This are indeed not the best times for koko master, and has a matter of fact this is the first time I am hearing D’banj being in a mess over money. Now a Technology company, MindHub Technologies is claiming D’banj is owing them the sum of $ 240,000,000 and another N15,000,000, which the artiste has not denied but issued them post-dated cheques which were bounced back. MindHub Technologies who now speaks with D’banj through their lawyers after all efforts made by them for him to pay proved abortive said D’banj has only deemed it fit since last year to pay only N8,600,000 out of the N15,000,000 and has not paid a single penny form the $240,000,000. “We act as Solicitors to MINDHUB TECHNOLOGIES LTD (hereinafter called “OUR CLIENT”), and on whose instruction we write you this letter in the manner stated hereunder. It is our brief that sometime in January 2013 in Lagos, you signed a Personal Guarantee/Memorandum of Undertaking with our client wherein you agreed/ undertook to pay our client the investment fund of N100,000,000.00k (One Hundred Million Naira Only) given to D KINGS MEDIA LIMITED by our client, should the latter default in payment of the debt. The said debt is made up of Nigerian and United States of America’s currencies,” the letter addressed to him stated. The case is already in a Lagos high court and due for hearing, why it has been almost impossible for months now to serve D’banj, because he has been outside the country, while some however claim the major reason D’banj has been in the US is because he does not want to be served. Whatever that means we hope they settle this fast. Source.... www.news2.onlinenigeria.com/headline/388342-d-banj-dragged-to-court-over-debt-mess.html Source.... www.sunnewsonline.net

5)OLAMIDE, WIZKID AND LINDA IKEJI : Earlier this year, Linda put up a post of Olamide expecting a second child and Olamide took to twitter to deny that he was expecting any child and rave at Linda calling her oloshi, hater and all sorts. Wizkid too tweeted “Awon oloshi united!! o ma baje fun gbogbo won” as at the time Olamide was blasting Linda ikeji and Olamide retweeted it. Linda who wasn’t the first to put up the post took to her blog to say that Olamide has been waiting for the right time to lash at her.

4)WIZKID AND SAEON Earlier this year, Saeon and Wizkid were on a track together which received massive airplay and seemed to be a hit. All things seemed good with both of them till Saeon tweeted that wizkid collected 1.5M from her and still couldn’t get wizkid to retweet hype for her song for her. Wizkid replied saying both of them ain’t friends and it was basically a business deal both of them struck and that he was not obliged to help her with the hype of the song.

3)Don Jazzy and Wande Coal: Virtually one year ago, Wande Coal released a song, Babyface, and immediately, Mavin boss, Donjazzy, tweeted that Wande Coal stole the song which he had previously recorded and that he could take him down if he wanted to and that all he wanted was his credits. What a lot of people did not know is that Wande coal already left Mavin records silently and had already started his own record label. This feud later led to the official drop of Wande Coal from Mavin Records.

2) YVONNE NELSON AND LINDA IKEJI The feud started when Linda Ikeji wrote on her blog that Yvonne Nelson and Iyanya were on set for a new movie which probably was not true and Yvonne Nelson took to twitter to tell Linda Ikeji to take down the supposed false post and Linda confirmed that it was Yvonne Nelson and her team that sent the information to her and that it was false and that Yvonne Nelson just wanted to be noticed. Linda Ikeji’s sister, Laura, backed up her sister and also tweeted that 80% of Yvonne’s post are from or her team directly.

1) DAVIDO AND WIZKID We won’t be fair without opening this post without putting the beef of the year. Davido and Wizkid are two of the most respected artistes outside Nigeria and both got engaged in a tweet fight. It all started when Wizkid put a picture of him in front of a venue for one of his shows in New York on instagram and put the caption “Just landed NYC! Let’s turn up! We do proper shows and proper venues” which Davido took as a shade at him as regards to a show he did prior to that time in New York. Both went on dissing each other on twitter and instagram. They also caused a controversy amongst their fans. Both say they are cool with each other now tho.

My best group was style plus...if u miss them like this. |
The Remedies: In the 90s, the defunct hip hop group, The remedies, was a household name in the Nigerian music industry. At that time, there were very few artistes who could compete with them, considering their novelty and vigour. The group was made up Idris (now Eedris Abdulkareem) the rapper, Tony Tetuila the (sideliner and rhyme maker) and Eddie Remedy, the melodymaker.
7) Trybesmen: The Nigerian group consisted of Eldee, Kaboom and Freestyle. Their first album was released in 1999 and received good airplay. Their hit singles included Trybal Marks and Shake Bodi. Freestyle and Eldee went on to release solo albums after the split of their group but it was only Eldee that kept on making an impact in the music industry
6) Maintain: The Nigerian group consists of Tolu, Olu and Big Bamo. The trio rocked with hit songs such as I catch cold and Nibo la wa gbe lo from the late 90s right up to 2005 before they split. Only Olu maintain is still doing music now with hits like Olu in Brazil, Nawti and Yahooze.
5) Mo’hits: The Nigerian group was co-owned by Micheal “Donjazzy” Collins and Dapo “D’Banj” Oyebanjo. It consisted of artistes like Wande Coal, D’Prince, Dr. Sid and K-Switch. The group broke up due to irreconcilable differences between D’Banj and Donjazzy and has birthed two record labels, Mavin Records and DB records.
4)Styl-Plus: The Nigerian group was formerly STYL which consists of singers Shiffi, Tunde, Yemi and Lanre. but Lanre died, and Yemi left the group to pursue his career. They became Styl- Plus with the addition of Zeal. The group gained a space in the music industry when they dropped the single Olufunmi which received massive airplay around Nigeria. They dropped three albums following their dominance in the music industry but has become defunct since their last album. Tunde also left the group and went solo.
3) Zule Zoo: Zule Zoo broke into the industry with the huge success of their song “kerewa” which was banned by the government due to obscene content in the song. Mike and Ibrahim Al-Hassan have since gone solo dropping a couple of singles with none being an actual hit.
2) KC Presh: The name was coined from both member’s names which are Kingsley and Precious. The Nigerian group broke out when they won the Star Quest and since then went on to record a couple of songs after which they both decided to do solo albums and since then, the group has broken up.

There were music groups that thrilled us as far back as the 90s with their melodious tunes. And while their fans hoped they would remain together, it was not meant to be as the music groups all disbanded due to one reason or the other. Check out our list of the top eight music groups split up: 1) Plantashun Boys: The Nigerian group was made up of 2face, Faze and Black face. The group reigned in the music industry between the late 90s and the early 2000s. They performed together earlier this year at a live performance in Festac Town.

1. WizKid At number 1, and having the largest following on social media is the Star Boy himself, WizKid. He has the most twitter followers of any Nigerian celebrity at 1.3 million, his facebook is at just under 1 million, and instagram at 412k. WizKid always seems to be in the news, and a good number of times it comes from one of his social media outlets. He’s always posting, and every now and then will put out that controversial update that makes the blog headlines.
2. Davido Nigerian artist of the year? Debatable but it’s hard to argue that he has a ridiculous following on social media with just about 1 million on both twitter, and facebook, and about 408k on instagram. Plus he never shies away from telling it as it is which gets him to trend pretty often.
3. Dbanj Now from a social media influence perspective you wouldn’t expect Dbanj to have a lot of followers seeing as he’s relatively quiet on those platforms. However it’s hard to argue against the fact that Dbanj is one of the biggest names in African entertainment. His twitter numbers are at 982k (just under a million), facebook at 1.1 million and instagram at 76k.
4. Omotola Jalade Ekeinde Omosexy as she’s popularly referred to as has the most facebook likes of any Nigerian celebrity at 1.8 million. Now that’s a huge fan base. She also doesn’t shy away from interacting with fans on twitter and instagram where she boasts of 513k, and 119k followers respectively.
5. P-Square Africa’s dynamic duo P-Square clock in at #5, and though it’s hard to calculate their combined twitter and instagram following (Paul – 300k & 93k, Peter – 714k & 192k), their facebook official page is at whopping 1.6 million! They are one of Africa’s biggest acts over the past decade. Why wont they have such numbers.
6. Don Jazzy If you want to talk about the most influential celebrity on twitter, then look no further than Don Jazzy himself. Surprisingly he doesn’t have the most followership but I’m willing to bet all his followers are super loyal. He’s constantly engaging, giving freebies, and joining in trends. His numbers 962k on twitter, 719k on faceook, and 270k on instagram are not small numbers.
7. Tonto Dike Tonto Dike surprisingly has a massive following on social media, more especially on facebook where she has 1.29 million likes. Add that to the 494k followers on twitter, and the 118k on instagram, it’s easy to see that hate her or love her, she’s got a huge following on social media. Poko wins!
8. Genevieve Nnaji One of Nollywood’s finest, Genevieve Nnaji has a massive following that includes 708,000 followers on twitter, 283,000 on instagram, and 802,000 on facebook. She’s very well known on instagram for posting all kinds of stylish trends and such.
