Despite some military sources claiming the man beheaded in the Boko Haram video is unknown to them, friends of Wing Commander Chimda Hedima have paid him tribute. They also told the story of how the brave young man killed as many Boko Haram men as he could, knowing he would be captured. See the tribute below… ❝ On 11/09/14, a company of NA soldiers attempted to overrun a Boko Haram position in Borno. Due to the low altitude, the plane suffered significant damage from the terrorists’ gun fire. Wing Commander Hedima & his partner realized that they were going to crash. ❝ Instead of hurriedly parachuting to safety within Nigerian controlled territory, they chose to embark on a mission to destroy as many terrorists and their weapons as possible. They parachuted out at the last minute but not before ensuring their plane slammed into a column of terrorists in which 63 Boko Haram members were killed as a result of their bravery. Wing Commander Hedima was captured. ❝ On 12/09/14, he was killed by the Boko Haram. He chose Nigeria, he chose all of us. We cannot forget him. Please share his story. His name should be known by everyone. ❝ Rest In Peace Commander, we are grateful. May you find eternal peace in the bosom of the almighty God. Now this brave soldier deserves a posthumous award.

The Gunners boss is keen to "put right" last season's 6-0 defeat, while Jose Mourinho has played down his unbeaten record against the Frenchman Arsene Wengeris looking to get revenge for last season’s 6-0 hammering as Arsenalprepare to face Chelseaat Stamford Bridge on Sunday. In the Frenchman's 1,000th game at the helm in March, Chelsea ran riot in west London, going four goals up inside 42 minutes before netting another two past a stunned 10-man Arsenal outfit. In 11 games against sides managed by Jose Mourinho, Wenger has lost six and drawn five, but the Arsenal boss is keen to make amends for last season's comprehensive defeat. "It was not a bad day, it was a horrendous day for us and we never forget that day," Wenger said in Friday's media conference. "We have an opportunity to put it right and of course are hugely determined, with a big hunger, to put that right. "I'm confident we'll take the chance to do it. Football is not made of history, football is made of performance." Wenger could welcome back Nacho Monreal from injury and into a defence that will likely need to keep a close eye on Chelsea striker Diego Costa. The Spain international has adapted swiftly to life in England's top flight and has eight goals to his name after six Premier League appearances. "I'm impressed by how well has done and he has all the aspects of a striker you like," Wenger continued. "He has a killer determination. You feel, 'he's a killer this guy'. He has that in him." While Wenger wants his Arsenal side - who along with Mourinho's men are the only two unbeaten teams remaining in the Premier League this season - to make amends for their hammering at the hands of Chelsea, his opposite number is not reading too much into the result. Mourinho, who will be without Didier Drogba (ankle) and Ramires (groin), is also not convinced his record against Wenger is worth paying much attention to. "The 6-0 is once every 50 years, it is not year after year," he said. "It's something that happens occasionally, it's once in a life, it's not normal. "Chelsea versus Arsenal is normally close, it happened once. A bad day for them, an unbelievable day for us." Mourinho has plenty of previous with Wenger, characterised by the Portuguese's jibe at the Arsenal boss being a "specialist in failure" last season. The Chelsea manager is eager to move on from the spat and suggested their rivalry would not be relevant in the context of the fixture. "Me against Wenger...I never had the chance to play one-on-one. Not even beach soccer or anything," he joked. "I never had the pleasure, it was always Chelsea versus Arsenal. Even that doesn't play an important part in Sunday's game."

Fastest way to secure a good job in Nigeria. Belong to a terror group, and surrender. Amnesty awaits u |
This is becoming so annoying after so many years of creating commotion and trouble, killing thousands of innocent souls and raping as well. 12 soldiers are sentence to death for mutiny because of these same terrorists and now the trouble makers lay their arms down and the Federal Government is taking them for rehabilitation, training and later obtain good government jobs with no penalty for their misdeeds. Is the federal government not encouraging terrorism at the highest order, what would you do to surrendered boko haram if you were FG? |

Its quite unfortunate that this epidemic could deteriorate our school schedule and academic section. I stay in Kaduna state,i noticed so many pupils are been sent home and few schools are teaching. What is at stake for these pupils as they continue to roam about the street and insecurity concern. The other states where normal academic activities will not resume are Rivers, Oyo, Ekiti, Osun, Benue, Niger, Zamfara, Adamawa, Kano, Kwara, Kogi, Akwa Ibom and Ebonyi states. Teachers in Lagos will be on duty today but pupils will remain at home until October 8. There had been controversy over the directive by the Federal Government that schools should resume on September 22 since the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease had been contained in the country. The Nigeria Union of Teachers however ordered its members to shun academic activities until the government provided gadgets in schools to ensure not only their safety but that of their pupils. Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, after meeting on Sunday with public school headteachers, said the decision was to ensure that schools in the state were safe for both the teachers and their pupils. He said, “On this issue of resumption, we are on the same side. We are all concerned about safety in the schools. What is happening in your area? |
Days after she came out of the rubbles of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), South African Lindiwe Ndwandwe finally recounted her five-day ordeal, revealing that she survived on her urine. Ndwandwe attributed her rescue to her faith in God. According to her, she survived by drinking her urine after she got dehydrated. She said: “I was trapped in the toilet for five days. I was hungry and thirsty throughout my stay there. I couldn’t even move so I was just lying down because there was no leg or headroom to move around.” Rescue operations had been ongoing for four days when she walked out unaided on the fifth day at about 2 am last week Tuesday after excavation had been done in the section where she was trapped. She said: “I was about to eat when I decided to visit the restroom. When I was there, I heard this noise and then the ceiling of the toilet came crumbling down. “I heard people praying but I was alone in that place. I tried to sleep but it was difficult. It was through a hole that I knew whether it was day or night. “On the third day, I knew they were rescuing people because I stopped hearing the voices of my neighbours.” On how she survived, she said: “Remember I was about to eat when I decided to visit the rest room. When I was hungry, it was then I started having a conversation with God. Anytime I was hungry or thirsty and I told God, I will just fall asleep. On the fourth day, I was becoming weaker. “And I was more thirsty. It then occurred to me that the only thing to do was to drink my urine. But I couldn’t even do that because I was lying on my side and the ceiling was hanging over me. “So I removed my vest from my neck, put it round my legs and urinated on it. The same urine-soaked vest was what I sucked on anytime I got thirsty.” On how she was rescued, she said she heard two men arguing on whether to dig where she was or not and when they did, she came out alive with a few bruises on her arms. She said: “When I was rescued and I called my husband, the only thing he could say was thank God. I could hear the loud shouts of my family rejoicing in the background.”

Ladies, not every guy is a member of the lucky club. Not every poor guy today is worth investing in. Some are simply hopeless and will never hit it big. Some are purely millionaires in the making. But to spare you from waking up one morning realizing you’ve invested your time, effort and youth for nothing, here’s the rule of thumb I’ve used to sift out good penny stocks. 1. He knows he is good at something. Knowing his worth is usually the first step towards wealth creation. Baby-sitting, baking, gardening or whatever so long as he recognizes that the skills he honed are exchangeable for money. 2. He is self-disciplined. He has the ability to concentrate on future financial goals without swaying from everyday tasks that will lead him there. No matter how boring or unpleasant. 3. He blames himself, not others. He thinks it’s always his fault. Either partially or entirely. It might seem a little sadistic but it’s him actually knowing that he has control over his environment, decisions and ultimately his own future. 4. He lives below his means. It doesn’t mean he’s a miser. He chooses to accumulate more wealth rather than to succumb to short-lived pleasures of buying a Rolex or a BMW. Someone in the relationship has to make this sacrifice at the beginning. If not him, who else? 5. He is a doer. He doesn’t blabber on and on about how he is going to do something great. He just does it. He doesn’t complain about doing stuff. He just does it. 6. He is extremely curious. He takes time and effort to figure out the nuts and bolts of why things work or don’t work. Opportunity sometimes arises when he stumbles upon an unserved niche. 7. He is thick skinned. He has the balls to execute his crazy plans. Whatever they may be. Failure doesn’t concern him. Or should i say he isn’t afraid of being laughed at if he didn’t succeed. He repeats 6 and tries again. Investing in men is largely based on intrinsic value. You’ll win some and you’ll lose some. But when you do win, make sure you win big. So good luck ladies. May the dating market be forever bullish. |
