Your selection will see us get whipped, Violated and mashed up. Starting from the defence:

This is athletic power football ⚽ Omeruo ( expired drug) will get overpowered, outpaced ( slow) and out jumped and bullied. I remember how he got destroyed by Cameroon the last time.

CB's have to be Ekong and Bassey ( Afang with pounded yam) eee no get contest. Aina is deceptively fast and strong with football intelligence and arguably the best passing and crossing range in the entire BB team that's both left and right feet. Zaidu all brawn and no brains I'll play Aina LB and Osayi RB.

Alhassan be like fowl that breeze go carry go. He has no physicality and poor stamina and not enough inventive creative technicality, add to that he is short no aerial ability it's over against Cameroon with tall midfielders a big liability.

Raphael is a very strong immobile brick 🧱 wall that has zero creativity, Onyeka is much more mobile they offer very little inventiveness and creativity they are both water 💦 carriers but the best is Frank ( great stamina)

Forwards only two choices without question Ademola and VO, who should play wing Simon or Chukwueze, I don't know both have different issues and they can't cross consistently with quality. Poor end product.

Midfield has to be Iwobi (AM) plus Aribo and Onyeka with a bit more creativity coming from Aribo.

It's going to be a long hard day , Cameroon are fired up .

Creativity coming from Aribo, lol. Alhassan doesn't have stamina, lol...

"struggling for relevance, underperforming for the past two seasons" Iheanacho for Nigeria in last 7 months:

vs Sierra Leone ⚽
vs Sao Tome 🅰️
vs Saudi Arabia ⚽
vs Lesotho 🅰️
vs Zimbabwe ⚽

He started only twice, scored or assisted in every appearance.

Komekn as usual is doing his best to rubbish Iheanacho... Somebody is in form in the national team, but you're trying to downplay his importance because he isn't scoring frequently in some overrated second division..

The boy isn't wise if he eventually decides to rep Algeria... He will be an easy target for their fans when things go south.
Algerians are very vocal on social media o... According to stats I checked from the last AFCON, citizens from Algeria were the most active on social media during that period... Even this AFCON,their match post gets the most reaction on CAF page... I started taking note of them when they invaded Leicester city Facebook page to demand for Mahrez to leave the club

Stop begging foreign based players
Properly scout for players in NPFL and improve them
What’s this BS I hear about going to beg olise

When it seemed like we were gonna beg odemwinge to play for us in Afcon
But Keshi picked a few decent & hungry players from the local league and won Afcon.

Why can’t they pick a few local quality guys and groom them with friendlies before the next Afcon in Morocco

Isn’t that the blueprint Keshi used

I don't know how many times it has to be said, but using local players in the national team comes with my problem..
After like 2 or 3 games, these players and their agents will be looking for clubs in obscure leagues like Moldova, Sri Lanka, Cambodia,etc.. will you still invite them? Obviously not.. you will have to call up replacements for them...and then the cycle goes on..

Keshi winning the AFCON with local players was a masterstroke, but in the long run, it didn't last...
Our league, and indeed the country is a bigger mess than during Keshi time and as such, everybody wants to japa.. There is this guy who was leading the NPFL scoring chart this season, but guess what, he is now playing in Libya..

I think Peseiro has shown us that standing behind his players is his forte.

I believe he was thinking "We are winning, CIV are having their asses handed to them, Osimhen is desperate to score. Let me leave him"

It's a good thing to stand behind his players... It's also not a good thing for him to make his other players feel less important...

Anyway, I hope we don't have a repeat of Eguavon case against Tunisa and Ghana in Abuja when we had to throw in all our strikers in the dying minutes in an attempt to get a goal...

Contrary to some of the takes I have seen here, I don't think Osimhen needs to be pulled off, rather, he needs to be partnered up.

There was a pass he gave inside the 18-yard box in that game and nobody was there to receive it, if Kelechi was there, it would have been an easy tap in. Our players lack positioning, the 4th goal EQG scored, was basically from a rebound shot and it was because a player was there to capitalise.

Our team has no such player. I have lost count of how many times I have asked why players are not in positions to poach goals. Their positioning is shit, and people like Chukwueze don't know when to release a pass. Hell, I even saw them dodging a pass. How you go stand, dodge pass? Why will you allow a ball you could have easily kicked into the box, to go into corner?

There is a serious coaching problem with this team and it is clear Peseiros has no idea how to use attackers. You watch how good the attacks are in so many of these AFCON games and it just makes you pissed.

We have not had any decent goal in a tournament filled with spectacular goals. Our play has been lethargic, our attack abysmal and it is 65% a coaching problem.

You couldn't have said it better..
This is just Rohr football all over again.. some people might think its cute to play ugly defensive football and win, until your opponent score you first and you can't find your way back in because you haven't mastered the act of attacking football

Missing chances is still an issue with this team...
I wonder what's the problem.. Osimhen has been the biggest culprit so far..

Frankly,I was surprised Peseiro didn't bring on Iheanacho and Moffi late into the game..

Going forward,we need more ball playing CBs.. you can't be playing a lean midfield and then have your CB doing backwards, sideways and wayward long passes...

I really would have loved a repeat of the 433. We created loads of chances with that formation and would have won if not for wastefulness.

The 343 seems to give us less chances going forward.

You know, if we had converted our chances against Equatorial Guinea and won, Peseiro would have stuck with 4-3-3 against CIV...

Maybe this 3-4-3 will do the trick once we master it... But I'm really not a fan of it..

Can Sallah cross ?
Does Sallah cross with his right foot ?

I don't understand why people are expecting Chukwueze and Iheanacho to be crossing the ball when playing on the right wing..They are predominantly left footers... Their style is to cut into the middle from the flanks...

Abeg refresh my memory. Apart from the friendly against Argentina, I can't remember Rohr playing a 3-4-3 in any competitive match.

Rohr didn't even use 3-4-3. It was 3-5-2 or 5-3-2.. I believe he used the formation in some games aside that Argentina game... But mostly, post 2019 AFCON,he stuck with 4-4-2, 4-2-4 and 4-4-1-1...

I was of the opinion that in the making of the AFCON squad, we didn't need 4 wingers considering Osayi is a natural winger. This would have given room for an extra CB or CF

That our defence is stacked with versatile players who have proven they can play more than one position effectively..
Aina: RB, LB, RWB, LWB
Bassey: LB, CB, LWB
Awazeim: CB, RB
Osayi- RB, RW
Ajayi- CB, DM(Although he was terrible the last time he played there in the GWG)

Dude are you listening to yourself 🤔

Obvious reasons 😮 Eze, Olise, Zaha, are technically gifted players. Irrespective of the whatever team KC plays in technically gifted is not word I would use to describe him.

Decent finisher good technique but not exceptional yes. Boniface, Ademola, Iwobi, Aina, Chukwueze are technically more gifted than him.

If VO was not performing in club and league he would not be in the SE. His continuous top performance in club have kept him in the SE not just past glories.

This is why comparison is made continuously about players in the HERE and NOW to see who might give the best quality in the national team. Not because he did it before he can do it again.

Consider that Nathan Tella scored 17 goals in the Championship which KC is struggling to get recognition in. I would not say that KC is more technically gifted than Nathan Tella and or clinical add to the mix KC is not match fit after coming back from injury.

In the most recent game Iheanacho played for us, he scored . So which past glory are you exactly talking about?

Trent is arguably one of the best RB plus midfield players in the world his end product simple stunning.

What is KC 😮 nothing by comparison to Trent.

Emotive prejudice don make dey draw imaginative comparisons...
If Southgate could borrow a leaf from Klopp's book by using Trent in midfield,he can do the same for Stones at DM... Nothing justifies Philips continuous invitation in the England team..

Stones is a CB for England already.

Maybe you haven't noticed but Pep Guardiola is not the Manager of England and he is entitled to his preference.

Excluding the emotive favouritism surrounding Harry Maguire. When a player doesn't perform in club and league you get dropped.

Nobody is going to say you were good before therefore you will be good again. The question is howuch better will the in form club player be for the national team than the out of form player like KC.

You have anchored ⚓ your entire rationality on favouritism, double standard and conflicting preferences.

Has IGHALO not been exceptional for the SE why was he not invited ,he is doing it for both club and league in the HERE and NOW.

You mentioned Maguire..what about Kalvin Philips? What prompted his continual invitation to the English national team?

Comodo already dropped Iheanacho stats for the super eagles.. 15 goals and 8 assists in 49 games... Thats more than justified..

Youre talking about Ighalo that's playing in a league you would murder another player for playing in.. Wasn't Ighalo given another chance with the super eagles for that world cup qualifier game against Ghana.. what did he do?

My view is that if your cannot do it in your club and league then it's unlikely you can do it in the national team.

He doesn't justify his position either as a forward player striker or AM. He is not even fit.

The question ⁉️ is how much better would an in firm player be than a makeshift like KC.

Club and national team are never the same... Your performance at club level will earn you an invitation to the national team, but it is your performance in the national team that will keep you in the national team..
Iheanacho has justified his stay in the national team by every standard..
You may not want to admit it for obvious reasons, but Iheanacho is ne of the most technically gifted player in the team..

I agree with most of what you have said more or less.

However, consider the bold with regards to KC that yo have said.

The basis for national team selection is consistent outstanding top level performances in yoo club and league. Not past glories.

KC has not been able to score more than 5 goals in the the last two seasons in the EPL. He is currently in the Championship it was projected by many here that he would destroy the Championship but it's the other way round now.

KC is just recovering from injury and can not bermatch fit , he is not in form and is off the boil. He should not really be in the squad. He had not been able to teach anybody how it's done in club and league.

It would have better to bring Chuba Akpon and Nathan Tella.

Oga, dead that talk...as far as the super eagles is concerned, Iheanacho is a very important player... Akpom and Tella are untested and unproven in the national team... They will get their chance soon

Peseiro should consider resting Osimhen for the next game...or not allow him play this long ..
We are going to beat Guinea Bissau, and it would be safer to rest Osimhen, least his injury woes catch up with him before the knockout stage
