petra1: Seeing is one thing comprehending is another. There are principles to bible interpretation if not the ethiopian eunuch would not ask Philip to interpret the verse he was reading
Oh , so you're one of them . In that case theres no point discussing spiritual matters with an unconverted because the holy spirit that give understanding is not in you . Except you're not yet a proper unbeliever . Your a christian who just lost his way but deep down you know your just rebelling .
Enough talks . Just quote the passage for is and tell us who's its talking about You are hilarious! Most Christian's I know are intelligent people until issues about their religious book comes about. As an intelligent person I expect you to be curious to go and read Isiah chapter 7 to see if I am lying but as usual you put intelligence aside and put on your uniform of DOGMA because you are afraid that you would discover what you probably believed all your life is WRONG. You retreat to dogma and start telling me of an ignorant Ethiopian enoch in a computer age where information is at the tip of your hands. It is only INDOCTRINATION that can do this to an educated intelligent person. My time on this thread is done because I can see that we are wasting each others time. |

petra1: You're still wrong, you are the one who need to study how to interpret prophecies .
There is never a case in the bible of virgin birth apart from christ . If there is kindly explain to us who got the virgin pregnant in the old testament.. Even if at all there is any case like that which I'm sure there is none . There are principles involved in interpretations of prophecies .
There is law of foreshortening There is law of double reference etc By the law of double reference there are prophecies that have multiple fulfillment. Prince of Persia could have a partial earthly reference yet a spiritual reference David prophesying about ahithiopel betrayal yet still applicable to Judas betrayal . But on this topic that's not the case . There is only one virgin , Mary My friend, The bible is not Ifa divination that you need a priest to interpret it for you.All you need to understand the bible is ability to READ and COMPREHEND.
Before I became an atheist I was a Christian and I have read the bible cover to cover several times. The problem with Christian's is that you guys do NOT read your religious book but rely on what people or your pastors tell you. For the last time I repeat the virgin story in Isiah Chapter 7 is NOT talking about Jesus Christ virgin birth. There are TWO different virgin birth stories in the bible. The author of Mathew for reasons best known to him or because of mistranslation decided to claim the story in Isiah Chapter 7 refers to Jesus but it does not. Isiah Chapter 7 refers to a virgin birth during a war as a sign to a king. Go and read your bible please. |

petra1: You're wrong . On what ground will you say such thing
Mat 1:22 — Mat 1:23 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. I suggest you read Isiah Chapter 7 completely. It is self explanatory and simple enough proof that Isiah was talking of a different virgin birth. The author of Mathew for reasons best known to him took that passage in Isiah and falsely interpreted it as being about Jesus Christ. You guys need to do a little reading and research sometimes. That is why atheists always beat you at knowledge of your religious book because we read and have an open mind. I suggest you get Isiah Isiah Chapter 7 and read it then tell me if the writer is referring to Jesus virgin birth or a virgin birth that concerns a war. I know this is difficult for you because the INDOCTRINATION from youth is strong. |

Rapture4real: A religion that.employs the tools of intimidatio, violence, threath ,death etc is not a true religion because those are the tools of cult. They are always insecured any where they are. They operate in secrecy like someone who knows that what he carries is fake.Genuine people are bold, only fakr feel threathened. No disrespect to your opinion sir but in my little experience ALL religions contain the intricate propensity to produce violence on anyone who disagrees with the dogma. |

Daejoyoung: I am a Christian, but I already know all this. I cannot say with certainty that it was an insertion though, I'll say that it was probably part of the oral stories about jesus making waves at the time which matthew and luke adopted for perhaps different reasons.
Matthew probably believed it fulfilled the prophecy in Isaiah 7, while Luke may have just heard it somewhere and it may have been popular in his circle. The others may have ignored the story or probably tossed it aside as a rumour since Mary was probably no longer alive to give the true account. Oga, Just so you know Isiah Chapter 7 verse 14 is NOT even talking about Jesus Christ but an entirely DIFFERENT virgin birth which the author of Matthews gospel cunningly and probably ignorantly ascribed to the Jesus virgin birth story for his own reasons. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Paul And His Loud Silence On The Virgin Birth. by Dantedasz(m): 2:01pm On Jun 28, 2020 |
Daejoyoung: Where does the bible say that the VIRGIN birth is a factor or prerequisite for the death and resurrection of jesus christ? Mark doesn't even mention it in his gospel for his readers, but it is a gospel nonetheless. Mark and John do not mention the virgin birth because it NEVER happened. Take away the 1st chapters of Luke and Mathew that talk about a virgin birth and then you realise the virgin birth is not mentioned anywhere by any of the Christian founding fathers. The virgin birth was similar to other virgin births of other man gods in Ancient Rome. The virgin birth was a clever insertion into the bible by the writers of Luke and Mathew gospels and that is why Paul does not talk about it in his numerous letters because such an event was not known to the early Christians. You guys need to do a little research and stop being afraid to ask questions! |

Christianity Etc › Re: Prophetic Revelation On What Is Coming. That Was Revealed To Me By God by Dantedasz(m): 7:05pm On Jun 27, 2020 |
TheNoble007: Good day everyone. I will humbly share some prophecies that were given to me in visions and revelations from the Lord Jesus Christ. This is not for vain glory or whatever, but to share coming events that will soon occur. A true prophet is one whose revelations come true and can give true solution to events or problem with the fruit of meekness or humility. The solution to the world's problem, is not world peace, but the knowledge of the real Jesus Christ, who shed His blood for the salvation of the souls of men. I don't know the version of Jesus that you are seeing or was preached to you. But the real Jesus, transforms the heart of men, turning men from sinners to saints who live their lives in constant holiness and righteousness to the glory of God. For no one who sees the real Jesus will ever remain the same. Anyone who sees Him must change. This is not the time for gimmicks, for the end is at hand.
HERE ARE THE PROPHECIES:
1) In the year 2008, about 12 years ago, I had a vision in which I was walking with the Lord Jesus, and He began to tell me of a great commotion/unrest that is coming upon Nigeria, and this commotion is billed for occurrence. And He then told me that some politicians lost their lives in the process including a person of good mention. When He mentioned the name, I was surprised. I asked the Lord again to confirm, and He said YES. I was still surprised and wanted to ask Him again, but He read my mind and said to me- "Don't mention that name again" with pain in His voice.. I was now left alone, and I began to hear praises and worship coming from true children of God in the time of the great unrest. Then the vision ended.
The world is shaking at the moment, and no part will be free soon to come. Albeit, prophecies are meant for us to pray and also prepare... We have loved ones.. We can extend our prayers not only for ourselves, but to others as well for preservation.. A great commotion is coming upon Nigeria, and if believers can pray, violence of any sort will be brought under control.. May God preserve His children.
2) In a vision, I do not see the current president of the United States holding power for a long time. His tenure will be short and another will take his place.. Those who understand, will understand.
3) In the spirit, I see another virus coming after the corona virus. By the year 2021, corona virus will have left the face of the earth. But another will be introduced. This will be more deadly than corona, albeit looking similar to it. It will make corona look like a child's play, and will baffle the scientific world. The world economy will be crumpled further. Most notably the United states. It's main victims will be men and children.
4) I see a wave of power coming upon the world. Particularly in Africa. Powerful youth with the anointing of Elijah will begin to rise in this last days in great numbers, from 2021 and beyond.. They will be humble and will help build nations. Many of them will be Matyrs for the sake of the gospel. A great revival is coming as it was in the day of Pentecost.
5) In the spirit, I saw the walls of the United States falling. Oh, how great would be the fall...
6) The coming of a World wide persecution of true Christians is at hand. Very close.
I will stop here.. Narcissist! |

Missyajoke: Every day thousands of people will take their final breath and slip into eternity, either into heaven or into hell. Although we may never know their names, the reality of death happens every day.
What happens the moment after you die? The moment after you die, your soul temporarily departs from your body to await the Resurrection.
Those who place their faith in Christ will be carried by the angels into the presence of the Lord. They are now comforted. Absent from the body and present with the Lord.
Meanwhile, unbelievers await in Hades for the final Judgment.
“And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments… And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.” ~ Luke 16:23a-24
“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” ~ Ecclesiastes 12:7
While the unbeliever’s body remains resting, who can fathom the torments he is experiencing?! His spirit screams! “Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming…” ~ Isaiah 14:9a Unprepared is he to meet God! Although he cries in his torment, his prayer offers no comfort whatsoever, for a great gulf is fixed where no one can pass to the other side. Alone he is left in his misery. Alone in his memories. The flame of hope forever extinguished of seeing his loved ones again.
On the contrary, precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Escorted by the angels into the presence of the Lord, they are now comforted. Their trials and suffering are past. Although their presence will be deeply missed, they have hope of seeing their loved ones again.
Dear Soul,
Do you have the assurance that if you were to die today, you’ll be in the presence of the Lord in heaven? Death for a believer is but a doorway that opens into eternal life. Those who fall asleep in Jesus will be reunited with their loved ones in heaven.
Those you’ve laid in the grave in tears, you shall meet them again with joy! Oh, to see their smile and feel their touch… never to part again!
Yet, if you don’t believe in the Lord, you’re going to hell. There is no pleasant way to say it.
The Scripture says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” ~ Romans 3:23
Soul, that includes you and me.
Only when we realize the awfulness of our sin against God and feel its deep sorrow in our hearts can we turn from the sin we once loved and accept the Lord Jesus as our Savior.
Don’t fall asleep without Jesus until you are assured of a place in heaven. This is the mumbo jumbo you posted in your OP. How does this relate to Professor Parnia's work you refered to as your source?? |
