Da 5 bloods. 2020. Directed by Spike Lee. Starring Chadwick Boseman, Delroy Lindo and Jean Reno.
Four Vietnam war veterans return to Vietnam in 2020 to retrieve the body of their dead team leader and the stolen gold they buried during the war. The sad fact is gold can turn the most timid man into a raging lunatic. This isnt Spike Lee's best movie but he still manages to instill a black American history lesson as the movie goes along. The Marvin Gaye soundtrack is a nice touch too and certainly reflects what is going on in America today with the Black lives matter protests. 6/10. |

On the record. 2020. Directed by Amy Ziering and Kirby Dick. Featuring Drew Dixon,Alexia Norton and many other women.
If you are a hip hop head, you obviously know who Russel Simmons is. He is the godfather of rap music. The co founder of Def Jam records and fashion mogul behind Phat farm clothing. Over the years a lot of women have accused him of sexual abuse which he has denied. Well this well put together documentary tells the story from the point of view of the victims. There are no actors in this film.Just the women telling their stories and how the abuse affected their lives. These women are no low lifes or gold diggers, they are successful women who worked for and around Simmons. 7/10. |

Source code. 2011. Directed by Duncan Jones. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan.
An airforce pilot wakes up on a train hurtling towards disaster,in another persons body and bearing another persons name. Now he has to come to terms with what he has become and at the same time save everybody on the train. This action/thriller kind of reminds me of the 1993 movie Groundhog day. 7/10. |

The hidden. 1987. Directed by Jack Sholder. Starring Kyle Machlaclan and Michael Nouri. Science fiction/Thriller.
A pair of police officers are assigned to stop a robbery/crime spree in Los Angeles. Only that their opponent is an alien form that can take the form of any living thing. A rollercoaster of action. If you liked the terminator movies or the MIB movies, then you will like this one. 7/10. |

The killing. 1956 Directed by Stanley Kubrick. Starring Sterling Hayden,Marie Windsor and many others.
If you haven't watched this crime thriller, you may like to do so asap. This is the movie that influenced Quentin Tarantino's 1992 film Reservoir dogs. This is Kubrick at his darkest best. And don't you dare miss the end which is totally staggering. Just to warn you this movie is in black and white. On the other hand the way the crime is carried out and timed to perfection is what makes this movie a rollercoaster ride. 9/10. |

You were never really here. 2017 Directed by Lynne Ramsey. Starring Joaquin Phoenix.
An enforcer with a hammer! If you are a fan of how Joaquin Phoenix embodies and embraces his role in his movies then you will love this film. He is a lumbering heavy footed enforcer who doesn't use a gun. His weapon of choice is a steel hammer with which he clubbers his opponents. Lots of blood and gore and a nice political twist at the end. 6/10. |

State of Siege. 1972. Directed by Costra Gavas. Starring Yves Montand.
The movie is in French but it is subtitled in English. The movie takes place in an unnamed South American country where strife and civil unrest reign despite efforts of the government in power. The revolutionary groups make the country unruly for the administration,so they invite American agents under the guise of USAID to train the police force. Philip Michael Santore is the current agent training the police force,so the rebels decide to kidnap him and threaten to kill him except the government releases their colleagues in detention. The film centres on the suspense of whether he lives or dies.
Once again if you are not big on lots of dialogue, you may like to give it a miss. 5/10. |

Shadow of doubt. 1943. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Starring Joseph Cotten and Teresa Wright.
A dark thriller about an uncle and his niece. The movie is in black and white but that does not disturb the suspense that only Hitchcock can bring to a movie. It is a movie about how a young lady can love a relative untill she discovers that the relative is not who he claims to be. It's a slow burner but the end is not to be missed! The movie feels dated but the camera shots are brilliant and very sharp. If you love Hitchcock movies like I do,I suggest you watch it, but on the other hand if you do not like suspense movies with a lot of dialogue you might want to give it a miss. 8/10. |

jimiobanta: A great error on your part to call God incompetent. A greater error to dare Him. You called for divine sanctions upon yourself and you shall have it. Very shortly as the Lord lives and is your creator, your bodily functions shall badly malfunction. Medical personnel shall know not what to do or what the matter is with you. Your functions shall become incompetent. You shall not be healed or receive any comfort by drug administration until you die or crawl before the God whom you have dared. You will beg someone to log into nairaland on your behalf to confess and write your repentance on your behalf. If the God of Abraham lives, so it is for you in Jesus name. Then you in particular and blasphemous atheists shall know there is a God in heaven who created the heavens and earth. Amusing! This thread is a comic relief! Let me continue observing!! |

Christianity Etc › Re: Did God Create Satan On Purpose or Unknowninly? by Dantedasz(m): 4:00pm On Jun 09, 2020 |
IamMichael: Your questions can best be answered with this simple Omnipotence Paradox:
" 1) Can Yahweh/Jehovah create a stone so heavy that even he cannot lift it?"
If he can create such a stone but can't lift it, he is not omnipotence. If he cannot create such a stone, he is also not omnipotence.
• If the said god you are referring to created Satan and didn't know that the said Satan will corrupt his creation, then he is not all-knowing. • If the said god knows about Satan, gave the Satan the powers he has and knew that he will corrupt his creation but allowed it, then the god is complicit and careless. • If the said god decides to blame the creation for being faulty, he as the creator is to be held 100% responsible for it. • If the said Satan is still roaming free after committing the alleged heinous act against the said god's creation, then it means the god is powerless against this Satan.
• If the said god decides to come down to earth to save his creation through a redemption package by dying, here is another paradox: "Can the god sacrifice himself to himself to redeem his creation for himself knowing well that the sacrifice means total death?" If you sacrifice yourself to yourself and refused to stay dead, will that be counted as a sacrifice? If you 100% knew the outcome of an event, will you call it a risk? Excellent post!!! |

Primesky: If your position is true, then Lucifer wouldn't have fallen. Again, why do you think that some angels agreed to follow Lucifer's opinion and offer while others didn't?. I believe they were made to strictly follow instructions and commandments of God, but not as robots. The fact that Lucifer and some angels made a 'choice', which ultimately led to their fall should let us know that they can reason and choose as well. |

Sometimes I look at reality TV shows, big brother Nigeria, and wonder why humans are not concerned about the world they live in, most people don't know the name of the Galaxy the earth is located in, heck, most people don't know what a Galaxy is.
This is the fault of religion, it stops people from using their brain, it stops people from asking questions. LOL!! |

Inteltower: I guess in your head what you said sounded right. so constantly breeching your rules or delegated authority sounds right to you. if a president keeps meddling in the affairs of a governor what will you call that ? you used an example of a father & a child therefore you won't give your child breathing space to do what he wants. are you trying to raise to raise a timid child that won't step out of the house except the father says so. what is the point of free will then to choose to or do what you want at your own time. simply say you want the child to be machine.
simply say you want God to become Superman everyday saving the day why you as a human being won't grow up with the simple instructions laid down, you choose to be constantly falling, being immature, can't love & take responsibility ..all you expect is a garbage man to take out your trash from your house.
even if God kept intervening.. does it stop human beings from harbouring their evil intentions & hatred. what's worst the evil intention in the heart or the action aren't both equal ?
your response shows you will keep pampering & spoon feeding your 35 year old grown up child who would enjoy failing since no punishment, alienating or criticism is on your table.
what kind of child are you raising then ? This is amusing! |

Christian's also conveniently forget or pretend to forget GENESIS CHAPTER 38 VERSES 6 -10.
6 And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, and her name was Tamar. 7 But Er, Judah’s firstborn, swas wicked in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord put him to death. 8 Then Judah said to Onan, “Go in to tyour brother’s wife and uperform the duty of a brother-in-law to her, and raise up offspring for your brother.” 9 But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his. So whenever he went in to his brother’s wife he would waste the semen on the ground, so as not to give offspring to his brother. 10 And what he did was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and he put him to death also. |

Christian's always conveniently forget or pretend to forget DEUTERONOMY CHAPTER 25 VERSES 5-10. 5 If brothers are living together and one of them dies without a son, his widow must not marry outside the family. Her husband's brother shall take her and marry her and fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to her. 6 The first son she bears shall carry on the name of the dead brother so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel. 7 However, if a man does not want to marry his brother's wife, she shall go to the elders at the town gate and say, "My husband's brother refuses to carry on his brother's name in Israel. He will not fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to me." 8 Then the elders of his town shall summon him and talk to him. If he persists in saying, "I do not want to marry her," 9 his brother's widow shall go up to him in the presence of the elders, take off one of his sandals, spit in his face and say, "This is what is done to the man who will not build up his brother's family line." 10 That man's line shall be known in Israel as The Family of the Unsandaled. |

PiccoloBrunelli: Yes God is omniscient. He knows it all. However, if you had the best singing voice in the world, would you sing 24/7 just because you can? You will still decide when to sing and what to sing. God has impeccable self control. So he can decide not to know the outcome of a particular event. If he knew that the angel he made would become Satan and that he will deceive the first human couple and subject mankind to thousands of years of unspeakable suffering AND HE STILL WENT AHEAD TO MAKE THAT ANGEL, then that would be most unloving and wicked.
But the Bible tells us different. God is love. This is hilarious!!! |
