Buddy, do not confuse TRAINING videos with pirated TRAINING VIDEOS downloaded on a torrent site or shared by a friend and your initial comment seems to contradict the previous one. MICRONUGGETS are a form of a short training video. MicroNuggets, like the name suggests is a 2-3 mins(or so) nugget to explain a topic briefly. On the other hand, training videos by CBT are about 10-50mins clip on a topic. Kevin Wallace is fond of using MicroNuggets while the opposite is the case for Jeremy. You can argue all day long but the truth is, videos you find being shared are pirated and people get banned for it. I've seen a CCIE folk got reported the same way. If you don't believe it, put up a comment on some website with your name and a link to download the videos; you'll kiss your certs goodbye forever. Why haant Cbt nuggets been sued? - You asked this question but I am not sure I said anywhere in my comment that any company can be sued. Please don't misunderstand me. Re-read my comment again, you seem to have totally misunderstood it; I am talking about the Individual that possesses a training video illegally. That's totally different from one that buys it and has the license. You got it now ? And not that I don't want to answer your last question; I just thought it's got nothing to do with knowing what is permissible under accepting terms and conditions of being a cert holder and I've been in CISCO longer enough to know how things work with them. And this "Please be informed that new terms of agreement were released with major course revisions from NA and NP which specifies your responsibilities and restrictions either as a Cisco certified individual or training provider. I suggest you find out" has got nothing to do with someone in possession of ILLEGAL Cisco study materials not being banned. sundayslim: I disagree. (What do you disagree with ?;CBT training videos downloaded/acquired from third-parties are not ILLEGAL ? ) If a training company creates its own videos there's nothing illegal about it.( I don't think I mentioned a company cannot create their videos ) Be informed that Cisco does not create training videos. (There are a lot of things in CISCO that wasn't created by them. I knw this) Professionals, most of whom are authors for Cisco press create these videos and make them available for purchase to aid understanding and self study. Be reminded that micro nuggets are includes in authorised Cisco training materials. Check the CCNA 200-120 study guide by Todd lammle.(I read the first editions and the CCNAX a number of times so I know what you're talking about) You have a lot of links to micro nuggets free and that's a way of promoting CBT nuggets since they have cisco press authors training for them and they have partnered with Cisco.(MicroNuggets are referred on OCGs and are free, CBT Training Videos are not) Cisco protects its investment by encouraging you to get the study guide, but what's the hope of you writing the professional certification if you do not understand? That is where training videos come in. (If you're studying to pass, yes but not all the nitbits are covered in training videos. You need the study guide as well)
Why haant Cbt nuggets been sued?
It's not about being a Nigerian and not agreeing to what not, its simply about getting the facts right.
How long have you been Cisco certified? Please be informed that new terms of agreement were released with major course revisions from NA and NP which specifies your responsibilities and restrictions either as a Cisco certified individual or training provider. I suggest you find out.
Thank you. |

YES, training videos bought online are not ILLEGAL, the ones downloaded/acquired from third-parties are. Once you purchase a product, read the disclaimer or terms and conditions. In terms of videos, they've got copyrights. Buying them and watching them is only allowed for a single individual. We naija nor dey gree this one o. And by the way CBTNuggets do not get you the download video links, they expect people to stream if from the website which I totally do not even think is fair. The CBT training videos you find online for free are pirated and illegally downloaded. And just so you know, the same goes for videos downloaded from YouTube :p sundayslim: You are right about cracks and dumps. However, training videos are not ILLEGAL. If a person aims to do self study, and gets training videos to use as his/her learning resource, I don't see anything wrong with that. Remember that training companies such as CBTNuggets have certified trainers that also publish for Cisco press.
What I'm offering to assist him with are not examination dumps or any illegal stuff; rather, they are training videos to help him cope with his self study.
I hope you understand. Thanks. |

I'm not in LAGOS, bro. I'd have loved to help you with your Stuff. To ALL, I don't know if you've been following the thread from the beginning but I do not welcome the idea of sharing videos or cracks or whatnot that has to do with the exam. First, CISCO is so cranky about it and Second, I happen to know a few of the Authors (most especially Narbik and those that work at Micronics) that publish these guides and I know how much work and countless sleepless nights they put in to make thousands of studying hours into a single book, possible. I don't think they'd be encouraged to see a bunch of fellows somewhere on the other side sharing it freely and uploading on cloud. CISCO bans you automatically if they find out. Keep in mind that if you happen to sit for the exam, you're not allowed to tell someone else the kind/set of questions you got at the exam. It's ILLEGAL. And P.S: I'm not condemning anybody. Keep the knowledge sharing fire burning baba11, when will you tell us the news nah ? daontop: Please house, I don't know if anyone have video tutorials on ccnp and want to share with a brother. You are entitled to your own opinion. nevilbot: So the ones dat replied are not busy or dont recieve many mails like others abi? Yes germans a punctual and prompt bt its not all of dem biko. Travel › Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by DanIndia(m): 4:26pm On Jan 19, 2016 |
No, It is not a stereo-type. Germans are actually known to be very, very punctual. In fact, they are punctual to a fault. And do not base your consideration on you sending emails to professors since August. Professors receive too many mails than they can physically reply to. An average professor from a reputed institution receives at least 20 emails daily (these included mails from current students, prospective applicants, research fellows, assistants and the list goes on). This is not some survey done but you'd agree if you get the chance to look over your professor's shoulder, one day, while checking his mailbox. It's not absurd not to hear from some professors for a very long time - mainly the reason why most of them maintain a personal page on the University website and even have a FAQ section. nevilbot: The part abt eke no replying email and saying that is not german like made me laff abt d stereotype we all aavin our mind abt germans bin prompt and doing wat is needed at d right time.
Guys let me burst ur boobles, its all hogwash. As at d last count, i can count up to 9 emails from august till now dat i aavsent out in my search for a msc thesis position dat i av not gotten a response till tomorow. OK. You lost me here - I thought I was on the L3 switch side :p How's the CCNA preparation going ? Set anything on fire yet ? baba11: Well, personally I think L3 switches are more advisable as it doesn't take time for latency. I don't even know if packets filtering through access list can be done here . |
Career › Re: Cisco STUDY GROUP (online) by DanIndia(op): 3:57am On Jan 17, 2016 |
I don't totally agree with this. There is no term "It will only be used when we are not ready to use a router" in the network world. You ain't going nowhere without a router. A L3 Switch works as a SWITCH cum ROUTER. In fact, most small to medium organizations prefer to go this route as they can save money and space with having a SWITCH do the same thing as a router. And it doesn't have to be the latest catalyst switches, brother. All switches (CISCO) are fast and intelligent. I'm sure you're familiar with CISCO's ASIC. baba11: It will only be used if we are not ready to use router but if we are to route packets with switches I.e vlan's routing aspect, only multi layered switches can be used and it's most the latest catalyst switches are used at this stage with a faster intelligent capabilities!!! |

I totally agree with you, brother. You should read the CCNP Study Guide by Wallace too. It's got some strokes of such funny texture too. Oh, and by the way L3 Switches do breakup broadcast domains. I hope you're familiar with the concept of a switch operating at the level 3 of the OSI model. It's basically a SWITCH that can ROUTE packets. Safari29: "I know I keep telling you this, but so you never forget it, here I go, one last time: By default, switches break up collision domains and routers break up broadcast domains. Okay, I feel better! Now we can move on."

You're right. I totally agree with you. It took me a while to seat for my CCNA too. In fact, I had to settle for the CCNAX after procrastinating for so long. I am not sure about the guys here but I won't be working on CCNA anytime soon. However, I could work something out but I won't know when until after about a week or so as I'm tied up with other commitments. bizzlemie: Thanks DanIndia. I'm a network engineer, been init for over 3 years now. I've got quite some experience working with Cisco devices (routers and switches & a bit of ip phones), as i've set up and deployed 'em in a few corporate environments. Let's just say i'm at the intermediate level when it comes to Cisco Networking.
Would've written at least the CCNA exam before now but i had commitments that hindered me. This time i've made up my mind to go for it, so i need sorta like a group of like minds who i'd study & share knowledge with, because i believe the best way to learn & improve is learning with people with same interests. |

Hey ptoall1000, I don't think anyone was turned down. The person you may be referring to, turned out to not have a reliable internet connectivity for an audio call, not to talk of a hangout session. I've led many hangout sessions in the past and as of recent, as well. Tons of you who signed up for it do not show up for one reason or the other. Internet access being the main reason. So my suggestion is, if you need help with anything, ask ahead. The thread may look silent but it isn't. If you can't get through with something, drop me an email with a convenient time for you and I'll be more than glad to create a hangout session for you. Keep in mind that atm, I'm a bit busy with other projects (not related to networking) so I may not be frequent on the thread to answer your questions as soon as you would prefer. ptoall1000: I will advise that danindia, the owner of the thread create the hangout or any other platform for collaboration the other time somebody else volunteered he was turned down. |

You're right. But the thing is summary routes does overcome that area and overhead stuff. Using the ip summary route on different interfaces is another advantage over the OSPF area command. But OSPF will always be the big guy. NoriegaQ: Currently on EIGRP and it's really been fun playing around with the concepts/commands. Think it's the best IGRP I've come across so far but then OSPF has the advantage of breaking a topology into areas thus reducing routing traffic overhead. |
Career › Re: Cisco STUDY GROUP (online) by DanIndia(op): 3:10am On Nov 22, 2015 |
Cool stuff. I did IPv6 a while back and I still have to do a run through again. Still on EIGRP - been very busy with other stuffs lately. Once I'm done with EIGRP, crossing over to OSPF. You'll find EIGRP a lot more interesting at CCNP level. So much to tweak/tune and break NoriegaQ: Guess I'll just have to keep managing the VPCs then. A .edu email really complicates the whole VIRL option but then I've heard people say you can do most SWITCH labs on PT.
Worked on IPv6 addressing and RIPng lab today, using a Frame Relay switch running on point-to-point links. Achieved full network connectivity as shown in the images. Was able to tracert and ping from PC3 to PC2 and also telnet from R3 to S3. Ll run EIGRPv4 later by using dual stack routing.
Currently doing DMVPN though there are so many new commands I'm just coming across on that. Ll keep you posted though. Cheers. |
Career › Re: Cisco STUDY GROUP (online) by DanIndia(op): 12:26pm On Nov 19, 2015 |
Awesome. VIRL is not for $80. It's 99$ for student edition and you must have a .edu email address for that. I run Virtualbox on Ubuntu. It was a pain trying to install some GNS3 dependencies but with some guys code, I was able to fix it and it has been working flawlessly since then. NoriegaQ: I totally agree with you. I found some great labs on MPLS, DMVPN, mGRE etc. on packetlife.net. It's a really awesome site if you're looking for real life topologies to implement during your lab sessions. I noticed in the screenshots you posted that you run virtual servers and it definitely can't be with the VPCs on gns3. Which virtualization software do you run? HyperV directly or Virtualbox? I've been having serious issues tying Virtualbox to my GNS3 and that's been a bit of a limiting factor so far. Checked out VIRL on Google and it doesn't seem to be that expensive. $80 for a year's access isn't so bad but then it seems you always need to be online whenever you use it. Also read on some forums that it isn't as good as GNS3 in most tasks. I'll post the screenshots of some of the VPN labs I intend to work on later today, so we could exchange ideas and knowledge. Regards. |
