Of course, it did! What do you expect? Any team with Messi should be considered one of the favorites.

Messi is one player who can carry a team on his back to the finals, just as he did in Brazil 2014.

O pari

That's y they will always underachieve, the young man feels the pressure and responsibilities of the whole Argentina right from his national team-mates. I think they see him like "common u are the great Messi we don't need to follow u up u can dribble them up into the net"

Portugal are not star studded but they don't leave it all to Ronaldo

Cosigning. I think this World Cup is Brazil's for the taking but Germany is gonna be another hot favorites.

However, I would list Argentina ahead of France. France has one of the most talented team in the tournament but they always underachieve. They are like the new Holland (the Netherlands).

don't tell me ur love for Messi didn't influence u putting Argentina ahead of France as one of the favorites

yea, the game was in Ghana, five penalties all missed by five different players. the home team got four of the five penalties. I think that match should be investigated

No result of any Nigerian team on the continent should shock anyone especially after their perfomances in the last few years.

Truely. nothing can be as shocking as Rangers' crashing out in such manners last season.

Akwa fall my hand losing 2-1 at home to hawks of Gambia, seems the Hawks are a good side, unbeaten in 6 straight matches now. today's win makes it their first away win in 4 matches the other 3 have been score draws. unless a miracle happens in the second leg Akwa maybe just out of the Continental football. even a 0-1 away win in Gambia won't be enough, they will need a scoreline like 2-0 or 2-1 to push the game into extra time.

Plateau United, well they are showing why they are truly the champions of the NPFL, their league win wasn't a fluke 3-0 winners against Eding who are also champions of the Cameroonian league is not a small feat but is their league that strong, is it stronger than the NPFL? Anyways we might need to wait for the 2nd leg to see if they would move into the next round, lest we see a performance like Rangers last season (was it Rangers?) who wn 3-0 at home only go away and lose 4-0 to crash out. let's just wait and see.

Mfm currently holding Real Bamako 1-1 and guess what they scored in tge 15th minute only to concede 2 minutes later game is still on in the first half

God bless you

thanks.

my expectations for our teams in the CAF club competitions today.

Akwa united v Hawks of Gambia. naturally I'll give Akwa a straight winning here with multiple goals at least 3 goals their league form is very impressive and should be enough for a comprehensive victory. Hawks Ave played 5 times dx year and are yet to lose winning 2 and drawing the other 3. it must be said that the 2 winnings they have arrived on their home ground. and they know how to score too. verdict:
Akwa united 3-1 win

Plateau united v Eding sports of Cameroon. Clash of the Champions, the league champions of Cameroon and of Nigeria. apart from the home advantage of Plateau united they are also inform on the local scene just behind Akwa who top the league and their last result a 5-0 winning over Sunshine stars speaks volume about their performances so far this season. Eding sports are in disarray and should crumble in Jos, the Cameroonian league starts today also but they will be in Nigeria for Caf assignment. they v not played at all dx year so they will be fresh. their manager has been suspended and the caretaker manager will lead them. I expect a plateau united win maybe a 2-0 victory. verdict: Plateau united win

Real Bamako v MFM. MFM doesn't v Caf experience and against Bamako who have been in the CAF scene for a long time, they would fancy a score draw. Real Bamako themselves v not been convincing as champions league campaigners but with the form of MFM on the league where they are still seeking their first away points and unconvincing in their home wins so far, they might just lose to Real in Mali. A draw will be like a win for MFM especially a score one, even a 2-1 win for real Bamako will have MFM feeling optimistic about the second leg in Lagos. Verdict: Real Bamako win or draw, expected scoreline 2-1/2-1 or 0-0

I think if there was a third jersey, everything would be solved, but then what colour would the 3rd jersey be then after designing the home jersey light green and white and the away deep green. maybe an all white 3rd kit will do and I'm sure they would v prepared something like that cuz imagine we r to face Mexico in their own green, what are we to wear if not white?

although this kind of post have been online since the first BBN, it is actually on point sadly tho no one seem to be moved by its contents. My younger Bro got "The best student" in 5 subjects including Mathematics and further mathematics plus "The overall best student" for his class at his school's founder's day ceremony weeks ago..... Guess all he got, 6 packs of higher education and 2000 naira notes. there are other students with similar and better records all over the country but at the end our leaders make reading and dedication to education a waste of time energy and resources.

no wonder crime and cyber fraud is on the rise

Seriously, we need to address this. If security is the problem, then every team that can not control their crowd should suffer a hefty fine and at least 12 points deduction. Once clubs understand the enormity, they will make adequate security arrangements.

I think we r all shifting the argument, the crowds were not reported to v been violent or threatened the referee.

it's the referee's performance that we should concentrate on. the referee gave 2 penalties not because the crowd threatened or something but because of reasons known to him

For the home team.

This upsets me because we have started a new season with the same rubbish. How can the league improve?

I saw a report about sponsorship earlier, sponsors put their money where there is interest. The NPFL needs to generate interest for sponsors to find it attractive. You can not increase interest if games are not fair.

If we make sure home teams get results by hook or crook. What is the point?

I just don't what to say, for it to v happened at the very first match of the season I think things myt not v changed much.

But I'll wait till I see the clips from the match b4 I lose hope. if the penalties were genuine then I'll just v to overlook it

if the NTA deal cnt give us 5 matches per match day then it's a poor and bad decision. the fact that the NTA coverage of football Is always poor x a reason to leave the coverage to supersport.

the only plus is that the coverage will reach those who can get NTA signal irrespective of wether they v decoders or not. otherwise the TV deal should v stayed with Supersport

Remo star came to waste their time in the NPFL and Akin alabi's money went down the drain. Since he's got links with ferense in Portugal, I will advise him to loan some of the players from there to Remo stars if the gain promotion back to the NPFL.

I watched a lot of Ikorodu united and Remo stars last season but unfortunately none of them is in the league this time. I'll make do with Gateway united who have returned to abeokuta after using ijebu ode last season
