We recognise your contributions in bringing News about the NPFL and NNL to this thread. We expect more of it this year. Thanks

Surely Sir. Got this late. Let's hope things go well on the local scene this year. now that Victor Mbaoma and Oche Salefu have returned to Remo stars after their failed move to Mfm coupled with Sunday Faleye who is lost in a transfer tussle between 3Sc and the academy that owns him, nor forgetting Jude aneke who is with Ikorodu united, we hope the competition in the NNL becomes hotter and interesting.

lets wish for less of walkover, banished teams, abandoned matches and violence in stadia. more of fair play, publicity and transparency, more away wins like that of last season and hopefully a team from NNL wins the Aiteo cup and represent 9ja at the 2019 Confederations cup. *winks*

Quick Stats : Errrm FCT does not have any team in the top 2 divisions of league football in the country, this was after FRSC and Fc Abuja got relegated from the NNL northern division last season. Fc Abuja was the last to appear in the Npfl while FRSC have only been as high as NNL.

True talk. But for DR Congo I meant at U-20 level not U-17 level. I recall in 2008 they made it to the U-20 World cup with Nigeria.

OK my bad thanks. They didn't quite build on that experience it didn't even reflect on their women's team. it is well with Africa.

I believe if there is more competition on the female football scene then their would be more followership of the game.

But bro, in as much as prayer is effective, other teams know God too.

Besides, what usually determines victory in football is hardwork, teamwork, preparation and a bit of luck

Although, I must confess my ignorance on the level of preparedness of the flamingoes for this (and many other competitions)

The news is quite replete with cases of neglect of women football by the NFF

If the above is true, then I fear for their performance but if the NFF has awoken to their tasks, then all the best to them

In any case, GO FLAMINGOES!!!

I tire for NFF, I wish we had won that u20 women's world cup in Canada 2014 and more impressive than we did at the main world cup in 2015, maybe just maybe the NFF would v started taking the female teams seriously.

But Pinnick is acting timidly towards them even the male age grade teams, his only concern is SE, I want believe Sheu Dikko is the drive behind the u13 and u15 outings we v seen recently

Haba Sir Danycrusoe. It's me naa. I think you've explained the meaning of your name to me before in times past. wink

I was just teasing you as usual. cheesy Robinson Crusoe, Lovely book. One of Daniel Defoe's best works.

And yeah, teams on the women's soccer scene in Africa are seriously not dulling. I recall back then when a team like DR Congo made it to a women's age grade world cup at U-20 level I think couple of years ago.
Your fear is with good reason but I just feel Bala Nikyu being one with enough experience and exposure will correct the mistakes and profligacy of our girls. Those girls can actually ball but goals conversion is their problem.

Cameroun had it so easy against a weak and physically inferior Algerian team. I don't them beating Nigeria even with their goals-laden show against Algeria (7-0 and 4-0 in the two legs).

Djibouti will fall to Ghana. They got a walkover even into the last round. South Africa should also beat Morocco but yeah Botswana gave them quite a scare but it was 11-6 in the end on aggregate (5-2 and 6-4). Botswana is really building a foundation for the women's game going by an article I came across one time on women's football in southern africa on a women's soccer site I think.

No mind me jare it's been a while we exchanged discussions.

True that Djibouti got a walkover Tunisia, but if I were their coach I'll fancy their chances of being at the world cup, Ghana could v an off day in one of the ties and if it were to be when Djibouti are at home if they take their chances and then go away to Accra and defend, they would just be the latest team to debut at a Fifa world cup, impossible is nothing.

Botswana impressed in those ties, losing 2-5 at home to SA isn't really a failure in the women's game in Africa so far u r not Nigeria, Ghana and Cameroon. u can add equitorial guinea. then scoring 4 away from home is a loss that sure smells like a victory, they should continue to improve

SA has been close in African women's football, they r a power house and its only a matter of time they get their breakthrough just like Cameroon did recently.

we should use Ghana and learn, they have lost their hold on the women's game, they v been inconsistent lately and Nigeria is looking shaky in recent times our talents are not looking enough to see us tru.

It wasn't DR Congo, it was Zambia, Gambia, SA and Cameroon who have participated in one u17 women's world cup each in the last 4 editions since FIFA gave Africa 3 slots in 2010. But I don't know y they didn't make 3 slots for the u20

They just seem to be irrelevant till they make world cup. i believe they'll qualify though. Na u sure pass.

Thanks bro but the neglect they get is alarming.

I really wish we would reach the footballing levels of Germany, France and say Brazil soon where both our male and female teams at any level whatsoever will be feared, respected and regarded as favorites irrespective of form or the opposition.

Sir Danycrusoe abi na Robinson Crusoe. lol

Happy new year ooooo. No I was not on strike naa. Lol.

And hey, our flamingoes will come good hopefully. I know the camerounians won big while we struggled but remember, we are not on same level as the team Cameroun put seven goals pass.

Robinson Crusoe x the novel that inspired my username, and the fact that it was written by my namesake Daniel Defoe... that's by the way.

I hope after wat the u17 n u20 last year the female teams won't follow suit this year, seriously our female teams av not been this poor or maybe others are just catching up and we r getting exposed that we aren't as good as we tot.

Djibouti could be at the u17 women's world cup if they could navigate Ghana, that's a testament of the improvement of others. Burundi almost shocked SA at the u20 level too

While we r arguing the Cafe awards, the players of Rivers united protesting or should I say pleading with Rivers state governor to pay their entitlements since 2014 b4 Sharks and Dolphins were merged to become Rivers united. But this is bad from the governor to allow grown men lie flat and kneel and look comfortable with it despite the fact that they are asking for what's their right.

Poor image for our league. I personally don't mind if we v just 8 teams in the league so far they do things professionally including paying as at when due.

I may not agree with Komekn every time, but he's not totally wrong.

We don't have an automatic birth data capture here in Nigeria; That's shameful.

Anything can happen, this isn't about him being obsessed with the white skin or English system.

Oga his sentiment is kinda weird, no wonder he and Forgiveness gets along very well. and about ur first paragraph since he is totally not wrong then I believe he is totally not right either.
For him to make such a comment even with those pictures up there then I think something is wrong, somewhere.

Haba people like him fit say a primary 2 kid is 18 years old just because there is no "data age capture camera" in the Nigerian city he was born.

how come he never speaks out when the issue of age cheating is raised about Europeans and the likes abi u no see the Moroccan boys.

to him if Solanke was born in 9ja he wouldn't be less than 30 but he is claiming u21 and because he is in Queens land he could probably be even less than 17, yea they add to their age to look the part na.

all of us know that Brazil has been accused and caught of age cheating at the u17 level in the past. so please just because we are Africans somebody should not come and make us the face of age cheating, it is only the person caught that is a thief. others are not so far they have not been caught.

pepesi he will b saying if Balogun was born in Nigeria he will b claiming "24".

How do you know they are all U13.

I have been at a EPL academy and there is a boy brought not from West Africa in the U 12 category. He is killing everyone but they have shaved 2/3 years of his age.

I know boys brought in from Guinea Bissau at thus stage just two years off the age and he's top of the group. And will remain top until first team one of these boys has a transfer fee now of £8 million.

So the quest for competitive advantage causes corrupt practices even here. So I doubt that Nigeria will be any different.

I will tell you u have association with academies in Nigeria and Benin city in particular. And it's not hidden what they are doing.

So if you think I will be made to feel that my experiential observation are incorrect that will simply not work.

The problem we have mirrors the Nigerian situation we know that most police and politician are corrupt. That we find it hard to believe that any honest ones exist, there will be but, we all remain skeptical.

so even with the pix added up there u still feel those boys are more than the u13 that they are abi... continue ooo. to u everything African x wrong and full of lies and corruption but the whites are god abi they r just perfect well I no kukuma blame u.

but Bro do you know Mowe Ibafo area.....? yes that place between Lagos state n Ogun state, when u pass redemption camp, just branch at MFM Prayer City, u need prayers and deliverance from the spirit of "nothing good comes from 9ja".

I just weak 4 u oo. when the pic of the Moroccan u15 team flooded here with all their beards wey me wey over 20 no even get, u no talk oo we no see u question their ages o, because they r "white Africans" abi so they r excused from the age cheating case abi.

to me I think u r obsessed with 2 things 1) The white Skin 2) Epl. u worship them.

Hello guys!
Some Nigerians have moved to one of the Croatians soccer forums to initiate banter and war of words with their fans. See some of their posts below and the link...

First of all can I say it is great to chat with you all here. I hope we will have great fraternal and good natured banter between now and June when we meet at the World Cup.
Now, here is my perception about the current Croatian national football team. You have a talented squad and I actually believe you will qualify as group runners-up behind Nigeria:
Croatia:
[1] By the time the World Cup starts, this will be the ages of your star players:
Luca Modric -32
Ivan Rakitić - 30
Mario Mandžukić - 32
Nikola Kalinić - 30
Ivan Perišić - 29
[2] Croatia will not be able to deal with Nigeria's pace
[3] By the time Croatia attack, we will have had defenders back in place
[4] Croatia relies on slow methodical build-ups
[5] Croatia do not have the legs to deal with our swift counter-attacks
[6] Domagoj Vida the Dynamo Kiev centreback and rock alongside Dejan Lovren, does not strike me as someone who can handle say Victor Moses or Odion Ighalo
[7] Ivan Strinić, your leftback who plays for Samdoria is 30. How will he gallop up and down the flanks at the same rate as Tyronne Ebuehi?
[8] Croatia is not a high scoring side. If you look at your qualification, most of your victories were 1-0 affairs. Croatia was lucky to have Kosovo in your group, who you beat 6-0 away, boosting your goal aggregated
[9] From what I can see, Croatia, Ukraine, Iceland and Finland were all equally matched in their qualification group
[10] I can see Croatia struggling to break down a stubborn Iceland defence. However, you may beat them 1-0 and defeat Argentina by the same margin. They have a terrible defence too. Mascherano and Otamendi are very vulnerable to pace.

http://www.xtratime.org/forum/381-vatreni-croatian-national-team/477138-what-we-nigerian-football-fans-think-croatia.html

whoever that guys Is, he just went there to disgrace and embarrass himself. he couldn't even keep up with the sarcastic and mocking comments made of him. poke nosing no too good.

what the Croats are doing and we laff at them is what we do here, everybody feel they can win all 9 points, June is kuku coming soon, na field of play we go know. worse they v started playing the age cheating card and that alone is disgusting

people go just they allow those Europeans rubbish the country anyhow, one of them even warned that he may be there for online scam
