ednut1: my neighbors wife went to the uk aged 42 or so . Worked as a care worker ( running multiple shifts in different care homes) for 8 years. She is back to nigeria now as a big madam collecting rent from the houses she built. A 60 year old Nigerian can still hustle abeg. See an example below. Thanks for sharing. A friend moved to Calgary last year @42. He got a job before he landed, which is a lot more than some 28yr olds can say. I know of a 55yr old Egyptian who was head hunted to be a dean in an Ontario post-secondary college. Some generalizations don't have much value. |

Mamaroon: situation haff enter critical mode...See one small "Idiots Guide to TEF" hat a kind soul shared with me.....focus was on EE as that was the problem area I approached them on, some have been mentioned already:
6. Finally, simplicity is key. Keep your phrases simple and concise, make your points clear, let one idea flow to the next, pay close attention to spellings, conjugations, genders and the likes, and everything will be fine. VERY IMPORTANT: please always take a minute or two after each write-up to proof read it. You'll be surprised at how many corrections you'll find yourself making. Even if you haven't finished writing the whole thing and you're running out of time, please stop and do your corrections. Better to write 75% accurately than 100% with errors. I personally tried to proof read after each paragraph and do a final check at the end." I really like 6. Saw a few errors when I cross checked. You can't over stress that point. Plus, if I may just add, using reported speech in the fait divers test...I found those useful. Best wishes to us all! |

EO 1: Call someone so you can test video games EO 2: Convince a friend to take up a service that proposes gym classes outside.
We'll see in 3 - 4 weeks. Was undecided about taking it but eventually made the trip...met cool people.
Cheers to y'all preparing. Bonne chance! |

Thanks I believe you get invited to apply for nomination. |

Mamaroon: @DanMisla to confirm, but I believe you can indicate either language as your first....so you can input whichever one gives the higher CRS points. You've already proven all that there is to prove by getting the required scores in the 2 language tests...so......congrats in advance!
Just some detail on the CRS, the first language gives more points total of 128 with spouse than the second language total of 22 with spouse (plus 30 bonus points total of 52) so the 490 would suggest you did better in French than in the English test. Just cross check that all is in order and fire on. Like others have said, it's no problem at all to put French first. If your estimations are correct, @Jimiaries prepare your docs for ITA as 490 is quite assured. Best wishes! |

Scbhoviv: Good morning guys. So I had an ADR to submit and at the time I could not find any place holder on my account so I submitted via the webform, just for me to wake up this morning , checked my account and saw the placeholder with an overdue on it. So my question is what do I do. I'm trying to see if I said just go ahead and submit like that again or is the webform enough. I'm confused The web form is usually sufficient. Did you get an acknowledgement of receipt from the VO? You could still go ahead and submit via the placeholders in your account, if still possible. I wouldn't worry about it. |

Semilooore: Good morning all.. a colleague of mine is scared that she might be banned sometimes in 2015. She applied for student visa twice and got refusals. Pls am I right or should she really be worried Perhaps she shouldn't be too worried. But instead worrying she could apply for GCMS notes - that might be useful. Do you know what her ADR was for?To be honest, it doesn't seem likely that there will be an ADR for someone who has been banned. |

bigwizzy001: I'm dead sure you have a contact at NIS looking at the assurance of getting your passport next week Monday.
This is what you'll do.
You can't possibly renew till you have six months left on your passport & your 6 months start counting by August which is around the corner. Call your sure contact to renew it for you by next week Monday(29th July). You'll then join the 2 together for submission & to embark on your trip by October. My 1 cent.
My ogas in the house may weigh in though.
*NB*: In another development, please link me up with your contact in NIS. I also want to renew.
1 Well...my passport expires in Feb 2020 as well, and I just had it renewed. So, yes, its possible: NIS isn't so strict with the 6 months rule. @capsule, if you do get a new passport, inform through a CSE. It shouldn't matter since you plan to leave by Oct 2019, but you might get a PR visa of a longer validity (if the expiration of your meds is after Feb 2020). Congrats on your PPR...and best wishes! |

From what you wrote here...you kinda can see why, can't you? He probably would get more points if he had CLB9 and above in all the tests...in at least one of either language. This sha...is enough for Ontario. I won't be writing any other exam, if I were him. But, I wonder why he hasn't gotten an NOI all these months. There've been almost 15 draws since Oct 2018. Its strange. Mamaroon: With your current IELTS and TEF (which is brilliant, by the way), with all else being equal your CLB equivalent for IELTS LRWS is CLB 8 8 8 10 from LRWS 7.5 6.5 6.5 7.5
French: you have CO and CE CLB 9 and above in the other 2 are CLB 8 and CLB 7 |
