The team camp officially opens today.
Meanwhile, there is no official confirmation of the alleged friendly with Burkina Faso and DR Congo. No confirmation of the dates or anything like that.

I think there was also pessimism during the buildup to the last afcon due to eguavon being coach at the last minute. We will be fine. Or not.

Yes. But unlike Peseiro, Eguavon hadn't coached the team before the AFCON (I mean that particular team), so many were unsure he could crack it.
Maybe Peseiro has something exciting in store for us..

Sometimes the team flourishes when the fans are pessimistic grin. Am not sure about this time though.

That is the positive part of it.. The players will be under less pressure.

I have never seen Nigerians expressing so much pessimism in the buildup to an international tournament in a long time..

Peseiro has really turned the team to something else

Having compared the results, its clear that they are all more or less the same, with a few differences here and there but good margin of victory for the winners.
I think part of the errors is from how some monikers voted, as Joebie and Andsungorilla already pointed out.
Perhaps, in the future we will consider an alternative method of voting.

Are we good to go, or is there anything else anyone wish to add?

That 4-4-2 is suicide. I spent this holiday watching clips of Tunisia 94 semi finals and finals. One thing struck me. The commentators stated that our midfield was thin. That Cote D' Ivoire and Zambia had better midfield but that our strength lies in our attack. E surprise me but on reflection I see that its true.

We have two pre AFCON friendlies coming up.. What formation Peseiro employs in both games will tell us how he intends to lineup at the AFCON...

Let me speak to you as an insider to some degree.

Gerrard was not a good coach at Liverpool U18 a good motivator but coach questionable.

The brains behind him was a humble guy called Michael Beale, who was in charge of U12 development phase Liverpool FC. He was previously the assistant Manager at Sao Paulo in Brazil in my opinion an excellent coach, strategist and motivator of players.

Gerrard induced him to Glasgow Rangers and he was the brains behind the scenes. When Gerrard moved to Aston Villa Beale left him to QPR and it went all wrong for Gerrard and he got exposed.

Beale is now at Sunderland who have a very good foreward thinking Chair with big ambitions for quality football ⚽ and an ambition to be in the EPL

But the same Beale was later appointed as Rangers coach and couldn't replicate the success the team enjoyed when he was part of Gerrard coaching crew...

Please where is Danny that we once told that Steven Gerard will not be a good coach for Liverpool ?

Man is even struggling as a coach in Saudi grin

We have been over this before...
I never clamoured for Gerrard to take over at Liverpool..
The man was doing well with Rangers and rumours surfaced that he would be a replacement for Klopp.. I gave reasons why I felt it woule be a good idea...
There's no need to twist it to look like i ran a campaign to support his appointment as Liverpool coach..
Make una find something else to use to bond....

Elegbete TV owner is Edafe Matthew EseOghene whois watching and following NPFL with keen interest

Izuchhckwu Akawor was the one pushing for Sodiq Ismail but with Osayi and Aina I don't see any reason for Sadiq.

Most of these journalists are just fighting for their pocket..
Inviting NPFL players to the super eagles will only hurt the league more because these NPFL guys after one or two call up to the narional team will be marketing themselves to foreign teams. Most times, its the backwater leagues of Arab, Eastern Europe, Asia and North Africa that they end up..
These journalists should channel more energy into getting more private sector participation in our local football... Thats what it needs to grow

If Peseiro insists on playing a two man attacking formation at the AFCON,then somebody need to drum it into his ears that 3-5-2 is our best formation for that... With 4-4-2 we will be disgraced at the tournament..
For God's sake, in this age and time, no top team play 4-4-2 anymore....

I trailed the source of the jersey to the guy that designed it.. apparently,he has made several other design of dufferent twams jersey..

It is just a fan concept.. nothing official about it....

Moreso, this our cureent jersey was unveiled last year. As per previous years, it's gonna be until March or June of next year before another one is released..

Well yes and no. The thing is that I’m not storing any data. I just run the program locally. This is more like for personal use for our specific purpose. Could be fully developed. But why do that when we have apps online, we could provide links for voters to enter their choices in future?

The problem here is that Im not sure if Nairalanders will be so willing to click on a link that redirects them to another site to vote. i mean, if the voting is to take place on another site, then it is technically no longer a nairaland award.

So you just enter the choice of voter per category. If the entry is invalid it asks you to keep retrying until your choice matches a player in that category. Then it moves to the next category until all the votes are entered for that voter. Then it moves to the next voter. On and on until the last voter’s entry is entered and validated. Finally it prints out the winners per category after tallying all the votes.

The good thing is that you don’t have the type the full names. Just a few letters of the name per vote. When there is a similarity (e.g the two Victors or other conflicts, it asks to retry until there is no conflict.
