars being the ONLY prima facie evidence against him was indeed approved by the minister of finance- Ngozi iwealla and CBN governor duly informed. assuming but not conceeding, that atiku approved the money, was the money utilized for his personal and selfish interest? again no because the money was never released. the law does not speculate.

InvestmentRe: Is The Nigerian Stock Market Truly Efficient? by danalyst(m): 7:08pm On Jul 20, 2007
while i agree with ideas360 that the stock is most times determined by growth prospect, i must say that the NSE is sot efficient. how do i mean? there are basically two schools of thought that have argued on what determines price at the stock market, while the first posited on overall decision made by sufficient rational investors with adequate information on both the company and the market, the other school has argued that investors behaviour through speculation, blockhead etc can lead to price increase.

though the two schools combine to determine the price of stock, that does not put the NSE in the rank of effecient market in the world. in US when worldcom confessed the accounts window dress sometime in 2002, the stock market was so shocked and affected negatively that the house of common and house of lords jointly passed the famous sarbanes oxley act 2002 to protect the american investors. in nigeria, same thing happened to cadbury nigeria but the market was not moved an inch. instaed of cadbury price depression, the reverse was the case.

personally, am of the opinion that what determines share price in nigeria is not the available information to rational investors but speculation and propaganda combined with mgt accumulation of own shares. time will definitely vindicate us

cheers.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Worth N180 Billion by danalyst(m): 6:49pm On Jul 20, 2007
i quite agree with mamajana that because the man declared his assets does not mean he won't loot our treasury. we should ask: where did he get the assets declared? he was a lecturer that earn little or nothing. he was a gov for 8yrs. how did he come about the assets declared?. thats when we will be able to say whether he is trustworthy or not
PoliticsRe: When Is Atiku Going To Be Arrested? by danalyst(m): 6:37pm On Jul 20, 2007
what has the man stolen? all filmsy excuses given by the obj extended family- EFCC are unfounded and unverifiable. no concrete evidence has been produced to show that atiku is guilty of the allegations. however, why not ask when will obj be dealt with? who bought the 200 million shares in transcorp for him? why did he sell and receive payment for the sale of the refineries 2days to the end of his administartion? why did he make the last election a do or die, if he's truly upright and has no skeleton in his cupboard?

obj should be arrested and prosecuted now.

BusinessRe: How To Get A Loan? by danalyst(m): 6:09pm On Jul 20, 2007
naija banks do give loans. they give to both the starters and the established. but while the established enjoy lower interest rate, the starters pay higher rate due the higher risk of default. before starters get the loans, they are usually scrutinized and the viability of the biz crtically appraised. the cashflow is properly analysed and security (collateral) downwardly evaluated.

at the end, you may be disappointed by the banks. however, a good research and homework could land you the loan. but will your biz generate the cash inflow to pay back the loan in a short term? cos the banks would not tie down their capital on your biz. if not look elsewhere for your finances.
