Please how did River Hoopers employ foreigners on their basketball roaster to play for them at the on going @theball.?

How are they paying them?
The BAL is an initiative of the NBA, so all participating teams are very likely to be well paid.. the money to pay them should come from there

Finidi not interested in going to ask any foreign born player to play for Nigeria instead he is determined to make the team attractive so that foreign born players will be the ones asking to be picked.

This is how it should be.

If he gets Nsien, that's almost 100% assurance that a video analyst go follow body. Setpieces Trainer too.

I hope so o. Finidi need to be smart in his demands to the NFF if he wants his job to be easier... NFF might refuse to hire some personnel he needs. remember when Rohr and Peseiro were rumoured to be paying some of their backroom staff themselves because the NFF refused to hire them officially

They want to force Amokachi down his throat. I'd rather he have quicksilver than that sexy penetrative passes man.

Amokachi that has turned to a politician since leaving the national team on intermin capacity years ago.. NFF are not serious yet..
Normally, when a new manager is appointed, he is allowed to bring his own backroom staff. It makes the job easier for him.. But knowing NFF, they will want their own people in charge .

I saw a report that Finidi rejected the names NFF presented to him as potential assistants.. he want Micheal Nssien..

To my understanding, Nssien is currently the coach of USA u-20...would he willingly leave that job to be an assistant super eagles coach?

As in! Look at Benjamin Fredrick for instance straight from NPFL/academy to EPL club. If our resident brit expat 'scout' would have commented about how youth football is not bla blaa.. or I know a boy in Peterborough who's father's uncle's sister's boyfriend's brother is his coach.

....and is anything wrong with inviting best talent in the league?! Today we are comfortable with Nwabali in goal than Uzoho.

Local players played vital role last time we won AFCON. Defence and Midfield were made ticking by so called local players.

Calm down to dey read post... my post was directed at Komekn who is a known hater of Nigerian born players... if Finidi decides to give some NPFL players a chance and we start seeing some names like Tiaminu, folks like komekn will say its the NFF handwork

Hope u will not shout corruption when the names start rolling out. And Musa name show. Anyways whatever be the case. Finidi need to win the confidence of his Captain. ASAP. His captain can help him in the dressing room when push comes to shove.
As an NPFL coach, Finidi might feel the need to invite players from the league.. possibly, he might be pressured to... I wonder what Komekn will say about that

NFF is corruption ridden and anchored ⚓ on favouritism, nepotism, godfatherism, alliances & clicks, etc, etc.

Do you really think 💭 that Finidi had complete control to make choices and decide who should play it not 🚫. Particularly coming in as an interim coach, in order to not upset the status quo ,he will have to play along.

Now that he is officially made the National coach he will have to be brave, courageous, and completely upset 😭 the apple cart 🛒.

He must impose the highest standards of probity and quality it cannot be business as usual.

The next coming weeks will be interesting 🧐 there is going to be in fighting the old corrupt brigade against the new. It's going to get bloody .

I want Finidi to unafraid, be wise, Fear God and take the SE to the next level. Without fear or favour.

We know there are players who have been selected for the SE not in merit, players sponsored by NFF officials etc

It's time for RIGHTEOUS CHANGE
It appears you have already made up your mind that if Finidi's tenure goes south, you will blame the NFF... If we start seeing some funny names like Benjamin Tiaminu who was invited last year, you will blame the NFF... welldone

In my appraisal Ademola Lookman can be rightlfully benched for the likes of Victor Boniface and Kelechi Iheanacho because the duo interprets the SS role better.

I disagree.. Lookman is as much of a SS as Iheanacho and Boniface.. he combined well with Osimhen at the AFCON

Super Eagles Job:

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee Members and the NFF Technical Committee met yesterday for the first time to discuss the vacant Super Eagles job.

According to my reliable source, the NFF Executives and Technical Committee reached a unanimous decision to appoint an indigenous coach. This is the first time the NFF Executives and Technical Committee are meeting to discuss the subject and they have made a decision on the Super Eagles coaching job.

The Media speculation has been from individuals in the NFF, but yesterday's meeting has provided clarity and a candidate was selected among those who applied for the job.

There is a twist to all the media speculation, the NFF is looking in a different direction and candidate.

The NFF will release an official statement this week.

Belgium league is rated number 8 in Europe just behind the Turkish league.

Somebody tagged him supremely technical player

He has been in Europe for 4 seasons and he is playing in Belgium. My assertion by comparison of the top players in Europe 🌍 Ralph Onyedika cannot be a supremely technical player and still be in the Belgium league after four plus seasons in Europe.

Relax... It is a matter of time before he makes the leap to a bigger team... Even De Bruyne spent 4 years in the Belgian league begore being signed by Chelsea (I'm not making any comparison, before u come with your grammar)..

Plenty of takents have emerged from the Belgian league over the years, so it won't be long before Onyedika finds a biggrr club to sign him

That case is settled. The committee ruled against Nneka and Elizabeth Williams, citing their extensive participation with team USA for at least ten years as reasons. Chiney I believe was cleared but could only play as a naturalized citizen. FIBA allows one naturalized citizen per window. Chiney I believe didn't like and planned to appeal. Chiney could have gone to the last Olympics but I think she decided against it.

The plan was to appeal using FIBA's rule on exception (basketball development) as a basis. Not sure they finally appeal, or if they did how that went.

With the situation of things with the NBBF now, I doubt if either of them is still interested in making the squad... Making the girls miss out of the world cup was probably the beginning of the end of the momentum our basketball had gathered starting from 2015 when we won the men Afrobasket.
It is incredible how low we have fallen..I mean, we beat France and gave the US a hard time some years ago FFS!... no disrespect to this bunch of players that won the Afrobasket for us recently, but they will get their ass beat at the Olympics if we don't inject one or two quality players into the team...

While your point remains valid, the Cameroon situation is a bit funny though. It's the ministry of sports that employed and announced him and not the FA. There seems to be a power tussle going on.

He is even another grade D oyibo coach..

Dem don use useless oyibo coaches swear for African teams..

Funny enough, most of them don't trust their local coaches due to suspension of corruption and nepotism, so they go for the cheaper oyibos.

I would only have Finidi, he is of unquestionable integrity and is looking to make name he is not hungry for money.

He started making millions of pounds decades ago.

Amuneke has shown he has zero integrity and has his hands stained with outright corruption.

Integrity, honesty and truthfulness are UNCOMPROMISING attributes for me.

But you questioned Finidi's decision not to play Tella and Dele-Bashiru in the friendlies... suddenly, he has integrity.... na so you talk say Chris Houghton get integrity... we saw what he did with Ghana

News I'm hearing from Soccernet is that Randy might not be available for Nigeria double leg games with South Africa. Seems his college team will also be engaged on the 6th and 16th of April.

Ashleigh Plumpre is injured and replaced by Jumoke Alani of Edo queens.

May God help us ooo
Does this mean Randy is going to prioritize his college team over something as big as the Olympics qualification?

I agree with you for the most part save for "football tactics" part. While I do not downplay the importance of football tactics, that sadly isn't the primary problem of most Nigerian coach.

Success is football is 90% Psyche and 10% skill. Average players with the best mental frame and great motivation will beat very skilled players with very little motivation and messed up psyche. Sir Alex Ferguson wasn't known for his tactics as his players have since confirmed. He was however a great motivator. He knew how to get the best out of his players. This was what the Big Boss of blessed Memory Stephen Keshi was known for. Keshi showed immense respect for his players and they respected him in return. He was reported to have motivated his players to play for him and almost always choose players that fit this mold.

The bunch of Nigerian coaches we have today are well learned but too distracted. They have all the UEFA badges, but will allow sentiments, ego etc to destroy their dressing room.
The last paragraph is exactly the point I just made...... Somebody like Oliseh had the credentials to successfully manage the team, but he couldn't drop his big ego and ended up destabilizing the the team before he left..
I hope Finidi isn't that kind of guy sha.. given that he spent a considerable part of his coaching career in Spain...

Two games are not enough to rate a coach, true, but it can give some hints of what to expect from the coach going forward. In Finidi's case, I would say his problem was players selection..
It makes no sense not to play the likes of Tella and Dele-Bashiru in a friendly.. Also benching Lookman, one of the best player at the AFCON over two legs.. I hope his decision wasn't influenced by sentiments.. sentimental selection has always been the bane of Nigerian coaches.. it was one of the things that affected Keshi's tenure as coach....always selecting funny names in his list despite being tactically sound..

England losing to Belgium at wembley

The most over hyped national team in the world 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

England need to swallow their pride and employ a high profile foreign coach.. Its obvious that Southgate and all these English coaches dont know anything.. thats why they hardly get to coach top teams, even in the premier league...
One problem with the English is that they believe everything concerning football that comes from them is the best in the world.
