Mamaroon: Hi DM! I keep going through that guy's CRS over and over again in my head and I reckon the reason I thought 30 points wasn't added to him yet was because yours dropped by a significant amount when you changed from english to french as first language: 431 to 359. Why was that? It doesn't matter now obviously ....with the OINP and ITA in the bag and OUR PPR and COPR on the way...but the thing is giving the mathematician in me sleepless nights In IELTS, I scored three CLB 10s and one 9. In TEF, it was CLB 9, one 8 and two 7s. The magic is in the different results. Its a bit like having improving an IELTS score of 8, 7, 7, 6.5 to one of 8, 7, 7, 7. That difference of 0.5, moving from CLB 8 to 9...can be quite plenty o. The 30 extra points accrue so long as you get min of CLB 7 in French and CLB5 and above in English: it doesn't matter which one you list as primary language. Wait ooo...aren't you supposed to be studying French? Wetin make you de calculate CRS :-) |

Bekecons: Bros i am trying to understand you. Does that mean you think i should use my latest IELTS(LRWS- 7.5,6.5,6.5,7.5) as first language in other to obtain the 445 you deducted? I tried using the CRS tool but the score i get is 431 (with Tef being first language) if i wanna go alone and let my family join later. My be i don't really get it. @Mamaroon is a Sis. I think you should retake IELTS. Include your family - sponsorship can be complicated. |

Bekecons: Yes i have BSc in Physiotherapy and i used french as first language to get 410 currently in the pool which i entered in September 2018. Try withdrawing your current profile and registering a new one. While you are waiting for an NOI, you should be practising to retake IELTS. With a CLB 9 in English, you should score enough points for a direct ITA...and not have to worry about PNP. Best wishes! |

Bekecons: Thanks DanMilsla. I have looked at some of those streams but they required a job offer which i don't have. The first 2 IELTS tests have expired so that of January 2018 gives me 9,6,6,7 in LRWS ,January 2019 gives me 6.5,8.5,6,7.5 and the recent is 7.5,6.5,6.5,7.5. For my TEF, the first one expired since last year so i rewrote in July 2018 and had Compréhension orale (L): C1 / 296 Expression orale (S): C2 / 430 Compréhension écrite (R): B2 / 207 Expression écrite (W): C2 / 416 Lets the helpers help me ace this IELTS Brilliant TEF scores! Hold on, I do think you already have the equivalent of a CLB 7 in all...including Comprehension Ecrite. It means you may be currently eligible for the Ontario French Stream, also with any one of your valid IELTS scores. You do not need a job offer for this stream.Do you have at least a Bachelors degree? You would need to register French as your first language...and Ontario could send you an NOI. |

Bekecons: SORRY THIS IS LONG but i really need a help II also have knowledge in French, have a half-brother with his family in Alberta so I don’t think I should let all these go in vain. As at now I wrote TEF 2 times and sat for my 5th IELST last month ending but still could not make the 8777 in any one sitting though I had classes toward the recent one; to be frank I feel so much exhausted and down now, it took me more than 3 months to convince myself to write the last time.
Kindly help me Your profile looks very promising. for example, lots of possibilities from TEF/knowledge of French. (Quebec takes too long, apparently.) Ontario has a French-speakers stream. Nova Scotia also did a draw this year and invited French candidates. Try and score a CLB7 and above in TEF - or have you already? |

Mamaroon: Understood, merci......First time alcohol is making something clearer
Lol @ Star and Gulder...you be original old school
It's funny how some old tips only become clearer with time. I think I remember you or Bells mentioning the use of Subjonctif & EE but I was like...hhmm, abeg, how I wan take learn another conjugation story.....someone else actually said just learn for faire, avoir, etre, aller and prendre.....shikena Mamaroon: In fact....... I got my conditions d'inscription today, if na joke before...its real now....make una dey epp me use prayer push the matter. Thanks as always! Just find a way to introduce it somewhere...like when you were quoting someone being interviewed by RFI. Even just once would be ok. In both your essays. Also save yourself some time to re-read. You might detect any mistakes. Perhaps you shouldn't write out the entire essay out on rough paper...just the key points. You know, like your map... You will do well! |

Mamaroon: DM!!!! Thanks a lot...pls forgive the qu'il and (s) .....no excuses.....
I await the balance o. :-) The balance no too serious like that… I think it was a great effort! You ticked all the tatafo boxes: wetin happen? To who? Where e happen? How? When? The main challenge is then to make it read more French, than English translated to French. One trick is the use of subjontif…il faut absolument que tu ajoutes au moins une phrase de subjontif… One teacher told me subjontif c’est de « haut francais » and separates men from the boys. I think you should try it. In the same sense of French-ness, would M. Dupont have yelled “allez” to get people quickly off the bus? Also, you could improve the opening to both your paragraphs. Du courage @Mamaroon! |

Bellerin: Lol. Abeg when you find it, let me know o.
See some feedback:
Rappel des faits, deroulement, denouement
1. There was no "rappel des faits" - you jumped right into the background of the story. (tip: use a longer synonym for the nouns and verbs and then indicate place and time) Example Rappel de faits (Anglais) A bus driver became the hero in a small village close to paris by preventing the certain death of 20 passangers close to rush hour Friday afternoon..[...]
2. Very good deroulement (good use of l'imparfait & passe compose)
L8: Careful tout a coup
3. You didn't end the write up tho (denouement) - Need a line or 2 to end the story. e.g M. Dupo is expected to be celebrated at the mairie this evening for his heroic acts or sth like that) In addition to Bell's feedback, I saw a few combinations that you could revisit: En croyant, que il y avait...(que il) ...ils ont decouvert...et pas decouvert(s)... There were a few others, but my phone de act up. Will add some commentary later... |

Background
Medicals
Medicals was with Qlife on 30th Nov. An angel @jobsinit on this platform graciously gifted me her slot for a family of 4 on 30th November 2018. I don’t know if they still allow date swaps but all we did then was she sent an email to them stating that she had no more need of the date and asked that it be given to me. They acknowledged and approved the swap and that was it! We went for the tests and unknowingly neglected to inform the physician that hubby had TB about 20 years ago! His X-ray showed the scar on his chest and on 13th December 2018, we were sent an ADR for further medicals. He had to do Hepatitis B and Sputum test which cost about N67,500! It was a trying time as I was not sure of what the outcome would be. But hubby was confident his health is excellent. He told me he was completely diligent with his treatment routine at that 20 years ago. But he prayed that his result should not be swapped or any error occurred in the laboratory. We prayed that all will be positive. We then had to wait for 3 whole months for the sputum test result! To the glory of God, it came out negative and hubby was cleared! Congratulations!!! Very best wishes to you and your family... I also had to undergo further tests to rule out TB. Earlier this week, IOM told me the sputum smear and culture all came back negative, and I don't require any further tests. I had thought a repeat x-ray was compulsory after 3 months for everyone. Was that was happened to your husband? thanks in advance... |

Amandacanny: Thank you so much. Am at 443. Just need anything to get it up to 460. I will pm her. Am grateful I prefer learning in a group, to be honest. Personal styles differ, of course, but I enjoy the friendly competition and banter. If you can't make the AF classes because of your schedule, then it may have to be a private tutor. However, you have to find the hours somewhere: its long hard work! (To prepare for TEF, I was attending classes for 10hrs/week, plus 3-4hrs of home study. And I wasn't a beginner.) Anyway, NJ showed us in this forum that it's possible to start from basic and score CLB7 across in 6 months. So go for it! |

Mamaroon: Hello all and help pls. I'm in the pool with 434 and writing TEF (again ) soon.
I know 3 years continuous work experience gets us max scores in the CRS, but do the 3 years have to be in one NOC? So assume I have 2 years in NOC1 and 10 years in NOC2, total work experience 12 years. Can I change my primary NOC from NOC2 (10 years) to NOC1 (2 years) without it affecting my points?
Trying to see if a different NOC may get me a nomination Go for it! So long as you have ref letters. Best wishes. |
