Crime / Killing Of Army Personnel At Okuoma: The Genesis Of The Crisis by DanPolice(m): 3:38pm On Mar 19
*THE REAL CAUSE OF THE CRISES AT OKUOMA COMMUNITY IN UGHELLI SOUTH L.G.A OF DELTA THAT LED TO MILITARY INVASION.*

Okuoma community is an Urhobo community in Ughelli south L.G.A located along the Forcados River. It shares boundaries with Akugbene and Okoloba communities, and both are Izon (Ijaw) speaking communities, located in Bomadi L.G.A of Delta State. Both communities have lived together peacefully for over 3 centuries now. Okuoma community is in Ewu-urphie clan of the Urhobo tribe of Delta State.
Their major occupation is farming and fishing.
There are other Urhobo communities along the Forcados River who all share boundary with the Izon speaking communities. They are also follows: Gbaregolor, Okuoma, Olota, Alagbabiri communities e.tc., all these communities are in Ughelli South L.G.A and they all share boundaries with the Izon speaking communities. These communities have lived with the Izon speaking communities for several centuries. They have had intermarriages, inter trades, among themselves for some centuries. We have several families who are from both tribes (Urhobo and Ijaw). In the olden days, for you to be crowned a king in Izon land, you must have your maternal root from the Urhobos. I don't know if that tradition is still in practice. I know some few Kings whose that maternal roots are from the Urhobo tribe, e.g. HRM Oporomor Godspower of Bomadi town (Ijaw community) in Bomadi L.G.A. He had his maternal root from Gbaregolor community (Urhobo community) which is located along the Forcados River. His Royal Highness, king of Akugbene community (Ijaw town) has his maternal root from Okuoma community (Urhobo town). The king of Akugbene community influenced some developments in Okuoma, like construction of jetty at the waterfront of Okuoma, e.t.c. These people (Urhobos and Ijaws) are one people because they are related by blood or marriage in one way or another. Mr. Barrister Smooth, a famous Ijaw singer once said in his song "When you come to my house you can't separate Ijaw man from Urhobo man because they all live together as one." We are one people.

Back to the main issue;
Okuoma community had land dispute with their neighboring community Okoloba over common boundary. The land dispute has been lingering for quite a long time now. At the boundary side of Okoloba community there is a white mansion, this mansion belongs to a warlord, a man known to be a right-hand man to Mr. Government Tompolo.
Okoloba community have always claimed ownership of the land on which the Okuoma community is located, they always say the "Okuoma inhabitants are their tenants".
If you recall, I earlier said there is a mansion at boundary of both communities, this mansion is owned by a warlord from Okoloba (Ijaw community) this man is so influential and he owns a shrine in this mansion where he practices human sacrifices as rituals in worshipping his war god; Egbesu. Last month February, this man armed his boys and attacked a commercial boat conveying some Okuoma community boys namely Igho and co. These boys were all murdered by this warlord and he labeled them criminals. He wrote to JTF (Joint Task Force) that they were criminals. Remember, I told you that he is Tompolo's right-hand man He is so influential and connected that whatsoever he tells the JTF is what they accept, because his boss Tompolo owns Tantita Security Forces and they control the creeks. This act alone triggered the grievance of the Okuoma community. When this warlord's gang want to carry these crimes, they put on army camouflage so it's difficult to differentiate genuine Army personnel from these hoodlums.
Last week, a man named Anthony Aboh from Okoloba community went missing, his relation from Okoloba community, an Honorable member, believed that It was the Okuoma community that kidnapped him to retaliate for the attack which was carried out on the Okuoma community boys, so they reported the issue to the Bomadi JTF. Just before he reported, the body of the alleged kidnapped man was discovered floating on River Forcados at Ayakoromor community. His hands were tied and he had been beheaded (that was the picture displayed on Social Media with the fallen soldiers body). This annoyed the Okoloba community so much, the Honorable and some delegates from the Okoloba reported to JTF, which then proceeded to Okuoma community on March 14th, 2024 with some soldiers in company of the Honorable. On reaching there, they met with the chairman and elders of the community in their town hall and they brought up the case of the kidnapped beheaded man with the community leaders. The chairman and elders all denied saying they know nothing of such case, which made the soldiers ask the elders and community leaders to lie on the floor. The Army then insisted on arresting the community leaders and that was where the crises erupted from. The information got to the youths that fake soldiers have come to terrorize the community again, and when they turned up there was argument between the Army and community youths. The Army released some gun shots, leading to a full blown war between the youths and the Army because they believed they were fake soldiers. They were killed in error, it is a case of mistaken identity.

The people of Okuoma where soldiers were killed were attacked by Ijaws (Okoloba warlord) and they suffered casualties, mind you when this warlord carried out the dastardly act they wore Army camouflage.

Within the same week, on sighting men in uniform again in the Okuoma community they believed they were the same set of Ijaws warriors from Okoloba again and retaliated, killing all of them not knowing that they were real soldiers......
My fellow Nigerians this is the real cause of the crises. March 15th, Okuoma was raided and razed down by Nigeria Army because of the death about 16 fallen soldiers, women, children, and aged men weren't spared, but funny enough the actual perpetrators have since fled the community leaving those who are either too old, too weak, too sick, too young, or too innocent to flee. Till now, there's still crying, gnashing of teeth, and blood flow around the Forcados River axis. On March 17th yesterday the Army stormed the white mansion at the border after gathering intelligence, on reaching there, they were amazed at what they discovered in the shrine at the white mansion. This mansion is situated at the River bank; they discovered fresh and dried human skulls of innocent people who were used by this warlord as sacrifices for his god (Egbesu). Angered, the Nigerian Army burned down the mansion. Some fake soldiers were also arrested in the mansion. This is the true story of what happened that has claimed so many lives including the lives of a Lt. Colonel, 2 Majors, a Captain, and 12 soldiers, all men of the Nigeria Armed Forces.... Man's wickedness to man. God save our souls.

In November 2017, it emerged that suspended Governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, had significant interests in an off-shore company registered in Bermuda, which held an account with UBS in London. UBS is a multinational investment bank and financial services company with its headquarters in Basel and Zurich in Switzerland.

Disclosures released by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) in the Paradise Papers revealed that Mr. Emefiele owned 49% of Oviation Asset Management since 2009 and was a director in the company from January 2013.

According to The Guardian newspaper in London, “Oviation was part of a structure that imported two jets via the Isle of Man. The latest purchase, a $50m Gulfstream G550, arrived in November 2015. It replaced a $33m Gulfstream G450, imported in 2013.”

15 months before the import of the second Gulfstream, in June 2014, Mr. Emefiele became the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). In this capacity, he also chaired the board of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting PLC, which is responsible for printing Nigeria’s currency.

Section 9 of the CBN Act of 2007 requires of both the Governor of the Central Bank and his deputies that they “shall devote the whole of their time to the service of the Bank and, while holding office, shall not engage in any full or part-time employment or vocation, whether remunerated or not, except such charitable causes as may be determined by the Board and which do not conflict with or conflict with their full-time duties.”

This prohibition places three constraints on the CBN Governor: one substantive, another procedural, and a third ethical. Substantively, it bars him from moonlighting in any other job or vocation, whether or not remunerated. Procedurally, he needs the approval of the Board of the CBN before taking on any role outside the bank. Implied in this is an obligation of full and honest disclosure on the part of the CBN Governor. As an (additional) ethical standard, the Act precludes the CBN Governor from putting himself in a position that conflicts with his full-time duties.

As the head of a “public corporation” (which the CBN is), Mr. Emefiele, as CBN Governor, is also subject to the Code of Conduct for senior public officers contained in the 5th Schedule to the Nigerian constitution, which imposes on him standards of conduct with reference to asset disclosure, acceptance of gifts and donations, and holding of overseas interests.

For Mr. Emefiele, these standards were ornaments of convenience. Three years into his office as the CBN Governor, his interests in Oviation were still intact. Contacted by The Guardian for an explanation in November 2017, Mr. Emefiele claimed that he “gave instructions for his shares to be handed back” to his former employers, a Nigerian bank, in 2014. For a central banker, this claim showed either a tendency for the cavalier or habit of casuistry.

On or about 4 May, 2022, Mr. Emefiele was a guest of President Muhammadu Buhari in the presidency. The following day, some characters claiming to be armed Niger Delta militants endorsed Mr. Emefiele for the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), promising to lay down their arms if the party were to hand the ticket to him.

Two days later, on 6 May 2022, it emerged that one Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) and two other shadowy organizations had purchased for Mr. Emefiele forms to run for the presidency on the ticket of the APC. On the same day, Reuters reported that “news of Emefiele’s presidential bid sent the Naira close to a record low”.

Reacting to these developments, Ondo State governor, himself a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Rotimi Akeredolu, put the issue pointedly: “it is difficult to imagine that a person who occupies the exalted and sensitive office of the Governor of the CBN will be this brazen in actualizing his ambition.”

The following day, 7 May, Mr. Emefiele claimed that he was waiting for “God’s Divine intervention” which he hoped to receive “in the next few days”. His political organization, called “#Meffy2023”, was launched three months earlier in February 2022 by The True Green Alliance (TGA), an organization that, bizarrely, “promotes caring for the earth and sustainable living practices throughout the societies and governments of southern Africa.” Nigeria is in West Africa.

Mr. Emefiele was nothing if not consistent in his convenient attitude to rules. As CBN Governor, he maintained a ruinous regime of multiple exchange rates, sustaining a deliberate scheme of arbitrage that oiled both insider abuse and cronyism.

From taking over the management of the National Theatre (despite pending litigation) to making himself a willing instrument for the persecution of #EndSARS protesters, Mr. Emefiele got the CBN involved in schemes and scams that almost assuredly violate Section 34 of the CBN Act. Premium Times in a February 21, 2021 editorial feared that his tenure at the CBN will be remembered for having wilfully “shredded” the guardrails in the CBN Act.

In a country where consequences follow malfeasance, Mr. Emefiele should have been unemployed and in prison. In Nigeria, he longed for the presidency.

The question of Mr. Emefiele’s presidential project was, even more, a legal issue. Two of his predecessors preceded him into elective politics. Clement Isong, the second Governor of the CBN from 1967 to 1975 became the first elected governor of old Cross-River State in October 1979. Chukwuma Soludo, who was CBN Governor from 2004 to 2009, is currently serving as the governor of Anambra State, having been elected on 6 November, 2021. Both Dr. Isong and Professor Soludo, however, ran for office after the expiration of their terms.

But section 9 of the CBN Act makes it quite clear that the CBN Governor just cannot choose to run for elective office while still holding on to office. He could, of course, have chosen to resign in order to pursue his ambition. For this, though, section 11(3) of the CBN Act required him to give “at least three months’ notice in writing to the president of his intention to do so.”

Mr. Emefiele did neither. Instead, he used the time and money of the Central Bank to set up a partisan bid for the presidency. As with his holding in an offshore company despite being prohibited from doing so, Mr. Emefiele wished this prohibition away as yet another inconsequential encounter with an inconvenient guardrail.

In pursuit of his presidential project, Mr. Emefiele did not encounter any guardrails that he was not willing to destroy. When citizens objected to his pursuing the presidency from the office of the CBN Governor, Mr. Emefiele procured a fly-by-night order from the High Court of Delta State in Kwale to see them off. In December 2022, the Federal High Court in Abuja issued two orders, one declining the application of security agencies to question Mr. Emefiele; the other restraining anyone from touching him.

As with the launch of his presidential ambition in February 2022 and the purchase of his presidential forms in May, Mr. Emefiele managed to find another faceless NGO to be his Mother Theresa. The plaintiff in the latter case was “Incorporated Trustees of Forum for Accountability and Good Leadership”, registered in May 2018. The case took only five working days; they filed on Monday 19 December 2022 and had a 22-page judgment on 29 December! When the same courts encountered a suit seeking accountability by Mr. Emefiele, they ruled that citizens did not have standing to question him.

Mr. Emefiele has always been relaxed about having his fate decided by Nigerian judges, a tribe with whom he has had many favorable encounters. While he was the boss of The Mint, he could issue enough notes to buy any number of court orders he fancied. Now that he is no longer there, he can still afford the most expensive lawyers in the land and can get courts who will give him orders to send him on medical tourism whenever he wants. But if at any point he were to suffer a bloody nose, I’ll not cry for him because that will be just desserts for a man who clearly believes everything can be bought and sold.

This is the biggest lie ever told by any individual alive or dead, and the unfortunate part of it all is that gullible people have taken it hook, line & sinker. Even if a liter of fuel is selling for 500naira there is no way the thing in that cane would cost 900naira. What many of the people who peddle unfounded lies like this on social media do not know is that they are painting us in bad light before the rest of the world.

But igbos don't beg now, dey are billionaires[/quote]

This is sarcastic and very unwarranted. It would have been better you didn't respond at all than to give such response. The guy made a sincere appeal. Irrespective of our partisan differences, we must remember that we are one people and therefore must be there for each other. This division caused by party affiliation should please be brought to an end.
Politics / Soyinka: I’ve Never Heard Anyone Threaten The Judiciary On TV The Way Datti Did by DanPolice(m): 3:55pm On Apr 05, 2023
Wole Soyinka, the Nobel laureate, has described the comments by Datti Baba-Ahmed, vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), in a recent interview as containing “fascistic language”.

Soyinka spoke in a chat with Arise TV on Wednesday.

On March 22, Datti, in an interview with Channels TV, said the country has no president-elect despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election.

The LP vice-presidential candidate said Tinubu would be leading an unconstitutional government if sworn into office because the APC candidate “has not met requirements of the law”

The interview has elicited criticism from political stakeholders as well as a N5 million fine for the TV station.

Adding his voice to the conversation, Soyinka described Datti’s remarks as a “kind of do-or-die attitude and provocation” that goes contrary to democratic disposition.

He said the LP vice-presidential candidate tried to “dictate to the supreme arbiter of the nation”, adding that it was unacceptable. “I have never heard anyone threaten the judiciary on television the way Datti did. I heard the kind of menacing, blackmailing language as that to which we were treated by Datti. That kind of do-or-die attitude and provocation is not what I think we have all been struggling for,” Soyinka said.

“Nearly the totality of Datti’s comment in the interview was unbecoming. It was like trying to dictate to the supreme arbiter of the nation, and whatever you think of the supreme court, it is an institution we all refer to sooner or later.

“But Datti kept saying, in his wisdom, that the supreme court must agree with me. That is what is known as fascistic language and it is not acceptable.”

‘FAKE NEWS ATTRIBUTED TO ME’

The Nobel laureate has been one of the most prominent victims of fake news in the country in recent years.

The latest was a viral social media post which claimed he endorsed Tinubu during the run-up to the presidential election.

Reacting to what he called “nauseating and praise-singing tracts”, Soyinka announced a $1000 reward for “anyone who can finger successfully the author of some of the tracts which have been attributed to me over the past six months”.

“Please beware of fake news. A lot of damage is being done by fake news. Even as recently as a few days ago. Some garbage, verbiage, nauseating and praise-singing tracts which we have seen so many times before have been resurrected and attributed to Wole Soyinka. It makes me sick. If people want to be praise singers let them do it in their own father’s name and leave Soyinka out of it,” he said.

I want to use this opportunity to announce a reward of $1000 to anyone who can finger successfully the author of some of the tracts which have been attributed to me over the past six months.”

Politics / Lagos Agbero & The 2023 General Election. by DanPolice(m): 2:51pm On Oct 27, 2022
*Lagos Agberos And The 2023 General Elections* - Dr. Abdulrasaq Shittu

In Lagos, about 85% of Danfos on the roads don’t have working headlights, brake lights, signal lights, functional seat belts or other safety devices.

You don’t have to believe me; just take a ride around the city and see for yourself.

Let us not even talk of valid driver’s license. Most danfo drivers don’t have one.

Meanwhile, as a private motorist in Lagos, you dare not lack any of these driving necessities. Otherwise, you stand the risk of getting your vehicle confiscated by overzealous LASTMA or VIO officials.

In addition, in Lagos, danfo drivers will run the red traffic light, take one-way, constitute all manner of traffic nuisance, yet they rarely are punished for these.

Simply, Lagos Danfo qualifies as one of the most dangerous means of public transportation in the world.

Now, have you ever wondered why danfo and other commercial vehicle drivers are allowed this impunity in a state that has LASTMA, traffic Police, VIO, and FRSC?

Well, it is simple. I will explain.

*Danfos And Extortive Levies*

In Lagos, as many Danfos are needed to be on the road. This way, they can contribute to a pool of levy collected by a vicious cartel that masquerades as the State road transport unions.

In other words, if every danfo that conflict with the law were to be arrested, it will leave very few danfos on the road. What that would translate to is less levies collected by the ‘agberos’.

I’m sure someone is now getting the picture.

This is the simple reason why Danfos are above the law in Lagos State.

Now, here is the thing; every road traffic law enforcer is complicit in this intricate scheme: LASTMA, Police, VIO, FRSC, etc.

In fact, if you are a frequent commuter that uses danfos, you're probably already familiar with terms like "Owo LASTMA," "Owo Olopa," "Owo Chairman," etc. These are some of the levies that danfo drivers are forced to pay to the agents of the cartel.

These monies are then paid to the traffic law enforcement agents for them to turn a blind eye to the shenanigans of Danfo drivers in the state.

*Lagos State Government And The Agberos*

The national body of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) recently suspended the Lagos State branch of the union, which is headed by the notorious MC Oluomo.

The suspension came as a surprise and generated a stir in one particular circle.

Now, guess what happened.

Almost immediately, the Lagos State government headed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, hastily formed a new transport union. It was christened the Lagos State Parks And Garages Management.

Now, guess who was appointed to lead the new Union?

Yes. You guessed right. MC Oluomo.

By this action, the Lagos State government did in fact confirm that it is the main enabler of agberos and their mischiefs on Lagos roads.

Now, the big question is: Why was it necessary for the hurried formation of this new union by Sanwo-Olu?

Well, the answer is simple: 2023 is just by the corner, and funds need to be mobilized for the campaign season.

I hope I am getting somewhere?

* The Infamous Lagos Traffic: A Gold Mine*

The Lagos road transport cartel, which is made up of various Lagos road transport unions, is the biggest beneficiary of the notoriously chaotic road traffic in the State.

Additionally, there are irrefutable evidences that a prominent personality in the State and a former Governor is the chief supporter and shareholder of these unions.

According to a 2021 report by the International Centre for Investigative Report, the Lagos Chapter of NURTW generates a staggering N123.08billion ANNUALLY.

This amount exceeds the average annual IGR of most Nigerian states.

For better understanding, this amount is more than the annual budgets of Niger, Yobe and Nasarawa COMBINED!

It is also important to note that the Lagos transport unions add no value to the roads that generate so much for them:

They don’t build roads.

They don’t fix potholes.

They don't clean drainage systems or gutters.

They do not clean even the bus stops and motor parks where they operate, etc.

An important question at this point is: Where do all these incredible sums of money that they collect go?

*Lagos State IGR*

Undoubtedly, N123.08billion per annum is not a small amount.

Why doesn’t the State Government collect these levies since they are the owners of the roads that generate these humongous amount for the agberos?

Indeed, Lagos state would boast of far higher IGR than they now do if this sum generated by the agberos goes to the state treasury as it is done in states like Edo and Rivers State.

Why then does the state government remain silent while some private terror organizations profit from money that ought to have gone to the state treasury?

*Ambode And The Danfo Policy*

In 2017, ex-Governor Akinwunmi Ambode announced that there was a plan by his government to phase out Danfos in Lagos state.

What the naive Ambode did not realize was that phasing out danfo is not part of the much talked about “Lagos state masterplan”.

That announcement would ultimately cost him his re-election as Governor.

*Ambode And The Oshodi Bus Terminal*

The popular Oshodi bus stop alone has over 24 different motor parks spread across the place.

Indeed, Oshodi bus stop is a major money-spinner for the Lagos state ‘agberos’.

In September 2017, Ambode started a project to modernize the Oshodi bus stop.

With the construction of the ultra-modern Oshodi bus terminal, most of these motor parks were to be eliminated.

That is, as if the plan to phase out danfo wasn’t bad enough, Ambode was also planning to eliminate the various money-raking motor-parks at Oshodi.

Again, this turned out to be another “wrong” move by Ambode.

As time has shown, this plan by Ambode was also not part of the fabled "Lagos State Masterplan" promoted by the cartel and their allies.

These were the main reasons the powerful forces and the cartel ensured that Ambode didn't get the APC ticket to run for re-election as governor of Lagos State.

*Danfo and Lagos Traffic*

A former DG of LASTMA, Engr. Olajide Oduyoye, had consistently campaigned that Danfo is one of the chief causes of traffic snarls in Lagos. Indeed, he was a champion for the phasing out of danfo from Lagos roads.

Now, guess what.

Governor Sanwo-Olu sacked the man ostensibly for his opposition to the antics of the road transport cartel.

Clearly, the Lagos State government and the cartel were very determined to sustain danfo – an outdated means of mass transport on the road of the city that pride itself as a “megacity”.

*Lagos traffic, Super Wealthy Agberos And The Yoruba Youths*

Don’t be fooled. The horrific traffic situation in Lagos is deliberate. It is designed for the benefit of a small group of people.

The slower the traffic, the easier it is for the foot soldiers of the cartel to collect the various levies from the hapless commercial motorists.

Therefore, when next you are stuck in the horrific Lagos traffic, jut know that someone is smiling to the bank from your frustration.

Indeed, the traffic chaos in the state have made many agberos billionaires.

Sadly, this reprehensible system has also created employment for many Yoruba youths. Most of these Youths now dream and aspire to be the next “MC Oluomo”.

Why not? When they see the likes of MC Oluomo and his associates throwing extravagant “Owambes”, building mansions, hotels and petrol stations all over the place.

Little wonder why an average Lagos youth would tell you “school na scam”.

*The Obafemi Awolowo Legacy And The Agbero Syndrome*

The Yorubas were once-up-on-a-time famed as the most educated ethnic group in Nigeria. Thanks to the educational legacy of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

Sadly, all that legacy has been completely destroyed since 1999.

In the past 23 years, rather than continuing to create educational strategies to educate the South West region, there has been a remarkable recruitment of Yoruba youths as area-boys or agberos.

The poor ranking of South-West states in WAEC results are a clear indicator of how awful things have been for Yorubas since the start of the third republic.

Chief Obafemi Awolowo would be turning in his grave right now.

*The 2023 General Election*

The electioneering season has begun.

The Grand Patron of the Lagos Agberos is running to be the president of Nigeria.

Undoubtedly, the huge funds generated from the horrendous traffic in Lagos will be used to finance the campaign to enthrone him as the GCFR.

Let there be no misunderstanding: The sum of money involved is staggering!

This season, money will play an extremely important role:

Loyalty will be purchased.

There will be compromise of the moral standards of so many otherwise principled individuals.

Deals will be struck with appropriate and strategic institutions.

Overwhelming mass media and social media promotions will be undertaken.

Massive propaganda and campaigns of calumny will be sponsored.

Voters’ PVCs will be purchased.

Voters will be enticed with monies, etc.

All these will be done to ensure that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu becomes the next president of Nigeria.

Yes. The incredible amount of money to ensure that this happens is available.

Note: the use of danfo in this article refers to Danfo, "Korope", Keke riders, Okadas, and others public vehicles that are subject to extortion by Lagos agberos.

Politics / Olukayode Ariwoola Born In 1958, Started School In 1959? by DanPolice(m): 8:39am On Jun 28, 2022
President Buhari yesterday sworn in a new acting CJN to replace the immediate past CJN who resigned on health grounds. The new CJN who is on acting capacity until his appointment will be cleared/confirmed by the Nigerian Senate is from Oyo state and report available indicates that he was born in 1958 and started schooling in 1959. It being reported that he had his early education between 1959 & 1967. My question is; at what age did the new acting CJN start schooling?

Born in 1958, started school in 1959? Questions over acting CJN’s credentials

On Monday, following the resignation of Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, Olukayode Ariwoola was sworn in by President Muhammadu Buhari as the acting chief justice of Nigeria (CJN).

Ariwoola is expected to serve in acting capacity until confirmation by the National Judicial Council (NJC) and the national assembly.

At the swearing-in ceremony in the presidential villa, the acting CJN swore to be faithful and bear true allegiance to the federal government, as well as defend the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

However, fresh questions have been raised over the credentials of Ariwoola, and particularly on the date which he began school.

BORN IN 1958 AND STARTED SCHOOL IN 1959?

Ariwoola was born in Iseyin, Oyo state, on August 22, 1958, according to information on the website of the supreme court.

The date of birth has now been edited and deleted, replaced by “he was born over 60 years ago”.

The site said he began his primary education less than a year later in 1959 at the Local Authority Demonstration School, Oluwole, in his hometown. He would spend eight years in school before graduating in 1967.

He then moved to Muslim Modern School in the same town from 1968 to 1969 before graduating to Ansar-Ud-Deen high school, Saki area of Oyo, for secondary education.

He earned his law degree from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1980, and a year later he was called to the Nigerian bar and got enrolled as a solicitor and advocate of the supreme court.

REPORTEDLY ILL

Before Ariwoola was sworn into his new role, insiders within the apex court told TheCable that some northern justices were against his appointment on the grounds that the 63-year-old is allegedly battling health issues.

They alleged that the illness might affect Ariwoola’s performance as the leader of the supreme court just as it did the immediate past CJN.

The next in hierarchy to him, Musa Dattijo Muhammad, is also said to be very ill and had just returned from a surgery.

The nature of the ailments is not publicly known.

How can someone be born in 1958 and start schooling in 1959? Or am I the only person that saw that part of the news?

Peter Obi is not a Party, Peter Obi is not just a name, Peter Obi is a movement. The biggest movement ever in the history of this nation. Hate him, or love him, it's your business. Those of us that want him as our next president are moving on. #TAKEBACKNIGERIAMOVEMENT.

Sorry if this offend you, but I'm unapologetically OBIdient.

Where was our dear Honorable when the bill went through first and second reading? Any opposition by a member to a bill being sponsor by another member should be at the floor of the house of rep not at a public hearing.

Foreign Affairs / Uganda President Address During COVID-19 National Address. by DanPolice(m): 2:00pm On Apr 23, 2020
*UGANDAN PRESIDENT KAGUTA MUSEVENI'S WARNING TO PEOPLE MISBEHAVING DURING THIS COVID-19 PERIOD:*

"God has a lot of work; He has the whole world to look after. He cannot just be here in Uganda looking after idiots...

"In a war situation, nobody asks anyone to stay indoors. You stay indoors by choice. In fact, if you have a basement, you hide there for as long as hostilities persist. During a war, you don't insist on your freedom. You willingly give it up in exchange for survival. During a war, you don't complain of hunger. You bear hunger and pray that you live to eat again

"During a war, you don't argue about opening your business. You close your shop _(if you have the time)_ , and run for your life. You pray to outlive the war so that you can return to your business (that's if it has not been looted or destroyed by mortar fire.

"During a war, you are thankful to God for seeing another day in the land of the living. During a war, you don't worry about your children not going to school. You pray that the government does not forcefully enlist them as soldiers to be trained in the school premises now turned military depot.

" *THE WORLD IS CURRENTLY IN A STATE OF WAR!* A war without guns and bullets. A war without human soldiers. A war without borders. A war without cease-fire agreements. A war without a war room. A war without sacred zones.

"The army in this particular war is an army without mercy. It is without any milk of human kindness. It is indiscriminate - it has no respect for children, women, or places of worship. This army is not interested in spoils of war. It has no intention of regime change. It is not concerned about the rich mineral resources underneath the earth. It is not even interested in religious, ethnic or ideological hegemony. Its ambition has nothing to do with racial superiority. It is an invisible, flit-footed, and ruthlessly effective army.

"Its only agenda is a harvest of death. It is only satiated after turning the world into one big death field. Its capacity to achieve its aim is not in doubt. Without ground, amphibious and aerial machines, it has bases in almost every country of the world. Its movement is not governed by any war convention or protocol. In short, it is a law unto itself. It is Coronavirus. Also known as COVID-19 (because it announced its destructive presence and intention in the year of our Lord 2019)

"Thankfully, this army has a weakness and it can be defeated. It only requires our collective action, discipline and forbearance. COVID-19 cannot survive social and physical distancing. It only thrives when you confront it. It loves to be confronted. It capitulates in the face of collective social and physical distancing. It bows before good personal hygiene. It is helpless when you take your destiny in your own hands by keeping them sanitized as often as possible.

"This is not a time to cry about bread and butter like spoilt children. After all, the Holy book tells us that man shall not live by bread alone. Let's obey and follow the instructions of the authorities. Let's flatten the COVID-19 curve. Let's exercise patience. Let's be our brothers' keeper. In no time, we shall regain our freedom, enterprise and socializing."
Politics / Apc's Direct Primary Option For Presidential Primary. by DanPolice(m): 4:55pm On Oct 01, 2018
Why did APC opted for direct primary for their presidential primary election? Mind you, this was not the method they used in 2015. I don't know but I think they are up to something.
Religion / Re: Why Did The Catholic Church Decide That Priests Should Be Celibate? by DanPolice(m): 3:24pm On Sep 09, 2018
The decision by the Catholic Church to have Priests who are cerlibate has nothing to do with them following the examples of Jesus. Yes, it it true that there is no record of Jesus being with any woman of wife, He never preach or teach that those who are to minister in the temple as Priest be cerlibate. The priestly office has been before the arrival of Christ to save mankind, and the requirements/qualifications of the office are clearly spelt out in the book of Leviticus.

The claim by one of the respondent here that because Jesus who founded the Catholic Church was a cerlibate is very unfounded. Jesus never preach in Rome all His life, yet the Catholic Church originated from Rome hence the name Roman Catholic. It was Apostle Paul that took Christianity to Rome.

The reason why the Catholic Church chose for her priest to be cerlibate, I believe is rooted in their papacy, and cannot be explained by any one else other than the custodians of the papacy alone.

In the defence of his paymaster. Agricultural sector became vibrant yet when present government ban the importation of rice the price went up sporadically. It is a know fact that the worse government ever in the history of our present democratic experience was the immediate past administration. The only credit GEJ have is that he conceded defeat after 2015 elections which I see as his only option at the time.

Politics / Re: Fresh Dust Raised Over Supreme Court Decision On Rivers Guber Election by DanPolice(m): 11:01am On Mar 02, 2016
Nobody expects a reversal of the Supreme Court Judgement as it affect Rivers State governorship petition. But we must ask the questions that needs to be asked. What happened in Rivers State during the governorship election of 2015 was far from what election should be, how can a country's Supreme Court be so contradicting in one matter? Wike has all it takes to win election in Rivers State but that must happen under a fair contest not one marred with all forms of violence that resulted in colossal lost of life and other valuable properties. It's only a compromised Supreme Court that could have given that type of judgement and that is why we must allow any investigation that can help us prevent such from happening again in our democratic life.
