On a negative note: American Gayism and Lesbianism culture will now be fully integrated into the Nigerian culture as most American movies, reality shows and soap opera must those act. Since most Africans are reluctant to embrace homosexuality, this is a good avenue to brain-watch Africans. How can we escape this?
What difference does it make since u use your own money to buy both normal and seasonal movies that encourage such act. This will make a lil diff
EducationWhy Don't We Call Them By Their Offical Names? by Danbam(op):
Please moderators, u can kindly help move to d appropriate section, if I've wrongly posted this.

Good day everyone, this has been on my mind for sometimes now, it’s something I experienced during my secondary school, undergraduate as well as post graduate days and I’m sure quite a number of us can relate to this as well. I wouldn’t know if there’s any particular reason why this has become the norm in our educational institutions and society as a whole. It’s about the way we call our teachers and lecturers.

I noticed something back in secondary school days that whenever we want to call our teachers, we call them “excuse me sir”, “excuse me ma” “sir”, or “ma” instead of calling them Mr. Bassey or Ms. Edet (their official names). I guess this was generally thought to be the right name to call them, even in higher Institutions.

I was perplexed when a friend of mine addressed my Departmental Head as “H.O.D” (which of course is his post and could be addressed that way), only for him (the H.O.D) to tell him (my friend) he’s being rude and he’s not permitted to call him that, that only members of staff are allowed to call him that.

Now my concern and question is this, is this trend right or better still, how should we call our teachers and lecturers ?

The best advice advice in this scenario is dat d guy shl break up with her and move on, one year (and counting) of breaking up with her ex, she's still emotionally attached. I've been down this road before and i can say it hurt (seeing that uve sacrificed alot for the lady in question). Of course i asked her to choose btw me and d ex, she obviously chose me kos d ex aint physcially present. The situation would have been complicated as well as interesting if the three of us were physically present (babe, ex and i) and then ask her to choose. Well, longstory short, we broke up eventually.

Dude, save urslf the pain and heart ache now!!!

CareerRe: Now That I Got A Job I Am Now Confused. by Danbam(m): 3:32pm On Aug 18, 2015
@op,u r in a dilemma that many people would love to be and quickly make decisions without thinking through. Its actually good u asking dir suggestions, but in the end u r doin to make ur decision yourself which prolly might be influenced by what people say here.
Most of the responses here has been a shorts sighted response.
Now the question I will like u to ask and answer yourself, sincerely is: What's ur career prospect? What do u aim to achieve in the long-term? Do u c yourself working in an engineering firm or working as a lecturer (cuz I c u wrote something on spending on attending conferences, travelling, tests, interviews, and scholarship applications for Ph.D abroad--signs of u aiming to work in a higher institution)?
Well the answer above should determine your next line of action. And MOST IMPORTANTLY,don't neglect God,He took u this far. God help u.

You don't have a problem, you've just been applying for the wrong jobs.

What you need to do is start being selective of the kind of jobs you apply for.

I rarely send applications to the big Dogs The Total, Shell, Chevron, Saipem,NLNG, and the likes rarely get applications from me grin. Even when I reluctantly do, I just lock up. Because the reality is that they rarely give you a feedback on your application.

what then Do I do?

I apply to the relatively small-big not too known companies grin, because most times I get a feedback (usually positive) due to the small pool of candidate I wrestle with.

In less than a year to the glory of God, I have followed this ridiculous route and I have not just gotten over 10 Apptitude Test invitations, but also gotten to the interview stage of about 7 different companies.

As you can guess, where I work now is a Small-Big not too known company in Lekki. I applied on a Tuesday, got a call on Wednesday to come for an interview on Thursday. Convinced the HR I was good enough and she asked when I can resume. I told her Monday cheesy
Your story us quite interesting and fascinating....was dia an advertised vacancy ir just a random CV submission on their Ste?

Hell no.
Did Samson cut his hair ??
The western brought the so called religion to Africa but in America you will see a 70 year old man with dreadlocks or ponytail.
Why are Africans so over sensitive about way of life ??
In american you see cops, pastors, doctors with tattoos
Hey,y u sounding so naiive. The bible is silent about haircut but talked about how we should be dressed (I believe hair is also part of dressing...sure females will agree with me on this). The way we dress (and cut our hair) is the way we r going to be addressed. Morally, in an African setting,we all know the acceptable hairstyle u can cut as a guy. If u ain't naturally dreadlocked, can u put on that or the ponytail to an interview ? What is wrong is wrong.
U were also talking about pastors et al in tattoos and dreadlocks...we also have gay pastors ....does it mean dey r right?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Push CV Elite Employee Quest 2015 by Danbam(m): 7:57am On Aug 07, 2015
Jagabanthelion:
I've gone through most comments here and am not too impressed. For a start,am a 4 star Elite too but I have a few question for the SCAM ALARMISTS on every thread.
1. Did Pushcv force u to apply or entice u with monetary gains if u apply?
2. Didn't u read the terms and conditions or are u not conversant with the principle of 'offer' and 'acceptance' ?
3. Has pushcv breached any of their terms stated? Really? Did they promise u jobs outrightly or they promised to put the successful finalists out there for the best companies to see them and take decisions?
4. If they promised jobs at the point of application, did u apply with a CV for them to know the exact industry, company, specifications and qualifications to place you? For me,I only remember applying wit my name and email address. My CV was only requested as I made progress. Point is,not everyone who applied got to submit their CVs. Pushcv asked for your IQ,not your CV.
5. If they didn't promise jobs outrightly, and they have recommended u to companies. Is it also their duty to force companies to recruit through Pushcv rather than through their age long normal recruitment process? Even if a coy chooses to use consultants for recruitment, they would rather use dragnet or workforce. Pushcv is still new n needs time to make a name for themselves so as to win companies' trust and confidence.
6. For the CV rewrite payment part, was it optional or compulsory? For the records,I didn't pay a dime and yet,I scaled through all stages. Jobberman has been sending me dis "incredible" offer to rewrite my CV with them for N8000. Pushcv only GAVE AN OPTION to those who wish to, for just N1000 and someone is screaming SCAM! Anoda even estimated that pushcv made like N1.5m from the CV rewrite and so its a scam. And am like,do u know how much was used to set-up that pushcv online portal?Including the CV experts that went through thousands of CVs? Including the tests and emails they organised in abt 4 stages for over 4000 applicants?Their servers that need to refresh pages and questions for thousands of candidates? Do u go through all that just to scam people of a measly N1.5m?An amount I even doubt they got up to.
7. In conclusion,I believe pushcv is only trying to create a pool in "Interview ready" candidates for companies as a way of rivaling dragnet and co. who still need to advertise, wait for application deadlines to expire, conduct tests and CBTs for millions of applicants in different parts of the country before they get to interview stage. Some companies need competent candidates as quick as possible for straight interviews and pushcv has seen an opportunity in that gap. Let's try not to rubbish great entrepreneural ideas by screaming scam on whatever we don't fathom or whenever a process has not favoured us in time. Peace. No insults intended but bashing is allowed.
Sorry o,just came to my mind now...what about the union bank graduate trainee thy put up a link for weeks back....has anybody heard from them?
